hey what’s up everybody so Brunson and welcome to marketing seekers podcast Saturday and getting ready for the big funky live event so the big question is this power arch Brewers like us who didn’t cheat and take on venture capital for spending money from our own pockets how do we market in a way the less Hosking our products and our services and the things that you believe in out to the world and yet still remain profitable that is the question in this podcast we’ll give you the answers my name is Russell Brunson and welcome to marketing secrets everyone just wanted to jump on I know that just last week and next week I’ve been working so much on presentations and slides and get ready for a funny live I’m having done many podcasts and just wanted to kind of communicate and connect everybody cuz I’m thinking about – I just so much stuff happening and you know there’s a lot that goes into events from the the venue the people the speakers the like there’s so much stuff the organization the schedule the timing ly there’s everything in so you know for the last six months Tobin’s spending time doing everything else and then now it’s like it was two weeks away last week or ten days away as of right now and so for me it was like his last weeks like it’s all about I need to get my presentations done and it’s interesting like most I know it’s weird most people who do their own events nowadays they don’t they don’t speak very much known events which is weird to me doesn’t quite make sense but that’s what people do a couple ones went this year and they were great events like nothing against that’s just the the Pro Tour didn’t speak as much I know I went to Ryan rands event which is really really neat and I asked for Mike’s do you nervous like what are you speaking about he’s like I don’t speak my own presentations I was like oh you don’t like honey he’s like yeah my my event I like to bring people in and then I you know a little bit of speaking like oh that’s interesting like and then I was a grand cardones event and he came and didn’t speak Harley doll either and I was like man like I would die for the client stage like grant cardones I’ve been on stage 20 hours a day every single day like just leveraging that cuz that’s like such an important thing you know I mean and then if you look at its different ones I don’t know but for me it’s like I feel like I know that like when in a traffic conversion when it first came out I used to go collect hearing Ryan and Perry speak vocals guys are geniuses and I love hearing from him and his traffic conversion grew they started speaking less and less and less now I think the last T and C I like 50 60 speakers and they may be spoken once each I was just like I don’t even say worth me going in works like I wanted to hear from them right I thought the people have got tons of longevity I’m like Tony Robbins I mean it says events he’s onstage for 50 hours in a weekend right and I just like I feel like I don’t know I always want to be that I want to be the one it’s inside of it so because of that like for this event I’ve got six presentations I’m creating and of course I’m not so many things make it you know I don’t just want to go off my head like I want to make these impactful and emotional and like strong so every presentation like the design I’m spending on each one is just that alone is amazing and figuring out and the last podcast talked about finding out the hook and the headline and the the framework and it’s been a week me just doing that on the six presentations I’m about halfway through or the frameworks which is sacks let’s trying to get all done this week so next week I could work on slides but as I was doing this I was trying to think and I’ve been you know talking a lot of people on my team people they meant a lot of people just trying to figure things out and and it thinks the reason why I’ve been successful so I’m saying this for people who are creating courses or content or products or events or slides or presentations or anything because I think it’s it’s a it’s it’s a hint and I hope that it helps cuz that’s the whole point where I want to jump on here is I wish you guys knew how much time I spend trying to figure out how to simplify concepts I think the the the biggest thing that keeps me back from success when they’re presenting is is technobabble you know if you read the expert seekers book I talk about technobabble right like we use these huge vocabularies my vocabulary is very simple it’s very easy and I’m always trying to simplify like if you look at these standing white boards here and here those who were watching and here and here and this is and then I’ve got papers all over the ground here this is like me taking a concept and like mapping it riding it out writing again and again and again trying to simplify so so simple like I can explain to my kids so simple I could understand it and I don’t think people spend the time like if you knew like it’s it’s Saturday night at six twenty four pm I’m sitting here trying to simplify this one section of presentation because it’s like it needs to be so simple people understand it I think that instead we we think that we’re so smart and we use our technobabble and are learning to show how intelligent we are but all it does is it alien AIT’s the audience and pushes them away from you and so I think that’s one of my superpowers but it’s not something that is magical it’s me sitting here for 10 hours trying to figure out one presentation have simplified make it simpler and simpler and simpler tell us tell it’s simple and so for all these Roderick I’ve spend more time on that try to simplify things simplify your vocabulary pull the hook pull the big words out and pull the complex things out see if you can explain what you’re doing in a doodle graph if you can’t then it’s too complex and and I was like well my mind’s yeah I can do that minded doodle graph like oh you could like when when I we said we did a thing in a network marketing program a while ago and they wanted me to do a video explaining the comp plan and and it was way over my head anyway right so I had John my team go through and he watched like I don’t know it was like 12 plus hours of video of people explaining the comp plan from the lawyers and the marketers all sorts of stuff and he went through and he tried explaining to me took like four or five hours to me explain to me and then I had it on all the thing on the whiteboard and I was like okay how to make this simple and took me out two or three days a simplifier point was just like oh that’s really really easy and so I just want to I don’t know for you guys who work and this is kind of to the audience who’s presenting and experts and things like that like they first off continue to publish your stuff like that’s that’s one big key on put out there I don’t I don’t know your your your longevity of you as a person as a personality I think has do you think how much time you put out there now at an John that like very strategic I get my events I spent a lot of time people coming there I don’t speak him any other people’s events anymore because I want I also want to be the guy who’s that every man speaking cuz it yeah you lose like your use your you know supply-and-demand type thing there but my own event I want to be the one there I want to make it so this is a venue people come to in it they’re gonna come cuz like I’m gonna hear six whole new presentations from Russell that I’ve never heard before he’s never talked about in podcast it’s just like this unique thing and I want to give that experience people and so I think if for your own things like do that kind of stuff like be willing to do it the second is simplify things as much as you can and then third is like how to teach this but how do you like try to make things sexy like I could have said like this presentation is how to get traffic to your website you know or how to increase your social media profile me or whatever but instead we made it sexy it and I read these headlines to you guys you’re in last cement you know like conversation domination how you get your dream clients addictively binge-watching you and every platform the day or live on warning suppress approach is only for those who truly believe in their message you look at that and you’re like okay that’s you know that’s a cool headline Russell but like we sat here for like three hours going back and they try to make it easier so for you like you got to put the time in to simplify your message and make it sexy figure out the hook like spend time doing that I wish I wish you guys can all get a glimpse of how much time I spend on that part of it because I don’t think people blue I don’t people understand that they just they put something together and go out there and it’s like no that that’s that’s the valuable part that’s what makes you valuable to your audience is your ability to go through and collect information ideas and things like that I did a podcast before about how you know your job is to think for a lot of other people like you’re doing that and then bringing it back somebody in a simple format they’re like oh oh cool I could actually do that right so that’s what your job is to do you’re curating all this stuff then bring it back in the most simple form possible to give it people but you got to spend the time doing it you put in the energy the effort to think through those things for them simplify them and give them in a way that they can do it and I don’t how to teach that other than I want you to be aware of how much time I spend doing it because then you might realize like oh well I don’t spend any time doing that maybe that’s my problem maybe I should spend a Saturday here in my sweats in my office just thinking through how to simplify this for people because it’s it’s meant the world to me and I think it’s helped me to build an audience and get followers people listening to because I’ve been good at that so I hope it helps I don’t know mother best in the world I still talk too fast and mumble I’ve all sorts of quirks and and things that are strained I know some people don’t like me at all which is totally cool that’s what I’ve been good at and it’s it’s helped a lot of people and so yeah okay my books talk I’m stickers expert seeker so not my original ideas it’s me reading a billion things trying on just stuff and then putting into a format that’s as simple as possible and that’s why I doodle things out like kind of doodles you can like oh there’s the doodle that’s that’s what he’s thinking and so fuse figuring out simplify simplify simplify cut out the technobabble make things sexy make things interesting spend that extra time to do that because it’s worth it okay and if I can do that for six presentations in a two week period of time and that’s doing it for all of them plus then creating slides for all of them on top of everything that’s the Memphis event I guarantee you’ve knew it with one presentation or with you know your your your perfect webinar you’re doing you know I’m guessing a lot of times if your webinars aren’t converting cuz you’re too complex simplify the story simplify the process and the filings for people so they get in make them sexy make looks good make that make it intriguing and curiosity-driven because those are the those are the keys so anyway that’s it you guys I’m gonna get back to work I gotta make this thing sexy and simplify it so hopefully some and our services and the things that we believe in out to the world and yet still remain profitable that is the question in this podcast we’ll give you the answers my name is Russell Brunson and welcome to marketing secrets hey everyone its Russell and so excited be here today so we are less than two weeks away from fun locking live going live which is crazy and a host of all sorts of craziness is happening but to start it off of course I don’t like doing anything normal I want as much pressure as possible because for some reason when a lot of things are happening I’m able to focus and get stuff done so we decided this week to to do a keto fast reboot diet and I tricked it out nine other people besides me into doing it because prudence came out with their new like keto reboot kids so I want to try it out they asked if I’d help write some stuff for them and you know help on a funnel and stuff so I was like well let me try it out so they shipped us out a bunch of reboot kits so for the last 60 hours it’s a 60 hour fast basically and all you usually have these three keto product so it’s like yeah Akito drink in the morning and then you got a keto bone broth which was shockingly good and then another key to drink in these little pills and then this like keto tea at night which was good too and like anybody do that for 60 hours and so we just broke our 60 hour fast and just had bacon eggs and avocado my three favorite foods all in one super meal which is awesome so now I’ve had in the office to work on my slides and presentations stuff like that but I wanted to share something with you guys today because maybe it’ll give you a little hope or faith or knowledge or I don’t know whatever it is you need to to get through what it is you’re doing but so I’ve got six presentations I’m giving from Rocky five and I just started on them basically on Monday so I got a two week window to get them all done and you may like oh that’s easy six presentations two weeks but each presentation for me is usually between hundred fifty and three hundred slides so these aren’t micro these are macro big big big projects I’m trying to get done but for me if I cloud urban planning as for last six months never got done so for me it’s all about like just-in-time like getting things needing done just in time so now it’s like okay it’s go time like I have to I have to get these done I’ve no other option like now is the time start creating them and and so that’s coming I share the process because maybe that helps with you guys so it’s in 48 hours and then in 48 hours all I have done is for my presentation number one I have a title the title slide a headline and a doodle graph of the what’s what’s the word I’m looking for of the process I’m gonna be teaching now the process is not the word of the the system thing there’s a word on it’ll come to me but basically like this is what I’m teaching in a doodle in a whiteboard thing and that’s why I got on 48 hours and people are like you never these slides down in time Russell if you said 48 hours on that it’s true but like the slides take a lot like grunt work but not a lot of thinking rights just kind of okay what images can I put here to like remember my brain to talk about this concept and what’s the headline what’s the they just think that point you through the presentation the bigger part is to the structure like what’s the structure of what you’re gonna be teaching people right and what’s the hook and how do you make it sexy so three is like there’s like yeah maybe that’s maybe that’s the thing it’s like the the structure of the hook and and tried it in and try to be sexy so the structure was the biggest thing so I think conceptually we don’t want to teach how on teaches so I had this huge whiteboard map it all out and then I was like it’s awesome but super complex and I took a smaller white like big pad of paper like shrunk it out again as a kid’s awesome but it’s still too complex got down down down to finals like this really simple like here’s the process here’s what here’s the the framework I think that’s right where I’m looking for a framework here’s the framework of how Matisse’s concept so for example this this presentation I’m working on for the first 40 hours is called conversation domination and it’s basically how do how do i dominate the conversation everywhere in every single platform every single channel all the same time and I bought one my friend used to own a product called conversation nomination I bought the brand and the domain stuff from that was gonna be the title of it and then I needed a structure so frameworks that took all that time like a day and a half just to get the frameworks as simple I was like oh here’s the framework which cooking out all my books for comes secrets experts secrets like it’s all about a framework right like these little doodles are my framework and I can teach off the framework it’s now got a framework and then I need like how to make this sexy so conversation domination is sexy but we need a really sexy headline and and so in fact I’m gonna go inside to find the headline right now it’s like a read together we had to get the headline that’s like that’s that’s part of the hook right there is like getting the headline that’s gonna capture people so when they see a presentation they’re like oh crap like I actually do want to I do want to hear that I want to you know I want to know what he’s gonna be be talking about so that was the next piece was pulling out the headline and I’m walking through the office right now we’re live everybody what’s up anyway so we’re pulling out the headline and that was connects step in the process so let me come in here and show you guys who are watching if you’re listening I’ll read it to you but okay here we are in the office so all right so the headline end up being and this is after probably two and a half three hours of like headlining back and forth how much people who again doesn’t it’s not just a fast process like most the time is going in these little things to set up the framework for everything else so conversation domination this is headline came up with how to get your dream clients addictively binge watching you on every platform that they live on warning this aggressive approach only is only for those who truly believe in their message so for those who are watching here’s a little picture over you can see those you’re listening that’s the headline right something a headline then it was like okay now I got I’ve got the title I’ve got the hook or the headline and then I got the framework for me to teach and then lastly and you make it sexy and this is where design comes like we needed to make this thing look amazing and so kind of story line behind this presentation and I’ll get that I’m gonna tell you too much the story line because it I can go on for hours about that but those who were it felt like hacking live the presentation here’s historian behind it but it’s basically likening social media to TVs back in 1965 and so how it works is so like if you look at the design here those who are watching you can see it’s like design like an old TV set and just look awesome so I had this and I got the title the headline done and I sent it over to Julie Stein who is not in Boise this week against her wishes she wanted to be here but we had tumor stuff by sent to her and she wrote back she said it in all cast how do you make everything so sexy and then and I said ha that’s the big secret and then she showed me a screenshot from someone in her group and said from Karen Wolfe Milner’s and how is it the Russell Brunson can make the seven phases of a funnel sound so sexy LOL i’m coming slightly obsessed with funnels yeah that was literally 12 minutes ago maker and so what i want to share these are the whole point of this podcast one share it’s like you have to make your thing sexy i could have been like here’s how to drive traffic to your offers boyer here’s how to be seen on youtube instagram and facebook look boring right like like it’s got to be something that like captures people it’s different this unique that people will remember forever right I think sometimes I see people like my funnels not working I go look at it’s just so bland and like of course not like you don’t have a good hook you don’t have a good headline you don’t have a good design there’s nothing interesting or intriguing there’s no story behind like what’s the what’s the whole thing like this presentation like literally I start with the head with the with the the title right hey guys its presidential called conversation domination i’ma show you how to get your dream clients addictively binge watching you on every social platform that they were living on and warning this aggressive approach only folks who were truly believing in their message right then I go into the story so I’ll tell you the story there’s this clip Boulevard I tell the story about TV night she’s found explaining the whole thing now there’s intrigue there’s interest and now I can move to the framework and for those who were looking at the framework those who were watching live or she’s been watching the video you can see a picture of the framework here I cut off all my mess sorry week before events things become a mess like eight thousand papers open never but here’s the framework and that framework started out as this framework on this whiteboard here and they shifted into a whole bunch of pads of paper like this try to simplify it more and more more until finding it out of this and that’s the framer paint each so cool by now like when I do my presentation like this alive to tease I could if I did no slides I could go up on a white boy I can map this out and as I explained in this piece and this piece and this piece and it’s like it got so I could really simply now if I only go complex I can go make five or six slides explaining each one and showing pictures like visual demonstrations of each thing which is probably what I like them doing but worst case I have the framework now I can go and I can present this tonight and I can do a 90 minute presentation with nothing but this framework like when I when I teach a lot of times people think like how in the world you get upstaged without any preparation and speak for like an hour or two hours or five hours I’m like why sit in the back before and I try to build out a framework what I wanted to create okay and then I’ve ever and Brenda Bouchard you just tell me said the framework is your savior like if you’ve got a framework like this you always know where you’re going you just like you put the thing in you talk talk talk talk and you soppy okay what’s the next thing okay here’s next thing here’s the next thing next thing so for me my frameworks always these doodle graphs like I could go and if someone wanted me to teach a lesson you know teach a three day event tomorrow on dot-com secrets I wouldn’t have to rehearse anything I would just go get the book pull out the framework pull out the images and talk off the image and show it and it would be neat not a hard cuz like the framework shows me where my mind needs to go when you talk about how it all fits together it makes it very very clear so for you guys I want you thinking when you’re making presentation you’re trying to sell something you’re trying to like create things like that some things to be thinking about like it’s got to be sexy right so has a sexy hook that grabs them that like looks interesting and headline that like like this sucks them in and there’s a story that gets them to care about it and then there’s a framework where you deliver deliver the big promise you gave them during the headline so anyway hope it kinda helps because I know you just even people here my team leaders like well have you spent 48 hours all you have is a headline and some doodles might because that’s the most important part everything else is just details so there you go hope you guys I have to go and lock down and now make 150 slides for the presentation and then do this process four to the five actually do this process for the five first because this is the hardest part this is the brain work then it’s just like again now that have this the brain work is gone next week I suppose grab images for all these things and they flop into slides and make it look amazing so the brain works the hard part so all right guys that’s all I got the next four hours working on the titles and hooks and everything for my next presentation and I just wanted to jump back in and just give you a little more because mic I don’t know this morning I was slow I can think so the three things that you tap hook headline and framework so the hook is like the name of the thing the headline is the this is what the story is about and a framework then is the the structure of what the presentation is right so I just wanted to come in here real quick to share with you for my funnel acting live presentation there’s six presentations we had went through do this for all six presentations so hook the headline of the framework so obviously can’t show the framework is all done yet but the hook the headline are done for all these presentations now he’s got creative framework and I gotta go bust out slides so um here we go presentation number one is called funnel hacker funnel hackers we see things differently that’s the hook and the headline is actually the quote of the theme of this year’s event which is it’s on the back of the shirt you guys can’t see it unless you were at fucking live says here so the crazy ones The Misfits the rebels the troublemakers the round pegs in the square holes the ones who see things differently they’re not fond of the rules and they have no respect for the status quo you can quote them disagree with them glorify or vilify them by the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things they push the human race forward and while some see them as the crazy ones we see genius because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do so that’s the that’s the headline hook for a presentation number one number two conversation domination I told you guys this already how do your dream clients addictively binge watching you on every platform that they they live on warning this aggressive approach is only for those who truly believe in their message hook headline boom presentation number three funnel audibles there’s the hook headline how to nail it so you can scale it okay number four multi-dimensional follow-up funnels this hook headline how to win the battle of attention you can change lives of your customers with the products and services that you sell number five the 12-month millionaire that’s the hook the hook and then the headline 286 of your peers have joined the two comma Club in the last 12 months here’s the behind-the-scenes process they are all currently using to unlock the door so the two common Club with absolute certainty can use the same system to launch your seven-figure funnel in the next 12 months boom and number six the hook breaking the chains of false belief in the headline what’s holding you back is probably holding your customers back as well so especially that because after the podcasts when we worked on it and now they’re done and just wanted to share that so as you’re thinking through interviews I have the opportunity and I want to in reduce you guys to Ravel aqus how are you outstanding brother outstanding thank you thank you for having me Dave thank you for having me Raoul this is so much fun for me I’d spend one of those things again you’re one of our two common Club winners most likely going to have you their funnel hacking lab is one of a round table like hosts and the cool thing about you is you’ve been able to take all this crap I mean you’ve been this massive connect or networker for years building real estate empires and now helping entrepreneurs build their business and the coolest thing is is I take a look at I know we’re just talking offline as far as this whole idea of being a network of being out there all the time attending a massive amount of vents never seen your family and one of the coolest things that you’ve been able to do is by using clickfunnels you actually are staying home more being home with your family but connecting more of people through video so with that I want to kind of just cut and dive right into this whole thing and let’s kind of talk about the importance of network everyone knows how important it is but how the world give you networking through video so uh you know going back to my real estate company I will build a multi seven-figure business through network I mean we talk talking about bank associations hedge fund companies you know real estate investors because our network is what allowed me to really scale and to grow my company so when I started personal development and I started creating events and and coaching I used my networking skills to fill out my first event and I did an event in Vegas two weeks before Christmas so I picked up my phone and I started calling people I know my network and they all support me I mean who does that right two weeks two weeks before Christmas 2013 and people went to the Wynn Hotel to have this crazy experience I call it next-level experience so that was the first thing that I really got to me when I when I it was a it was a I was able to transform my real estate Network to my personal development coaching network so I was that was great that’s fantastic so I know that you basically filled the first one the second one even your thirty that all through networking all through network in the first event the second event the third event I mean I was I was a master networker until I started to get burnout well it’s kind of talking about that being burned out aspect uh all this is entrepreneurs we always face this where we’re going oh my gosh you know I I got a grind I gotta grind I got to make this happen in hustle hustle hustle and in the burnout hits and it’s like oh my gosh what am I gonna do next how am I gonna still do what I do but without grinding as hard as I have to grind so what you end up doing so so here’s the thing I’ve been grinding for the past 18 years so I’m not afraid of the grind I’m not afraid of going out of there I used to actually one event I remember I went to an event in California but I had to come back to New York to have a meeting with the mayor of New York so I came back and I was speaking at the same event the second day so I was flying from California came back to New York finished my hacker the mayor and then I went to a plane again and went back to California so the guys were like you crazy how but I was doing whatever it took in order for me to get my name out there in order for me to be known and for me to just spread the message so I wasn’t I wasn’t afraid of getting burned out but here is the thing when I started seeing they impact now me not being a home was crossing to my kids my wife and my family that’s when I realized I had to switch like I mean as far as much fun as I have been in planes I just look at Gary Vee style and like I honor Gary Vee for being in the plane every five hours and I’m like I need to be with my kids so what are you doing how have you scale it so my first introduction was I think 2014 somebody sent me a message to try this click funnel thing so I went in there and I and I I’m not a techie at all so I but I built this landing page it was probably the ugliest landing page had a message but what I did had is I had a great video guy who came to my studio and we created this content video that will specifically tell my message and I and I tried three different type of videos but one video in particular work the one that I talked about the two drivers of the matter entrepreneur which is money and sex and have video went viral that video hit it was in Facebook I don’t know how Facebook didn’t shut me down without video but I was able to build my first year my coaching experience pretty much of the video money and sex and I had thousands of people reach out to apply for my program I did an event every single month and I thought clickfunnels was the best thing that it wasn’t revenge because I was able to put on video in an ugly landing page because I made it I created and it was like it was like the tackiest thing it was like the back was the Empire State Building and then put your email here and that’s it not even no disclosures no like not powered by Facebook all kinds of wrong things to do like well the key is you take some action which is always cool but so tell me what was the funnel so they basically came in they opted in was an email sequence today at phone call what in a sequence then it was just the video put a name on email they had a second video an application that said it was it was a simple funnel and then I had thousands of applications I wanted to work with me just by doing so I guess one of the things I would like to say is is keep it simple I mean now we have a more complicated you know strategy by the beginning you gotta keep it simple you gotta do it I love it again I think it’s always cracks me up when we see these funnels that happen to be you know 20 pages long and I’m like you guys way way too much work and so I love the ideas far as keeping it simple so help help me understand I mean obviously money and sex are like two of the best words in the world to use to try to grow any business but tell me what would you do as far as the applications do they then go to phone calls what you do yeah how much I was at the beginning I was doing everything myself because again I’m running a real estate company so my real estate partners already started getting getting mad at me because I was using all the resources meaning all the money that was making a real estate and all the employees in real estate to do my my passion business right so I had to I had to cut it off I had to I had to realize that okay I had to create a separate business so now a minute so I was the funnel guy I was the video guy I was the sales guy I was doing everything until I was able to delegate those sass so yes it was a phone conversation it was an interview process as we we started creating teams that will have a media team I’m a sales team eventually we could we have to scale it so you went from basically applications then from the application where they going to the live event or what were you selling so from the video they went to an email email funnel and then from the email funnel they had a video the second video will tell them pretty much here is what you need to do apply once they apply I got on the phone with them and we had a conversation to come to a live mastermind fantastic so at the live mastermind then do you upsell them to a higher end coaching program so at the beginning after the live mastermind it was more of a coaching what I want a coaching experience no problem as we grew like every just my time became more more valuable and now we had a group coaching experience now we have multiple experiences that I could go through and now as a network of guys who just you know they the Association is what keeps them in power to proximity one of the tag lines is that proximity is power so when I guys are and the program they’re building businesses within within the program and they have different businesses and just is just grow into a beautiful network so within within your funnel then basically at that point after they they start working so describe to me because there’s a ton of people out there after coaching programs especially high in coaching forums for personal development things I think that part you just made mention is pretty critical as far as that community what are you doing to build that kind of a community then well the first thing is I was very very clear on the type of guy at the type of men that I wanted in my program on and that I think is one of the main things that people appreciate about my program is I just didn’t bring anybody unless I knew they wouldn’t lie match with the values so just keeping the community I would say pure and not just because they could pay I mean I get it I mean at the beginning when you need money to grow your business you’ll take anybody’s money I mean real estate company I remember like anybody who wanted to buy real estate or sell really study I just come on board in the coaching business you have to be very careful because you’re not just taking money you’re taking on their energy and the moment that you take it on the energy you have to be sure man that you could deliver so the from the beginning we just I just realized that because I had a different mindset I was in long term I was just looking at my ideal client I only wanted to work on my vehicle and so I said no more times I say yes I know it’s hard to begin it ideal client is somebody that’s that’s already establishing business somebody who’s already has what we call that the edge and we have the program called the edge so I’m looking for somebody who’s had the edge who’s lived on the edge who has some bruises and some scars right like you probably failed a couple of times because now is easier for me to help him see okay how did you fail let me help you put that mindset together and now let me help you scale because if I have to bring you from zero to 100 I’m gonna have to done that my first coaching clients as a matter of fact when they came they never they didn’t have that edge and it was a lot it was a hard hard road now it’s like just a one millimeter shift and you just before the school I was with five guys who building seven-figure businesses and we in one hour within more than they they’ll do with their board meetings in one hour because it’s just a fast pace just clear about like getting done and I love that I love that I love being intense I love the intensity so I want to make sure that a guy will bring in has that same energy that they have they could appreciate intensity oh well you know I think that’s so important I talk to a lot of people who are building their businesses and you’re right when you first start inside you know what I will take any dollar just because I got to put food on my table or I got family to feed all that kind of stuff but that gets old real fast and as soon as you can get to the point where you like you know what I need to identify exactly who my customer is jld was here in our office a few weeks ago that months ago John Lee Dumas and it was fascinating for me to basically have that he was on stage and just talking about his ideal customer he basically knew their name he went through I mean he was this old and and did this for the living and was in a car this long and this part of the country just needed totally met me so where after he described him I’m like oh my gosh I know exactly who your client is yeah I think it’s really cool and as you’re mentioning that relevant you’ve had that opportunity of being able to scale and I think the other thing is it’s I know even for us it’s a lot easier we don’t typically just go to the people who have never ever done anything online what works obviously first sure we have a lot of people come in but usually those people come to us they’ve already tried things themselves doing it themselves and they’ve struggled and they’ve been frustrated and now all of a sudden they hit click phones like oh my gosh this is so much easier than trying to bundle all these other things together and I think it’s an important thing when you’re looking at your business of where in that life cycle of the of your client you want to be do you want to be when they’re just beginning it’s a totally again it’s a totally different energy that sucks from you when you deal with beginners are you looking for those people in the middle are you looking for those people maybe on the top end I know for us we’ve looked at you know r2 comma Club of which you remember those people basically got to a million and thinking you know we basically we look at people from zero to a million from a million to two ten and from ten million to a billion hopefully real soon and it’s just fascinating I think it’s really cool that you’ve had the opportunity to enroll of really narrowing in on exactly who that is and I think that that a lot of entrepreneurs we don’t take our time to niche our market I mean in real estate my niche market was exactly that I was I was focusing on the stress sales I was focusing on on the market when the market crashed so I always knew that the more niche I became the better chances I had in order for me to separate myself from the crowd so when I started coaching I started putting these experiences together I really wanted to I didn’t want this to become a job you know I already had a job already had a career I mean in real estate that’s that was think I could do it on my sleep that was you know I’ll make money in real estate in any market but when it comes to coaching and consulting I really wanted to feel like like minute I will do this for free and that’s my that’s what I tell my clients like I will do this for free but the fact is that you pay me a lot of money to do it it makes me want to do it better show up more because I’m gonna pay for it but I wanted to really work with those guys that I feel like you know we call each other brothers we call this a Brotherhood like this guys have my cell phone number I have this cell phone number they call me and it’s not a bother for me because I believe in what they do they believe in what I do and we go deeper than just like a superficial coaching experience which I’ll take these guys like six feet under man when they come to my event we’re going to hell we have a little walk around hell and we come back well okay where do you want to live you want to when I go back to hell you want to get together are you want to live in the edge because you know you wanna you want to live on the edge you don’t want to live outside the edge too much that you get hurt I didn’t want to live you know behind the edge too much to be so you’re comfortable you know if you want to really have an exciting life you have to live on that edge so when you’re talking to entrepreneurs and and others about that how do you get them to that edge without going too far over well it’s that’s the art that’s the art because we got to make sure that that we are working with guys that could take it and there’s a you know this listen everybody wants to know when an intrapreneur culture right now is a new rock star right oh I got I got kicked out of one seminar one summer one one event when I was a speaker there and it was a lot of Millennials and I love Millennials Millennials like they’re my people like I have a bunch of millions working for me I love Millennials I have nothing against Millennials but in this particular event 99% of the attendees were Millennials the guys who’ve been on the business probably for water or two years so I got in this stage and I said okay how many I’m never talking about Facebook strategy is Instagram strategies or all the strategies right so I get in this stage and I said I raise your hand how many of you guys are in the business for the last 12 months 99% of the people raise their hands all right keep your hands raised if you don’t them been in this game for the last five years like 90% of room drop their hands I said keep your hands up if you’ve been in the game for at least 10 years only like two guys I saw the two guys standing in the back how many you got how many times did you go bankrupt I’m two of them have their hands standing I mean their hands up and I said you see this while all you guys are trying to figure it out this game is gonna work if there’s weapons in a world you have this two guys in the back and they will come in and they will use one weapon that they have which is determination that they’re Turman to win this game for the long long fall so they didn’t like the fact that I was just preaching there’s gonna be a long game they wanted the fast and the quick game and I think that’s what’s missing it’s just like you have to be in it for a long long game I you know I appreciate that I think it’s one of those conversations I have with my boys all the time and business is a marathon it’s never a sprint you know we’ve we’ve joked around a lot about not taking on any VC capital yeah again to me it’s kind of like cheating it’s taking steroids or anything else so your business had the best way of making a successful business is when it’s profitable and so don’t take money just make your business more profitable and and you’ll find tons of money comes to here and so I think it’s interesting I know you’re you’re dealing with people who are again you’re talking seven figure earners in that area well from a price standpoint how do you pressure your products and services then value value and here’s here’s a reality your price is going to be determined based on the value you could bring to that person and if you are not selling from where you are meaning if you over price your services just because everybody else is charging you no more money and you really don’t feel that’s your value you’re gonna end up failing I always tell people self from where you are right now and I always I always have the threshold like where I’m comfortable like I’m charging I’m trying to six figures from a coaching like there’s a there’s a group of guys who my coaching is for and then this year I’m gonna double that that fee and people look at me like Raul like you know are you sure people gonna pay for that I said it’s not about paying for that is how much value kind of brings so they could see that without me or without my coaching we thought my program they’re not gonna get there fast enough because when I sell is two things time and experience and people are looking ok I want to learn from that experience so I could compound time we talked about compounding time a lot of here and that’s what people will buy compounding time all right well I love that what great advice any other advice as we get close to wrapping things up here you know one of the things that I that I teach my son he’s 12 years old and he loved funnel hacking I mean he loved a funnel hiking live we’re actually gonna be there this in this event in Orlando and one things that I tell my son is like don’t worry about what other people are doing don’t don’t fall into that trap of like this guy is doing more or this girl’s doing less or or my there’s no competition semi-solid there is nobody like you like there might be some other kids or some other people there that sounds similar but I understand your edge you x-factor is you the moment that you go on you gone maybe you content will would be similar but there is no competition there’s nobody out there like you you’re you’re unique I’m by owning that I might just say hey man like I don’t care what this guy’s doing what this other guy is doing like I’m just gonna do me I wanna make mistakes I’m gonna continue to find out who I am because I’m I’m constant that journey I know and tell my clients like they’ve Raul de you see right now it’s not gonna be the Raul they’re gonna see a hundred days from now or twelve months from now so I’m not even in love with my current state of being I’m constantly progressing and going to the next level so if you fall in love with where you are right now you feel like okay this is gonna get or you like man thinking that is that or you’re not enough listen hundred years from now you’re gonna be completely different but it’s your choice whether you’re gonna create progress or you going to stay in the same place I love it I love your son I get a so cool seeing him last year and I I know you guys have articles written up that you guys as well and it’s super super cool I’m not excited can’t wait to see him again this year again well I think it’s just so awesome as far as the example you’re setting for your kids most importantly they’ll also for the other entrepreneurs and the business owners that you’re working with that’s what this game is all about and I love that love we were able to help from a tech standpoint get your message out to the more people because for me that’s that’s what matters most is the lives that you personally are touching that’s where the satisfaction comes for us here so thank you nobody nobody has ever come to my event and left the event saying like oh I’m gonna go build more businesses even though that’s where they come to the event for at the anybody’s every single man leave saying I want to build a legacy how do I know the legacy and if you’re not looking at your kids I mean I don’t know when you’re gonna air this Dave but just yesterday we had a mass shooting in Florida if you’re not kissing your kids every single night if you’re not appreciating your family every single night and you’re not thinking God every single night for the family that you have or or the people that you around with you’re missing the whole game will be in a businessman missin the whole game or being an entrepreneur we’re here to create we’re here to bring hope we’re here to elevate other people not just making money we’ll make money because that’s who we are but just live a legacy man that’s that’s the whole game man I’m so my stance will be so funny last night and I still Dave to go to an old website who had expired guess what today is Todd and Ryan our town plus taka came and Nick anyway it’s gonna be a huge party today and I’m excited all right so everyone that’s like a cliff bones how do you guys get so much done so often and like the answer if we told you the truth we have another fair advantage we do have are you sure yeah what would be nut for Angie one fair advantage what is a bottled unfair advantage Wow so I’m about to map out a funnel before I do it I if I want to win we need an unfair advantage nasty ever oh man anyone who can survive the taste will get a guaranteed unfair advantage Karen if you had oh you need an unfair advantage if you’re writing all this copy they taste amazing you’re gonna love her dude we’re gonna have [Laughter] [Music] okay one of the coolest things clickfunnels can actually be used for is actually creating order forms that you can print about to close a billion people at once if you need an order form a finger place an order form it looks amazing the simple decide and to look at and easy and so I built it click funnels and screenshotted and copied onto a PowerPoint document then we’re going to do a word document to make it to a triplicate or reform picture well did you like your clip okay oh yes – really circle it and circle yes or no cell number so we can text them at the count setup email just your username at their card number speeches Oh month gear crazy sign it and there’s a service so one of the value bombs Russell is just dropping here was the importance of actually consuming your own content so why we actually end up doing funnel fridays is because it shows our users that we actually use our own content and how they can do it why not go ahead and send something to our click Files office that way we could actually build it all out for you and maybe who knows you may actually show up on a final Friday’s episode no that would be a really cool thing what’s up everybody todd here and i just left the house it’s about 5:00 a.m. and there is a torrential rain downpour happening at the moment but i am all the way to the airport to headed to Boise and I’m actually picking up taka on the way who’s one of our top designers on the deep just picked up taka back out what’s up man it’s good at the airport we Ryan James talk it’s gonna be a party look it’s in the office today all my friends are here okay there’s so much cool stuff going on in this side this door way cool crazy stuff happening here what the heck is going on here what is all this holy I don’t know what’s going on what this is so killer cool what these are actual laughs as opposed to yeah well so this is kind of like the current to top this kind of current this is what we have like the funnel surge this is on that bun right now but I thought we could make updates homeless how they interact how they looked and then creative consistency throughout the whole website have you just been cutting and pasting all weekend long let’s like go Matt to kindergarten check out this whole line oh my gosh yeah that’s clickfunnels way down there brand in our industry the staffer Netcom the only one of the old members bought the domain who had expired Trump bought George Bush’s lion-o ex-member bought stompernet and then wrote a whole sales that are talking trash on stompernet for brand new and if you scroll down watch skal these characters they like a little things start popping up he’s using it for like anyway note to self screws a lot of people don’t let it expire just one of those people may buy it and turn everybody who’s ever coming to that site stompernet mouth that was one it came from this stumper bath come on you want to couple days I’ve done a podcast because I’m kind of recovering and recouping from the craziness that has ensued last week and today I was driving in the office and it’s political season here and I know I’m probably does everywhere I’m not a big politic guy I don’t really care about voting too much and maybe I’ll leave that you know I just don’t care I care about entrepreneurship and some play that but I know there’s been politically cuz I keep seeing all these signs and I admit one of the dudes who’s running for I don’t know is Congress Senate something here in Idaho and andro bias sauce slides big ol side it’s got his name on it really big and then like the logo of the party and that’s not another guy is that’s name really big and logo with a party and like it drives me nuts I just like cringe Rhino how much money is being wasted and they keep asking me to donate to like so-and-so’s campaign and this and that and I’m just like like how like the politicians are the worst marketers in the history of all time so outside of a few people I’m sure he has watched the last elections and the person who won was actually a great marketer notice I’m sure he had his name really big all over the signs but was better was he had a benefit what is the benefit for our people so instead of saying Russell Brunson on a big sign on side of road I like what do people here actually care about and something like hey you want to make Idaho great again or unless my pay less tax there’s some benefit to the actual human being not just my name nobody cares about my name so all you politicians have a big ol sign with your name on it and a logo you are literally just flushing money down the toilet sure there’s like the hyperactive x’ who know who you are whoever time to see your sign like yeah they were gonna vote for you anyway all the rest of us people who don’t care about politics aren’t going out to vote we look at that we see a name and we keep driving it doesn’t zero for memory I don’t know the benefits are to me on a wide little fewer over everyone else like it does nothing whatsoever yeah we keep doing it we keep I don’t know how many times my sign companies make this it’s ridiculous and then I got invited safe – like I get together party thing at somebody’s house where they were doing a fundraiser or anyway a big get-together everything goes on this house and I don’t even know if the politicians gonna be there but it’s a big party to talk about it and like and share it and they invited to be to it I just kind of smile like first off I like why am I going to saying is the person to me the no one told me what’s the benefit my thoughts are people are gonna go once again to something this are people who are predisposed to vote that person anyway and then get together and be all excited about that person and it’s gonna be awesome right but doesn’t get a single extra vote created so if I was ready for politics people have asked me I did a rant on this about a month ago about if I was ever run for Paul for politics the first off I will never run mark my word second off someday though I do want to be a puppet master for some politicians so if and when I ever end this part of my career I totally gonna find a politician just be a puppet master just in the marketing just to prove that this stuff works so if I was politician first off my big old science side of the road would have the benefit for the person huge huge headline and then my name would be underneath it in much smaller font but the benefit of why they would want to vote for maybe number one number two I want to be trying to throw rallies for people already in vote for me don’t know why it doesn’t in create doesn’t create new votes so I would be doing instead I’d be going to my local area my geographic area that can vote for me I’d be going to Facebook I’ve been doing Facebook lives every single day for the entire like year and a half leading up to my campaign what would I talk about on those things I don’t know I found out what people actually care about not people in necessarily to vote that Ardi are voting for me by be finding topics I’m gonna do one Facebook live per day per topic and I would target my world I would want to so every single person who could possibly vote for me when they open a Facebook or Instagram all they see every single day is my face talking about the new topic okay I haven’t seen a single Facebook live from a single politician ever which just blows my mind guess how we’re all making all this money online guys Facebook lies okay I don’t see a single swipe up bad for any of my politicians guests are making money online guys swipe up ads like why in the world aren’t these people using things they’re doing all these old-school methods they’re doing horrible branding horrible messaging not doing any kind of future based cause they’re not they’re doing rallies to get their existing warm audience excited about them although it creates no new votes I’d be hoaxes playing how do I create new votes what’s my future based cause what’s all this all the crap we talk about extra secrets I’m gonna really get a new cover for this and call it a political secrets and then we’ll just wrap it and then we’ll sell to the politicians teach them how to actually sell themselves and Mark it I would totally be doing a perfect webinar I would literally do all these Facebook guys pushing people to hey I’m gonna be doing this I’m gonna call a webinar that I’d call this something a town hall meeting where I’m gonna reveal to you the three biggest things we’re gonna do to destroy not destroy to fix our economy locally and to bubble and whatever it is and I would like figure out their false beliefs my core audience I would do a perfect likely to spend time with you and give you more money and vote for you and tell other people to vote for you because they’ve given you money and wouldn’t go ask people for campaign donations like hey can you donate so-and-so’s campaign because this is a platform he’s on because nobody cares about the platform that they’re on what do people want they want something they want an ROI they want to get something in return so I would figure out cool stuff like what I make I’d make like a a box of stuff like this and I put cool things in there that people actually want locally and have like coupons from the local area where may support me as a cause and like you get like $5,000 of coupons if you donate fifty bucks or something or I find I don’t know I was just do good marketing we just need to get one politician understand good Dr direct-response marketing and we could change the world change in on that oh my gosh you guys here right here I’m marking Secrets K the puppet master sir and the having Ross Chris fully Ross welcome to the show hey thanks man I feel like my privilege to be on your show you’ve been crushing it again people may not understand your story or know your story getting weird to kind of talking offline the idea is the fact you get no selling you all your other businesses due to an injury where you started basically from scratch in January 1st of 2017 and in the last basically that year ended up adding 50 clients to your agency in addition to teaching 400 people how to add clients to their agency I mean that’s just crazy crazy stuff I can’t wait to kind of dive into this as far as I didn’t build you an agent because your agency is different than most people’s agencies I mean your agency or you’re in the heavy machinery that matches your gifts all right yeah and that’s weird cuz I just fell into that niche and so I guess something that I could kind of explain here but it’s been a crazy year like so many and I haven’t had the downsides of digital marketing where a lot of people fall into it but I think that a lot of it came from owning businesses in the past it really helps me to be able to kind of come in with structure and a business plan model as far as what I was going to do to make it happen and so I knew that my agency wasn’t gonna just build itself but I can kind of backtrack if you want kind of tell you how I fell into it and then some of the things that I’ve done to grow it if that’s good yes so I when I was 17 I opened a guitar shop I I wanted so bad to be an entrepreneur I worked for a small business downtown who absolutely loved guitar and I realized though about two years in how bad I hated teaching the same edge here and song over and over again like it was just hard and so I ended up getting into this weird niche of fixing crack phones and flipping them on eBay and stuff like that so I did that for you know about a year and in that time got married opened up a cell phone repair store and the cell phone repair shop went really good I was actually crushing it and about two years in I got a little cocky and I opened up a second store and it just tanked absolutely sent me it was kind of like Russell was just talking about the pride cycle yeah I was I was at the top of the pride cycle and it sunk me in there’s so much debt a few three months I had to close that store I had to fire everyone at my profitable store and get it back up and running just by myself I mean there were times because we were in Fond du Lac Wisconsin my wife and I were literally boiling water for hot water for our baths because we couldn’t afford the propane heater to come fill it up for five hundred bucks or whatever and so I I dug myself out of that hole like that just entrepreneurship you know I dug myself out of this hole and I relocated in my profitable store to a better location that was less expensive and I was like I’m tired and so right around that same I am I started having these issuer’s where I was like falling and I couldn’t walk well and my you know like I was having all these mobility issues so I started going into the doctors and they diagnosed me with Siringo Miglia which is a spinal cord disease it’s a cavity fluid-filled cysts that runs mines really long the length of my thoracic spine and so they said basically that hey this isn’t something we can fix it comes from my brain being herniated they won’t operate on it for other reasons and so that I was like I can’t stand you know in these jobs all day and I was starting to learn this idea that you know when you exchange your time for money that you always lose and even when you’re an entrepreneur and this is why I think like you see so many people being profitable in this digital marketing business the funnel business that they are not going into the mindset of a like the you know you have three years and then if you make it past that home you’re good you know they’re going into it like from day one we need to be profitable and so I was like okay what can I do and I came across your guys ads I ended up taking a course on funnels and Facebook ads and it kind of really clicked well with me because I had done my own marketing but for my businesses in the past but I had only done organic marketing so when I learned this stuff it like lit a fire under my butt so cool and I sold my businesses to an employee for like nothing I just wanted out I just wanted out and so like after everything was said and done I didn’t have much money I had like 3 grand in my name I spent like a thousand of it or I should say 997 on a course and you know I I got in and what was funny is I started landing clients right away using my own techniques I’m a big fan of cold calling which I know a lot of people hate I did a lot of free trials which a lot of people hate I did pretty much the opposite of what everybody else wants to do and I just started seeing clients right away and I remember it was the first time last year in February that I understood passive income because I had done all this work to do sales in January and now here comes February I doubled what I did in January and then when the money stacked on top from January I was like who did it know I didn’t know and teach me this before like in the world have I taken my wife regularly says to be like why couldn’t you have done this like instead of ever opening a guitar shop myself watch have you two been so much further ahead it’s dark on secrets and exist back then no but in reality that’s kind of how it’s felt for us over this year and I am I’m trying to not hit the top of a pride cycle in this business now I’m trying not to get there and stay humble but like I have not seen the downside yet to this business other than taxes suck but that other than that you know it’s been a pretty amazing ride so what I’d like to do is explain some of the things that I’ve done to help some of your audience members who are learning an agency understand like ok that’s great that’s inspiring but where’s the actionable stuff of how to actually get the action let’s dive right in so I started out for me by on a napkin I drew out my value ladder and I drew out what was what I called my 10k model and it was pretty much I call it push starting your agency because in the beginning you’re really doing a lot of harder work you know you’re manually cold calling and you know reaching out to people but after about 69 months what you notice is that engines turned over and you find this gas pedal to your business and you like I don’t have to cold-call because now your networks so big you got so many referrals coming in that all you have to do is keep up with that and your agency just keeps going it’s as you guys know it’s harder to go from you know zero clients to 10 or 20 or in an agency for your business it’s different but it’s harder to do that than it is to go from 20 to 50 because all you have to do is get 1 to 2 referral from every client and all of a sudden your business is doubled in size and so what I did was I thought okay I like the software model of offering a trial because you get people hooked on something and and you get them like engraved and like all my files and all my stuff is in my account and then to pull that away like you can really like you want it now it’s like someone trying to take your cell phone away after having it for seven days like all built into it so I what I did was I did 7 days short trials 7 days or less and I offered these to people and I did it in a unique way where instead of just calling them up and pitching them on a trial because I was in programs I called them saying listen I’m a student I’m learning all this marketing and I really would like to just get a testimonial that’s all I really want would you guys be willing to let me do some marketing for 7 days for free if I can just get a testimonial from you and I was going after doctors initially because everyone’s going in after chiropractors and I thought that’s what we do and so I was going after these doctors and they were like yeah yeah that’s great we’ll do it and so once I got in there and I just really rocked results from there like how much is it going to be to keep doing this and when I started hearing that I knew right away like this is a this is a model so that’s what I did is I would only give them 7 days like just enough to give them a taste and want more and then I cut it off but there’s so many people who are against trials because they do them and they don’t land the client but the main reasons why they’re not landing them after trials is a they didn’t find people who can afford advertising so they went after people who had no advertising budget like I don’t give people trials unless they are already paying for marketing like there’s a book called the Challenger sale it’s an amazing book and they talked about the five different tiers of sales people since 2008 and which ones have been the most profitable and people who will challenge your status quo of your business are proven by numbers to have much higher sales and be the wolf of sales in their industry and so to me a trial is like challenging your current way of doing things you know it’s like saying hey you’re paying for this let me give you this for seven days and I’m going to show you that this is better you know so it was my way of doing that well after a while doing that you get referrals and it becomes what I call a gold-digging which works perfect for your prospecting there because you dig for free but then once you got that client usually you don’t offer trials to their referrals you just keep using the case study from your referral to sell the next guy oh that’s smart love it and so I only have two people like get confused like why is Ross he’s the trial guy no I get trials just to find my gold that’s super cool and then I chased that gold with these referrals and so you think about it when you’re digging for gold the first few scoops are free so get old for it it’s part of our business you know and I always find it hypocritical when agency owner will go into a business and they try to get them to offer like a really good deal or a free initial visit or a really low-cost initial visit and to get traffic and then when they say well what’s your you know can you give me a deal no I don’t do that I don’t believe in the value like I don’t like it’s just so hypocritical to me that try to get someone else to offer an initial traffic driving but then to say no I’m not going to so yes so that’s what I’ve done to scale the agency and it’s worked really really well and then I went into you know then you get your strategy call after you you have to do a strategy you guys he’s so many people trying to go straight from the trial to setting it up on Facebook setting up their ads but I liken it to this if you do a like in a webinar when you’re doing a webinar that webinar is your strategy call if you pull out the webinar and go straight to the sales page or you go straight to something else is it’s going to convert much it’s not going to pre-frame them to buy right and so so really that strategy call is a way that even though you came in saying you just wanted a testimonial you can really set them up for at the end of this end of this trial I’m going to pitch you so you say hey you know so I’m gonna be ending my schooling my training here after this testimonial so if this goes really well is this something you’d be interested in continuing and so now they’ve already got in your mind like you’re going to pick it makes it way less awkward when you do pitch them when they know that you were going to pitch them and so once we yeah thank you once we do that then we get our strategy call we go into a trial and then this is one of the most crucial things you get your testimonial before you pitch them I cannot send so many people they pitch them and then they must for the testimonial and they’re so lame because then if they said no their testimonials suck do you know they’re they’re like well you know oh yeah it was pretty good to wear in your testimony you can actually sell them on the service by being like hey can you see how this can help other businesses and ask they’re answering these questions they’re really talking themselves into the service and then when you pitch them on the service they’re like yeah ok this makes sense you know yeah I’ll do it so that’s what we’ve done and right now what I found is if I do 25 phone calls I get about 3 to 4 strategy calls and about 1 to 2 trials started and I’ll typically land a client out of that so one more time just as people hear that again yeah at about 25 cold calls I’ll get three to four strategy calls one to two trials and I’ll land one or two clients based off that that’s fantastic and it’s not just me every single day I have the students emailing me pictures and screenshots of PayPal and stripe done this the downside is is that I don’t sell my course on pain points so like a lot of people know cold calling and all this stuff is a pain point no one wants to do it and so they sell against that but then when people struggle I’m like the last resort and they’re all broke by the time they get to me everyone’s broke so I don’t sell a lot of courses I guess but but the people who end up taking the bite they end up they end up seeing the results like I said I’ve only had about I ain’t old I’ve helped over 400 people I’ve only sold just over 200 of my actual course and I have a program called scripts that work it’s my forty seven dollar front end offer whatever and I’ve had about 200 people purchased that which is cool but it’s fun because I get all these text messages of people seeing the same results that I’m having and I let you set a comment one year live videos and it run home but you said what got you where you are won’t get you where you want to go do you remember that no yes no I guess leader in that philosophy yeah and and it’s funny cuz you said that at a time where I think I had around 2530 clients and I was starting to get to a point where I would do it because I thought I can’t keep going with the same strategy now that I’m here because I’ll grow too slow and so I needed to start selling to the masses because my agency is my baby like I love my program I love the course I love the students but some people they do an agency just to sell a course and have the credibility I love my agency because I love my agency and so we’re cool I I think that’s that says a lot about you it says a lot about again when you’re out there talking to people when people understand that I’m not in the business of just selling other people to to do this I actually do it myself I mean we’re in the same we’re in the exact same business we build funnels with our own funnels and Russell’s literally building a monster file that we’re calling the mother funnels right now and that’s again what we do I would love to be a fly on your wall by the way around the office it would be like but yeah so I guess it’s it’s just been fun it’s this you know it’s kind of like the practitioner thing and what I think and happening is you end up influencing people in a way I do the document rather than create theory for my content and I think you end up influencing people in an interesting way because what I’ve found is there’s some influencers where you’ve really connected with them at one point in your career but you outgrow them because if they’re not a practitioner what can happen is they don’t have new content new problems that they’re helping solve and you end up just outgrowing their style and you feel like you’ve gotten everything that you can from them but when you’re a practitioner and you’re constantly trying to improve things and you’re documenting it like I went live yesterday on the spot and I showed people how I’m doing these cool I pre did like a strategy called visit like a little 10-minute one and I where I have a sweater in the corner that is kind of like this one and what I do is I use that same video but then I’ll go to a client I’ll form like a two-minute intro in that sweater and I’m like okay thanks so much I was gonna send you more information that you asked for let me show you what it is that I help clients do and then I but that video up to my other video where I’m wearing the same sweater and it looks like I’ve like made this 15 20 minute video for that client but I literally only made like a two-minute detailed portion for them so when you’re trying these new techniques you can share value to people constantly because you’re constantly trying to be better I love it again we’ve had this conversation with Russell so many times the only way you can continue stayin up in the front of the pack is you got to be relevant and the only way you can be relevant is you have to be a doer you got to be out there just doing the business if you’re not doing it oh my gosh it’s just people catch on real fast you can only take it so far so yeah do you think that um how do you think this a question that I love that people how you can really tell if someone’s doing it or not what’s the best way in your opinion because you guys see probably more crap than anyone that has ever seen crap you know like you probably see the decline payment from someone on stripe and then all of a sudden they’re the ones shouting off that they just you know so how what would you say from an actual standpoint is a way that so can really know someone’s doing it yeah I for me the results they always just speak for themselves I mean we’ve got over 250 people now have qualified for a to comma Club award we’ve got I think 14 I think we got our 15th person now qualifies for our our soon-to-be eight figure award and it’s just people out there actually just it’s like you Ross I mean you’re out there doing it and people know and it’s again it’s you can cut through the crap real fast you have to ask a couple of questions and you find out real quick if they know what they’re talking about yeah there’s a lot of people that I found are quiet in the communities even in your clip phones community but they’re so smart like a lot of diamonds in the rough and I’ll I’ll see you name here and they’re like a comment and then I’ll get into a conversation with someone and you don’t realize how many people are just absolutely killing it but they don’t need to be up in the forefront of everyone saying it and I find those people fascinating because there’s so much you can that you can learn from those people you know it’s one things I love most about funnel hacking live is you literally could be sitting next to someone who has done 7 8 10 20 million dollars and you wouldn’t know any different I mean everyone’s all the same everyone’s they’re trying to learn from the best trying to improve their game and that’s I think that’s the fun part about the you know the culture that we built here is there we really again I loved is you made mention you know Russell’s podcast the other day on on the whole pride cycle because it’s so true and I think after you’ve gone through that cycle a couple times in your own life you uh you understand once you get there to the top but you don’t want that you know what the Lord forced me back down I’ll try to learn as much as I can about that yeah I think that is he who thinks he’s standing be where he doesn’t fall that’s right and I think that it’s when you get to that point that it is it gets yeah it’s scary actually and I did a live video that was inspired by that yesterday where I was talking about how I don’t want people say like you know I’m at the top of my game I want to be at the top I don’t want to be at the top of my game because when I’m at the top of my game it means that I’m on my way down there’s only one way from there it’s a depressing thing to be at the top it means you’re not gonna get any better if you get Tiger Woods yeah when he was at the top of his game or you know when you think about that phrase it is it’s a little depressing from an agency stand point I think that it for the if people can just say stupid super focused on what they’re actually there because there’s so many ways to make money yes you can get into crypto you know you can do all these different affiliate and MLMs and stuff like those are all great there’s ways to make money like all of them are probably they’re not all but most of them can be very legit in their own way but when you have all of them pulling at your attention it makes you do none of them well yeah so I agency owners get into it and then they see they think that courses are the way that they’re going to make all their money and that’s great and from it you can make so much money and info products but I right now make way more in my agency than I do selling an info product and it’s just what you’re focused on yeah again you gotta find your unique bill and you got to go with it and again I think Roger done an amazing job you know some things you mention on pockets which I just love now’s the fact you got to work for free there’s just there’s nothing better than work for free I love your ideas far as work for free once and then scart use that as a case study for everyone else you’ve done an awesome awesome job on that get appreciated time as we kind of get you know close wrapping things up here anything else want to make sure our listeners hear about or know about uh introduce you guys to Molly Kaiser Molly welcome to the show hey thanks so much for having me this may be a blast oh this is gonna be so much fun for one you’re a full of energy tons of stuff always going on and the topic is just crazy as well so if you guys are don’t know who Molly is Molly’s a member of our inner circle she’s also – comma Club winner in addition to that she’s gonna be at industries I’m so proud of her for all that she’s done so if you guys aren’t familiar with what she does she basically helps photographers specialize in boudoir photography so for those who may not know what boudoir is and I don’t know how they wouldn’t but if they don’t what exactly do you mean what is a boudoir photographer yeah it’s basically kind of like a Victoria’s Secret model shoot but for any woman at all anyone who wants to celebrate a milestone or just feel finally comfortable or really finally be able to look in the mirror and believe in their beauty that’s basically what we do our photographers do so it’s pretty cool we like to empower women I love it I was going through your site and take a look at some of your story again basically down to your last 81 cents and starting the business so uh again that takes some cojones I’m not in that one that’s a not the easiest thing to do and then to do it in this industry so tell me again I know your story but tell for our listeners how did you get involved in this industry oh my goodness well we don’t have like a week so I’m going to keep this room but basically in a nutshell you are correct I dropped out of college I had 81 cents to my name I was living with my grandmother she was like spotting me money to buy groceries it was that bad and you I just found college really wasn’t for me I’ve never been like a cookie cutter type person and so I just decided to dive into photography and just go for it I started shooting weddings things like that I quickly niched into boudoir and when my studio hit the six figures mark I started getting bombarded with messages from other photographers being like how did you do it oh my goodness like how on earth did you you know how did you make it full-time shooting only boudoir because most photographers you know they photograph every single type of ring baby’s wedding everything and so basically I started mentoring people one on one and as those of you listening probably know I quickly realize you know I can’t run a whole time studio and mentor people you know one on one pour like I just don’t have enough hours in the day so that’s when I started seeing people doing courses online this was in 2013 I was like man this is genius like you can take instead of repeating everything that you say over and over and over again you can just record yourself put it into a platform that is better for me and my students and then you have the ability to also sell it over and over again and help an unlimited amount of people so it’s it’s basically an incredible incredible opportunity we have right now with online courses I love it you’ve got yours has been really cool I was looking at your site and send the stuff you’re doing so your coaching program tell people look we were just kind of joking about the fact that you just did last two or three weeks done over $70,000 in coaching or it knocks our certification is that right you started a certification program within a what a 20-minute webinar is that would you say yeah so what I did was actually at the inner circle Meetup everyone was like you need to do the certification because basically the struggle I have is that a lot of people hear the word boudoir and they think of something that it’s not and I know you guys so they assume that it’s something that’s totally knotted so I wanted something that can not only help me train my students to go full-time you know get to six figures but also something that can set them apart so that when a person sees for example like their certification badge they can know you know this person’s professional they’re serious or someone you can try and so at that inner circle meeting like you need to do this you need to do this so um if you guys don’t know this about me I like if you tell me to do something like so I made it happen and I I just made a really quick 20 minute webinar something I was hearing from a lot of my students was that they they didn’t have like a lot of people were dropping off my webinar like sorry I have to go I have this you know my kid has a basketball game or whatever and I was finding that my 60 and 90 minute webinars for just getting too long so I made a 20 minute webinar I basically removed the three secrets I showed a ton of testimonials for my students and the stack of course and yeah we were able to book 25 calls from one 20-minute Facebook live webinar and we closed 21 of them which means we signed up 21 students in over $70,000 I’m looking at my board because I haven’t yeah it’s been incredible and they’re already seeing results so it’s awesome so how did the how did you drive traffic into your funnel there so it was I soon through Facebook logs that we did it yeah so okay so what we what we basically did was I used zoom and we drove some Facebook ad traffic to like a landing page with a many chat button on it I love to use many chat for webinar signups and then we streamed that zoom webinar to our Facebook group with our students who had already purchased our course we have two products the course and the certification and so yeah it’s cool because we had a mix of like cold and warm traffic and the interesting thing is that it was about a 50/50 split so I’m super happy to learn that the cold traffic signs up it’s almost kind of like hmm it’ll be interesting to see how we can scale this with more cold traffic I’m super excited about it I’m super excited I love good you’ve done a great job as far as your headlines at everything else I was looking at your site and some of the cool stuff you’ve got on there and see if I pull something stuff up is Bob I have to give much credit to Russel he is the title King well I again seriously I was that just some of you you water which is so interesting it depends on the niche right it’s so so interesting I think that’s great I get I for your niche it makes sense or people want to make sure they have they want to be professional and they want to make sure they get the right poses I don’t want to become cloth sleazy or anything else like free I kept hearing that they didn’t want to freeze up like they would go to the shoot and then they would freeze up and they wouldn’t know what to do yeah I just listened and then I helped from there I loved it and then you’ve got your booty shorts manifest don’t love that taken right out of experts oh and can I read this is that okay yeah please go for it so it says I’m a booty babe a booty babe is a photographer who is committed to empowering more women through the art of boudoir photography a booty Bay to somebody who is ready to throw away all the past excuses and turn their passion for boudoir into a full-time photography business hey booty babe is a photographer who doesn’t let anyone or anything get in the way of their goal to help others while changing their life and business for the better every day super cool I love again this whole idea as far as a manifesto I love the fact that you’re implement again you you implement it’s super super fast it’s just so awesome I love seeing that and I think it’s cool that right after your manifesto is where you had the call to action I’m ready to be a boot booty babe and it click right there and and takes him right in so obviously you’ve had the opportunity of going through a lot of life trials and everything else you’re now on top of your game you’re teaching others how to get on top of their game what are some of the things you mentioned to our other funnel hackers who are listening here as far as either tips that you’ve used in your business that have worked real well or things from a life standpoint that you’ve learned that would help benefit them oh man that’s so broad let’s see here you can pick anything I’ll go with it let’s see here well one thing more recently that’s been a huge game-changer for us is many chat I’m not sure if you guys have talked about that a lot I’m actually an avid fan of the podcast I haven’t noticed that yet so but yeah mini chat because with our email let’s say you know when I first started email marketing in 2013 our open rates were like something crazy like 60 percent and now it’s more like 18 to 20 percent which is so good I think compared to industry standard but we’ve definitely seen it decrease and whether that’s because we’re growing so quickly or just because I believe it’s because my personal audience is more on Facebook and so what’s interesting is we’ve been growing this many Chad audience which is a chatbot for Facebook Messenger and even though we only have a fraction of the number of people on many chat our open rates are like 85 to 90 percent so we’re actually getting more open rates more openers on many chat even though our email list is like three four times or something the size so something we’ve been doing like four webinars instead of having them opt in through email we have them opt in with many chat and that we really know I want to ask you about I’ve literally this has been a massive topic reason that was literally talking to Andrew Warren about it the other day I talked to Mike Dillard about it Warner he’s brilliant so we have to so I wanted to find out the question came up yesterday I was talking to Mike and that is do you only allow people to opt in only through mini chat or do you allow email and mini job you guys are gonna love this because I tested it recently so we used to just do many chat and then we had a couple people just literally just like two or three people that were like I don’t like Facebook bubble blocks I’m like oh man like I feel bad now okay fine we’ll do email or mini chat we got more opt-ins but our show up rate was cut in half so we’re not gonna we’re actually just gonna go back to just doing the mini chat button so I don’t know it works for us okay so I wanna make sure I understand that so you had yet both mini chat and email so yet some people off to come through mini chat but those who came through your email the show up rate was much less than those people came through mini chat and because of that you’re only going to mini chat as an option yeah so basically like when we let me tell them they have to register with mini chat like almost all of them do except for like what two people but if we give them the option almost everyone goes with email and that our show up rate is like super dismal so yeah we like money chat more I think that’s great I literally had this conversation Mike yesterday they’ve got a self-made man thing they’re coming out with judge didn’t Lily six days but he was going through the same thing and they saw basically about 80% which would click on email and only 20% on Facebook as far as messenger but when they were tested obviously had a ton more people when when when mini chat is the only way then interesting so it’s not the same result island they did they totally did so and again I can’t quite tell all the details on this but we have something super super cold coming out with action etics here that’s gonna involve messenger and you guys are gonna absolutely love it it’s you gotta wait to funnel hacking live and of course a frontal hacking like you’re gonna want to be make sure you’re sitting at Molly’s table she’s one of our roundtable hosts talking about all this crazy cool stuff as far as how she’s using these kind of cool things in her business so I wanted to find out more from so you’re basically driving from a facebook ad to a landing page landing page has many chat only option takes them then to a an auto webinar that basically is a zoom recorded webinar actually so you’re wrong okay so what we do is first of all Russell told me that I have to do my live webinars until we get to a million okay so that’s what we did and so now we’re doing Auto but our auto funnel is being built so here’s we’ve been doing for the live webinars that’s the stance that I can share with you guys basically yes we had them option with many chat and the cool thing is that on the webinar opt-in page we just used a clickfunnels template they click the mini chat button and as soon as they click it in many chat you’re allowed to say hey once they click this button they can be a new tab can be opened so when they click it’s sending them a Facebook message while simultaneously sending them to a new page and the new page is our tripwire so we’re triggering the tripwire and then also at the same time sending them a Facebook message so the Facebook message essentially says hey cool we see are interested in the training which date and time would you like they select which one they want cuz it’s live but yeah if you were doing auto you could just pop in the replay or something or fifteen minutes or something like that so they choose the date and time and then after they do we say awesome to confirm your spot please reply back with your email address and then we use zapier to zap their email address to you know whatever emailing clickfunnels whatever you use and then and then after that we will think we message them again and we say oh and by the way so on the training you’re gonna what we do and we sell oh I love that so is your trip wire also pop-up on the side so they see that what it is actual price yeah so it pops up when they click and then also in the message once they’re done registering in the Facebook message it also tells them about the trip wire there as well so is the trip wire price the full price on the pop-up and sixty percent off in a mini chat actually no but that’s a great idea no it’s both pages we just use a click funnels page and then we have like an auto video playing of me talking about the deal I just thought it would be social proof real quick there and say hey it’s actually a 60% off you have to split test and get that back to me and let me know that one yeah literally so tell me as far as you’ve had the opportunity now of first of all again I hope you guys heard and if you haven’t I’m gonna restate it she basically did a live webinar so she did a million bucks that is again I love it’s one of things I love about our inner circle you guys actually implement everything Russell says and I think part of its got a point because the only people who are really successful in the inner circle or those who just take massive action and do everything he says but that is seriously it’s one of the keys so that you guys who are listening and you’re doing a webinar don’t get so excited to get to an auto webinar until you cross through a million dollars I know that seems like forever but so what your what is your course how much what do you charge on your on your webinar yeah so Jesse just so we can just so everyone can learn a little happen with with booty baby where’s it gonna go all right this is great so now that all of our live webinars are converting we get about a 40% to 75% show abrade and a 10% purchase of those who are on and then we run the ads so on the horizon for us really is scaling we need to hire a phone sales person call me the webinars and really just scaling honestly it’s I feel like it’s almost when you’ve been grinding so hard for so long and you’re at the point where you can like automate it almost feels like mmm why am I actually getting sleep this is weird it’s like too good the sleep thing I think people always talked about it supposed to be a good thing it actually works so uh that’s not one of the perks of working at clique but why I love having you on again for those of you guys I can’t what’s up everybody Russell Brunson and welcome to the marketing secrets podcast today my talk is about how I’ve made over three million dollars in just 90 short minutes so the big question is this power entrepreneurs like us who didn’t cheat and take on venture capital we’re spending money from our own pockets how do we mark it in a way the lets us get our products and our services and the things that we believe in out to the world and yet still remain profitable alright everybody so um unless I’m living in Iraq you’ve probably heard everybody talking about what happened last weekend which was kind of crazy so I had a chance to speak at Grant cardones TEDx event and yes the rumors are true we did my presentation in the end I sold a special offer and we sold over three million dollars in sales not just contracts but collected cash in the bank in just 90 short minutes and I’ve got a ton of questions coming in from all over the place so how we did it why we did it and all sorts of craziness and so I just wanted to use this episode I can tell you a little backstory and show you the actual process how we did it and then at the end I got 12 questions that a lot of guys are asking as well that was in kind of cover and so that’s kind of game plan so with that said um I’ll kind of jump back in the backstory so a couple years ago was the first time I ever heard about Grant Cardone when the guys that works for me Randy grizzle he he came to me system about Grant Cardone and Mike who’s that he’s like he’s this guy he showed me some videos I was like oh so he came aware of him then I started following him and just start seeing his stuff and last years probably a year and a half ago he he decide he was in launch an event he called it the 10x growth con and he launched this event and I was not one of the speakers when they launched it and as they started launching striking and bigger and bigger and finally one of my friends Brian post he reached out to me said hey you should really speak this events can be a big deal and I’m like I don’t have time to speak at events anymore much as I would love to and he’s like no this is one I think it’d be worth for you to do so he introduced me somebody over there and next thing we knew I was on the I was on the the page as the one of the speakers and I’d know Grant Cardone at the time he didn’t know me activate a call before they event to find out what I was gonna talk about and I kind of told him and he’s like well I want you to I just remember he’s like I’ve had other people like internet guys try self stuff and you know they’re not very good at it in fact when you go out there just go tell him the price first and just talk about and do people will buy that’s like you know the you guys know my backstory I’ve been doing this for a long time for over a decade and I’ve spoken on stages a lot I know the process and I was like well this is the way I want to do it right no no like you shoot our way into work and I was like okay and my head I was like now I’m doing it my way like I know how it works but I’d you know I didn’t want to like be weird on their first relationship or first call so they okay so when is that event I think there was a camera many people this is a 2,200 2800 don’t remember the exact numbers we got there and you know we showed up Dave they would or nice show up in a big box of order you know a box full order forms and we asked him so Kay when I speak tomorrow you know I need a couple sales tables and need I need staff to help man the tables into closed sales and they’re like why would you do that like we don’t have staff for you and I was like this is how it works and they never any respect from the time they never see me clothes or cell and so I couldn’t get them to even give me a like literally a table to sell from and so I’m like okay well this is how we sell so luckily Alex Leila her MOSI and who our inner circle members and two comma Club winners and soon to be eight figure Award winners they were in the audience as well and and I said hey can you guys help us close sales and make sure where’s the table mic there’s no table here so there’s like three door exit doors so Dave wasn’t one door at the box of applications and the handful of pens we bought it staples in 94 and so is Alex and Leila and so when I did my whole thing and I did my clothes and people started running to the sides to sign up and Dave and Alex lay there pulling normal forms out of a box trying to sign up people and in a short 30 minute window there they were able to close just shy of a million dollars in sales I don’t know where exactly was I know it was almost a million but not quite in sales in this thing I remember telling them afterwards Clegg off stage and Grant Cardone came up to me and first time we actually met in person he was like I never seen something like that before like what he’s like I’ve never seen a table rush like that people are running to the bus side to buy your stuff I was like yeah I kind of told you guys that but nobody believed me and and anyway and I was like that’s us how the process works and and I knew I remember afterwards he was like I want you to show me how to do that so if you watched some of the faces or some of the interviews he done with me afterwards you know always about that like I never seen someone do that before right that was the coolest thing in the world and anyway so about a month or so later they called me on the phone in the night Kate we’re thinking out do another event is someone gonna try to get out 9,000 people out if you want to speak at it it was like well first off I don’t think that’s possible you know 9,000 people to then but your last meant was so good I think we could you know if you do to get a more than willing to come sit cool he’s like you’re gonna be our big money speaker and he put me on the thing and they started promoting this thing for Ike the next year and lo and behold despite like my skepticism they had 9,000 people in the room like it was crazy it was in Vegas in at Mandalay Bay and the huge arena that you know I know they do boxing matches there they do concerts there like it was crazy and so they they filled it out so probably a month and a half two months ago we did call from before an event that I can’t says what’s happening and you know we’re gonna you know we made solar 8500 tickets to the time like we’re in have all of 9,000 sold and I was like oh crap and so we start talking about to do the sales process and there I go he what’s gonna happen to Ram an app on the phone so you skate up and tell them to buy on the app and that’s how you leave your table or table rush I was like no that’ll no that’ll kill all the momentum and that no that’s how it works make no like please please do not list me on the app and they didn’t all the other speakers were in the app with their price points knees click Abunda by my please will claim in the app like the whole Sokol social psychology is selling happens if you’ll stand up and they’re all running to go buy something like please don’t take that away from you please say agreed do not put me in the thing and then I was okay we need tables mic well how is it gonna work like this arena there’s three levels bottom floor first floor second throw our third floor and and then it’s like this huge it’s like a big basketball arena right so it’s like there’s people it can go all around the whole thing and they’re like how are you gonna do something I don’t know let’s let’s brainstorm this we spend the next couple weeks had a brainstorm out this process and so August I wanted to go and prepared but biggest problems like I can’t speak run the back room signups I’m like run the back of the room unless you’re on 2nd or 3rd floor 4th floor 2nd floor then you gotta run up the stairs and run halfway down the hallway to the other you know and it’s just I so stressed out like how are we gonna make this work and so as I was planning this talk a lot of people and one really good idea that I got from Brendon Bouchard samhitas no Brendon he told me he spoke at a big event like that one time and said but he does he he said afterwards people are gonna get pictures with you which is true I was like stuck in the casinos and the elevators and everywhere people trying to pictures with me but he said the way he did is he put up a picture booth right next to the sales table and said they were who signs up today you get a picture with me so you can have it and they say what happened is that you know bunch people ran over to buy and they get in line but so it happened took in an hour Saudis pitch here so everyone’s seeing this big line of people and some working week coming over and coming over says you just have Billy keep closing from social proof for like an hour so afterwards that’s like that’s a really cool idea so I decided to take that idea and a bunch of other ones and this is kind of how I choreographed it so the first thing you should all from sets from stage selling one of the biggest things you don’t want people to do it’s like when you’re about to make your offers to handout order for people always do this and drives me crazy they each of their pitch and the mic alright weird and out the order form is ever starts handing out the order forms else and everyone’s like looking at each other again the order forms of handing it they’re reading the thing they stop focusing on the speaker when I start handing out order forms to my sells rate dramatically shot up so I have a rule that’s like never hand out order form ever make them go to the back of the room to get the order form that for it therefore it creates the the table rush to the back but the problem in it this way is first off if we wanted how to order forms we couldn’t cuz there’s nine thousand seats that’s impossible second thing is because there’s like tables on like different levels and things like that like I just like it would have been a nightmare even as I’ll get you in a minute I get took about three hours to process just get people thought the order form is because it was so so many people so I was like we need to figure out a way to get order forms in the hands without them knowing there’s an order form because if an order form is gonna kill the sales and so I was like how we can do this awesome we had this idea for the sneak attack so let me show you the sneak attack yes those who are watching this live if you if you’re hearing it you want to see go to marketing secrets calm and you can actually see the video this let me explaining this right now I’m if you listen to podcast so just kind of walk there’s me so first thing it is like okay what if we gave them all packet so this is this is the packet right here I was like inside this packet we’re gonna have two things number one is the order form because this is what they need to have to fill out and then I’m gonna have as little detail as possible on the order form just enough they know what they’re getting and then you know how to do it from the Philadelphia order form my go on son everyone’s chair see an order form and the second thing is like most of all I can have a pen right about 9,000 people potentially buying like there’s no pen so like I need a sneak attack a pen into everyone’s seat so the goal with the sneak attack this order form in this pen and everybody see what nothing no neither there’s an order form there that’s why we put in this really cool package it looks awesome and then sided we put a couple things number one we put in these really cool I build funnel stickers when it goes in your laptop one that goes on your phone so they get these like here’s a gift from Russell reciprocity right here’s this really cool sticker and the number two we’ve given these cool pop sockets go on the back your phone say funnel hacker I was able to do a couple things as one is actually demoed how to use these during my presentation number two they put these on the phone now that now they’re part of our community their funnel hackers so there’s two gifts that were there and then I had a note sheets for my presentations like you know the schita here you can open it up and you can take notes what we’re talking about so although these three things whole Goldie’s is to is to be so cool and exciting that people do not notice the fact that there’s a sneaky little order form and a pen inside the envelope this is how we are Trojan horsing an order form in every single seat in the entire arena and then we had this the envelope and the back was a big huge sticker that said warning do not open until Russell Brunson this presentation begins that was on the back of the sticker so that was the plan we’re gonna we started getting it all printed like nine thousand or printed and put together but then the problem happen is that we found out that the seats through the event they don’t lay flat they pop up when people aren’t sitting on it it’s like we sew our envelopes wouldn’t sit on their seats cuz they would pop up they’d fall to the ground it’s like crap now we gotta figure out a way to make sure that these packets actually stay on their desk so then we went in ordered 9000 these bags say clickfunnels on it and then we put the pack inside the bags then hung the bags on the chair so then the next questions like well how do you get nine thousand these out to everybody and so we had to figure out how to do it so we ended up doing it the night before I spoke I’m Ashley that was over we I think we really hired 10 or 15 different temp workers plus we had about ten people from our team and they went out to every single chair and take the packet inside the envelope and hook it hump it on a chair and talking about – now for three hours – it the entire thing to blanket the entire audience with the Trojan horse order forms wrapped up with a bunch of cool gifts and things like that again so that was the thing then the way was gonna happen is that after somebody decided to buy they were going to run to if they were a VIP there’s a VIP room at the table there on the bottom floor there was there’s two tables in the back of the bottom floor and they were in anywhere in the bowl around here to go section 118 so some people grew up stairs right there some to lever upstairs and run clear around the whole thing and then what they would do is they would order it would take me or they would take the order form right here it’d fill out the order form then take it to someone on our team and then some of our team would then hand them this packet right here so it’s fun to build their secrets what they bought then they could open up this thing up and then a couple things inside of it they’d pull it out and number one is here’s the thing it shows me how to claim what they just purchase so there’s no how to go online what’s gonna happen and how we’re gonna text them their login and if they have any issues their support issues number two is there’s a letter to their business partner spouse explaining what they just bought so that they make it home that I like why did you spend this money and the number three was a golden ticket if they didn’t get a picture with Russell so they were handed this packet back they’re supposed to rip this open grab the gold take it out then run up to 118 stand in line to get pictures with me and on top that we get some other cool bonuses we gave them the funnel hacker cookbook if they brought this to us and we also gave them the expert seeker stock I’m so here’s audiobook they could plug in the air and listen to when they’re on the ride home so those are the two things we had created to get them to buy so that was kind of the the game plan so went out there the second thing is that I was into my presentation but the problem is that everybody at the year before had seen my presentation we’d signed up I think 450 almost 500 people the year before in 1997 and then over the last 12 months grant has been promoting that presentation like crazy so I think like half million people have seen that presentation through him and his audience we sold a lot of clickfunnels because of it Thank You grant we love you but I was like I hang you the exact same presentation to the same audience who’s pretty much already seen this thing but I needed to give the same framework of the presentation because the framework is what sells clickfunnels when she’s been proven to sell clickfunnels and couldn’t make the same offer because because we were charging more first off for charging three thousand dollars and then number two not only charged three thousand dollars we were trying obviously I needed to create better off works I want a neighbor who bought last year to buy again and a bunch of other things so that was some of the the groundwork so why do we raise price to three thousand dollars why a bunch of reasons one is my goal was when we first started as my goal is make which make three million dollars in an hour and a half this is the reason why when you do an event like this 50 percent where you sales goes to the hosting the event you keep the other 50% and so my goal was to try to make I want to I wanted to net a million dollars an hour that way of somebody ever ask me how much I charged in how I could late well it’s a million dollars an hour so that was kind of my selfish reason why I wanted that was my goal I was like hey 9,000 people if we can close one out of nine at three thousand bucks apiece every three million dollars which means I netted a million dollars an hour for an hour and a half which would be really really cool so that was the goal going into it and so because of that I took my my framework my presentation and I read tweaked a tree changed it as you you know but the the structure was still the same i customized it very specific to their audience can know their I know who the audience is now I know who but they’re looking for a height of the businesses they have what their major concerns worse we crafted the presentation to speak directly to them and then we made the offer better we added a bunch more cool things we had a funnel scripts for your ad traffic secrets a bunch of other cool things and so the presentation was similar to ones I’ve done the past but was definitely upgraded for this event and so I got on the stage excuse me was crazy we got there I supposed to speak the ground supposed to speak the second day and I was speak right after him we got there and grants voice was gone but I grant can’t speaks Europe right now I’m like oh I’m not ready for this and so we had a kind of scramble go everything together and they reduced me I came on stage and did my presentation and and at the end of presentation I sold and from that we had we had over three million dollars collected from the presentation and we’re still I think we’ve another play 1/2 million or so in declines we’re going through right now but all said and done scheme somewhere between you know three and a half to four million dollars but for simplicity sake we made at least you know more than three million dollars 90 minutes from using things I netted more than a million dollars an hour for an hour and a half my time which was amazing and it was it was cool so that’s kind of behind the scenes some of the tricks and the things we did to make sure that that actually worked I hope I’m sure I miss some things oh yeah and so after I did my whole presentation we closed it was crazy like they took me they they had security guards there’s chair carrier I took me back and people are running to all eight four eight different places right like I could see people running to the to the VIP table I saw people run into the back tables we were running upstairs it was weird cuz typically when I get a table rush you just in a smaller room and you hear that their hustle and the bustle and so it’s really really out a lot of times the fact that loot a brush will get so loud in the room during the table or so I can’t even finish my presentation whereas this one because the the stadium was so big I heard a lot of rustling but we didn’t get loud it was kind of weird thing I like I’ve no idea people actually buy us kind of nervous so I ended later when I went off stage and then security guards took me the bathroom got me a drink and took me back up to where the picture booth was at when I got to the picture with a walk through the door and I look out there and I see this section had all these extensions I think it’s called the people weave back and forth and about 5 or 6 levels deep or always people as far both directions as I could see and people tell me later that the line literally wrapped around the entire arena I stood there and people come in shake their hands take a picture next verse the next person the next person and took like 3 half or 4 hours with the pictures over 1000 1200 people whatever was a picture after picture after picture like I remember my face being really sore when I got married on my wedding night this was like that but way worse wait longer just the promise Michael it was crazy it was awesome and then we’re back home I went back to the hotel that night went to the room and we had 8 or 9 people sitting there trying to process all transactions fast I could which was really cool as well I’m just saying he’s huge stacks there war reforms and seeing our whole team go through processing orders and they what happened as the by the time was done we processed I think we had in the bank like 2.4 million but there was like like eight hundred plus thousand dollars and failed credit card payments and so next morning missed an email and we also texted every credit card fail and come back to the to the table so by Traveler morning I came down the booth the 10x booth was there and there was a line of people at 4 or 5 people deep like wrapping us through stanchions like you know the big line of probably 50 to 60 people in line gave their credit cards updated and then and then we text to grant and his team and said hey you go this was awesome I’m like I think I could push people over the edge you know this is a group full of sales people like they probably want to learn how to sell what if I did a special one-day event where I showed them how to sell with I just sold and if you give me ten minutes I think I can close another who knows worth the people and so they agreed so let me get back on stage the next day for about ten minutes come up there and basically tell everyone hey yeah we did three million dollars in sales if you guys want to see what we did everyone already signed up congratulations you get this for free I’m doing one day workshop I’m gonna walk us through how we do our presentation and then so you didn’t now’s the time push me over the edge stamp right now go get signed up and you get this bonus as well and apparently we said we got about another twenty fifty three hundred thousand dollars and sales came from that from this from the double close we nicknamed me at the double close so it was the second close in the second day and it was really really cool and uh yeah drink anything else want to share with you guys so would be that we’d be double close and I was it was amazing such a fun experience so I’m alright so with that said I’ve there’s twelve questions that Julie story and pulled off of Facebook that people were asking me like crazy I probably had already answered some of these I’m gonna go through it anyway and and then she’s probably good for this into a really cool blog post if you ever see a detailed detailed breakdown of this with images and screenshots of all the cool stuff we talked about it’ll also be posted on the marketing secrets blog over marketing secrets calm all right so here we go the title of these questions are the ten questions everyone keeps asking about selling three million dollars in 90 minutes there’s actually twelve questions so there we go right question number one how long do take you to create your presentation great question so the framework that I used was the framework for my funnel hatched presentation those would follow me for last three years I did start a brand new slide deck over I just slide number one I went through and created all new slides but I was taking a lot of sections from other presentations and kind of bleeding them in I started that Monday I worked on all day Monday and all day Tuesday let’s see all right Monday Tuesday and then Wednesday I flew to go see Dean gracio see so Wednesday I was him all day and we flew from from Boise Arizona spent all day there then from there we flew there to back to our hotel in in Vegas that night I spent some time and then Thursday I spent probably half a day so probably total said and done probably three three full days on the presentation if I was doing it from scratch will take a lot longer that obviously probably take me about we can have two two weeks there’s three days kind of reworking it and refiguring the whole thing out and getting it all to work number two I just come up with such a great offer so a couple things first off you know I’ve had my fun iyx offer for a while so I kind of know what the is and I was try to make it better right so what are the things we can add to make this offer even better than it already is if that’s if that’s possible and so that’s kind of where we were we started at they looks like my battery or camera here I’m using this presentation is overheating so I’m gonna pause this really quickly the battery cool down I’ll be back to answer question two to twelve here in a few seconds all right I’m back hopefully the camera won’t overheat again but during the break James thought it would be a good idea if I showed you guys a stack of the order forms processed so each one of these counts as a three thousand dollar bill so yeah that’s that’s three thousand so yes this works and as I’m storing this somebody well it wasn’t on the questions here I saw as I just go onto Facebook right click record something asking it where I made it my presentation from it’s like you guys this is the perfect webinar script if you haven’t read the expert seekers book yet literally it’s I just used the script that’s in the expert secrets book oh I have a problem with secrets I just tell everybody all my secrets and so the presentation is literally word-for-word from the expert seekers book same one that I’ve been using and trying to keep you all USU’s as well so they are all right back to the questions for question number two how’d you come up with such a great offer so again I just took our off we’ve been using in the past and we try to Ted exit the event named as 10x is like I kept saying like grant told me at NXT event how can make this better so instead of even a copywriting training I gave him funnel scripts instead of just kidding like traffic workshop I gave them traffic secrets um I did a call I did the webinar blueprint with Jason flatland last week before the event and one things he talked about it’s like when he tries to include bonuses he’s like first off I tried to like get proof that the bonuses actually worth a lot and so one of the bonuses was I gave people access to traffic secrets which is Jon Reese’s course on how to get traffic I bought the company from him license all the content from him and so said me saying hey good access to traffic secrets I literally showed here’s all the wire transfers all the money that I sent John Reese to buy traffic seekers from I spoke to give you this bonus it cost me almost a million dollars to mail you this bonus and and people were just going crazy like dude you spend million dollars and I gotta give you you know $3,000 for that so it makes it really big so example if your try created bone it’s like one thing Jason says really smartest is like I go to hire someone who’s awesome at this thing and I don’t just he saying usually I could get it for free because like instead I go and I pay them and I’ll like wire in $10,000 or something so I can show be like I literally spent $10,000 for this interview and you guys get it for free as part of this course so just gives you like a proof element but anyway that was kind of a cool thing but that’s kind of how we made the offer so great it’s software if you look at also a structure my offers is like when you invest in the funnel hacks training today I mean you all this other stuff for free so click funnels became free traffic secrets is free funnel scripts is free you know all the other things are all free free free free free learning the paying for is the actual training so that’s kind of a cool win structure and then again I had the bonus this way that felt like a cookbook and the audiobook they got to leave with which people love leaving events with stuff that they can like show they actually invest in something so they get they got the book they got the mp3 player and then uh what else what else oh and then the picture something they could only get right there’s like you get pictures meats you take at home and that way you’ve got a picture you can use and I told people to put on the wall as a reminder of the commitment they made they’re gonna 10x their business the next 12 months so those are some things for the offer what are the things you dread before a presentation to stay focused so for me like I get I still get nervous into smaller events usually I’m in rivers for an hour to before I go onstage this one I was in respect tuning out days before I got stage I just had this this nervous energy which wears you out so part of it he-man energy ups was like eating really healthy was like you know making sure I’m trying to get sleep at night and trying to like just keep energy up in the morning I’m getting ready I was like listening to music trying to you know get myself in state and then a lot longer for me is like getting down there like I had to go the night before and actually stand on the stage like some reason that calms my nerves I see like this is what its gonna look like what the audience is gonna look like that was a big part for me and then when I got down there was just like you know I pray a lot during these nervous times I’m praying live I’m gonna be able to serve the highest level I’m gonna be able to say the things are inspired people motivate people to actually change their life and yes a lot of praying and then when it gets really close I jump around eye cream energy out should I get prepared and ready and then start calling your name and the next thing you know you step out there and as soon as for measly something on the stage and I see everybody then all the nerves just kind of crash and then it’s like boom into state and used to go hope that helps number four what’s the hardest thing about logistics of processing that many cells so quickly so I can talk about that the fact nobody had pens there’s nowhere to send people to order forms and so kind of what we did with those packets and the sneak-attack the Trojan horse order forms and pens that was the biggest part to get to work and they have enough people to take orders we literally had people there over an hour along line just to build take people’s money which I felt bad the next three or four speakers because literally people on the hallway either buying or they were watching this whole circus that was happening out there this huge line so it was pretty cool I wonder if I’d how do you prepare your team under your company for this event it was a big a lot of preparation ahead of time we had pre meetings explaining the process and we got there we showed everyone kay here’s the tables are happening usually got to be doing here’s you get this you got to return this and if the most part worked really good we had some temp workers there he didn’t pay attention very well to kind of mess some things up but for the most part it ran really flawlessly it was just good number six how has it been since the event um it’s been been crazy I was in Vegas from the day in half afterwards just processing orders and get stuff done it was tough like man I I remember in the morning I need to get some water so there was this little shop where you can buy stuff right next to the elevator so I jump in elevators came down went to buy some waters and I got stuck out there for twenty five minutes taking pictures of people and like I’m in my jammies my hair is all messed up I’m tired Mike I just show you some water for my wife and I had someone came to me they’re like like you you buy your own water you’re the only multi-millionaire I know who buys their own water I thought was kind of funny that was kind of crazy and then um we needed to get b-roll though so part of me like we made three million dollars presentation I’m gonna make a lot more than three me telling the story this presentation and you’ll see some stuff coming out over the next few months of how we’re gonna keep keep this the momentum going but your part was like telling the story like we had I had three of my video guys they’re capturing stuff and one of them Dan usher he he’s making a promo promo video for the bonus like gay people with live events so anyway you guys will see that here in the near future but one of the things that that he wanted to think I want an aerial shot of the event because like you can’t find copter enamel Bay and so he went and rented a helicopter one of the helicopters there’s no doors on it and then we got to go in the helicopter and they harness this to the helicopter and then we flew at night past mandolin Bay and I got to hang out of the helicopter looking back him as he’s filming me Frank a three-second b-roll shot the really use in the promotional video so we did a lot of fun stuff like that and then my we got to my wife shopping to go get some clothes and myself shopping as well to go get closer lacking live so that which was kind of cool and then have that went to Michael Jackson show which was really cool as well and it was a good time but a good time it was hard to walk through the halls afterwards just get him on bar by Evan wanted to take pictures it was tough because I want to give everyone the chance and I was like if you bought you got your picture so like that was your shot and anyway it was just I feel so bad to how people know and I tell a lot people know and it’s just it was tough but that’s been craziest fun watching at Facebook that was talking about it apparently traffic inversion events happening right now and I’m out there but um my lunch my team’s there and they said that it’s the talk of the whole event everybody’s talking about it was having any texts and boxers and Facebook messengers people all over the place that are messaging about it so it’s kind of fun to just that it was that big of a deal that people know about it I never said what’s one piece of advice you give someone about stuff from stage or from the webinar study this book I spend here my life writing this book so you know exactly what to say how to say it where to say it and then go watch all my webinar it’s like even if you’re gonna buy my stuff watch to learn the process learn the energy level like all those 10 things you need to be able to produce a webinar and and to do it yeah model a Model Model Model like you know one of my friends who’s now has got a career writing webinar so people he told me is like I watched your Fox webinar at least a hundred times and I’m like people were doing webinars and like mic if you watch right and like no I haven’t seen yet like you kidding me like do your homework anyway there you go see like how I pitched why I pitched see my tonality my voice patterns by how did the stack and the clothes and how I create urgency and scarcity how mentoring questions like all those things are keys to it so you can read in the book but then go watch it to understand it [Music] number eight why did you have people do manual or said digital okay again everyone else who sold the event had people plot their phones and and click on the app to buy the product couple things number one when we were in the venue the app had no internet access people that were doing that the cells actually didn’t go through so a lot of their speakers rank okay well when you leave the event go and find it number two is half of selling is like the social pressure and the psychology behind like social proof this is actually real so it’s like people point to on their by nobody knows who else is buying we’ve all running up and they’re running someone they see a line that wraps around the arena and they see all this energy excitement and momentum so I don’t know the exact that is but like everyone else gets this so it must be something i needi part of as well so it causes a social situation here as well so that’s why we did the old-school web what instead of what would number nine what was the incentive for them to wait in that along the line during the table rush it was able to come get a picture with me which makes me make a dumb little thing but it’s important to people like I just know that every time I walk through the hallway before and after I was getting mugged by people who wanted the picture with me which is funny for my wife she’s like why do people want their picture with um I have no idea it doesn’t make sense to me either but that was a big thing that people people want that and gives them something tangible so that was the big part of class with a SATA line they got the physical fun like a cookbook and they mp3 players so it just gives it some tangible as well and we give Billy people to meet you some advise me you invest from you they want to meet you in or she can have a picture if you means the world to them number ten do you feel different now that you’ve broken another huge record honestly no I feel exactly the same my goal now is just not to let my head get too big but definitely to leverage it to grow clickfunnels even further so I guess said earlier like three three million dollars a 90 minutes is cool but the thirty million dollars were generating the next twelve months because of this because the story is more important and that’s what’s gonna happen next and that’s the most people give up most people do the first thing and then they stop we the first thing then you will watch watch those next three or four months is that how I leverage this you will definitely see it a number eleven is Grant Cardone getting kickbacks and saves his event yes you split the the proceeds of yourselves fifty-fifty with the event promoter the other ones did all the hard work yet they to get the people in the room so they get half of the profits and it’s totally totally totally worth it number twelve is anything you do differently [Music] maybe but I don’t know yet you know I think I think overall we executed pretty well we thought a lot through it and it worked really really well I think my my double close my second presentation I would have choreographed that one a little better may get some slides some things I just kind of let there and kind of talked so probably did choreograph that a little bit differently but for the most part really really happy with how it all went and yeah so there you go guys that was what happened at TEDx events have I made a million dollars in 90 minutes it was tons of fun looking on the near future as I tell this story more and I’m kind of walking you
