welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward hey everybody welcome back this is gonna be one of those fun exciting podcasts where I get the opportunity of introducing to you a guy who’s been absolutely crushing it at the same time he’s had a ton of crazy struggles ups and downs in his life and is going through some things right now that I most of you guys don’t understand bow once you’ve had success one of the problems and things that happen next so what I want to do right now is introduce you guys to AJ Troma AJ welcome to the show thanks for having me baby excited to be here this is gonna be a lot of fun so AJ is one of our two comma Club winners but not only is one of our two comma Club winners he’s one who got it done within five months so I mean just absolutely crushed it AJ I get is we were kind of talking here beforehand I had the opportunity listen to your story that you’ve got online there man you’ve had a rollercoaster of entrepreneurial experiences and if you don’t mind just take a take a minute or so here and kind of share with people kind of where you’ve been where you’re at and then I want to really kind of talk about where you’re at where we’re going next awesome yeah definitely I’m excited about this it should be fun I guess so as you mentioned I hit two coma Club within five months but I’ve always been kind of a maverick when it comes to starting businesses I’ve taken and risk my entire life all the way down to when I was flipping houses when I was 19 years old with no money but you know my my quick story in 60 seconds is a few years of back I used to own a restaurant and it was called Cici’s Pizza it was a franchise 50 employees and it drove me nuts I was sick to my stomach learn the debt the bills and I ended up having a tumor that doctors couldn’t explain why I had so it was benign thank God but it really gave me a perspective it made me think what can I do that’s not gonna stress me out as much so I went to internet marketing and my journey really is ups and downs I mean it’s it’s never been straight kind of like a rocket launch to success and you know I found myself doing e-commerce uh about two two-and-a-half years ago and I did really well with one store getting to 1.5 million in eight months selling very expensive products and high ticket drop shipping once I did that I sold it never really thought about it again and I was called on to help somebody promote their course doing high ticket sells in the same space I was in he was teaching what I’m teaching now but I he wanted me to do all his sales for him so I did I hope to make like a million dollars in a few months and then I’d venture out my own so I started a company called seven-figure skills that’s where I’m at now and that’s what this company allowed me to kind of hit the to come across recently dude that’s crazy I mean I appreciate you being so quick about the whole thing I mean it’s been a lot of fun just kind of hearing your story and kind of get to know you better AJ so again Cici’s Pizza getting pizza chain down in the south going from basically a franchise model totally a physical retail type of store to going completely online drop shipping and drop shipping high-end product you mean ID as far as we’re saying drop shipping high-end products what type of things we looking at okay so I I kind of revolve my mindset is if I can I would be happy if I can make a living selling one product today so I thought to myself what could that be like so I focus on selling products that cost $500 or more in products that are made are products that you need on a day to day basis think furniture think office equipment furniture like maybe a standing desk or even yeah I I’ve sold high-end paper shredders like commercial paper shredders that cost I mean whatever I can get my hands on where I can get some decent margins and I can sell for a few thousand bucks that’s what I want a dropship that’s awesome so right now you’ve got a company basically called seven-figure skills where you’re teaching people how to do this I think one of the things you just made mention is if I could sell something just one product a day or one one item a day what would it be one things you made mention of is the fact that from a high-ticket sales standpoint you’ve done over $100,000 in a webinar from five people yeah that might end up being the climax of this interview that way so tell me what I want to talk about right now though is that’s kind of the baton hook there everybody got stick on to the very end here we did that but I again AJ I think the part that you and I were kind of alluding to when we first got started talking here today and that was this concept of as far as okay now you’ve hit the 2 comma Club and that’s where everything’s that’s the Holy Grail I want to hit that and then life will be easy then it’ll all turn out and everything will be great obviously when you hit that other issues happen so what are some of the things you’re going through right now that would be a benefit to our listeners absolutely so for anyone who’s listening I was right into your shoes guys listening in trying to sponge any any information I can to make as much money as I possibly can within the shortest period of time and unfortunately we I was looking for something that’s very common among entrepreneurs which is something that required the path of least resistance and another thing called the expediency factor and those two are common trace I think within within entrepreneurs especially if you have ADHD or like I guess so the problem is everyone’s fixated on getting to two coma Club making a million bucks or seven figures but unfortunately like under the saying goes more money more problems what I did is I actually exclusively singularly focused on making as much money as possible and I got really good at it and I’m for and I didn’t really consider the building the foundation the the support the fulfillment and delivering on what I was promising especially at a high level I brought in so many members like you mentioned five months into to the two coma Club and I kept brushing off the important things the that really create a company I was more concerned about like hitting my cells each and every month so the for me than what happened is I ended up refunding a hundred thousand dollars in revenue to customers mainly about six or seven high ticket customers I was charging about twenty twenty-five thousand dollars a piece for for high-level coaching and I could have kept that money and figured out a way to help them but I felt that it was a disservice to them and would hurt my brand reputation as a company if I kept their money and tried to you know just patch up some services that really shouldn’t have been patched up to begin what they should have been delivering a high quality so really I think that people need to step back as I I am right now by the way if I had to read 100 grand I stopped my funnels I stopped running ads and I said I need to take a step back figure things out so I can move forward take two steps forward and never have this problem again at least at this caliber so I think people get fixated on making money making money making money what can I sell what can i what what what will people pay me money for and how can I do high-ticket how can I sell 5,000 10,000 20,000 but you know you got to look at the core foundation of your business model cuz what happens if a lot of people come and give you a lot of money and now you have to deliver you know and I totally totally appreciate your transparency I know this is a these aren’t easy conversations they have especially when you’re sitting there going I don’t care who you’re a hundred thousand dollars that’s just that’s not chump change that’s it that’s a big decision to think okay I’m gonna refund a hundred thousand dollars here and you’ve got your name at stake you’ve got your business and I think that part I again I haven’t been in similar types of situations where you’ve got major decisions you’ve got to make from a company standpoint is really kind of I think the part I like the most edge is what you referred to right now is this is where you really transition from just making money and having a hobby to where you’re truly making a business and creating a business that ideally is gonna have legs that is gonna run by itself eventually without you and I those foundational type of things I want to kind of expand on that what are some of the foundational things you’re looking at right now that you’re struggling with and trying to put in place sure so for me it would be coaching coaching program so I mean like establishing talented education or educated coaches people skilled in specific things automating a lot of processes that right now I’m doing manually those are and I guess as an example one of the parts of my services building out stores for people like a done-for-you service and unfortunately what I figured I can just teach someone else to do what I know and they can execute it so I ended up growing to ten employees had an office really started scaling really fast to meet the demand but unfortunately I wasn’t hiring A+ players and the thing I think the takeaway from this is I let go of my team I closed my office and I took a step back and said who are the very best in the business that can help me fulfill this because I don’t want to be the one to do it and I want to step back and automate my business and I cannot hire people from Craigslist and people locally here in town just because they have you know experience on the technical side you really need somebody that understands this business so for me right now I’m building my a team and and moving forward that’s gonna be outsourcing it to companies that can be fill specific parts of what I need to deliver a high-end ecommerce you know platform for my customers wow those are profound words I tell you that is I think the the hardest thing for most entrepreneurs I know having gone through it myself on this situation and that is the massive value difference between an a player and a B player it’s exponential I mean it’s it is so crazy and it’s hard when you get when you’re first get started as an entrepreneur at least I know in my experience it’s a lot easier to think you know what I just want to if someone can just fog this mirror and can do the job I’d rather not have to pay out a whole bunch of money just to get this job done whereas I know I’ve had this conversation with Todd and Russell and the guys here at clickfunnels that’s been I think one of the things for us that separate us from everyone else even as I talked a lot of these guys you were trying to throw money at clickfunnels inception is we we’ve spent a lot of money on making sure we hired a players yes they cost more and I mean that’s there’s definitely a huge price issue there but the value we found is 10 to 20 even a hundred thousand times greater because a lot of your eight players I know will start at least for us will start thinking for themselves and you don’t have to spend as much time babysit babysitting them I think one of the things you made mention of AJ which I totally appreciate and that is you kind of just thought that they would be able to have the same skill set that you had or they’d be able to pick it up as fast as you picked it up and you’re never gonna get that from a B player so man congratulations that’s that’s awesome experience yeah I appreciate that and you’re absolutely right and in my case I honestly not to insult the people who work for me I think they tried their best but unfortunately I I think I ended up recruiting Steam players if anything and yeah I think as an entrepreneur you expect people to have the same drive and ambition this video and that they’ll just figure it out because we figure it out as entrepreneurs but that’s not the case when you hire somebody and I learned that certainly the hard way but the number one problem in the takeaway I want people to know from scaling really fast is don’t oh what I ended up focusing on is putting out fires and ultimately what that happened what resulted is my cell started declining because I stopped I took away attention from sales webinars and and and really scaling to to putting out fires and in fulfilling the back end of what I promised I would deliver on and you know if you’re in that position if you’re fortunate enough to be in that position where what people call a good problem where you’re making money but you’re putting out fires then you know my number one advice is to take a step back and really assess like how you can incorporate the right systems and hire the right eight plus players to two before it or else oh you’re gonna choke your business to death eventually wow I love that totally agree so what are some of the things you’ve seen what are as you’re looking at scaling what are some of the tips and tricks you would recommend to other people well as far as scaling goes I mean I would start off with really looking at your your core product and for me it’s an online course so I have a membership site with online access to my training and I realize like you know what I have different levels of of customers and members that come in at the starting phase I have people that come in laugh at a webinar off the price of like 1500 bucks and it goes all the way to $30,000 now for me I had a really good problem every time I mentioned a more expensive product people wanted I remember one webinar where I was just kind of talking off the cuff at the end answering questions and I mentioned I was thinking about introducing a $20,000 you know program and I had three people sign up just because I said I’m thinking about that’s a nice problem to have and then same thing happened prior to that where I went from fifteen hundred to a five thousand dollar product and I said well I’m thinking about this five thousand dollar product that would add more value to you guys and we’re done for you and then the next thing I knew people were bypassing the 1500 go straight to the five thousand so I think the more value I added in terms of what they would be getting out of it the more they wanted so starting with to answer your question to help people out there like really look at your core product if it’s an online course so be it but make sure it applies to the tier I like everyone wants to do high ticket sales day but I feel like that’s the new trend right now maybe it’s been going on for a long time everyone was thinking about like how do I sell a ten thousand dollar product address whatever twenty thousand dollar product sell it but you have to have something that’s depreciates from your from your core product or fifteen hundred or your two thousand dollar product and I made the mistake of putting bundling everyone in one group and just offering you know specific kind of coaching if you were a more expensive product or client and that’s just not the way to do it and that’s kind of one of the mistakes I made so now I’m kind of tailoring everything down to the foundation of the course to that specific customer or member so AJ should take a look at your product offerings then from a high-ticket standpoint so our most of your funnels through webinars then um yes yes and no I have a ten like a seven day eight well I have different testing different things I have a three-part miniseries and I have a 10-day mini course I’m also gonna test out like a docu-series kind of style approach but ultimately the core of my members do sign up via webinar yes okay so now they come in through a webinar and I think it’s really cool what you’re mentioning there as far as the ability as far as how you’re gonna scale a product line because I know we’ve we’ve taken a look at different types of coaching programs we’ve looked at you know what you really can sell online versus offline from a webinar versus having to get a salesperson in in place so what price points are you seeing work because you just made mentioned as far as fifteen hundred five thousand you know ten thousand twenty thousand dollars what can you really do on a webinar and what do you see works the best well in terms of it depends what you’re looking for a lot of people are looking for my new members right so they’re like I signed up 50 new members I sign up 20 new members and they were not really fixated on the price point you can sell that five hundred dollars at a thousand dollars for me what I was looking at is total revenue and the path to get there with the least amount of effort right the path of least resistance so for me that was introducing a very high ticket product at the twenty twenty-five thousand range and the five thousand dollar range and I feel like nowadays a five thousand dollar product selling it through via webinar directly without like an application without phone sales it’s very doable but you’ve got to really add a lot of value and I think I create it like it might wait the perfect webinar in you know not I loved Russell’s perfect webinar script but mine deviates from that just a bit because you’re adding I mean just yeah I went based on my personality more than anything else Dave because at the end of the day people respond to the price point only if positively only if they like you and if you’re trying to follow a structured script or a structured style and it doesn’t fit your personality and that that listener doesn’t like really resonate with you that’s not if you don’t get emotional I said he doesn’t or she doesn’t have an emotional connection to what you’re saying it doesn’t like you and I don’t care if you sell a $1 product they’re not gonna buy I totally agree it’s that emotional connection so a lot of people struggle above $2,000 on a webinar how what are you doing in yours that is connecting people enough with you to where you feel confident offering a $5,000 product on a webinar and I have an avoid and being able the ability to avoid having to about application or sales guy okay it starts in the indoctrination Seaquest so it’s way before the well I don’t do a lot of straight to webinars and like ads hey watch my auto webinar and then that’s it that’s very hard to do out probably impossible in my opinion but I start with a mini series of mini course get into my facebook group see some of my testimonials so by the time they get at least three four maybe up to five or six emails from me watched a few of my videos and then attend a webinar usually live sometimes recorded then I’ve already added enough value on the front on and to where when I make that offer is just that much more impactful because they already solidified in their mind that I’m the real deal I love that if they’re coming in straight from a cold ad it’s a lot harder to do sure I think you know kind of goes back to the the old concept as far as how how high can you raise the freeline I mean how much can you provide value wise that’s still for free so that when they hit that price point of the next line they’re like oh my gosh if I got all that for free I usually pay five thousand dollars for X or whatever your your product might be and I think at times a lot of us get so afraid it’s kind of funny I run across people all the time said when when you’re talking on my podcast or anything else I want you to give the very very best and they’re like oh my gosh if I get the very best I won’t have anything else to offer I’m like your product and your offering should never be that way you ought to be able to give the very best because at that point people are gonna come to you because they want even more from you and you’ll always be able to deliver more than what you thought and at the end of the day of anyone’s scared to add too much of value because they feel like they’re giving away the secret recipe just remember like by nature people are lazy they’re not they’re gonna say wow this guy really if I went and did exactly what this guy just taught me free I would really make money but imagine if I hired oh that’s I think I hope everyone rewinds that it listens to that again I think that is by far one of the most important things is to realize how much people how lazy people truly are but more importantly than how much because most people don’t want to do it they want to done for them or at least it done with you type of programs and in that kind of case they’ll pay a lot of money for that they will and that’s kind of been the key to my success so far and I’m constantly evolving I’m you know creating new products I’m also going beyond ecommerce I’m gonna start focusing on what I’m really passionate about which is really helping people be successful outside of just making money but I’m grateful to e-commerce but anything you do just gotta add value a lot of value you know what I had somebody in my webinar actually tell me they win in May eighth one hundred grand just from watching my webinar and that what supplements eriously that’s awesome I know I was like jealous I was almost like a little bit better Tootsie what did you do like that but ya know it you have to have a lot of value and make it more about because the audience because for me to get to $100,000 in sales from five people I remember I was so disappointed on this webinar Dave I had a thousand people register and I had 80 people attend and like 50 people stuck around to the end and I was like oh this is the worst webinar ever but I’d still gave me 110 percent you know not I didn’t stay discouraged and sure enough at the end of that webinar a hundred grand from five people dude that’s awesome again it meant that’s I think so often people forget you got to do the reps you got to be willing you got to give all just if there’s only one person on that webinar you still give a hundred percent and you just never know how it’s gonna turn out so I those are great numbers though seriously I a lot of people get really frustrating gosh I have a thousand people registered I mean honestly I remember we had a situation where we did one with Robert chaos Robert Kiyosaki’s grouping that oh my gosh this is gonna be the Holy Grail and it just bombed I was like what and a lot of it was is because the disconnect between the the promotion partner and and us at the time but over time what we saw was we were able to connect with the right people in on that webinar and it turned out great and I think you just did the same thing where yeah you have 80 people should you know show up and only 50 people stay to the end but out of those 50 people ten people or five people buy and $100,000 comes in that’s that’s not a bad return on whatever amount of time that took to do your webinar absolutely one one more tip if somebody’s thinking about high ticket sells is I have two different webinars I have a regular webinar for my core product and I have a hot and sometimes I host like once a month a high ticket webinar specifically for my either you know 5k or 30k product and what I find is there’s like a door like indirectly I didn’t know at the time this was an ascent ascension of sorts but I wasn’t doing intentionally in that I pour product members were hopping on my my promotional webinars and they knew it was a promotional webinar they knew they were watching something that was gonna set oh them something and they knew it was meant for newly newbies but they were still hopping on every three we got noticed my core members hopping on these promotional webinars and I remember even giving them a disclaimer if you’re on this webinar you’re a member you don’t have to be here this is not part of your core course and yet they would stick around and what I found is they kept buying upwards buying upwards and updating oh I want this package oh my god you do this I want this now and it man it’s so cool hey I think it just goes to show the type of value you’re given on your webinars then if people are I mean and that’s what it comes down to you got to be a leader of that kind of value I agree I definitely agree and it’s for those that are trying to like make a killing right now off of webinars or they’re thinking about wow AJ did this maybe I can do it just keep in mind I probably last year did over 200 webinars I think total I mean it was I was doing almost a one or two webinars a week live I mean I I my endless hours of Rica lab recalibrating disappointments you know you name it frustrations webinars breaking down testing different webinar tools and resources well it goes beyond the webinar before the webinar is just one aspect of everything if you’re only looking at webinars and and it’s gonna be hard at least to sell high ticket products and I think so what are the tips do you have for people who want to sell high ticket depends how high they want to go because I think it’s relatively easy to sell something that’s like two three thousand dollars in my opinion but if you’re thinking 5 10 15 20 30 grand and add a lot of value on the don’t just go straight to webinar set them up on some you know mini email sequence indoctrinate them let them know your story let them know more give them value and then let them decide you know hey I really want to be on this next webinar if you can do that if you can convince them to you know seek out your next webinar and then and with a really high ticket product you might very successful and don’t be scared to make an offer a lot of people are scared to make an offer there go straight they’ll suggest like an application you know like oh just apply but why not why not I’ll make this offer at the end make the offer if they don’t buy then suggest they apply for for a chance to talk to your sales guy I love that idea well what other tips do you have for us as far as high tickets stuff before we wrap things up here um high ticket stub I would say don’t be scared to try to really charge what you think your product is worth I think a lot of people shortchange themselves and that’s a mistake I made I I was one of those like I gave so much value for my 5 grand product I wasn’t at the end of the day I was like was it worth it I mean I’m making money but so really factoring the value of what you’re offering and price it accordingly people are willing to pay you’re helping people to make money hopefully in what you’re doing so you know remember that I I bought a franchise in CCS babe that cost me six hundred and fifty thousand dollars and and that was nothing in these two these people like these friend in the franchising world that’s nothing and at the end of the day I made like I made maybe a hundred and fifty grand I mean come on I made that like my first month with with commas my and this business here so I love that analogy I hope people understand I think at times we kind of get jaded in this whole ecommerce internet marketing opportunity to have a thing where people like oh my gosh you know I’ve I’ve had many conversations my kids regarding college and education the cost of education and Russell of James that were talking about this literally yesterday when we’re working out as far as the cost of of education and you pay for one way or the other and I think too often people aren’t willing to invest in themselves and yet you take a look at most the world and their spin and as you’ve just made mention six hundred fifty thousand dollars for a CC’s franchise so again I totally agree with what you’re saying AJ congratulations on all your success but most of all congratulations on your persistence knowing your story and the ups and downs that you’ve had I again I just congratulate you on just having stuck to it and your persistence is amazing thank you so much Dave I mean you guys honestly I’ve created something that I I think it’s just like one-of-a-kind and it inspires me I never thought I’d get excited to want to achieve like a tutu coma X or two coma but it’s it’s it’s rewarding I appreciate you guys honest is what I’m trying to say you Russell the team it’s an amazing kind of community you guys created and what’s funny is it reminds me of a franchising model because you know you kind of feel like you’re not alone you’re a part of a community there’s health or support there’s and you know there’s resources so you guys are like the McDonald’s of the internet well thank you welcome to the family again congratulations on your success Ajay’s people I’m sure gonna want to get a hold of you reach out what’s the easiest way for them to do that yeah guys if you want to ask me anything about you know high-ticket or whatever anything in general just hit me up at AJ at seven figure skills calm man giving your email out on a podcast be careful at least these listeners are very active it’s not a common yo you’ll get some emails for sure so AJ I appreciate so much just your transparency your willingness to give as much as you do to our community thank you so much wish you all the best in everything and thanks again for being on the show today preciate it Dave you know one of the things that means a ton to me is the personal reviews that you guys leave on iTunes you wouldn’t mind going out rate the show let me know how I’m doing just go to iTunes click on the episode and rate it leave a comment I read all the comments I appreciate all the stars and everything different already left forming again I really appreciate it and it’s my way of finding out how I’m doing so if you don’t mind I’d really appreciate it and I again thank you so much for all that you guys do have a great day

welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward Wow everybody this is gonna be a crazy right I have had so many things happening recently that I’ve just been dying to talk to somebody about this I’ve been doing Facebook lives and I had to try to contain my excitement enthusiasm here but not everyone understands my backstory on this kind of stuff so we kind of slowed things down here and dive into what I’m referring to here is the marketing trifecta so everyone always talks about an offer and how he offers everything and yes I understand the importance of the offer but just recently Russell did probably one of the most amazing trainings I’ve ever heard him give and unfortunately was just for our two comma Club X members that was this whole idea between what we refer to really I’m calling the marketing trifecta and that’s the hook the story and the offer now understand if you get all three of these right it literally is a 10 10 million plus dollar business if you just get one of them right you’re still hitting a seven-figure dollar business if you do it right and so I want to kind of give you my some ideas and things as far as how all this works so what happened a was Russell and I think James Frio we’re working out and it’s it been literally about three weeks since the three of us had been together just due to phone hacking live implications and do being sick and everything else and so we’re sitting in Russell’s gym and it is one of those things where all the sudden the my ideas just started rolling like crazy and I don’t think we got any true workout done as far as physical workout but I left there so energizing so excited and so just passionate about what we do as far as helping other small entrepreneurs and business owners realize the impact that they can have literally on changing the world and it all comes down to this concept as far as the hook the story and the offer now it first of all if you do not have Russell’s book expert secrets by all means stop right now do not listen to this any further go to experts secrets calm and buy the book it’s like it’s like the most important thing you can have as a business owner to get things going because it will help you understand the idea behind the PIFAN e bridges and stories and all that kind of stuff which is gonna help this podcast make even that much more sense so expert secrets calm go get the book if you don’t have it I don’t know why and if if you haven’t read it go read it so with that said I want to kind of just dive right into this idea here and realize that what you’re looking at at a business and a product so often people try to compete on price and price is like the worst thing in the world you can ever compete on because unless you’re the very lowest price it doesn’t do you any good to be the second lowest it just there’s no value there and all anytime you’re competing on price it’s just a race to the bottom where you can have the exact same product and if the hook and the story and the offer are correct you actually can get a ton more money for the exact same product by having a better offer now I Steven Larson who I just adore guys just become a great friend he was talking with my son Chandler so that’s gonna get the story second hands so and Steven is one of our two comma Club X coaches and my son Chandler signed up so product you ever for doing this my gosh dad did it without even tell me about it and so he’s paying for his own but I’m really excited so I was talking to last night about this whole idea cuz I’m so excited about this hook offers story story offered trifecta he said oh dad is so weird I was talking to Steve Larson about this the other day and he said that what I should be doing is every single time I see a product I haven’t think what is the offer that I have to create for that and the more ideas that you can create as far as coming up with offers the better I would be in my marketing oh my gosh that’s awesome and then I’m sitting there talking with Russell and the same thing happened on the hook side and that is every time you look at an offer what is the hook that you can come up with to make that offer that much more come and so Chandler was saying you with that I’m gonna basically take a look at everything I whatever I see as far as what would be they offer that I can create for that product so what I’m watching shark tank how would I enhance that offer what would I how can I make that offer better and a lot of times it comes back to the hook and I guess the way you can almost kind of refer to the hook as marketing foreplay it’s the idea as far as get it’s what gets people most interested in this story you’re about ready to tell and so the idea behind this is that if you get the right hook it can overcome a lot of mistakes in the offer so let me give you a couple of different ideas here take for example in real estate Robert Allen had probably one of the best hooks out there and whether you like his coaching program or what he does doesn’t matter so just realize as far as his hook his hook was so compelling that he literally had the newspapers writing about it and his hook was send me to any city take a one take away my wallet give me a hundred dollars for living expenses and in 72 hours I’ll buy an excellent piece of real estate using none of my own money now realize that hook is so compelling is whether you can do it or not it’s like yeah I want to find out about this and that’s again he hasn’t even given you the offer for his coaching program his hook is just out there so big and bold that people like Wow it catches their attention it’s it’s the it’s the pretty girl in the bars everything where it’s like wow it does knock down gorgeous woman and you’re sitting there or a gorgeous guy whatever it might be and your that’s the hook it’s what gets the person’s attention to where they’re like oh my gosh Tom and more and that’s where your story then becomes so compelling it’s also kind of like why if you take a look in the fitness industry I see this happened quite a bit you can have a person as the greatest product in the world on losing weight they can have the most amazing way to help a person lose weight but I can tell you right now that if if they’ve never had to lose weight themself they don’t have a hook that’s strong enough it just Falls it’s a small flat because it just doesn’t connect with people particularly I forget Drew’s last name who owns fit too fat to fit here’s a guy who has fit his entire life it is trying to to basically go out and help other people lose weight and get in shape and what he realized is because he had never gone through the experience of losing weight he was just like any other person out there and so he was trying to come up with a way that he could relate better and it could be a more compelling hook and so what’s this guy do he decides to create fit to fat fit for other words and it ventually is it he gets on all the late-night talk shows he hits on he then gets his own TV show about it because it was such an amazing hook that is here you have this guy who is just rock-hard chiseled body this Adonis type of figure who realizes that you know what I’m gonna go ahead I’m gonna get fat which is just totally opposite and so realize sometimes with the hook doing the opposite is what can create a solid hook so he goes from being to in amazing shape to where he gets fat super fat and then goes through and documents which is one of the keys to a great hook is the story is documenting things as you’re going through it so he documents this journey of becoming fat and then he documents the journey of losing the weight so now he has this compelling story of being fit of getting fat and then being fit again to where the hook is so strong that the story is fascinating or people want to hear more about this story and then they offer whether his offer is good or not doesn’t even matter as much because people have been sucked in so much by the hook in the story that they now are much more willing to listen to the offer the same thing happens in with Russell and a lot of things that he’s done here again you got a guy Russell is amazing at creating hooks in he by far the best guy in the world Farms offers go and also as far as hooks and if you take a look at a lot of his hooks the classic example right now is a brand new podcast he’s just come out with which is called the Book of Mormon challenge and again this isn’t a religious aspect here but this story here is so critical for you to understand I want to make sure you you get it and if you haven’t listened to his podcast by all means no matter what your religious affiliations are go and listen to Book of Mormon challenge calm or book Book of Mormon challenge podcast and it’ll take you to Book of Mormon challenge.com the idea behind it is here’s a guy who as most of you already know is remember the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints or Mormon and his whole idea is this book so Mormons the nickname warming comes from the Book of Mormon which is a companion to the Bible and they go hand in hand and yet his whole idea here is there’s value in this book and he’s got a ton of around his house and he’s sitting there going gosh you know how the world can I get more excited about reading this book that I know it should be reading and so what he decided to do he decides to go out and spend a small fortune to buy one of the original copies of a very limited run of only 5000 copies that was published over 180 years ago so now he spends his small fortune he gets this book and now because he has it he now decides he’s gonna create a podcast to then tell people about his journey of going through and reading this precious volume of scripture that he and it’s been a small fortune to get one of the original copies of so that’s the hook that basically leads in to every single one of his podcasts so I highly recommend if nothing else at least listen to the intro to the Book of Mormon challenge because it basically tells you his hook in his intro the reason that hooks are so important is because hooks allow you the opportunity of actually increasing value even though you can have the exact same price so you can have the same price or you don’t have to compete on price because the added value that’s there so realize that when you’re looking at hooks there’s ways of creating looks some of the more common ones I’ve seen recently one is a crazy story or a claim like take for example Robert Allen’s or Drew’s fit to fat to fit or Russell’s claim or his experience basically of spending a small fortune to buy only the original 5,000 copies of Book of Mormon the other thing is taking a person through the journey and helping them understand kind of what you’re going through so if you’re familiar with JP if you’re sorry JP turgid catalog Seinfeld did an amazing episode in fact Elaine used to work for word JP Herrmann even though it’s kind of this myth mystical miss mythical type of story out there she worked for JP Duminy in this whole catalog edition and if you haven’t seen any of the original J Peter catalog we need to go to eBay and buy some of the catalogs they are fascinating primarily because they’re selling its clothing that’s being sold by story and it’s it’s just an amazing experience to read through some of the copy on these stories so realize that J Peterman was it uh it’s an actual company I think it started in the 80s 70s or 80s and they basically end up going bankrupt and one things that saved them was these crazy catalogs so I want to talk to you and I’m gonna read some of these stories here inside of a catalog now realize an umbrella you can pick up an umbrella for adding a web probably 7 10 20 bucks 30 bucks he’s selling umbrella here for $119 so you open up the catalog and what you see here is an English umbrella now understand this looks like any other umbrella you would ever see it it’s black it has a basically a hook on the bottom but let me read the story and see if it now increases the value to you so English umbrella in the past we sold the Queen’s umbrella with them with the royal warrant all due respect it may not be quite worth the four hundred sixty dollar price tag so we found one in the Midlands albeit made in Germany in the same style perfectly made not only expensive the shape open his dome which gives you more to get under and the 43 inch canopy diameter is very substantial the occasion would smart crook handle drapes effortlessly effortlessly over the arm and it looks very nice in the city with your short trench and French cuffs and cufflinks it also keeps you dry in the countryside while wearing less dapper apparel in parentheses it’s been tested the English umbrella 37 inches overall height black color and parentheses of course with matching black protective sleeve decorative colors one size made a journey price 119 bucks a night your man because I want those kind of experiences and so what you find is the story is selling the experience how let me give you another Luigi’s Lily turning pages here just reading through one of these catalogs oh here’s a belt so here’s a Western English belt now gran this looks like any other belt that you might be wearing here so the Western English belt the double leather construction is the same technique used in the girth and English saddles for strength and comfort the sharp look comes from the premium quality leather intricate stitching and rounded brass buckle one it’s Bridal with supple chaps leather for it overall one and a half inch with padded keeper handmade in Kentucky color brown price $199 for a belt but really what you’re doing here is you’re selling an experience and this story’s what’s up so you have the hook you have the story and the offer here’s another one this one here is a blue blazer break break the mold gently that’s the headline here a good sense of style is often defined by knowing but not necessarily obeying the rules just ask the trendsetters who suddenly strive to be noticed a dark velvet blazer meets the standards for evening wear without serenity uniformity pair with black dinner trousers a crisp white shirt and a bowtie and you’re in the company of notable Mavericks like not Nevada and Peck dress it down a bit with open collar even dark denim jeans and you’ll you’ll still be welcome in most Hollywood for month no hotspots there’s definitely a reason this looks pert this look persists created to glow under soft light you should only wear after dark not that you care about the rules cotton cashmere velvet blazer luxurious and inviting velvet cotton cashmere blend from nedeli in Italy in a flattering tailored cut body line and eye catching red paisley print notched lapels with angled left chest pockets to wilt pockets with flaps and lower rights and one welt pocket with flat lower left buttons match blazer color in parentheses important price 495 bucks color midnight maybe of course so realize here that the holy the trifecta two things is the hook the story and the offer the reason this is so important is you also have to take a look at having the right hook even on your bonuses inside of your offer and I’ll tell you real quick of some of the ones that Russell did just recently and at 10x we ended up having a new offer for the funnel builder secrets and part of what happened was he ended that basically telling this story of of one of the actual bonuses so bonus that you get is traffic secrets now Russell easily who’ve just said you know and you get traffic secrets which is going to give you all the tools and the resources that you need for traffic instead what he does is he goes through he tells the hook and the story of how he purchased traffic secrets and so he goes through for those you guys are in for milk John Reese John Reese was the first one to set the four-minute mile for us basically in marketing by doing over a million dollars in a launch and so earlier in Russell’s presentation you’d already talked about Roger Bannister and the four-minute mile so it ties in to the offer we now says goes back and talks about John Reese setting the four-minute mile in our industry and then he goes through and talks about how he spent over a million dollars to actually buy from John Reese the actual traffic secrets course and he’s giving that away free so he sets value to it he sets the hook and then to provide the social proof to it he also then shows copies of the so wire transfers to John for that so realize it’s the hook it’s the story the offer and that your bonuses need to have the same type of hooks and stories along with them I take some flattening did a similar thing recently with Trey Llewellyn where he was going to do a joint venture with Trey on on a product for e-commerce and Jason yeah Thursday already has a huge following in the e-commerce space he’s already a very well established person with webinars but what he realized is the hook and the story was so important that he actually ends up spending money to hire Trey to do this joint venture with so he sends trading money and shows people a copy of the money that he’s sent the check you sent to Trey and why does he pick Trey because Trey at the time is the number one selling ecommerce person inside of clickfunnels and that’s the story he wants he wants an interview with the very best number one ecommerce seller inside of clickfunnels so he can now use that as his hook and that is his story to then create the offer for his training code and it’s coaching program on e-commerce so realize that the whole idea here is you’ve got to focus on what is the hook and sometimes the hook is the journey it’s the crazy story it’s it’s what you’re going through yesterday just Russell ended up he’s wanted again he’s doing an episode for his book of Mormon challenge and he’s actually creating a hook just for one episode and this hook is the fact Russell hardly ever takes a day off but he ends up taking an entire day off to read The Book of Mormon and that then becomes the hook for his one episode and not only is it is it just that the reason he’s doing it is because of a story that took place over a hundred eighty years ago I a guy by the name of parley Pete Pratt who spent the entire God copy of the original Book of Mormon and ends up spending all this Loui his whole life stopped for the entire day because became so obsessed with reading this book and so it happened to be probably Pratt’s birthday yesterday so Russell thought you know what I’m gonna actually do that I’m going to take that challenge so sometimes you can do what someone else did and it’s your experience of that journey is becomes your hook and so Russell’s hook for the third episode was has taken an entire day off from work to read the original copy of the book mourn that he spent a small fortune on to get one of the original 5000 copies so realize whatever your business is you’ve got to spend the time to find out what is the best hook what is the story that I can now tell that will then help people understand the value in my offer so hopefully that makes sense that you understand the marketing trifecta a hook story offer have an amazing day and we’ll talk again soon you know one of the things that means a ton to me is the personal reviews that you guys leave on iTunes you won’t mind going out rate this show let me know how I’m doing just go to iTunes click on the episode and rate it leave a comment I read all the comments I’ve appreciate all the stars and everything given already left for me again I really appreciate it and it’s my way of finding out welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward welcome back everybody this is gonna be a wild ride so hold on tight I’m gonna introduce you to what we refer to as one of the crazy ones for those of you guys we’re at photo hacking live herd Russell’s introduction basically as far as the whole idea as far as clickfunnels and what our community really attracts are some of what we refer to as the crazy ones those are the people who basically get things done and with that said I want to reduce you guys to Laura echo Chiara Laura welcome to the show thank you so much my man I’m so excited oh my gosh one of the things I just love about our live events is I get the opportunity meeting people like you and it was so much fun that right after registration I walked by and had the opportunity of connecting with you you’ve got so much energy you’re out there crushing it your person who takes massive action and I really want to introduce you to our community and more importantly really have have you dropped some massive value bombs on those people who are listening so with that said let’s just dive right in if you’re okay with that yeah man I just don’t read in on a plane so yeah ready to go so with that a little background here Laura literally just got off of a private plane here she was actually out flying one of her friends connected with somebody who she’s like I have to get out of this plane fast enough so I can get on this podcast so we thank you so much for making that massive sacrifice I’m blessed so much so many what I want to talk about is this whole idea is you started off the internet marketing at the age of 16 17 basically get involved in affiliate marketing which ended up being a Ponzi scheme yet at the same time that Ponzi scheme helped you generate over 20 grand in six months how in the world did you do that driving traffic but like in the physical form like meeting people networking getting them to sign up to affiliates like it was crazy I think that is so funny cuz most time people think of affiliate marketing is I never have to talk to anybody it’s all gonna be done online you actually wrap they’re making things happen by going and talking to them and I love that idea so with that said you’d then jump from there and tried to find a way of making money online as a junior in high school I City there try to figure this whole thing out get it introduced to Ray Higdon who’s a dear friend of mine happened to be at photo hacking live did you get a chance to actually talk to him there yeah man I thanked him for everything I’m like thank you for being searchable on Google such a young kid just looking how to make money online it was crazy I love it and from that obviously was the introduction to Russell’s universe clickfunnels and all the other kind of stuff but one things I’m fascinated by is your person really doesn’t take no as an answer I that’s at least from everything I’ve gathered from you so far that’s actually what drives me when people tell me I can’t do something that’s what motivates me like my haters are my motivators so the age of 17 you go out you learn how to code websites because you thought Russell was doing websites you then learn how to do SEO and then you start learning how to do Google AdWords so you can drive paid traffic is that right yeah man how in the world do you do this kind of stuff I had nothing but time I would be alone in my room like I wouldn’t go out and play with my friends like I would just be locked in on just learning more stuff I love it so you basically your dad tells you listen you got to put this internet marketing thing as psychics it’s never gonna get you anywhere in life and you finally graduate from high school what happens next then my dad forces me to go to college and I switched my major from Business Administration to computer science like six times like and like three credits short of my AAA I tell my dad hey I want to prove to you that I can do this without a college degree I don’t need that to be successful so what does then I went to go work at Nielson I don’t know if you ever heard of them they do the ratings no course not yeah we’re there for two years they offer to pay for my college but I was like I’m not going back I’m doing this worked with them then I tried to launch my my agency the first time and I failed epically because I didn’t know how to like sell so like a service right and then I quit that job and quit of 25 or 35 a year’s salary to go sell cars so mission only like because the way I really really learn is by doing it not by reading or like hearing people talk about doing it you know so I did that and I got blessed enough that the dealership that I went to already paid grant cardone a lot of money to train us it was crazy it’s just like the universe all just happened to line up for me at the perfect time and I did that for six months and actually when I was at funnel hacking live the third day that was my one-year anniversary from when I quit my job to start my agency full-time then it is crazy it was from telling you the universe is amazing god is amazing that was surely one year anniversary a sermon it was it was awesome and I got to be there with like what I felt like was my people my tribe no it really was amazing man well I want that what you tell people what type of an agency you’re currently doing and who your clients are because you go first of all and tell people what that is they don’t have a question for you afterwards okay so we are primarily Facebook Ads and our ideal client is a med spas okay so define for people would have met by as if they don’t know um it’s where you usually older women go to get like Botox or like fat reduction procedures and stuff like that so how in the world do you go from selling cars to working with doctors and medical spas driving Facebook traffic for okay well I always knew what I wanted to do like I always knew that I was going to start my own business I just didn’t have like the skill sets to sell something like I had the skill sets to provide the service but not to been somebody that I hadn’t skilled at that so it’s if that makes sense no I think that’s complete sense and I think that’s one of the things I know sales is I think a part that scares people the most and I think a lot of people lean towards internet marking because they feel like they never have to sell anything at least not face-to-face or they don’t have to talk to somebody they don’t have to pick up a phone and I know that there’s probably nothing more difficult for a lot of people than actually handling the rejection face-to-face and I know that obviously as a car salesperson you learn that kind of stuff but why’d you pick med spas um actually my friend just told me hey this is a really good nation it’s working okay let’s go in it work man it was what’s your funnel how do you how do you contact these med spas how do you get them as clients what’s so it’s pretty charged how does that all work so I scrape loose and then I blast email them for four days and lead them all to my funnel my funnel is just as simple let me I’m gonna stop you there go back when you say scrape list what exactly you’re doing I’m going into specifically d-7 lead finder calm you type in a location and you type in a niche and it’ll give you all the information on all the businesses very like their name email phone number so you can literally just take the CSV file and save it to your computer and then upload it to whatever email service provider using like for example now you can use clickfunnels and you just send them out and you just make sure you’re you have a four day sequence of each follow-up emails and they all lead to the funnel and my funnels like a case study funnel once they opt-in they get to see my case study video and they can choose to book a call with me through calendly fantastic so you’ve got a four day follow-up sequence and in that what are what’s the email sequence all about what type of things you talking about in your sequence because you first of all have to introduce yourself there they’re gonna see primarily as a spam coming across yes so at first the first email is hey my name is Laura I can get you in front of these many people respond yes if you’re interested so they have to respond yes to get my second email because I don’t want my delivery delivery rates to go down awesome okay so now they respond yes what happens next and then from there they’re like hey I just want to make sure that you got this and then it’s the same information with a link to my funnel then this the third day it’s the same thing pretty much just like another hey like I said before I want to make sure that you got this are you interested so it’s like low-key spammy but not like really spammy so yeah in this in the third email actually include my funnel and my calorie link oh cool okay so now they come to your funnel when they land on your final is it just an opt-in page with a case study type of headline I mean what’s what do they see when they’ll get your landing page yeah it’s a case study free case study then it’s a picture but it’s a picture of like a video like that’s about to play if so like if they were to click it they get a pop-up which is that where they opt-in and then once they opt-in they go to the actual video perfect so now that land on the video and it’s the video you talking about a case study or is it a client testimonial case study no it’s me talking about the case study and then it says step 1 watch this video so they watch the video and it’s me talking about it then it says step to book your call and then I have also a bonus bonus step and that’s um if they pay immediately I waive the set of fees perfect so how much you charge on your setup fee a grand ok so your that’s a huge offer then and so how much they have to pay a meeting that you did to avoid the thousand bucks the 1500 that’s fantastic yes crazy so you’re getting all these leads basically for free yeah and going through a a four day email sequence to really increase their curiosity and have them sign up they sign up now what’s is they signed directly for the phone call or did he take them anywhere else first no directly to the phone call fantastic so now on their phone call is the phone call just with you or do you have sales people doing the calls who’s taking the calls I had sales people but it didn’t work out cuz like I gave them like ten hot leads and they didn’t close one client and I’m just like I’m Way better at this than you so learn I can’t think like that it may be to build people up so that is awesome so typically how many how many what’s your close ratio then on when you’ve got 10 hot leads how many those you close it into clients I would say 3 out of 10 that’s fantastic yeah it’s it’s not bad and like what I worked on when I worked in car sales was all about closing ratio so what are some tips you can give people about increasing their closing ratios um follow Grant Cardone which is a huge tip definitely always ask for the money like don’t hang up the phone without asking for the money 3 times like that’s one of my rules okay so if I’m if I’m the client give me a sample as far as how are you gonna ask for the money so I’d be like hey miss mr. mrs. customer so what’s stopping you from doing business today hi you know I’m just not sure if I can afford afford the the $1,500 a month right now what about you can’t you afford well I’m not sure if it’s actually gonna work I’ve had other people talking about this kind of stuff I’m just not sure if this stuff’s really is the best thing for me I completely understand and and you know what honestly if I was put in your situation I would totally have to go talk it over with somebody cuz I wouldn’t know if it worked either but what if I can connect you with someone that has been in your position and has seen massive results I’ll be great this then yeah of course boom closed great job Laura I love it so again the importance far as being willing to ask for the money closing people not being afraid of the service that you offer and I think it’s one of the things I’m I love most about the the people we met at funnel hackin live and really our community is I’ve never met anybody in our community who’s out there trying to hurt somebody or harm them or is trying to provide a service that’s not right for someone else and I think that if you believe that passionately about what you do it goes back to this whole idea as far as you have a moral obligation to sell it and to help people find out about it and I I love what you’re doing and so congratulations on your success I think I want to switch gears here and that was we were talking to offline here basically about this whole idea that Alex Scharffen totally screwed you up so for those of you who were not at photoactive live Alex Shara is a dear friend he’s been on my podcast twice now he actually spoke from stage he’s got the billionaire code What did he say that totally messed you up Laura um so I’m in the starter fade yeah the starter phase and like who is like why am i the problem is what I was thinking like literally the whole time Alex was talking on stage I thought he was in my head like listening to me for the past year okay it was crazy he knows his target audience like crazy I realized I don’t really know because I’m not happy with my clients to be like completely honest with you I think I want to go into like a different niche because like I said I got put into this niche because someone just told me oh you can make money ready but I want to actually help people and that’s where I learned at the event like it’s like helping a community that you care deeply about right and I just don’t connect with med spas and not type away I’m soul searching right now but you know I still got to keep my clients no there’s nothing wrong with that I think it’s important those you guys are listening to this realize that when what you’re doing is paying the bills that’s okay and you can use that to keep paying the bills while you you do that soul-searching try to find out what’s next how am I going to branch out it was it what’s my ideal client like and then typically it’s one of those things at least I know in my situation where I’ve had to go through and kind of try and test it out say is this the client I want I’m not sure so you try that and you go nope that’s not it either and you keep trying until finally you find those that just resonate and you’re right too alex has definitely found his niche and those people that he resonates extremely well with once I hate to comment club I’m gonna definitely hire Alec seriously I’m obsessed with his podcast like I listen to a non-stop familiar with this podcast it’s called momentum that’s Alec sharp and you can check it out on iTunes it’s a great podcast it really is not as good as this one though well I appreciate that Laura any other parting words we get close to wrapping things up here want to make sure our audience hears about um guys follow me on instagram at laura eggo chega la ura EG o CH e AGA boom there you go always be closing oh yeah man ABCs all day Laura thanks again for all your time wish you all the best and enjoy your flying thank you so much my man I appreciate you so much and everything you guys do thanks Laura Thaksin laters you know one of the things that means a ton to me is the personal reviews that you guys leave on iTunes you wouldn’t mind going out rate the show let me know how I’m doing just go to iTunes click on the episode and rate it and leave a comment I read all the comments I appreciate all the stars and everything different already left for me I’m gonna really appreciate it and it’s my way of finding out how I’m doing so if you don’t mind I’d really appreciate it and I again thank you so much for all that you guys do have a great day

welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward hey everybody welcome back this is gonna be a fun podcast I’ve got an opportunity bringing someone on who I just met at funnel hacking live miles introduced me to him and this guy’s doing stuff that no one is I’ve again never even had any idea you could do this kind of stuff inside of of clickfunnels but I get approached all the time saying oh I’ve got this cool idea and I want to introduce you to guys – Stephen Meza Stephen welcome to the show hey how’s it going guys so yeah first yeah this is a guy who basically is not a chiropractor and yet is generating leads for stem cells for chiropractors they’ve opened up over four different clinics he’s able to turn less than a hundred bucks into over two thousand dollars with his lead gen and everything else using Facebook and Instagram he’s just crushing it on Instagram I’ll give you his Instagram profile the stuff a little bit later where you can get a hold of them but I just want to make sure you guys understand this is gonna be one of those interviews that is totally out of the normal box because stem cells in and of itself is cutting edge type of stuff but to be able to use funnels for stem cells for chiropractors I’m super super excited about so Steven well let’s kind of just dive right into this okay man so okay so this is I guess a full disclosure this is my first podcast interview so where do you want to go from here I mean you know you let me start with the Instagram Facebook how I got here I mean number one so I can tell you one of the main things people are gonna be asking about right now is going how in the world do you does a guy who doesn’t know anything about chiropractic or stem cells even get started in that type of an industry okay cool so one of the things easy way says I think and a lot of the people that listen this podcast can can relate is you know you just kind of know you’re an entrepreneur from the beginning you just you just know you just know that that you want to do your own thing and I met a chiropractor and he you know his name is dr. Scott gray and he’s really big in the online marketing world and does a lot of stuff but he I explained him that I wanted to be a business a business owner and and kind of asked him what he did how he was so successful and he kind of took me under his wing he said you know I’ll let you work for free pretty much and do like an internship where you kind of just shadow me and learn how to how to drive these leads and how to create landing pages and kind of the whole nine yards and I just studied it for like two or three years I ate it all up and and I got really good at it I should say like it just I got to the point where I was successfully getting high-quality patients for doctors yeah I’m so I’m so bad at those like oh you know long story short you know let me just get out there I can tell you one of the things you have to understand is people who listen to this are going how in the world do you actually do this kind of stuff so I one things that you said I think is super super critical and my hope we’ve mentioned this a ton on this podcast before and that is the value of not being afraid to work for free and wrong I want you to kind of expand on that concept just a little bit as far as obviously as an entrepreneur you still have to pay your bills you still got to be able to make money you still have to live how do you actually work for free and yet at the same time pay your bills okay so that’s it that’s actually a really good question so for the first three years I worked at a fast food restaurant called Five Guys I would worry hamburgers by the way love those and I would work from I would work for Scott from 9 to 4 p.m. uh for totally for free like no I’m not even joking this is wholly agree and then I would work from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. well really till like 1:00 o’clock didn’t work so they had to close and clean up but Monday through Saturday and then work like a ten-hour shift on Saturday so I was like a 40-hour thing you know so I worked about a hundred hours a week all together to make it and I’m telling you like there’s so many times I thought about quitting and thought about not doing you know what I was doing and what get you going because I get this is this story that you’re talking about is I think something the real people have to understand cuz I get approached all the time your again we just left funnel AK in live to trauma Club X program people pay you know invest over eighteen thousand dollars going how in the world might have fun this and I can tell you one of the very first things anytime someone asked me is I’m telling well you got to work for free and they go well yeah but Dave I got to pay my bill and everything else and I think you have to be willing to work as hard as you just talked about 100 hour weeks I remember those days and we still do a lot of them even at this point but as you take a look at that the hard part is you’re talking years of doing this type of stuff how do you keep going when you’re frustrated through that kind of stuff and feeling like you want to quit you just have no choice like you kind of I did this just I really did this just recently like I bought a car that is a stretch you know and you just do it and you just know that it’s got to work I mean the same thing happened for me like two or three years ago it was like it was just like it was really frustrating I wanted to quit a million times but you realize like you just have no other choice I mean what else can you do if you don’t know anything I mean if when you’re getting started out like you like you said you trade your services for free or whatever training if you I mean you just kind of have to do it you have to do it until and I didn’t realize this at the time you have to do it until people start recognizing what you’re capable of that’s when you know I think that happened like a year and a half in was someone said to me these names Josh Landon actually so if you listen says he’s in a lot of marketing circles as well but he said I need one of you he told Scott that and that’s and I realized like I’m learning a lot more than I think I am and Steve I’m gonna catch up on that one cuz I I I hope people understand the importance of that so hard it’s one of those things where you can’t you’re learning you know line upon line get this little pieces here and there you really don’t think that you know that much until all of a sudden what you just that epiphany experience where are someone says hey I need a Steven I gotta find myself as Steven and I think that’s the part that I stress to people all the time is if you’ll go out and work for free and develop those skills the return on that investment and return on that time is so invaluable hear you right I mean now you’re sitting out there you’ve gone from working for free to now you’re basically working with this guys as a partner in what four other businesses yeah yeah well we have four locations and I’m still helping out on you know with with his marketing agency but yeah it’s it’s just it’s been insane it’s been a totally wild ride and it’s worked out really well so how do you make the transition from free to paid you sell it so so you you see let’s see these are really good questions I was not prepared okay so um you just I saw that he was bringing on throughout I would say the first year he was bringing on other media buyers of the people like that and he’s paying them and I hated that so much right because I’d sit there do the same amount of work the same hours and not get paid for it until you realize like once you once you realize you look better than that then you just kind of go up and say hey look I’ll do it for half so what I did was I said you’re paying this guy for a number say $30 an hour I’ll work the $15 an hour if you just give me the job that’s when I was able to like push out five guys and then you know then it kind of just kind of grew from there like now I had a paid position so now I could get some sleep at night and then and they kind of just keep the ball rolling yeah Stephen that’s fascinating again congratulations I think that’s as you mentioned before it’s that whole entrepreneurial Drive where I I don’t care what it takes you know we refer to as far as your your plot domo type of moments your letter Gold moments you’re burning the bridges whatever it takes type of deal and I I appreciate you coming on and just being just as open and transparent about that kind of stuff so tell me now that you’ve gone from that situation now you’re getting paid what are some of the things that you’re actually doing now so I don’t even you’re driving a ton of leads through Facebook and you’re getting huge ROI on these so what are the what are you actually doing so a lot of things we’re doing is is we’ve really dialed in on who are perfect like our avatar our audience who that is I mean we’ve totally reverse upended everything and like we spent weeks I mean at a time right we have spent weeks and weeks on what the perfect person would be for this kind of stuff and it’s like people 65 plus we’ve dug into they’re like targeting as far as like purchase behaviors what someone like that would be interesting I mean down to like choosing like tennis as an interest I mean we have we have studied everything I like subscribe to newspapers I’m 21 years old like I’ve like sat there and like read all kinds of stuff till I get into the mind of a senior right tell me what are some of the tools and resources you guys are using to do that kind of stuff because that’s I mean that’s a ton of data mining so Facebook once we got that all down Facebook Ads and then we take them to a click funnels landing page from there week I mean we sell them right and then we get them to submit their information and we follow up with them with a 12-day email sequence once we do that it’s like it every day is just factual stuff about whatever we’re selling which in our case is stem cells and we kind of keep it top of mind and then we follow up with them with even just phone calls text messages things like that to get these people in the door and when I say in the door we get them together for like little seminars little events so for people that are marketing like to fill up little masterminds things like that you guys should definitely reach out because I’ve some tips and tricks that you know totally free stuff I mean I just give you some tips and tricks for people want to fill a seminar small seminars where some yeah always go totally ridiculous ads fence so one thing that I do is like I’ll put at thirty thousand dollars a day and will only spend $4,000 I mean the algorithm won’t let you spend it but you’ll outbid everyone but the key there as you mentioned you got to know your avatar or the waiter to be going through a ton of cash oh yeah and you won’t get an ROI on it but yeah like the number one thing I think is like when you put it out a hundred dollars a day and that’s really all you can spend you’re not hitting your full potential you should put it on like three thousand dollars spend that hundred dollars in like the first three hours but you’ll have gotten you’ll have like we call it breaking the ice but you guys really test it like just ridiculous ad spend and you’ll get within the first two or three hours always you need and go from there i nurture that lead and take care of it and that’ll work out for ya you know I love the idea mentions far as nurturing that lead I think that’s the problem most people have is they get the lead and they burn through that lead or they forget the importance of that lead I can tell you for us leads have a lifetime value that are it’s real quick at first but then the follow-up sequences you know we talked funnel a can live about action etics empty and this whole multi-dimensional opportunity I know you made mention Steven as far as you’re not only following up with you got 12 different emails you’re sending out you’re you’re sending texts and phone calls so you have an older demographic how responsive are they to to email and text so they’re super so with text more and more actually but with email that they’re they have full-blown conversation I mean if you’re just if you’re marketing to anyone about 50 years old and you’re not following up with just an email you’re leaving so much money on the table because they already feel skeptical about putting their phone number on the computer and putting their something mean so once they if they give you that much trust to do that and you’re not following it up like with whatever you’re doing if you’re not following it up you’re just going to lose a ton of money I think once we implemented like email sequences and just having conversations with them through email I mean these not so like sales they just full-blown hey just hope you’re having a good day here’s one more fact about what we do so some people I’m sorry to keep cutting you off here but I’m really excited about what you’re talking about here and that is a lot of times people will send out autoresponders or broadcast emails without any intent to get a reply so it sounds that you’re actually asking for a conversation or or for them to reply to you so to dive in a little more detail as far as what do you what are the questions you’re asking that’s a soliciting that type of a response so we’ll send out emails asking simple questions like you know is it FDA approved what do you think yes or no about our treatments little things like here for the next ten days I’m gonna send out one fact a day about what we do if you don’t want us to do that go ahead and reply to us if you have any other information that you want us to send you just reply like I read all these make sure you leave in there like I read all of these I’m here for you kind of a thing does that like that make sense am i explaining myself yeah so art so is the response yeah is the signature then being signed by the chiropractor the doctor or is it being signed by who do they think they’re communicating with the doctor for sure I mean there’s already there yeah for sure you may think that they’re having full-blown conversations dr. fantasticks they are right we call that marketing so Stephen now that you’ve got this conversation going with them that demographic as you mentioned is really skeptical as far as putting data out online especially a phone number so how are you capturing that phone number I’m assuming you’re not doing it through an opt-in funnel you’re doing it more through email or maybe your how are you actually getting the phone number we ask for the flight bare minimum plan which is name first name email phone number the don’t I don’t think and I’d have to go back and look but I think we’re best performing funnel I don’t think it’s a mandatory thing so I think we just collect that email and then yeah we follow up with the sequence we’ll send them emails and then we’ll ask for all that then great so you’ve got an older demographic who’s responsive to you on Facebook and now you also made mention that you’re starting to use Instagram is Instagram being used in the same demographic or is this a different project no so we’re using it in the same demographic because it seems like and like with the demographic we’re in a lot of them are starting to text a lot of them are like we’ll leave a voicemail and we’ll say hey like you know we tried to reach you whatever you know give us a call back and they’ll just text back so we started running ads on the Instagram and the cost per lead is still pretty high but it’s cheaper right now then through Facebook I mean like it’s kind of a good supplements like when you use the audience Network like you’re gonna it’s it’s hit or miss but it’s always good to allocate a little bit of a budget to Instagram ads or short leave on that again I love the idea that what you guys are doing as far as going through multiple social channels taking the revenue and the generate in one area and using that augment and supplement advertising another social platform is fantastic super cool idea awesome so tell me now that you’ve got people they’re coming now you mentioned that going to a seminar so you basically you’re taking from a Facebook ad or an Instagram ad from that ad to a landing page they land on the landing page what is the offer on the landing page literally just a like so it depends on the area if you’re like in Oklahoma City we’ll just offer just to come to an event to talk to a doctor about stem cell therapy just sit in there talk to him you get one-on-one time whatever and it works really really well and more crowded markets like Miami Los Angeles things like that we invite them to places like Golden Corral say hey come have free lunch on us let’s all talk just get to know each other and let us teach you about stem cell therapy so what we’ll do is like I said like you said it’ll be an ad I’ll go to a landing page we’ll give them all the information like we give a ton of value about stem cell therapy how it’s not illegal and it’s not everything they’ve heard and then just a simple call to action saying hey if you want just give us your information tell us how many people are gonna come with need whether it’s your spouse or five of your family friends and and let’s communicate over email for the next 10 to 12 days until the event and then the day before the event we reach out and say hey she want to make sure you’re still gonna come and have lunch with the doctor dinner whatever you’re gonna do there yeah and it’s it’s turned out to be a pretty insane thing no I love that I we used to do this in the financial services industry years and years ago and I think it’s it’s fascinating you at the time we were doing a lot primarily through direct mail I loved obviously the social media makes it a lot cheaper as far as generating the lead now they come to whether it’s lunch and dinner or meet and greet with the doc is doc giving a presentation there for a certain period of time is it just open presentation for about 45 minutes to an hour and then they’ll eat while you know it’s happening you’ll answer all kinds of questions he’ll kind of you know it’ll be a full-blown event it’ll turn into something that it takes about two hours to do but it works out real well and I think that no matter using clickfunnels and putting out all that information and having pictures and for this demographic right amount a sounds like a no-brainer for anybody but it’s just you get so much higher quality of belief than you would using anything else newspaper inserts magazines radio it’s just just more tangible I feel you know fantastic so Steven tell me then what’s the call to action at the dinner is it to come to the office to come for an actual appointment are they paying for anything at the dinner what’s what’s the next step in the in the offline funnel here so one thing we’ll do at the dinner our lunch will offer a consultation so we’ll say hey this sounds like it’s the right thing for you on if it sounds like something that you want to move forward with we ask for a forty dollar donation to Children’s Miracle Network and right cool and we’ll just say hey you know it’s kind of weed out the tire kickers and people like that and and and it’s you know for a good cause you know you feel good about doing good right so we’ll offer that and the people that do sign up we’ll schedule them for the next day or the day after come in doctor and then the doctor will do this thing and and work is magic and go from there so what are the typical conversions then say you’ve got ten people show up for a dinner how many of them actually or a lunch how many actually pay the 40 bucks and then schedule at the dock out of 10 people who are by well okay so you got a 50% conversion now they come to the the office now they’re meeting with the dock they’ve already spent 40 bucks donated to Children’s Miracle Network at that point now they’re me with the dock how many of them convert to actually paying something to the dock Bob forty percent I would say okay so for so we’re basically at that point started with ten we’re down to basically to pain what is what’s the typical average card Valerie the average cost or what they’ll pay for at the doctor’s office for the stem cell therapy treating another five to ten thousand yeah mm-hmm that’s fantastic dude that’s just crazy crazy numbers it’s the same yeah I think that’s probably love so much talking with people like yourself and a lot of our to comma Club winners and now our eight figure Award winners and how many of them basically are using clickfunnels as even the lead gen on the front end and taking that offline there’s so much more money offline and I think it times people afraid to sit face-to-face or pick up a phone and call somebody or or have those types of conversations but realize you actually I talked about this a while back regarding there’s a there’s a crossover between you know marketing sales and when those two lines actually intersect the further if you’re looking basically at a graph with expense on the left hand side being your y-axis and time being your X it’s super expensive to have a sales person contact someone at the beginning where you allow marketing to do that as long as possible and that intersection the further you can push it up timewise the lower the cost is to actually bring a sales person and in this case it’s the doc well the ROI on that is usually enormous because you’re closing 50% of the people he’s meeting with where he’s not having to sit and talk to ten people to get to two he’s meeting with four and I think it’s just again congratulations on all your success Stephen well I hope people are gonna be dying to talk to you more about what you’re doing how you’re doing offline funnels utilizing click follows using Instagram Facebook how do if people want to reach out to you Steve what’s the best way of reaching out to you well the best way to reach out to me is you can email me directly at Steven ste Phe n regenerative health centers calm or just write on my Instagram if you want to just look up Stephen Meza ste pH en mes a all together I’m more than happy to connect with welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward hey welcome back to funnel acker radio this is just a we’re about a week after funnel aking live and I’m so appreciative of everybody who came up to me and said they’ve gotten value out of this podcast really means a ton to me I’ve been doing this now just over a year and you never really know if it’s of any value to anybody out there so I appreciate all those who came up to me and said they’ve gotten value out of this I again I really means a lot to me I appreciated the suggestions I’m gonna be trying to do more of some my own insights and things that would seem to be one things that had a common thread people like to hear more of some of the my travels and things done learning so I’m gonna try to do that on a weekly basis this will be one you probably get a couple of them here real quick real fast if you wouldn’t mind I would really it’d mean a lot if you could go and give me a rating and a review on iTunes just go in basically again hopefully it’s a five-star rating and a review but that obviously helps more people find out about this podcast so if you don’t mind going to iTunes and give me a rating to review for this podcast really appreciate it so with that let me just dive into a topic that is I’ve been thinking about so much recently especially a lot obviously just having come back from final acting live and that’s this whole concept of entrepreneurial freedom the freedom as an entrepreneur is one of the things that I don’t at times I don’t think people understand the value of an entrepreneur the amount of freedom that you create not only for yourself but for other people literally can laugh you can create a legacy and it’s been fascinating for me to see is I met with entrepreneurs literally from around the world who have now become his dear friends of mine just because of the value they’ve created for other people I was talking with Russell it was late one night as we were trying to rape of funnel AK in live and we’re trying to kind of come up with them a mission for clickfunnels or come with our purposes and we ended up coming up with this idea and Russell have to use it one of his slides so there’s three different things that we look at as far as what what clickfunnels does for people the very first thing is clickfunnels was designed to give you the tools to free yourself and for those of you guys who don’t understand the power of clickfunnels you guys weren’t creating websites or autoresponders or things like that you know five six seven ten years ago when things took months to get created it probably goes as little bit of an understatement as far as the value that’s actually there but most importantly to understand the whole idea behind clickfunnels is really to provide entrepreneurs freedom and that first freedom is really to free yourself there’s as an entrepreneur one of the most important things is you got to go out and free yourself financially that financial freedom comes in a host of different ways and because everyone’s numbers differ as far as what that represents for some people financial freedom is 5,000 a month others it’s 10,000 or 20,000 or someone’s even more but realize there’s a number that provides you the freedom to then either quit your dog job or to pay off your debts or to help someone else out that idea behind entrepreneurial freedom is really what click phones was created for is to give you first of all the tools to free yourself second of all is to give you the education to create your future this has been one of the biggest things again why I’m doing this podcast is hopefully that through this podcast through our funnel hacker TV episodes through all the massive content that Russell continues to provide and create that through all this content and education that we’re creating the value for you so that you can use that education to create the future that you desire in the future that you want for some people it’s not to leave their job that doesn’t that’s not the purpose but for others it is for others it’s to have enough money so they can adopt a child for others it’s to be able to to take care of their parents for other I mean there are so many different things that creating your future and what it means to you is unique but that’s really one of the things we we strive to do is to provide you the education to create your future the third thing which has really become I’m hoping those of you guys with 10 and final hack in life you’ve seen this the importance of this to us and that is to give you the vision to impact the world this is probably as I take a look at where I am in my life financially where I in my life by my age and just everything else it’s really trying to create or of a legacy of impacting the world so that when I again I’ve got four boys and a beautiful wife who I just adore but most importantly to me is I want to have an impact and for everybody that’s your vision of how you’re gonna impact the world is unique to you but that’s really one of the things we look at you’ve seen and will continue to see quite a bit of our involvement now in operation Underground Railroad we ended up doing the trailer at funnel hacking live and actually end up showing the full documentary that I’m so grateful for Nick nantan for creating that and obviously I goes without saying as far as Tim Ballard and all that he’s done to to work in that that industry but realize that for everyone you’re you have your own idea as far as what it is as far as impacting the world for clickfunnels for every single funnel that gets published we end up donating $1 to Stu and Amy’s MacLaren’s world teacher aid and we’ve been doing this literally since we began and I’d encourage you guys to to really identify what is your purpose and what is the dirt that you want to what impact you can have on the world and how is your business and how are you personally going to be able to impact that I had the opportunity of talking with my boys just the other day about the value of tithing I’ve been a huge believer in tithing and whether you look at this from a religious standpoint or whether you look at it as a financial blessing in your life there is something psychological as well as spiritual that takes place when you give away 10% of whatever you make for one I think psychologically and mentally it allows you to understand that you can live on less and that you’re not living paycheck to paycheck I personally believe there’s a ton of spiritual blessings that come into play and no matter what your your spiritual affiliations might be realize that if you are not not currently tithing and giving a tenth away to whatever charity or cause did you feel I highly recommend that you do it you’ll find that one you get more inspiration I’m a huge believer that the universe rewards you for that and whether you refer to as a universe or to God or whatever it might be I believe that as as you think less of yourself and ways that you can help either people that there’s a karma that exists and you’ll find that and I say again I wouldn’t do it just for that reason but I can tell you that in my personal life as well as in the lives of literally thousands of people that I’ve met with when I was doing financial planning years and years ago or when I was working as a as a bishop in my local congregation there is such a massive amount of blessings that come to your life when when you understand that money isn’t the driving force for you and so I’d highly recommend that you and your business or you personally find a way to impact the world whether it’s financially or whether it’s through your time or whatever it might be but that type of entrepreneur love freedom that’s why you’re doing what you’re doing is to have more of an impact on other people than just yourself realize that all their entrepreneurial freedom that we talk so much about is your own personal mission of what it is that you’ve been sent here to do and the vision that you have and how you can impact literally lives of if not hundreds thousands of people I believe that every single one of us has a purpose here and you need to be able to find out what that is and for us it’s really one of the things we look at is we want to be able to to give you that vision to impact the world and I hope that you’re understanding this as I’m trying to convey this to you in a way that I’m a huge huge believer in in a God who exists who is there to help and bless the lives of his children and I think as you go out and take upon yourself that same opportunity to bless other people’s lives that I know just as a dad of four boys when one of my boys does something else nice for her there are brothers it’s I just wanted to find some way of helping and reward them for that and I believe that our Father in Heaven worked the exact same way on a different note I want to talk to you also about an entrepreneurial mindset that exists for those of you who live here in the United States I think at times you take for granted the power of the freedoms that we have here and the opportunities that exist as an entrepreneur where you literally can go a hundred percent all-in to make something happen and if for some reason it doesn’t work and you have to file bankruptcy our laws were set up in a way that allows you to be freed from that debt to then start over and do something else again where that same freedom debt forgiveness doesn’t exist in other countries my oldest son Chandler just got married in January to finally have a daughter I’m super excited about Fran is from Chile and it was fascinating she was at funnel hacking live it’s her first experience of being at one of our events and it was really kind of a crazy thing my son Chandler ended up signing up for our two comma Club Coach it’s comical ex coaching and is basically paying for himself this isn’t some of the dads doing something he decide to do on his own I didn’t know until I got back to the hotel room that he’d actually done it but it was interesting to see in his for my son Chandler he basically completed the sophomore year of college and decided you know what Dad I’m just done I want to go out and be my own boss I want to become an entrepreneur and the irony behind it is I spoke at BYU where he was attending school with one of his professors Nick Greer who happens to be the CEO of founder of Skippy oh and Nick was his entrepreneurial professor and once he found out that she hadn’t wasn’t coming back to school he asked if he could hire him and and he did and it was fascinating to me so Chandler is now working for Skippy Oh but while Chandler was at funnel hacking live with his with his wife Fran it was Fran’s first experience having grown up in Chile not having a lot and coming from a single-parent home where her whole environment and understanding was that entrepreneurs in Chile were those people who basically couldn’t make it her mom is a seamstress entrepreneur and basically did everything she could to provide for her and her two other sisters and her and her son I mean her brother but Fran’s idea of an entrepreneur was entrepreneurs and those people who didn’t have a college education they were the people who weren’t able to to really get out from the burdens of finances and everything else they were the people basically just scrapped and scraped by to do whatever they could to make it and so to see to have Fran witness hundreds of entrepeneurs walking across stage having done over a million dollars in a funnel through being part of our two comma Club coaching or two comma Club winners and then to see 15 people walk across stage would done over ten million dollars in a funnel was just mind-blowing to her she’s like I cannot understand this I can’t believe this and it was fascinating to me I was in the gym with Russell and James on on this Monday and it was having this conversation with them about this idea as far as the purpose of an entrepreneur and the entrepreneur freedom that exists and was relating to them Franz experience and James goes oh my gosh Yatta who is his girlfriend she grew up in Mexico City and when she first met James it was the exact same thing for her Donna said I’ve never known it an entrepreneur actually made money and she goes James it’s so weird for me to see you making a ton of money as an entrepreneur and being this kind of six having this kind of success I just can’t relate to that well irony is you fast forward you know a few years later all of a sudden yada has her own business and she’s gone through and is very successful entrepreneur herself my only reason in pointing this out to you guys is to understand that as an entrepreneur your whole object and your whole purpose is to create freedom financial freedom time freedom while we were funding lack in live Brandon is a guy who basically runs insta prints and does a does a lot of our swag and stuff and he created a new click funnel shirt which basically has clickfunnels in the gears as the place where the stars would be on our on a flat on the united states flag and then have the stripe sit underneath that was true freedom and i look at that’s really what clickfunnels exists for is the whole purpose of creating true freedom entrepreneurial of freedom the freedom that allows every single person to go out and create and do and become more I just love the opportunity of meeting so many of you who literally came in from around the world and are having massive success in your own right and are teaching and are working with and helping other businesses and I think that that’s what the whole purpose of this is is to go out and to create freedom for people so I appreciate the freedom that you provide to those people that you serve I encourage you to go out and get as much freedom for yourself financially as well as time freedom as possible so you can then bless the lives and more people have an amazing day and just know how much we appreciate each and every single one of you and I can’t thank you enough for the support that you provide to all of us you know one of the things that means a ton to me is the personal reviews that you guys leave on iTunes you don’t mind going out rate this show let me know how I’m doing just go to iTunes click on the episode and rate it leave a comment I read all the comments I’ve appreciate all the stars and everything given already left for me again I really appreciate it and it’s my way of finding out how I’m doing so if you don’t mind I’d really appreciate it and I again thank you so much for all that you guys do have a great day

welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward hey everybody welcome back I am so excited there’s so much crazy cool fun exciting things happening here at our home office just got just got back from a week from spending time with family week before that was our funnel I can live in event so it’s just been a crazy crazy time but there’s so much exciting stuff happening and I just want to make sure that I share as much as I possibly can here so what ended up happening on the last week of March was I ended up coming back from funnel hacking’ live literally came back on Sunday I flew in late Sunday and by Monday we were packed up and heading down to Moab for a to participate in the spring break and the week before Easter down in Moab is the annual Jeep Safari and this is a fun crazy crazy event where literally thousands and thousands of Jeep owners come in from around the country everything from bringing you know having three and four jeeps being towed in driving their own jeeps in all of what the intent of just kind of coming together as a community and experiencing nature and all the fun exciting things about that so what was while I was there I had the opportunity spending time with my two younger sons Christian and Jackson and my wife and the four of us were just there it was really it was a ton of exciting times for me primarily because my boys love love being out and found the wilderness and especially anything at all associated with jeeps my wife loves being outside and and just participated in nature and so it was just really it was just a fun time to connect with my family especially after having worked like crazy during funnel hacking live and almost the entire first three months of this year so we ended the three months really with this massive opportunity of kind of celebration and excitement and while I was there I had the opportunity talking with with my both my boys and my wife actually about his business ideas that were coming to me we were actually on this Jeep Safari so what have you kind of just us but just a few minutes are talking about some of the things I learned I’ve experienced while I was there and hopefully this will help you in your own business there’s really no order specifically as far as importance on the things I wanted to kind of share here as much as I wanted to really let you guys know just kind of how it all unfolded so this isn’t in any specific order it was more just as far as how the events kind of came about so we were down there first day we spent time just out mountain biking having just a ton of fun out there and then we ended up coming into town and what have happened was usually we end up taking my son’s Jeep down to Moab we did that last year and had a lot of fun doing it this year was a little different because he wanted to have lockers put on his Jeep and so for spring break in for his birthday we basically treat him to having we’re having some lockers put on his Jeep and the company that haven’t do it here in Boise is the same company that I worked with to create Russell’s funnel hacker Jeep so we dropped it off at company’s name is bucks 4×4 so we drop it off at at his place and when I dropped it off the the guys basic said hey you know what Jeff the owner is gonna be down in Moab too I said oh great you know what sounds there’s a thousands of people down our debt will run into them but if we do it’ll be a lot of fun well we get there and they had called ahead and told Jeff that we were gonna be down there so Jeff reaches out to me and says hey Dave is there any chance you guys are gonna be available on Wednesday and if so let me know so I said yeah you know what I’m sure we could we’ll figure something out so the first thing I want to talk to you about here is the power of who you know and your network so we went down there with the intent really of just renting razors for a couple days and having fun out there and then also just do some a lot of mountain biking but my son Christian’s favorite thing in the world to do is to drive a jeep and to be out there really experiencing that and so I want to kind of the first topic here again is understanding the power of your network and for me I’ve had the opportunity of working with Jeff quite a bit on a whole bunch of things related offices to Russell’s Jeep as well as to my son Christian’s Jeep but more important that I’d had the opportunity of talking to him about what Curtis does and some of the things that might be of value to him in his business so again I didn’t do it for any intent of you know trying to to get something out of it it was just more he was asking marketing ideas and suggestions and tips and things it’s always just kind of giving those to him so the reason I mentioned this is while we’re there he ends up reaching out saying hey David would you mind coming out and going on a photo shoot with us and then you can take one of our jeeps and you and your family can just go out and and have some fun with us doing some crazy fun exciting things well Christian was just like oh my gosh yes absolutely well cancel everything I want to go want to go want to go and so sure enough we spent the time and contacted Jeff and it just worked out that we will do that the place we were supposed to go for the photo shoot the photo shoot the guys didn’t show up and so he said you know what forget it let’s just all we’ll go out we’ll just go four-wheeling well you have to understand now this is Jeff’s passion it’s his life it’s been his livelihood for literally most of his life and so the guys were going out with our each one of them owns their own modification company or they own a company that has a product or service totally focused on the Jeep industry so these guys were highly extreme guys who when we talked about going four-wheel and this isn’t just your typical four-wheeling you know dirt and sand and all that kind of stuff this was more rock crawling type of thing this is where we would literally were going down things that were first of all going up things that I really didn’t think a Jeep was gonna be able to get up and yet at the same time going down things where I’m again I mean someone else’s Jeep and so I’m super super cautious going oh my gosh what I just don’t want do anything wrong to this thing it was a brand new Jeep had 2,000 miles on if they had just built this Jeep and so it’s cool that they trusted us with this for me and my family to go out and do this so first thing is understand the power of your network is your net worth and this has been said a million times but I really encourage you guys start doing things that provide value to other people and as you do that you’ll find that it increases your network a ton the second thing is while we were out there one of the guys had a rock crawling machine he’d created where it little has 60 inch tires and this machine was built from nothing else besides just crawling through a ton of rocks just huge huge rocks and we were following him I was like oh my gosh so we’ve got five jeeps all in this road you know falling through this rock crawling experience and the one thing that Jeff as well as Ron this other guy that both said is Dave the most important thing I can tell you is you have to stay committed and I thought man it was funny because Christian my son goes dad that’s like a awesome experience just for life it’s a great thing to experience in life is the importance of that lesson as far as staying committed and what we were talking about is you have to pick a line so if you’re climbing up rocks and everything else you’ve got to pick a line and you’ve got to stick to it you have to stay committed says the problem where people get hurt when they’re rock crawling and doing this extreme type of four-wheeling is they start changing their mind of where they’re gonna go and they they make stupid turns or they they let up on the gas and instead of just continuing staying committed and going through it he said these jeeps and these machines are built to go through this says we’re not gonna put you in any situation that’s gonna that’s gonna get you hurt but whatever line we pick you have to stay committed to it even if you don’t personally believe you can do it he says if you’ll stay committed it the machine will get you through it and if you’ve listened to us and follow our line and follow what we’re talking about you’ll make it and I really have a terrible this terrible Eagle thing of I just rarely ever say no to a challenge and so I’m like oh I’m all-in totally I will stay committed no matter what you guys put me through I’m going through this thing and it was just a great experience to see my boys understand the importance of staying committed so in business once you pick the line and you’re gonna go for it keep going it’s so easy to quit or to think oh I just don’t think I can do it and you give up when you give up is when you find yourself getting hurt the most so staying committed was the second lesson that we learned the third one was the importance of communication communication is key especially in stressful environments and I think this is one of the things that a lot of people they don’t spend the time and the energy that they need on understanding the importance of communication of learning how to communicate effectively with people so you realize when you crawling through these rocks it’s not that we were going superfast but the problem was a wrong turn to the right or to the left literally would break an axle it would the Jeep could roll I mean this this was one of those crazy rock climbing any type of experiences in a Jeep that you literally had to do everything right and so it was fascinating to me that it wasn’t turn your wheels to the right or turn your wheels to the left they changed that to where the communication was passenger or driver and so every turn was you know what hard right was never ever used it was hard passenger passenger passenger a little more of a passenger a little more the passenger because everyone knows when you’re driving or I mean it was really easy in a Jeep you know which side the passenger and the driver’s side is but people always mix up their right in their left and so I found it fascinating that the importance of communication and language and so while we were out there we have this great experience of learning the importance of really staying committed and then understand when you’re communicating with people to use language that takes away all ambiguity and so as a driver it was really easy to understand which side was my driver’s side and which side was a passenger and so they would say passenger passenger passenger or three more inches driver driver three more interest driver it was just fascinating to me to see how that was all doing the next thing then was the importance of a mentor and I can’t again I’ve heard me talk about this a million times but the power of a mentor is one of the things I have always believed throughout my entire life you will get so much further in life by following someone who has already been there before you or who can see what you can’t see and this is one of the things that was really quite fascinating to me because here we had Ryan who basically had this rock climbing machine 60 inch wheels that literally could go over everything and anything well we started going down this one area that literally there was no way in the world the other machines we’re gonna make it they just didn’t have they weren’t built for this so here’s a guy who’s got tons of experience and you’d think he’d be able to do it all himself and the very first thing he said is listen I need someone to guide me through this and so what ends up happening is we got another person who’s got a ton of experience as well stands in front of him and is able to see what he can’t see just because of how how high the rocks were and just the awkwardness of where it was and it was one of those things where it wasn’t always continuing going forward sometimes it was stop you’ve got to go back you’ve got to get realigned for this before it you got to get a different line you can’t take that line and so the idea here and really what we learned was the importance of understanding if you go with people who can see what you can’t see your success will be a million times greater the fascinating thing to me though actually was the roles became reversed in about 15 minutes where Ron now be kid Ron now became the guide for the guy who has been Ron’s guide so here you would think well the person who was guiding wrong the first time as he was going through it would know exactly where to go but again even though he’d had the experience of guiding Ron when he’s driving it it’s a totally different experience he couldn’t see and so because of that he had that get occurred see where he was going so in your life right now whatever it is you’re trying to accomplish realize there’s people who have gone before you who you can either hire and who can guide you through that or there’s other people who may have experiences that you don’t have and they will see things that you can’t see so be humble enough to be willing to take that kind of advice and more importantly seek it out find people who have gone before you and basically give you that type of advice and making sure things work well that was one experience this next experience was a crazy crazy crazy experience where one of the right one of the experiences down there in Moab is this ride called Hell’s Revenge here now instead of Jeeps we were in razors and we were racing all over this place and with a razor you can go a lot of places the Jeep can’t go just because of the suspension everything else but the flipside is also true just due to the size of the tires and the suspension everything else there’s certain things you just there’s no way in the world a razors gonna attempt well as we were going through hell’s revenge there’s one place where they said listen you cannot go down Hell’s Gate Hell’s Gate is one of the places you just cannot do in a razor and no problem so we get to Hell’s Gate and Hells is about a hundred and fifty two hundred foot climb and it’s all with I mean the vertical is just crazy because it’s you literally are using your tires on the sides of the walls to climb up these huge crazy rocks up to the top of you’re going through Hell’s Gate to get up to the top well we came around this corner and for some reason we decided we just go take a look to see if anyone was coming up well as we go over there we looked down this 150 200 foot drop and there’s a guy who is literally had flipped his Jeep and he’s on its side and he’s now just starting to walk up and like oh my gosh are you okay just totally freaking out me this is a again a huge Jeep with probably probably close to 60 inch tires as well but because he took the wrong line and everything else he had flipped and he’s it’s on its side and he was able to get out but the way it’s positioned there’s no way in the world this Jeep is getting out by itself and so he came up he’s in complete shock has no idea what’s going on and he just he’s asking for help because I’m okay but I I don’t know how I’m gonna get out of here so I then took off on a razor went to go get another another Jeep or something to help and it was fascinating to me just keep this real quick here we ended up getting one Jeep that was way too small but by having that one Jeep sitting there it kind of became an alarm to all the other jeeps that were driving by well all of a sudden we now have probably about 10 or 15 other jeeps who are all sitting there and now crowds are gathering on both sides up and down the cliffs dying to see what’s going to happen here the amazing thing to me was the importance of confidence and it’s really the lesson I want to bring up here as far as the business if I had learned here and that was all of a sudden this one guy who walks up and says hey anybody don’t worry we’ll get you out of here and it was the confidence and the way this guy said it where it literally it put everyone else’s mind at ease it was the most bizarre weird experience it was he had such confidence he knew exactly what was going to happen and literally within just a matter of minutes he brought three other jeeps into position all of a sudden we’ve got three winches went down this cliff tying into this guy’s Jeep and it wasn’t just tying into it was it had to be in certain places and he literally was guiding each one of the winches and where it had to connect to and making sure that it wasn’t on an axle that was on a B column and making sure that everything was done safely this is a guy who had such massive confidence in what he was doing to help this other guy get out that the instant leadership everyone else just basically sat back because this guy knew exactly what he’s doing my only reason mentioning that is to understand there are certain things in your life where you’re gonna find that confidence even if this guy didn’t know exactly what to do because of the how confident he what he was it put everyone else’s mind at ease and when you’re a leader and you’re or as an entrepreneur and you’re guiding your company realize that there are times when it may look like that Jeep is gonna roll and it’s gonna go down a hundred feet to the bottom and just be smashed into oblivion where you literally have your everyone else is looking to you and you’ve got to have the confidence to help them to feel a little comfortable if nothing else that you know what listen I know this looks like the Jeep is gonna fall I know it looks like we’re gonna this product’s not gonna launch I know all everything is stacked against us but trust me I know what we’re doing here and we’re gonna make it through and it was just fascinating for me to see because of how confident he was everyone else’s mind was so put of these and the intensity of the emotions where everyone’s hearts were just palpitating oh my gosh this thing’s gonna some people could die I mean it was a crazy crazy situation everyone’s mind was put at ease the next thing I learned was the importance of teamwork and it was fascinating to me we’re Lily this guy who had all this confidence brought in three jeeps and you had each one of them he basically told them exactly where to go to make sure that the line from their wench down to his his Jeep was set up properly and he everyone basically listened to this guy and they all worked together as a team to her literally these three jeeps pulled this other Jeep up a hundred feet up this crazy rock cliff and without destroying the Jeep it was fascinating to me I was like oh my gosh it was crazy and so my own reason mentioned that is to understand the value of a team we started off with just one Jeep and I think as an entrepreneur sometimes you start off as just a solopreneur and when you’re that solopreneur you literally as much as you want to do it sometimes you just can’t do it by yourself and all of a sudden when the one Jeep was pulled away and we brought three other jeeps in those three jeeps together had it wasn’t just the power of one it was the power of all three of them became more like a power of 10 or 15 or 20 people pulling this Jeep up and I think it’s important as an entrepreneur and in business don’t be afraid to work as a team and whether that’s when you’re first starting off it and you’re outsourcing different things you don’t have to do it all don’t try to be that solopreneur the next thing we learned was the importance of culture and I have we joke a ton about and clickfunnels here about the idea as far as culture and really kind of building that cult but if when you’re sitting there in Moab and all you are seeing are thousands and thousands of jeeps all you see are Jeeps it’s I’m sure it would be very similar to going to a Harley Davidson convention or go to Sturgis and anybody doesn’t have a Harley it’s kind of feeling like they’re just out of place it was the same situation here if you didn’t have a jeep you totally felt out of place if you have a I saw some you know Land Cruisers and I saw some some trucks where they literally just didn’t fit in and it was just fascinating to me to see how important the culture the whole jeep culture was you got thousands of jeeps and everyone wants to belong to this whole Jeep culture yet the irony to it was as much as everyone wants to belong to that culture everybody also wants to be somewhat unique and every Jeep had its own modifications every Jeep had its own things that were unique they so they all started off as a Jeep but everything even though they were part of the same culture they all had done unique things to help themselves stand out and I think that’s what makes clickfunnels in our communities so much fun is everyone works together as a as a culture but at the same time everyone has their own products their own services and own things that are unique to them so those were seven of the business tips that I learned from the Jeep Safari one bonus I’m gonna toss in here and that is just the power of getting out in nature there’s my wife loves studying yoga and chakras and all that kind of stuff and I’m sure there’s she knows a ton more than I do on this kind of deal as far as chakras and the importance of being grounded and all that kind of stuff I can just tell you that when you’re out in nature it just clears your head you receive inspiration I came back so overly excited to get back into work but also just motivate with a ton of new ideas and suggestions and things that we can do that’s gonna help us build clickfunnels even that much faster so I would highly recommend that you guys especially I mean I’ve spent a lot of time in big cities and I love love the excitement of a big city but there’s just something powerful about getting out in nature and I even right now I’m barefoot here in the office I love walking around barefoot I love having my feet touch the ground I love just getting dirty and having fun being out in nature and experiencing that kind of stuff I just believe there’s so much health and vitality I mean this planet was created for us to enjoy and to get to know it better and I think the the importance of us personally spending time out in nature at times these days kind of gets everything is all about virtual reality and everything else there’s nothing more important to me than actually experiencing real reality of getting your feet in the dirt and the sand and and just having fun and I’d encourage you guys to take some time get involved in nature take a break from what you’re doing and just enjoy it again I think you guys so so very much for all all that you guys do to support us at clickfunnels but me personally I can’t express enough gratitude as I was at funnel hackin live and had so many people come up to me and comment that they had listened to this podcast it really touched me a ton I’ll do a different podcast more about that but for those of you who listen I do want you to know how much I appreciate it I hope you have the best of luck and all that you’re doing with your work and your business and your dreams and your everything that you’re going for know that you do matter to us here at clickfunnels but most importantly you matter to the people that you serve and you have a mission and I just would hope that as you’re out there that you’re you’re going forward you’re doing everything you possibly can to serve those people who welcome back everybody this is gonna be a fun episode I want to talk to you guys about a billion dollar dinner I had on a yacht check this out welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward that’s right it was the craziest day I’ve had in a long time and this was what we ended up I was down at traffic and conversion some good buddies of mine ended up pulling together this dinner yacht cruise that had the largest group of people with the highest value net worth all together on one boat I think I’ve ever been on in a long long long time if ever so what happened we hear some backstory is two good buddies of mine Pete Vargas and Keith Yackey who have known for years last year when we were teens he invited me to go out on one night basically a couple buddies all got together chipped in and we just did a fun little yacht cruise around San Diego harbor and last year was a ton of fun I was probably I don’t 20 of us on on the yacht just driving around and again it was just for networking just for fun it was towards the end of TNC it just just had a great time met some additional people I hadn’t known before just kind of developed a lot of real good friendships well this year Keith reached out to me and Pete and said hey Dave you know we’re gonna do this yacht cruise again this year do you want to go on I’m like yeah of course I had a great time last year that sounds fantastic said all right perfect make sure you’re on time and all other kind of stuff I said yeah no problem guys not a big deal so then all of a sudden I’m start walking around T&C and I start hearing other people talking about this dinner York or this yacht they’re going on I’m like are you going on keep them Pete’s yacht thing yeah yeah I’m going and you’re going to I’m like so reached out to Keith I’m like Keith how big is this boat cuz last year wasn’t that big he says oh we got a little bit bigger boat than we had last year I’m like okay no big deal so right before I’m supposed to show up to it I went down to the docks and all of a sudden I looked line and this line begins forming I’m like what is going on this man I know how big the boat was last year there’s no way in the world this is gonna work I didn’t know if Keith has a boat and Pete had a boat or what was gonna happen and then all of a sudden Keith and Pete could walk around the corner like guys what’s going on it goes Dave you’re gonna love this check this out and so we walked down with him before everyone else kind of got on the boat he says check out that boat and at the end of the pier was this double story that’s a three story dinner yacht cruise and they basically put together and I’m like you guys have got to be kidding me cuz yeah we invited a hundred people on the boat for dinner I’m like oh my gosh you guys that’s insane there’s no way in the world and then all of a sudden I turn around and I go back to see who’s basically coming on the boat and these are awesome of my the people I’ve known for years and some of the people who I’ve been dying to get to know and they literally are like the who’s who of online as well as offline marketing just great great people people who literally product-wise have sold hundreds of millions of products some into the billions and it literally became a billion dollar yacht dinner cruise and as fun as it was but I really wanna make sure you guys understand is all the cool things that happened all because of this so first of all we get on the yacht we’re having dinner and while we’re sitting there before dinner you know everyone’s just kind of networking drinks everything else then we go down to have dinner and I’m sitting down at one of the tables at the back of the boat basically and Keith comes over and goes so what do you think I’m like I think it’s fantastic you guys did an amazing job because so we’re gonna basically take some time here and have people just kind of network I’m like I mean it really curious to see how you’re gonna get all these people Network goes well check this out so he and Pete get up and they basically do this quick little introduction saying listen guys three years ago we came to traffic and conversion together and not and we did not know a single soul is the first time we’d ever been to traffic and conversion event and we decided that together somehow we were gonna get to know the very best influencers at this entire event and we’ve spent the last three years Network like crazy and this evening tonight is the result of our three-year pursuit to get to know the very best in the industry and he said what we’d like to do tonight is we just want you guys to have fun and he said you know what in fact next year we want to invite all of you guys back and oh by the way Dave and clickfunnels are actually gonna be sponsoring next year’s event and I’m like totally I mean Pete totally threw me under the bus props to him for basically having the huevos to do it in front of a hundred of my peers and friends but it was actually kind of a kind of cool thing so yes next year talking Todd Russell the rest the partners and will be sponsoring their fun little dinner yacht cruise but what I really want to make sure you guys understand is the way that they did it is the magic and that’s the part I want to make sure you guys focus on it’s not the fact that there is a these crazy amazing people on this boat it’s the fact that they went out of their way literally for three years to start networking and providing value and Keith and Pete have provided so much value over the last three years to people whether it’s to making introductions to other people and it can realize no one paid to get on this yacht that night it was just a free dinner that they had put together to basically celebrate for them what was an amazing experience of really understanding the value of people and so they spent a whole bunch of time going through that and then the great thing is because of the friendships that so many people have had and the value that Keith and Pete has given to these people over all these years there was all the egos were left at the door and all this kind of became starstruck about the other people who are there going holy smokes I can’t believe Pete and Keith you got everybody on this boat and the greatest part was at that dinner what I ended up doing before the dinner came I said listen there are cards on everyone’s table what I’d like you guys to do is write down a question that you’re struggling with in your business or something you have want to answer for and we’re gonna take the first 20 minutes here and just see if someone in the audience here will be able to answer that question for you it was amazing I couldn’t even believe it there was not a question that didn’t that couldn’t be answered whether it had to do with relationships with finances with anything in their business people getting that someone to say hey someone have an answer for that question and two or three hands would come up and they would take two or three minutes real quick and say this is how what I would recommend this is what I would do this is what I would do and the value that could just continue to exude from everybody was just it set the tone for the whole evening work all people were doing was sharing it wasn’t about no one was trying to one-up each other it was because everyone had set up the situation as far as developing true friendships and relationships that had value and they were all there just to help each other out so my only reason bringing this up is I get questions all the time about how how do I get to know people well to me there’s there’s really only one way of doing it and that’s through a value exchange and I really encourage you guys to spend the time to get to know people and a network and to make networking have fun and if you’re not very good at networking spend the time to just pick a couple people and ask for them to introduce you so you don’t have to be the person going out of your way one of the things I can tell you that I’ve seen happen a ton recently and that is it’s the value of digging your well before you’re thirsty and what I mean by that is you’ve got to go out of your way to provide enough value to people that when you need to call on a favor it’s like a bank deposit you literally have to have more money in your bank than your will then you can take out and you also always need to make sure you leave a reserve there you never want to be in a situation to where your relationship is bankrupt and the reason I tell you that is you’ve got to make sure you’re always giving and giving and giving and giving that giving comes through so many different ways sometimes it’s through an introduction to somebody else others it’s just by being yourself and providing value when you talk to people and see people going out of your way to help and lift other people the value that gets created through that is crazy crazy cool again huge props to people Argus and Keith Yackey for an amazing evening they went out of their way and I think the greatest part actually was just to see what they were able to in three years by providing massive value to so many others so I’d encourage you guys to go out and do the same provide value to as many people as you possibly can we Russell I were joking around about it earlier today as far as the whole idea here is even through a lot of the content you can did to create the value that gets out there that value what through a podcast whether through a Facebook live no matter what it is that value gets sent out and people use it in their life and you’ll find that by doing those types of things and Russell’s actually gonna have a one of his presentation finally I can live is gonna be about this topic about how to actually use content in a way that systematic creating massive value that actually not only helps drive traffic but it helps you build your business as well so if you’re going to funnel hacking live by all means check that out if you’re not find someone who went and get get their notes but bottom line is it’s all about a value exchange profit Keith and Pete and again I wish you guys all the best in your business and remember you’re just one funnel away you know one of the things that means a ton to me is the personal reviews that you guys leave on iTunes you wouldn’t mind going out great this show let me know how I’m doing just go to iTunes click on the episode and rate it leave a comment I read all the comments I appreciate all the stars and everything when you already left for me I can really appreciate it and it’s my way of finding out how I’m doing so if you don’t mind I’d really appreciate it and I again thank you so much for all that you guys do have a great day

welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward hey everybody welcome back to radio you guys are gonna freak out today this is gonna be one of the funnest podcasts I’ve done in a super super long time but I have a lot of fun guest this one is the world’s greatest actor preneur you’ve ever met and a guy who I am so so excited to bring to our audience you I’m sure if you’ve ever seen anything as far as anything like Beauty and the Beast or Phantom you’ve heard his voice this is the number-one phantom of all time he’s been on phantom for the last three years as the Phantom leaving Broadway has now an entrepreneur he was the Beast and buting the beast with all that James barber welcome to the show thanks man it’s good to be here I am so excited to have you it was so funny I actually met James for the first time when we were at Grant Cardone it’s 10x walking down the hall and my buddy Keith Yackey is like oh man you gotta meet this guy I’m like dude I’m having a podcast with him soon I’d love to go meet him no it’s just great to have you on the show but most of all I’m so excited about what you’re doing because you know people say all the time well gosh you know you have to start off with a simple product and it only you do these types of things I’m like no no you have to understand clickfunnels is being used by people in so many different industries and your industry is like one of the coolest ones so I’m just gonna just dive right into this tell people what you’re doing and and kind of how you’re taking this thing where you going with it yeah well thanks the interesting thing about my industry is that you know quite frankly it’s it’s one of the most difficult industries in which to survive that’s the entertainment field and I give a statistic you know there are different unions there’s a Screen Actors Guild for film and television and then there’s Actors Equity Association for the professional stage actors you got all these Broadway performers well there’s a statistic that the Union for stage actors put out that the top ninety one percent the top ninety one percentile of all professional stage actors make $50,000 a year or less that’s before taxes 91 91 percent that’s the 69 percent makes $15,000 a year or less before so I started looking at I’m going man that’s crazy right there’s only 1% that make over $100,000 a year 1% and ma I am in in the person less than 1/10 of 1% of what I’ve done so I looked at it and I look at the fact that there are so many artists out there and so many you know people that have these dreams but they give up their dreams because they can’t survive long enough right and there are people that teach them out of act and sing and hold a camera and shoot a you know should it be and so you know costumes or you know or whatever you know make make you know fashion design but they don’t teach them how to survive so I created this thing called the thriving artist seminar where I sort of broke down literally the steps not the acting not that this is your resume this is how you get in but literally how do you survive because even if you’re in that 90 percentile of stage actors and you’re making after taxes 38 grand a year living in Manhattan survive I’ve got it and I’ve always been this person to sort of self start and the final product that comes out of this seminar is a chapter called create something and it’s literally where you take whatever skill set you have and go and create something right and then they’re like okay great I can do a concert or I can make a painting or you know I can do this great fashion design but how do I get people to see it and I’m like clickfunnels right you know what’s that so I started saying we’ll wait a minute there’s an entire world here look even if you just build an email list and you’re a singer right you can build an email list of really cool stuff by putting out videos and you know all this kind of stuff and build your list and then you announce a concert if you have enough people that concert is gonna be sold out in one day look heck I do a concert in New Yorker you know pretty much anywhere where I build put it out I twenty five minutes and it’s because I have enough enough followers that are interested in what I want to do and then what I did was I also built this brand called your star power which was taking okay I’m gonna stop you right there because I don’t think people understand how big of a deal that is to sell out a concert in 20 minutes off of your own list is absolutely phenomenal and I know even when we were sitting there at Mandalay Bay you’re like oh yeah I do it all the time it’s no big deal like whoa you don’t understand how what a huge deal that is to sell at a concert in 20 minutes just because of the power of a list that you build on click phones I’m unimpressed yeah it’s amazing and you know all it is is look you obviously have to drive traffic right and you have to you have to provide some sort of service well if the service is there and people are following you look you know if you have somebody who’s got you know a hundred followers on on some sort of Facebook page and then you build and you build a new building to build each one of those people tells somebody else right so for me what I did was I realized like with phantom I was in front of 1600 people eight times a week for over three years and when I calculated the numbers of people that I’ve been in front of it’s literally tens of millions of people that are coming to see me and I went oh my god I’ve had a wasted opportunity you know to put something out there to capitalize on it right and so that’s really what it was and that’s what was empowering for me because I see these these young artists or even these older artists old look I’m gonna be 52 in April right I have these people that are my age like I don’t know how to do it I’m gonna go and try to audition I’m like well you can still do that but look if you if you build your following you you’re gonna you’re gonna stand yourself in good stead because then you can you can cut out that middleman and you’ll be able to do stuff while you’re waiting for the next gig if that makes sense James I’m just so excited honestly I think it’s just fascinating because I run across people all the time who come up with all these excuses and I think the part I love most is you are like about eliminating every excuse possible just to go through your dreams I think it’s the coolest thing yeah look I did this video and I said to people you know you know and I did this survey I said I asked like 150 200 people I said do you have a dream in 99.9% of them says yes and then I then I say okay well have you achieved it in 99 percent of them say no oh like there’s only like one president yeah I got my dream and then I go why what stopped you you know and it’s fear it’s not knowledge it’s whatever it is and they hit these obstacles right so if we can provide them with the tools to go hey you know here are the tools that you can do it with it’s not that hard you know you’ll have to connect the dots and have some coaching and all this kind of stuff but when I looked at clickfunnels dude and we talked a little bit about the you know the other company that and it was so daunting and I’m sitting there cuz I’m you know I got some people to work with me but when I first started doing it I was a one-man band and I looked at clickfunnels and I looked at action edits and I was like and I still have people work with me like my buddy Michael duck who’s gonna come with me to the event you know he has a thing called Duff web right this guy was one of the lead singers of the band chalk farm and he said techie geek and he’s like he’s a quick funnels crazed guy right but if you have the simplicity of what clickfunnels is I mean it literally is just going whoop I need to actually trademark those sound effects I think James the part I’ve I love it’s even because sometimes people make these super elaborate funnels and you and I were just talking even about your star power com so if again go to your star power com while you are and then STAAR powr com that’s as funnel it’s a super simple phone it’s what two pages it’s two pages yeah so the whole premise behind that is to unleash the star power within yourself right because you know obviously I come from an artistic world you know the actor world of a former world but everybody I speak to without question has always said oh I’ve wanted to do this or I have this artistic vent within me if you’re a CEO if you’re a network marketer if you’re you know YouTube or whatever you are you are your product right and so what I said to these people is like look when I walk into a room it’s it’s me I’m not selling an iPhone right I’m selling me so if you’re a car salesman and you’re selling Ford’s the first impression that’s gonna come up is you with with the client right so how do you make that first impression so what your star power is is is teaching those things that I’ve learned in my business and taking them into the business world to to create stars in your field whatever field that is but it’s a simple two-page it’s just a free pdf that lists three items you are your brand presentation and story telling which is basically about communication because if you can’t communicate then you’re not gonna be able to sell anything you’re not gonna be able to even talk to somebody and then the third thing is removing the obstacles because even if you have all these skill sets and you have these obstacles whether they’re mental physical or you know someone saying you can’t that’s your dream you have to be able to remove them so they can actually go and implement those things so it’s a free pdf they opt-in boom there’s the email right and then a quick Thank You page and so that’s all it is and I’m just capturing leads and then will go out and reach out to them for the other bigger programs later simple I love it oh my gosh it’s again the whole idea here is just you got to build your list that’s the most important part we talked about all of the time I’m so excited to have you at frontal hacking live for those of you I’m gonna try to see if we get this posted before that’s well that’s actually in five days I don’t file get it posted before then I’m gonna try to because I want people to see you and meet you while you’re there and I’ve heard about you if I put you on the spot to sing something on my show right now is that something you could just do the whole thing maybe you figured out what I’m singing the final hugger a lot I don’t I need to get Melanie in here pretty quick because she wants to go there to seize the moment this is the day when I send all my doubts and demons on their way listen to this one every endeavor I have made ever is coming into play it’s here and now today that’s why I like that song you just take the action now you know if you are just still amazing oh my gosh thank you love having you eat seriously it’s just awesome well as we get close kind of wrapping things up here for the the podcast anything else want to make sure people know about or where they can reach out to you anything else hey you know just go to your star power comm and you can always go to James barber calm that’s all my performance stuff and eventually we’ll be running you know all of the click final stuff through there but you know guys all I’m gonna say to you is this in general and I run into it every time look I work in one of the most difficult professions in order to succeed it’s not the most dangerous I’m not out like you know our buddy Tim Ballard who is going to be at the thing you know saving lives and and things like that and not a police officer but it’s a really daunting profession it’s the only profession we can legally discriminate you know as an actor like I’m six foot four you can have the job you know because like I’m never gonna play Muhammad Ali in a movie you know I mean you know it’s a pretty tough tough profession but all I can say to you is even if you have a dream you have that dream but you have to take action in order to achieve it and you know to me that’s the that’s the vital thing action creates traction and where you get the action as far as I’m concerned it’s stuff like clickfunnels it’s implementing these programs that are there for you to help you get to where you want to go and if I can help you get to where you want to go that’s my thing I love helping people just reach out and I’m here I couldn’t say more than that James thank you so much you got a brother good to see it you know one of the things that means a ton to me is the personal reviews that you guys leave on iTunes you won’t mind going out great this show let me know how I’m doing just go to iTunes click on the episode and rate it and leave a comment I read all the comments I appreciate all the stars and everything different already left forming again I really appreciate it and it’s my way of finding out how I’m doing so if you don’t mind I’d really appreciate it and again thank you so much for all that you guys do have a great day
