you’re thirsty in the morning by golly you need some coffee and just to give you a perspective there we go milk how much that takes a half a gallon of coffee this is urologist approved man I mean those are days you supposed to drink hey hey none but anyway yeah there you go we’re good amazing well welcome everybody to photo Friday’s we’re excited to have you guys here we got Facebook Instagram and you – yay Jim Edwards this huge monkey head hey I don’t talk smack about you well I’m pump man II spent a little loss as if on Fridays you can I travel in the world welcome back thank you and you yourself as well can I take this off yet or do I have to wear it for the whole thing you can take it off will allow you if I pass out and fall out though and we’re in trouble hey but speaking of monkeying around what are we doing today on funnel Friday’s well today we’re going to be helping the GPS boss to cell with GPS stuff what are you guys you want to tell us about the product this is teenage kid that is perhaps I don’t know at the kegger all night or across town and you can want to find them or perhaps if you are married to someone who is cheating on you instead of going to mari Povich and having some sort of a lie detector you can have a Throwdown in the parking lot of the cheesy motel where you find your car at 3:00 a.m. in the morning so there are all sorts of social and other benefits to this product like part of the benefits like hey if this happens to get the cheating spouse and you catch them but you stream it on Facebook alive then we’ll give you a product for free afterwards or reimburse you I would actually pay for that oh I would – absolutely yeah I think that’s a great idea if you catch your spouse cheating in the act and you shoot Facebook live as an ad for us we will give you your monthly feedback you know I’m kind of shocked I don’t know what you’ve been doing for the last month but when I said that you know we need to find a new angle I say you know we could do the cheating spouse angle but then this is Russell’s show and he’s not really going to be into that and we’ll just do the watch your teenage kids thing and now you’re all over that like you know so I feel bad now I just hope it’s someday I can be on one of those shows like Jerry Springer more you know what else she in fact I know Jason Moffat I know the name yeah he was on Jerry Springer I know so one day I watched a vesl and the very end of use Tom’s life story he’s like this was me and pass and I she cuts this clip of Jerry Springer showed he runs out the big ol like beer and he’s like and he was on the actual shown as part of a vesl it was the greatest thing ever saw my life anyway holy yeah I just I think you might want to put the brakes on that little life goal because nothing good ever comes from being on one of those shows man they get you with the DNA the paternity test the psycho ex-girlfriend I mean there’s nothing good comes from those shows do they show part of the makeover I mean no wedding yes prior to makeover yeah that’s when you end up with your spouse telling you they’re in love with a farm animal it just does nothing good comes from that I’m just telling you if you get a call from one of those shows do not respond and by the way everyone who’s watching home Jim does have his hat on warning you guys about defensively offensive things so we’re prepared there it is that’s right yes yes there’s our all right come with a warning warning I will more than likely offend you at some point so you’ve been warned all right with that said read back to the show so today I’m photo Friday’s we are gonna be rebuilding this thing from the ground up to make it amazing right yes or at least functional least functional okay so I’m over here I messed up I’m gonna switch to screen sharing mode I think Mike remember ready to do this and so while you’re doing that just to let everybody know basically what we’re gonna do is we’re going to reposition this thing after to go after a much more specific market because somebody is just scared that their car is going to get stolen I mean I’m sort of scared mine’s gonna get stolen but I don’t worry about it too much but I do worry about I have to I had at one time two teenage daughters who like to come home late and I would have loved to have been able to roll up on somewhere and know exactly where the car was and either take the car which would have been hilarious take the car and then they’d have to call me and say someone stole the car or just to roll up and pull them out of the party in front of their little friends you do a good times for all all right right I’ve started the eight timer so we got 20 minutes to build this entire funnel to make over again start this thing and time is going alright now tell us I’m gonna start building out the funnel I think by looking at this is one page fun what you see right now yeah we’re just the VSL style yeah just a via I think a VSO her about mmm I’d say 30 minutes cuz she doesn’t have a big old coffee cup and so then right before we jumped on here I took two minutes and I actually recorded it would you like me to would you like me to record it would you like me to just read through it real quick or do you want to show your screen what’s up no you keep up yeah reader time student boring stuff yours awesome okay so I’m gonna those same results here is your host Dave Woodward everybody welcome back to funnel hacker radio you guys are in for a ride of your life today this is gonna be so much fun I’m so excited and try to get calling on the show for a while Todd’s a guy basically is ex-military been a soldier he’s extra benefit fitness model more importantly he’s amazing dad husband father he’s got two kids and he’s running a thirty million dollar company on stuff you would never even think was possible to sell so call him welcome to the show yeah thanks for having me Dave it’s an honor man now are doing huge things and it’s just it’s so cool that I’m able to you know have so much synergy with someone like yourself and click final so I’m super excited to be here alaa thanks well let’s just kind of dive right into this here call so tell people about what it is what is redline steel what do you guys really do yeah so first of all stop stop stop I got to say I’m sorry he’s gonna tell you what he does this here is what it is this is one of my favorite pieces just got this in the mail from him I’ll let him tell you all the details about it but this rocks so you can get one of these to go to redline steel calm I’m sure it’s there but anyways so yes so you have the one I think it’s like an 18 inch or 24 inch I’ve got an eight-foot flag you can kind of see oh cool so it’s it’s pretty crazy but so we uh I started this company redlines steel back in 2016 and it started as consulting so a lot of you know a lot of synergies you know I’m part of your your clickfunnels groups and there’s a lot of people are just trying to find their place you know that they enjoy helping other people but they don’t really know exactly what vertical that they want to be in and so I started this whole company based on consulting I was at the gym working out with a good friend of mine Colonel Neely and he had a piece a steel piece done it was this baseball he was swinging the bat just like this and he can see his son’s name engraved it then you know my son Carson he loves baseball and so mark Neely he showed me that piece and said man you’ve got to get this for your for your son and so I reached out to that company and he said you know I could do it for you but it’s gonna be about 12 to 14 weeks I said okay you know that’s yeah and at that point is I kind of just was like all right whatever that’s that’s cool and he said I’ll reach out whenever I you know get caught up a little bit more right and so I just said okay no problem at that point about five minutes went down the road and he reached back out and said holy it’s Colin Wayne I didn’t realize it was new so I for those of you who don’t know me I’ve had some success from fitness modeling he’s being super super humble here so let’s talk about what your real successes are calling yeah so just a short brief history prior military served almost seven years made staff sergeant at 23 years old so I was only six years in from there I got injured in Afghanistan on my third tour so I went to Egypt and in 2008 I went to Iraq in 2009 2010 and then Afghanistan in 2012 I got injured and ironically in the gym so I got blown up I was in the pack tikka province which is right on the Pakistan border and there’s so you could think of our it was almost like a horseshoe of mountains so think about mountains all the way around you and we’re at the base of it and so what would happen is on a date and this happened all the time I was at a very very small base we had to about two platoons so about 85 people there and we were getting rocketed and this was very consistent so we were kind of used to that but there’s precautionary measures of this but this happens he would take cover and like some type of bunker well I was working out at the gym and the IDF alarm sirens started going off you can hear it and you know I was already in a concrete shell because the walls itself was concrete but the the roof had it was just wood right and sheet rock or whatever the wood paneling is and anyways the 107 millimeter rocket came in from the Pakistan side impacted about three and a half feet from me and there the grace of God man I’m still here so I got I got some injuries that I sustained from there I got shrapnel to both arms I got I got I got blacked out because the concussion of the blast was so heavy my head hit a couple of plates like because I was in a gym very very small gym there’s like the size of my office and then I had shrapnel that went all the way through my legs so I’ve got like a two inch exit wound that’s is the dish tore all the way through there I got medevac’d to a base really close to there it’s called organy spa Bowie and I was there for about 1415 hours my oxygen levels started to the window and go down so they were concerned that I had internal bleeding and I couldn’t figure out why this was such a small base that they didn’t have all of the equipment that a traditional like emergency room would have right they have they just yeah I mean it’s bare basics they call it almost like a TMC like a treatment Medical Center so at that point they were very concerned because even with oxygen I was in the low 90s so they critically rushed me to a big base called Bagram which was about two hours away I believe and I stayed about five days at that hospital and they they addressed a few things come to find out they gave me too much morphine and so that that ended up restricting my blood flow and so that depleted my oxygen so that’s that’s what ended up happening man so I went back home and did about six months of physical therapy and then at that point I transitioned out of the military still trying to find my way I didn’t know exactly what that was and I’m from Alabama right so I’m not from like a massive big city like New York City or LA or Hollywood or anything like that but I started a shot with the local photographer cuz all throughout like high school and like I always told that you should try modeling then I didn’t know why and I’m like wait what am I gonna do in Alabama you know like what can I do here there’s only so much you can do and but I did I shot with the local photographer and it was at a gym because I was into fitness and I took those photos uploaded I’ve made a Facebook page and within 30 days I had over a hundred thousand followers and so this was a really really critical time this was back in 2013 and so this was right before Facebook started to charge for advertisements 2012-13 time free and so there were algorithms there were none right so it was there was there was a snowball effect so if you got 200 followers and you posted a picture and everybody liked it now everybody that like comment or share it continued through and so we created a monster really really quick but I was able to utilize those platforms because within six months I had over half a million followers and so we just kept growing it and growing it I didn’t really know what I was doing right but I started figuring it out and started transitioning to Instagram and Twitter and cross promoting and started collaborating with different social influencers and then I started making my way into the fitness side but utilizing my own platforms as a leverage tool to acquire whatever that I wanted so whether that was whether that’s you know getting shoes sent to me like I’ve got some $1,100 custom Jordans that are awesome I wanted them to the cinema time I got like product glasses that they just send me just right so uh but I did the same thing with magazine covers so I without a PR firm and without a agency I direct approached different publications and I leveraged myself because I set my value at this and so I basically put myself in the in their shoes why do they want to work with me there’s only 12 covers in a year how difficult can it be to work with men’s Hoffman’s that this mean you’re competing in thousands and I had no clue you know anybody on the inside that’s a big play in it but I was able to obtain over 50 magazine covers within about three and a half years it’s just stopping this direct approach and so you know any advice that I could give to anyone out there whether you want to be a model or not it doesn’t matter you could take this and run with it in any direction direct approach anything that you want in life it doesn’t matter what that is customers are not going to come to you if you’re trying to sell a service what offsets you from everyone else provide value at such a high level that you know they there’s no reason why they would want to work with anyone else and so I did that same thing and that was a service provided I would take things a step further instead of publications giving me a talent fee right and traditionally we would get paid as the model I would let them know keep your money I don’t want your money I want to work with you I want to build a rapport you know what I want to work with you for years to come I would take things even further and say look if the photographer wants to charge you a license fee I’ll cover that so and it certainly I would take because I know that credibility is so massive I mean when you can put that under your belt and say no not just in the magazine but on the cover of men’s health mints that this Iron Man muscle in fitness it’s a statement and now when you’re trying to acquire contracts you know I was able to acquire six-figure contracts like it was nothing so it worked out great that is so cool so now of a sudden you’ve got this this steel piece of an artwork that you want it’s gonna be 12 to 14 weeks the guy calls back says holy cow it’s cold Wayne yeah what happens next so he’s he says I can do it for you this week and so somehow he made a schedule work right now we we ended the conversation by saying he said I’d love to be at your level one day because at this point I’d already had some success because you got to think I started this company in 2016 so this was late 15 got out of the army in 2012 I believe so I’d already had a little bit of time to build myself the name right and so I started doing some consulting with them because I knew like look this is an awesome product there’s obviously some supply chain management issues 12 to 14 weeks you didn’t give me like any how could I how could you reach back out to me but let’s say I was a real customer you know in and you said it look I’m gonna reach back out in you know whenever I get caught back up but I didn’t fill out the form I didn’t submit anything there was nothing from a retargeting standpoint that was gonna find new there were some missing steps until I brought them in and we started talking over the past not three months and I made him an offer I said you know I I really like what you’re doing you you’re really good at the the micro things like with your hands I’m not this is a plus screwdriver like at all my mom primarily raised me how’s it a split home in tolson’s just basic tool knowledge is it that’s it but I wanted to focus on a company that basically cuts things out of Steel and makes beautiful pieces of artwork out of steel and you have no handyman skills that’s that’s 100 percent accurate yeah but it didn’t it didn’t scare me I was still gonna do it not gonna do awesome at it cuz I believe anything that I touch I’m gonna give it 100 percent you can’t go wrong with that so I made him an offer I said I want 51% of your company and before y’all pass any judgment hear me out I’m the type of guy that if I’m gonna get involved I said I’m gonna give you a hundred percent right so that means that everything else is on the back burner I’m gonna make sure that my focus is going to this now my focus can only be to certain things at that level if I can put my finger on it and say this is the final decision this is what its gonna be so it had nothing to do with the revenue share side of it but more of a controlling standpoint because if I’m gonna get behind it it’s got to be the final set and so that’s that’s probably what I believed in but I made a strict term I said I’m gonna do six times revenue of what you did your Pat are this past year and if I don’t I’ll give you back your company 100% somebody wait I want to make sure we restate this so you guys through coaching this guy you’re asking for 51% of his company with a guarantee that you six times his annual revenue in the next 12 months or he gets his company back and you walk away correct 100% and on top of that I said all finance all of the equipment needed to scale and I’ll do it at no interest so just no interest at all but I’ll own the asset right so then I can amortize it and do a fast track imitation then if we if it required a larger space cuz he already had a facility I said I’ll finance that entire piece and sell finance so I’ll take I’ll be the bank right that’s not an issue my thought was if if this isn’t where I want it to be in 12 months because I’m gonna no it’s gonna take a few months to gain some home and I’m just like anything else but I don’t want to be a part of something I’m willing to just give it up because I I know what I can bring to the table and I can’t get there then there’s no point in continuing to a lot of my time as I value my time that much more so then at the same time I’m a firm believer that you put your money where your mouth is by contributing so much from a value perspective that it’s a no-brainer and so at that point he said hell yes and who doesn’t want to grow 600 that was an exact look and the day we were supposed to sign he backs out you’re kidding no he backed out he said he tried to he tried to renegotiate and I’m I’m one of those guys that it’s I already felt like I’m giving him more than what I should have even though this was a pre-existing four year old company at that time I just knew what I could bring to the table and so yeah he he backed out and that changed the dynamic of everything right cuz I don’t i don’t know tools i don’t know i didn’t even know how to set this stuff up I didn’t know you know I knew some basic stuff as we started from the consulting standpoint I wanted to see a supply chain management just to see what issues we could address but primarily I was focused on the macro the bigger picture of the marketing and sales and driving revenue and the larger picture of things he was going to focus on the design side the cutting the manufacturing powder coating the the grind and so that in an instant it shifted but I’ll tell you that the very next day I went and bought my first CNC machine had no clue where I was gonna put it this is like three days this isn’t a 110 this isn’t a 110 outlet eveness plug in your garage like you need an air compressor you need a screw compressor you’ve got to have a dryer you’ve got to have you know there’s a lot of stuff that goes into this and but I had no clue at that point but I went and bought one and I didn’t have a building to put it in but I knew I had about four weeks for the manufacturer to have that machine ready and so I thought that was my deadline I said this is my cap I’m gonna find a building and I’m gonna make sure that it’s gonna fit the needs of me scaling and I also knew going into it that I wanted to sign a short-term lease so I can litigate that risk that liability and also because I know that if I touch it it’s got potential and so I didn’t want to be locked into a building for five-year terms in year term if I know I’m gonna scale and so I did just that I found a building about probably less than a week I found a building securing it put a deposit down and went ahead and move forward with that they delivered the building the first month I would say I was just trying to figure out how to turn the thing on like that was the biggest challenge of this entire company was and that was in January of 2016 so I didn’t launch my website until June of 2016 so really when you look at us as an e-commerce platform and that’s 99 percent of our revenues been through there or EECOM we’re less than a two year old company where we’re about 20 21 months 21 months and doing 30 million is that correct yes that’s ready million at 21 months all out of steel artwork 100% and it’s all made right here at our shop in Huntsville Alabama and I just saw the the new shop how large is this new shop so you know so I’m gonna take you back we still taming was 5,000 square feet we scaled into 10,000 square feet which was a building right next to it and that was that was in a matter of about six months we were there at that building right out of year so from January when I signed the lease of 2016 to December so it’s 11 and a half months I signed the lease were in right now which is 15,000 square feet that’s five zero not one five zero 50,000 and now I just signed a lease purchase option for 14.7 acres and 110,000 square feet so that congratulations I mean oh that’s crazy cool stuff so tell me how in the world I mean so you’ve gone from five thousand now to over a hundred thousand square feet in less than two years and this is like physical stuff everyone always says well clickfunnels you can only sell information product you’re selling thirty million dollars by the way you’re part of our our eight figure 10x Club and I need to get you a new ring so so we’ll talk about that later but in the meantime tell people how are you using clickfunnels and what do you do I mean that’s crazy stuff because you got shipping involved you’re a fool it’s not like you’re out there doing an arbitrage thing where you’re buying products low and selling high you’re actually manufacturing the products we’re doing all of that so tell people are saying how that works yeah so I’ll walk you through from from a marketing standpoint just so people can kind of connect on like how we’re making clickfunnels work with our Shopify website so we run everything on Shopify what I’ll do is I’ll come up with specific products so say it’s Christmastime and I want to sell this specific ornament right we’re gonna sell a 10 pack of this for $20 whatever what I’ll do is I’ll build a specific landing page in clickfunnels in I’ll you know I know I’ll make sense of urgency oh right now I’ve got I want people to fill a psychological connection I want them to know that my personal goal and I’m really putting myself out there is the individual or the face behind the in that my goals have to be in over a million homes by the end of the year and so a lot of my funnels what I’ll do is first time customer acquisition so my prospect marketing right cross back marketing is your first time customers and we’re trying to convert them to have a high LTV and so what I’ll do is a low-cost item so say anywhere from ten dollars and below then I’ll build a landing page and so 100% of our prospect marketing is done from flip phones I’ll build a landing page and get several different options for different color variants same product different color variants we call that a fishbowl strategy so we only want them to go to the product and see just exactly what they saw on Facebook so if they saw Facebook advertisement for this particular piece I know that they’re they’re obviously intended or interested in that piece or they wouldn’t have clicked at that point you know I’ll what I do in click funnels past that point is I’ll take the iframe and I’ll embed it to my website because what I want to do is have that pixel in place for my retargeting strategies derbycon will also do I’ve got opt-ins exit strategies and other things in place for know my Shopify website that wouldn’t be if I were to have them on a specific landing page um we’re gonna work on that way we’ll get you all over to clickfunnels soon but we’ll talk about that later okay and uh well you know I’d love that because transaction fees are eating me alive Shopify frode’s but it’s uh it’s good man so we use click funnels a hundred percent for our prospect marketing so what we’re able to do is this turnable a low-cost item with the perceived value at two to three times what that cost is so that’s the sense of urgency or the impulse to buy because it’s such a great deal and what I’ll do at that point is once they convert I’ll do post purchase upsells and down sales which is taking you know anywhere from five to ten dollar items because I’m gonna take a loss the back one once you factor in my shipping cost my marketing attribution cost the costs for the actual item itself in the to fix everything here I’m losing right and I’m fine with that because I understand the LTV did I know that my products are so awesome the quality behind it once you receive it you’re gonna want to buy something else and so I just trust the system I trust the process and you know I use that to my to my best interest because I know that they’re going to come back for the most part then we’re such a new company it’s hard to pinpoint what our LTV is but it’s you know I can tell you right now we’re almost 40% on repeat customers which is crazy yeah especially this time I mean it’s it’s an impulse buy it first you’re taking an impulse buy from Facebook into a a 40% recurring customer I mean that’s calm congratulations that’s huge oh thanks so how are you nurturing that relationship with them so well well do a lot of different retargeting strategies but I’ll do a lot of segmentations so about 38% of my revenues actually drive from segmentation email marketing and so I’ll do so one of my highest converting funnels right now is I’m doing a free plus shipping product and so I built this and click funnels and so what I did was I made it where the customer has to enter their email address to get a specific link for them to get this item or a demon now whether they redeem it and actually get the product or not it doesn’t matter is that that point I already won because when I got their pixel – I’ve got their email address so as long as you have a good retargeting strategy you could always look at it as an active strategy you’re winning no matter what every day as long as you’re collecting that data and you know what to do it but I’ll do from Livan several different pieces we’ll do this free plus shipping units it’s worked out tremendously his work we’re able to collect about a thousand of 1,500 emails a day just through this method so that’s a huge list getting massive 300 yeah we have over half a million now so so are you sending I mean typically come type people are gonna then send him a catalog and they’re like I’m through it and stuff are you from your segmentation are you finding those people who like certain things and then you’re guiding them down specifically to certain products or recommendation wise or how are you doing that great question so what I’ll do is since we manufacture everything it makes it extremely easy so we’ll sub categorize it so you know what we’ll have like a religious line and so we know that if somebody bought this god is good peace they’re going to be interested in other religious quotes or Jesus cross or whatever you know with our distress battle flags we know that if someone purchased this or add it to their cart or view content we’re going to show them other things within that likeness so we’ll do different retargeting strategies from email all the way into Facebook and Instagram as well as dynamic google retargeting and then Shopping Network for display the wool will do all of that and so I want to also say up until April the second every dollar that came into this company I did myself I’m the only marketing sales rep so I’ve got so we’re talking a 33 0 30 million dollar company all built by us the sales guy correct up until this month I hired a firm out in California to help me scale because I don’t wanted to focus on the supply chain if my constant my attention it’s constant on one dynamic I can’t focus on the big picture but like it’s this is my passion I love marketing and sales like I love getting in front of the camera and talking about what it whatever it is that I’m trying to sell it doesn’t matter if it’s socks or underwear or a t-shirt or you know a steel piece I’m gonna sell it and I enjoyed that side so I’m still the one doing the videos and add content that they’re doing be you know the monitoring the inclusions exclusions and all of that so fantastic it’s work extremely well yeah I would say so it seems to be doing real well congratulations any other tips or suggested you want to give to our listeners anything as far as entrepreneurship or even funnels or anything else yeah so I guess my biggest thing that I has a takeaway is guys make sure that you have a great retargeting strategy and try to automate that as much as possible so when you talk about you know actively getting somebody to your website or to a funnel what are you gonna do once they’re there if they don’t convert industry standards to percent on conversion rates what can we do to proactively once they’re there increases conversion rates even higher and if the people that drop-offs let’s say the other 98% what are we doing to retarget them on the back end so make sure that you have those three things locked in place and if you can have those three things you cannot lose I promise you active reactive proactive you’re gonna win every day I promise and it’s also consistency is so so big you know so this is my philosophy 30% market ads men for customer acquisition and that includes prospect marketing so across the board that’s I you know whether I lose on this particular product I’m gonna win on several others right if I go above that 30 percent threshold I’m just myself and so that pushes me even further so I think that it’s kind of like having that mix that mix saben for anyhow Bama fans out there now I’m sure I’m making some people upset but it’s just that consistency man even if you’re winning something’s not right go back look at everything but make sure you have those three things in place and it’s gonna make your life so much easier if you can automate it and try to build your segmentations yeah it’s just everything else falls into place again I totally totally agree there we’re we’re in the same situation from a software standpoint and it’s always because I talked to these growth equity private actor guys are throwing one throw money that’s all the time they can’t understand why we don’t want to spend all of our money just on 120 $135 free trials I’m like because it’s coming off our pockets yeah yeah it doesn’t work that way and so we had to get smart like you did and again the whole idea as far as whether it’s a self liquidating offer kind of like what you’ve set up there and allowing that often – I love that number as far as 30% that’s that’s crazy and I think one of things I’ve always loved about what you do is you know your numbers I mean you totally totally know your numbers and I think it’s what’s up I’m sorry I was gonna tell you something else that’s crazy so it sounds like you’re big on analytics yes yes guess what my cost of goods sold is this is just getting a little bit here I have no clue so it’s uh so I’m gonna define it cost of steel cost of consumables cost of powder coat so the actual piece itself once it’s complete so let’s say like your flag that you held on so I’ve got an 18-inch distressed distressed battle flag here which is absolutely beautiful I know some of this is gonna be recorded and it’ll be as a podcast you won’t be able to see this go check out redline steel calm and you’ll see it there but it’s an absolute beautiful piece thank you so yeah so across the board if you were to baseline all of our products we maintain a 7% cost of goods sold oh my gosh seven percent yes and so that’s what makes it very unique and different for us to scale and grow as a company is that you know we’re able to spin a little bit more money on a marketing attribution cost because we can offset that now you know I’ve got millions of dollars of equipment on the outside to manufacture all of this so you know it takes money to make money and we’re constantly evolving and flipping and buying no I just put in a purchase order for a new automated conveyor system with the infrared tunnels and auto cooldowns Auto sprays and rephrase and what that’s gonna do is it’s gonna drops from 7% you’re gonna see we’re gonna be talking about a year and and this is gonna drop from seven to probably 5% and so I’m gonna I’m gonna continuously is the more volume you you know we’ve done we’ve done over probably two and a half to three million pounds of steel so buying so much volume that it’s it’s like really really low at this point so you know and you know it’s crazy is that like my competition but but we’re an entire blue ocean market strategy which is amazing that’s another conversation but it’s it’s awesome because my competition they’re like what you’re selling it for I couldn’t even buy the raw material and so we we’ve created a monopoly is what’s happening so it’s it’s really an interesting place to be and ultimately my vision is that we’re gonna be a billion dollar company within the next seven years but we’re just taking steel and we’re gonna duplicate the same core principles in the wood bin canvas then it’s also gonna be something that I would love to potentially you know for anybody listening and yourself included date is discuss potential you know I think drop shipping could be massive you know within your audience and what what we have to do here so it could be future talks in the next couple of years as we scale and grow as a company because I think there needs to be better drop shipping offers within the United States with made in America subtly agree I think that it’s a missing mark then you know I want to play into that side so we’re looking at doing that as well we’re not at that point now because we can’t keep up with the orders coming in the door I mean it’s it’s great well I love it so basically your competitors can buy their products from you and still make money on it that’s right I mean we sell it wholesome we sell it at such a reasonable cost to try to proactively drive conversion rates high right I mean I’ve got funnels that are converting above 30% so it’s Nene dude if I had more equipment to make this stuff I could have been a 50 million or 100 million company by now so and you know I’ve done all this without a B C or no extended lines so it’s it’s growth pains I’m trying to balance what’s coming in the door and what’s going out but like I said a few minutes ago like I’m the only one getting cells in the other 39 people are trying to get everything out so they’re trying to keep up on me obviously that’s a big pretty competitive race at your office then try to keep up with you I’m sure yeah that’s why I’m trying to buy more equipment to Colin I can’t thank you enough I get I I look forward to really getting to know you much better over the time here we’re gonna do a lot more together those same results here is your host Dave Woodward alright everybody today’s experience is gonna be literally life-changing I always I I pride myself on usually having a I think I have at least a decent amount of energy but the guy I’m not ready to bring on the show here so far surpasses me energy wise that I’m like I don’t know where this show is gonna go so with that I want to introduce to you cowboy Ryan who is basically one of the has become a dear friend of mine but you’ve obviously you’ve seen him on Shark Tank he’s a business partner with billionaire Daymond John so cowboy Ryan welcome to the show some of that what an introduction and I better live up to my potential and make sure that I at least try to keep up with your energy they will never forget the first time I met you at TNC 2018 like you were over there doing a video and I’m like no way like that’s that’s Dave no way TV radio and I was just like oh my get a chance to literally just me photography Jude I was so excited ever I was I like like I’ve been watching as a show for a really really long time and I’m like wait hold on played I was starstruck when I saw you’re like I maybe there’s a chance this girl talk to me now hurry I’m doing the interview with you I just want to act like you if I could have abs like you I my wife would love me to death I’m sure well you know what it’s really really really simple no it’s not no it’s not it is not simple ionize them that is a lie okay you know what you’re right it’s not simple but it is just like building a funnel okay let me ask you be honest is building a funnel and making money is it simple at this point what I’ve done yes but I know when I started it wasn’t what but that’s that’s my point exactly what I’m saying like like now that you have the experience you could build a funnel with any product any business and and you could turn profit on it but it’s the experiences that you’ve had and it’s the trials and distribute tribulations and it’s the failures it’s the oh this is the 48 funnel I built and this did not work what is the problem Dave everything in life is a system and especially in business it is a system and that’s what I couldn’t be more excited to be on this interview with you because you know I have purposely surrounded myself and still surround myself with the best of the best in the world of business because you guys that are so much smarter than me in business and you’ve been doing it so much longer you can compress decades of me learning this into J’s that’s the secret so it’s so funny you’re like well I don’t you know it’s it’s hard to get abs like you actually it’s not but it’s a system and if you follow to the tee it’ll it’ll work every single time why how do I know I’ve been a personal trainer for 15 years and I’ve had 40,000 people lose 12 inches in 12 workouts okay like literally and and but it’s a system it took me a long time Dave literally to figure that out so you can get them it’s just a system well part of that system I know does not include donuts nor does it include chocolate chip cookies so I had to clear my office of all bad stuff so it looks like there’s bars on the window maybe then that’s the daycare actually they keep those kids is they don’t come over the office so that’s awesome so so tell me because what I would like to do is really maximize your time maximizing your listeners time but really just deliver some applicable stipulations or distinctions that they could go oh what and like literally by the time this interview is over they could go that’s it I need to do that or awry overlook this I forgot about that well let’s talk so the great thing about you as you mentioned you’ve had the dealing with some amazing amazing entrepreneurs who not aren’t are just you’re you know typical millionaire type of entrepreneurs you’ve spent the last five years working almost side by side hand-in-hand with Daymond John on not just your cowboy product but I got products as well and you’ve also been getting become very good friends with Tony Robbins been out to Fiji been spending a ton of time with him going to four different live events so let’s kind of focus on those two and the business lessons that you’ve learned from Tony Robbins and from Daymond John awesome perfect so what I’ll do is I take you on my Shark Tank journey it was a long journey they say getting on Shark Tank is actually harder than getting into Harvard now I don’t have a chance of Harvard so I said so everything in business it comes down to your mindset and it comes down what your goals are and it comes down what your focus is and comes down to then what your massive action is so when I applied for Shark Tank for season four Dave I had this winning workout formula to lose 12 inches in 12 workouts like I said 40,000 people lost 12 inches in 12 workouts and I’m like wait man I have the answer I have the solution to cut down people to workout times from an hour to a half an hour like I’m like I have this but what do I do with this and I knew nothing about the internet I seriously thought you could not make money on there I thought well you you know eBay and Amazon they make money but that’s it right so I said I’m gonna apply for ABC Shark Tank because then maybe I could get on a bigger platform and I can get a hold of someone that could really go cowboy this where we do with your program here here’s where the lesson starts I went through six months of interviews with producers over and over and over to really prove to them that I had to beat out 36 thousands and other businesses who apply they never heard it’s 90 and but what is my goal and the producer said what is your goal and I said guys here’s what my goal first is not my goal is not to get money money is not literally gonna do me any good it’ll help a little but once you burn through it it’s over I said what I want to get out of this is a mentor and one of the best mentors in the world in business to make money isn’t a millionaire it’s a billionaire and I said that’s what I want out of this to get one of those sharks to just see something in me and partner with me and say yeah let’s let’s do this let’s let’s ride together and because that was my goal along the six-month journey I stayed true to that goal and my real reactions my decisions when I was in the shark tank it shined and that’s what came out these these sharks well four of them and they just saw someone very high-energy and entertaining EE for sure but what Damon saw was he saw the fire in my belly he saw the fact that and at the very end actually Damon was the second person out if you watch the episode but that’s not how they edited he was a second person out and I was literally standing there all sharks were out they all said no and I was just standing there shoulders back head up chin up proud like like just looking everyone of them go that’s a no that’s a no that’s a no and they all turn their head and like yeah that’s a no and then I hear this voice in the background the producer going cowboy you got to leave cowboy you got to exit the stage and I don’t one who I wasn’t leaving finally I said you this will not be the last you see of cowboy Ryan I said this would I learned in rodeo you can buck me off you can’t keep me from getting back on and I turn and start to walk out and then I heard gaming go cowboy all invest in you and it was that was a game changer that was five years ago but here’s what I learned from it after I met Damon few months after the show and I was it was really cool he’s really short guy compared to me he’s just very very complex of really down-to-earth and got like a hold of gold for other people which is amazing like he cares so much about other people and I was so excited said gaming madness can be exciting we’ll take my lose 12 inches and we’ll do this we’ll do that and I’ll be the next tony horton p90x whatever he looks at me and he goes cowboy hmm he goes I know nothing about fitness he wants a couple hood hospice I believe what’s five CrossFit any times I don’t cross fits and I’ve never been to India and I’m like what wait you just said that you’re gonna invest in me and you don’t know how you’re gonna help me you’re not in the India in the fitness so then Dave I was confused but remember I’ve been on the show to get a mentor not money and so then I said well then why did you invest in me just curious he goes listen cowboy the lesson begins I’m gonna teach you how billionaires think and he said I have passed up more multimillion-dollar deals in my life because I did not see myself being friends with that guy I did not see myself wanting to go to barbecue with him wanting to you know talk to him on Christmas or whatever and he said secret took to a successful business to senior to a business that you you are just juice and you’re so excited to go to work each day you don’t call work is when you’re doing something you’re passionate about but you’re doing it with your friends and he goes so that’s what I see with you he goes uses look like a fun guy to hang out with well yeah I’d say I’m pretty fun pretty fun to hang out with he goes let’s just become friends and he said you know what I don’t know we’ll do some date download I’m sure we’ll do something together because but let’s just start with Fred sounds like that’s fine he goes oh yeah by the way all my friends they’re all now millionaires okay well let’s go on on this fringe journey hey I wanna stop your there cuz I think one of the keys that a lot of people kind of miss here is what you just you talked about but I want to make sure people understand that value as far as friendship is too often people are so worried about the end result and again we we joke around about it all the time you know people will buy from people who they know like control yeah but there’s more important that as far as business I mean I take a look as far as being a partner and click files and everything else I have a eight-year journey of friendship with Russell prior to click files absolutely just hung out we did different things he and his wife would come down to Southern California on their anniversary I mean and it’s we became friends way before became business partners and I think that so often people forget they’re so worried about the end result of getting that buck that I again lesson number one from the billionaire become friends with those people who you want to work with Dave you said exactly and you hear it all the time know like and trust and you know what I don’t believe in that I don’t believe them know like and trust scratch that it’s the this is my friend okay and so your customers need to become your friend your friends because guess what if they’re your friends then the know like and trust it’s there yeah yeah yeah you know and in all sense so chant your question yes exactly it is a friend chip that you end up creating because now all of a sudden you’re excited to work with a person and and you’re excited also to go to work or go do whatever with that person because you’re hanging out with your friends and and so that’s where it started and you know what I was I said fine that that’s what I got out of shark tank I’m just friends with the guy and there you go this is awesome well right for the show I just through website together I didn’t know anything about websites and I had to run some workout videos and just downloads and diets like I had I just they threw stuff on a website and literally within a few weeks we did like 80 grand which was mind-blowing I did everything wrong I did everything backwards I mean I like my my website was a mess right now here’s here’s here’s the sad part now that I look at it now that I understand that the power of quick bundles the upsells the down sells like what you guys do the power of it that eight hundred grand I’m sorry that 80 grand could have been eight hundred grand and then right now I could have a seven eight feet a year business but I don’t because I just didn’t know I did she was like you not can I get the app I didn’t know I didn’t understand and what’s been really cool is over the last several years you know my websites and I’m just getting going with qlik husband what my websites I’ve done about $750,000 in in in videos and workouts and this and that but listen it is here’s what’s amazing when you are on TV one time like Sochi on a national platform and nine million viewers and then it’s been rerun on CNBC like oh yeah like the world they know who you are but again it’s I didn’t know I went into the show going I want a mint or not I’m a website expert but you’re right it is that friendship that you end up creating but what end up happening is then for years I just ran my my gym I had a little 1,200 square foot fitness training studio and Daymond just kept saying hey cowboy I love your training philosophy that’s awesome actually I put him on my program in the next season he was in the best shape pretty awesome here’s the mistake really quick talk about a system here’s the mistake he was making I went to his office in New York he has an office on the 66th floor of the Empire State Building and so he has a workout gym there so he got on the treadmill and he started walking and I put a heart monitor watch on him and during the treadmill his heart rate was too low and then he went and did the workout and his heart rate was too hot and said it’s real simple yes Pete you walk up a little so you burn the fat and then during your workout we got it slowed down low so you burn the fat boom there’s the system that is listened that’s a magical for me like you got a workout in your heart rate so you burn the fat so he just kept pushing me saying you need to create guys this gets good when I tell you this you hear me what B he said you need to create a franchise model he said can-can you need to build me a model that is very inexpensive to duplicate so I I thought of idea thought of idea I thought of idea but I just kept going I got what I want I have a billionaire mentor and he’s told me to create a franchise model so finally did I rodeo Don the pro rodeo circuit for about 14 years rode the bucking horses it was like you know we were in the best sheet of our lives and tymberlee because after the ride you had to run for your life and climb up and I said wait that’s it so I went to the farm and ranch supply store in my town and I bought one of those paneled fences this is the six bars talked to my gym bolted it on the wall and then I made a little workout around it and then I put my clients on it and said just try this tell me what you think of it and a kick their butt like they’re like oh like you squat on it you climb up and down on it you do pushups on it so I literally whip date hmm I’ve created a franchise from a cell phone I took the cell phone I shot a quick video 15 seconds I sent it to him on his phone he answered me instantly reply back and he said that’s it that’s the workout equipment build a franchise around that and I’m like for real so I did and then I went out another reality show of Jillian Michaels and I took that fence on her show and he was on Spike TV and the creator of t-rex traps were Randy Hedrick like they were judges on the show so I had to work them out and I work and Jillian hated the fence she’s a did it why because it kicked your butt on TV she threw it in the garbage and right so I was on the show for six weeks and I won a couple rounds and I got I won the category of the most results this guy lost 26 pounds in four weeks and then and I and I didn’t win the show but I came home and then Damon texted me guy it is so cool to like get text messages from Damon John my kids will see him on TV and then like there’s Damon and then all soon you get a text from him and like he was in Denver he text me and we went to dinner and he was like hey how’d the show go and I was like I went okay I was like but Jillian didn’t like the fans and she thought it was a terrible business model David shook his head and he laughed he goes she don’t know nothing about business she’s never built a business and he goes besides manager brand anyways he goes I love the fence he goes can you build me a showroom model for under ten grand I was like under 10 grand I’m used to living on pork and beans and black coffee and during the real lean times you just live on the black cotton and I think I can do it for five he goes no way so he said look I’ll loan you five grand now this is about three years into our friendship okay and I’d never gotten ate any money from him nothing he goes I’ll tell you what I’ll loan you $5,000 to go build it out he goes by the way that’s a loan good exact but if you can build it for that do it so I did I built it and then now is my experience with the first clickfunnels I got off so now found clickfunnels and I built a funnel for my first gym I ran some Facebook Ads to it and literally within a month or two I had a hundred and thirty members at this location and then I opened the second one and it was a coolest experience ever next thing you know I have three hundred members within like three months in two locations and then then I told Damon I sent some videos of these new gyms it was like I love it he goes I’m I’m gonna go get ABC to do an update on shark tank of what you’re doing so he came back and so they did an update on shark tank and then after that we got Entrepreneur Magazine got ahold of us Flores Magon got ahold of us and they did a story and then we’re on the ABC update of shark tank and we started yet I started getting all these phone calls people wanting to buy a franchise person I got to 40 I got about 50 people like one of my frat date you gotta understand I’m a broke cowboy that rodeo fence idea and and I built a franchise around it because my new friend Daymond John is like just build me a franchise so so I built one right so I’ve got like 50 people stand around with their checkbooks going how much is this franchise I’m ready to buy one and Dave here get this the David goes o cowboy by the way because I don’t know a damn thing about franchising you’ve gotta be kidding me I’ve been on this journey for like two years building this franchise maybe won’t stand on money you don’t know anyone franchising it goes no he goes but listen you’re gonna learn how a billionaire operates he goes I don’t have to know anything about a franchise he goes all I gotta do is know somebody who is an expert in franchising and then we will create a new friendship we’ll get to know each other and if it looks like it’s gonna work out then we’ll create this new franchise and I’m like okay he goes give me a couple of months and let me find somebody come on Slater he brought me these guys that they have a company called I love kickboxing they have about 700 yeah does it look like bro Mike yeah Mike and Nick Mike and Nick yes so he introduced me to those guys I flew out to New York I met these guys I got to take a tour of their headquarters and I was blown away because I had this vision of if you could open these small gyms and do an internet launch first and sell passes and then open the gym like that’s the way to do it not open the gym and then spend a bunch of money to try to get people in the gym cuz I was a trainer for Gold’s Gym for years and then to millions of dollars and here’s trying to recoup their investment and and I walk into these guys headquarters this is what they’re doing they have a 150 employees and when they when they launch a franchise they literally they will spell out 800 gym passes online before they even open the doors and I I know the guys it’s Michael and Nick are amazing amazing business people cool soft wood they’re actually building I’m actually going to be with them next weekend no way so so so that’s where it began but but here’s here’s where it goes at the end of the day and me hanging out with them Michael’s like hey you know what I you know I just invited you in share all my secrets with you you go back apply to your cowboy gym do whatever you want with it you know that’s awesome at least I can help out he goes if there’s if there’s anyway me we worked together fireman and I hurt this word again you know what he said let’s get to know each other and I’m like real you gotta be kidding me now here’s Michaelis 700 franchises and he goes in fact he goes I was sold on your business on what you’re doing I saw you on TV I saw your lot high energy but I don’t want to see I want to look you I die and just kind of get to know you to really find out who you really are and and from that point Dave it’s been two years with Michael and next week they’re starting to build out of the franchise location cool selys but but again Dave it goes back to that friendship but the problem is we want to rush it we just want to look at the big picture we want to look at you know what what could I get today how could I make money how can I feed my family and and we overlooked the most valuable thing in business and it is that friendship and and it’s a coolest thing ever because again now Michael and Nick and Scott all those guys at that of kickboxing now I look at him as like good friends of mine not just oh whoa we just we partnered up and I told oh my gosh Gavin you know I could tell you that I had this conversations literally in the last week probably four different times a couple times with my kids I literally had the conversation with Steven Larson last night and then another gentleman the other day that whole idea as far as you can either buy your way in or work your way in yeah they both work but the end result is you have to establish that friendship and whether you buy your way in through a mastermind or you work your way in like you did through that kind stuff I just cannot stress again I think of all the lessons you and I’ve talked about as far as from Tony Robbins from billionaires who thinks that number one thing as far as the importance of you build those friendships if he goes back to the trite see as far as you know you basically take a look at your network your net worth is your network it is reason because that it’s it’s so valuable because it’s again you get to know each other I mean you and I’ve gone back and forth since he’s been went 3 months and taken whatever because you would never spend the time to get on my podcast graced by your presence you know it’s great and here’s what’s really cool now what I what I do is I make these one-minute motivational videos and I just send them a handful into people and and I know you’re getting em sometimes I feel bad cuz I’m liking my bombard name but the feedback that I’m getting from you guys is I needed to hear that today thanks like it’s a quick get in and get out but again Dave it is it’s building that friendship first because we’re in such a rush to get the profit tool and the deal tool and the sell blood so for here’s an example for your listeners I’m sure you have people right now listening that are funnel builders right and I’m sure you have people that are that are agencies or they’re really good at Facebook Ads or driving traffic so here’s what I would do is if I was those guys I would just get to know somebody else that they really need in their business really get to know them become friends with them and then go hey you’re incredible building funnels well hey you’re incredible building traffic well why don’t we partner up why don’t we team up together and do this together so now sudden we create something that and that’s how you scale a company is you let and that’s what Tony Robbins always preaches is that you literally lets you build your business around going what is your first your passion not well yeah I’ll do that job no no no no I don’t need someone in my company that yeah I can do that job no I want somebody that’s like oh give me that job that’s what I want and during the lean times if you can’t pay me for a few weeks I’ll still do that job with passion because that’s what I love to do and you and you form that new company and so Dave I Daymond has hundreds of companies out there now and he’s taken this person in this person and he just introduces the two and then he gets a little piece of the action because he put the deal together and I’m just like oh well that’s how billionaires think oh that’s what they do so that’s what I’m gonna do and it’s it’s amazing to get to see like business does not have to be as hard as we think it is and it’s like it seems like everybody wants that build their own little castle and they and they do their own little thing and they don’t let anybody know else what they’re doing then they have their guns up on the on the method on the pop and there they’re shooting they’re shooting all their competitors when it’s like wait here’s an idea what of us who are competing against each other why don’t we thought really big and we teamed up and you specialize in the funnel you specialize in the traffic you specialize in the social media you specialize in landing us podcast interviews as much as we can you know what I mean and that’s what Dave that’s what I see looking from the outside in at clickfunnels that’s what you guys are doing that is your specialty is that I don’t see you right now building funnels somebody else does right correct yeah you know how to do it but you’re the personality guy you’re the guy that’s like man I’m gonna land interviews and this is what my specialty is because I love it and I’m passionate about it and I am the funnel Radio King right cowboy you and I can talk literally for hours as we get close to wrapping things up here how I know I’m gonna get bombard by people saying gosh how you know what hooked me up with cowboy Ryan how do I get ahold of cowboy Ryan so you don’t want to reach out to you or tell me what how can we better serve you well here’s how you better serve me and one last thing they’ll say that that how I can better serve you guys more my my natural thing my entire passion that I would do forever for free if I could is motivating motivating people so I visit businesses and I go in and I have a like a business strategy okay XYZ I go in I work with our mindset and by the time I’m done whether it’s an hour or a day like literally help these guys just elevate what they’re trying to do so one if you’re a business or a business owner and you’re just like you know what we just need we need to bring some life in or come again I would love to wherever you’re at come into your location and definitely help you out so that’s one thing for sure here’s the thing here’s what I’m looking for Dave is the cowboy brand I know it’s a seven or an eight figure business that I could build it to right now this is where it’s at I built out a membership site it’s full of content I built a ton of different funnels giving away workouts giving away diets giving away DVD stuff so I’ve gone through all the funnel process all the majority of the foundation is there but here’s what it is it’s it’s a it’s a it’s a race car that it’s like man this thing will run to second quarter but it needs fine-tuned I don’t have that and I just don’t know what to do so what I am looking to do Dave is find the right person or people out there who want to partner with me who actually want to have some equity in the cowboy brand and work with me to build this and build this Empire because I just need to specialize in what I specialize in and have somebody else who’s especially at the clickfunnels you know the funnels up generally because yeah there’s one last thing I’ve already talked to Damon this is what he needs for his companies that he invests in he does not do this they do nothing with the commies they invest in to do nothing with their websites at all they’ve not seen at all I know cuz I’ve been through this well I spoke Damon on the idea I said let me be in charge of coming in and work with your company let me be in charge of getting your companies ready before it airs on Shark Tank and nine million people go to your website and he goes cowboy done deal it goes but really simple just show me the numbers show me what you can do with your brand first and then yeah you got full rein so that’s a partnership that look where someone who wants to really scale massively and and build this brand but also have an opportunity to build a team up with named John they can go to cowboy Ryan com they can just go there Dave and there’s a button there that’s just a link that says partnership and click on it put in their info and man I’ll get ahold of them and we’ll just we’ll just chat away and then you know again all I’m doing is applying what I’ve learned from a billionaire I love it yeah well cowboy it is so much fun having you as always yeah again well hopefully have me on again it may be later this year maybe an update uh or you know sometime next year definitely for sure and I hope even if I don’t get the invite one day I’m gonna show up you guys this front door right side up on a horse right in the front door to meet Russell and the team we’ve actually tried to
