– Hey, this is Russell Brunson again. Welcome to part five of five of my exciting interview with Tai Lopez. If you’ve missed any of the past episodes, go back in the playlist and make sure you watch all of them, because this interview was really, really fun. it was exciting. It took place from 1:00 a.m. to like three or four in the morning. Some of the stuff we said, something I wouldn’t normally tell people in a normal audience. But because I was tired, I was with Tai,

I was showing off. We dropped some really good value and some cool things I think you would love. So, with that said, were about to start the fifth episode. During this last of this series, we talked about a lot of really powerful things like proximity is power, how to build a team, how to surround yourself with amazing people that’ll help you get to where you want to get to.

So if you’re struggling at all and you’re like I just, I know that people are doing it but I haven’t figured out how to do it yet, I think this interview is gonna help you a ton. A lot of really cool things in here. So with that said, let’s check out this video and afterwards I’ll jump back on and kind of have some final words for you. I appreciate you watching this series and we’ll talk to you after the interview. – What is the one and only thing you must have in your business model to succeed? The foremost, most important technique in building the overall business model. Is it marketing? Is it having, you got a good business partner. That I think is super, in my opinion, business partner is huge. – Man, there’s too many important things. – Good book on that called Working Together by Micheal Eisner.

You’d be surprised how many, what percentage, large percentage of billionaires had business partners. Whether it’s, number one guy for 18 years straight was, not right now, but Bill Gates. He had Paul Allen and then he had Steve Ballmer. You have Warren Buffet, who’s been number two on and off. He had his Charlie Munger, and you just go through the list. And there’s been people who did it without a partner, but the majority of people have partners. So that’s my answer, what’s your answer? –

I think I want to double on down on that. I think it’s huge. You know, I had a lot of businesses prior to ClickFunnels that marginally did well. It wasn’t until we did ClickFunnels. And it was fun, because when we built it, Todd, who’s my co-founder, who built the software, he was working with me kind of as an employee, not really, but kind of as an employee, and we had that in for ClickFunnels, and he’s like okay I want to do this, but I want to be your partner. At first I had this fear of like, oh, but like, this is my business and my all these kind of things. – Right. And luckily I was so grateful, that I was like, you know what, I’m gonna do it.

And I opened it up and what’s so cool is that like, he then went and took that and it became his business. So it wasn’t like nine to five, it became his life. – Yes. – And then after we launch ClickFunnels, we started adding people. Instead of doing what typical people do, and they hire a bunch of employees. I think it was ’cause Avengers had just come out and I love that movie. I was like we need to build an Avenger team. We can, and I read an article, I wish I’d have kept it, because it was so cool, but it said that an A player is worth 32 hundred times more than a B player. – Oh, yeah! – That’s 32 hundred times. – [Tai] Think about a good programmer. –

Yeah so I was like, let’s just get a handful of A players and let’s put them, and that’s going to be what we do. Like your partner he asked me, he’s like, so how many developers were at ClickFunnels? And I was like, I was kind of nervous because he just told me his last company had a hundred and something developers. And I was like, we’ve got 12. – What? – There’s only 12 developers in ClickFunnels. I’m like, yeah. He’s like, how is that possible? I’m like, we only have A players. We literally, that was the whole model. Get the best in the world. And they can do, one good person can do the work of 10, 15, 20 other people.

So, that’s how we’ve done things. – With programmers, they say that one good programmer is a good 30 to 60. We have a drink game campaign coming on Indiegogo. How about people who want to use Kickstarter, Indiegogo to raise money? You worked anything, and done ClickFunnels help them at all on that, because that’s its own kind of funnel. – Yes, I haven’t personally done it, but I’ve seen some people do it where they use ClickFunnels not to sell the product, but for lead gen ahead of time. – Okay. – To try to build up tons of pressure and excitement about their things. So, they thought then to take their Indiegogo video or their Kickstarter video and put it on a ClickFunnels page and just get options, and like pre-sell it. –

Yes. – Build a huge list, build a big following, and then when their thing goes live then they have this huge following they can just push right there and get a lot more traction a lot faster. – So you can use it to generate free clients, free emails, just versus paid stuff. – Yeah. – Be honest, you can use Shopify. It has some similar things. ClickFunnels, each of them have their pros and cons. Some of you are selling on Amazon making a lot of money. And honestly, let’s talk about that for a second. So, to be unbiased here, do you think there’s a time when it makes sense to maybe be up on ClickFunnels and up on Amazon? – Our biggest growth right now on ClickFunnels is Amazon sellers. – Okay, so, tell us how those work. How is that going? – So, a couple reasons why. One is like some people get spooked, because they lose an account, or they know someone who lost an account, and they’re like, if Amazon shuts me down, my business is gone, right? –

Yes. – And so, some people will come, ’cause like I need to control my destiny and have two. And so that’s a big reason why a lot of people do, just to be able to have two places they can sell it. Another big thing people do is, a lot of time they’re using Amazon to generate customers. For example, we had a buddy who sells the cell phone cords, does like a hundred grand a day in cell phone cords things. – What? – He gets them in China for like a penny, and sells them for like 20, 30 bucks. It’s crazy. So the thing comes in the mail. – A penny? – The box comes in the mail. – [Tai] You open it up. There’s your cord, and there’s a big card in the thing that says, hey, if you want a second cord for free, go to whatever.com. It goes to that page, it’s a ClickFunnels page.

They put in their shipping address. Boom, now they’ve got their customer’s contact info from Amazon over here. And now they’re able to sell them all the other stuff they sell. They sell power banks. They sell all the other, that type of product. – Cause it’s only a penny. – Yeah. – And what do they get in? They tell them you get another cord if you sign up to the email list or something? – Yeah, you basically go to this page, fill out your address, they’ll ship you a second cord for free. – Let’s talk about email for a second. Huge thing.

What is ClickFunnels, and what do you see in the future of email marketing? I think in my business I probably make, you know, anywhere from 200,000 to a million dollars a month, just having a good email list in just one of my businesses. Do you see the same trend? Email is still important, it’s not completely replaced? – I love email. I don’t think it will ever be completely replaced. What I’m finding fascinating is, we’re doing a blend now of email and also like FaceBook bot messengers. – Yes. – But using them both together has been really powerful. It’s like you have a message here, and then the FaceBook thing that complements it. –

Walk us through that for people who don’t know. What are you saying? So, we all know, we’ve been to websites, you put your email in and you get on some newsletter list. What are you doing with bot? When we hear the word bot, Are we talking about auto bots? Are we talking about transformers? We’re talking about auto-inserting a message into their FaceBook Messenger? – [Russell] Yeah, so at ClickFunnels we’re finishing out our platform that’ll do bots. And basically, someone will fill in their email address and there’ll be a little button that’ll say, do you also want us to send you this info through Messenger, right? –

They opt into both at once? – Yes. – So, people check a box, and do most people check both? – It’s a really high percent, yeah. So, it’s interesting if you look at, so we have, I think it’s over a million person email list, and I think we have forty thousand people on our Messenger list. – Okay. – And if we broadcast both of them, we get almost the same amount of clicks from each. – [Tai] Really? From just forty thousand? – [Russell] Yes. – [Tai] So if you had a million on the other one, it would be destroying email. – So, we’re putting a lot of effort and energy into the migration of getting people from here to here, and getting them in both places.

Because I also think that it’s also scary, cause it’s all on FaceBook, all on Messenger. If Zuckerberg wakes up one day and decides he hates marketers, it’s gone. So, I’m not saying get rid of email, but I’m saying use them both together, And there’s power in that. – [Tai] The more platforms you’re on, the safer it is. What can an affiliate either to be an affiliate to ClickFunnels, or to any product, how are they–

– Let’s do it for him. How many of you guys wanna be an affiliate and make Tai Lopez more money and make you guys money in the interim? Do you guys have an affiliate program for like– – (squealing) That was from my Pee Wee Herman adventure. – Does Mentor Box have an affiliate program? – Mentor Box does, and so does tailopez.com – [Russell] Okay, so this is what I’d do. This goes back to what I talked about earlier. So, I would go to YouTube, and I would find all the coolest Tai Lopez videos you can find. There’s a bunch of them, right? Find the ones that meant the most to you, and probably theme them out.

So here’s all Tai’s thoughts on cryptocurrency, Or all Tai’s thoughts on whatever. Find the videos, and then make a page that says I’m gonna give you the top ten Tai Lopez videos about cryptocurrencies. Put your email address in here, and I will email you the top ten videos I found. They’re amazing. You’re gonna learn about this, this, all this stuff, right? And that’s step one. So, number two then– – So, you get their email address. – I go to FaceBook yet, and I target Tai’s audiences and my audience, and entrepreneur audience, and Mark Cuban’s audiences, and Tony Robbins’ audience, and I say, come to this page, and I’m gonna give you Tai Lopez’s 10 best videos on this topic, and you spend a little bit of money. People come, they opt in, and then you start building email lists, and as some come in you email them. Here’s the links to the 10 videos.

And then, by the way, did you know that Tai, every single month, curates, him and his partner curate the best books they find, and this really cool thing called Mentor Box. If you click on this link, you can get an account to Mentor Box, and not only are you gonna get all these videos, now you’re gonna get all their books, their best books, every single month, blah, blah, blah. And now they’re affiliates for you, and they’ve got a really unique offer that can go out there. The reason why affiliates lose, is because they’ll go, and they’re like, sign up for your affiliate program.

They’ll get their affiliate link from Mentor Box, and the same link that everybody else on earth is sending, same thing that you’re promoting, same thing everyone’s promoting, and they can’t be profitable, ’cause they’re nothing unique about what they’re doing. – [Tai] Yeah, you gotta make some content. – [Russell] So you take, and what’s nice about it I tell my people, I’m like, go to my channels. I have so much stuff I put out every single day. Find the stuff you like the most. Package it. Give away at an opt in, and then you build a list. And then sell my stuff. And we all win. – So, let’s talk about this for a second. Content.

A lot of people are scared of creating a video. They don’t wanna put their face on there. What do you say to somebody who has a false belief that they can’t create something, some cool videos, cause they’re introverted or they’re nervous, or what do you say? – Probably two things, and then we can go both directions. One is like, even if you’re introverted you can do like, I’m actually super introverted. If you ask my friends at home, every time they see a Facebook Live, they’re like you talk a lot on the camera, you don’t talk in real life. I’m super introverted. You can still do it. That’s number one, don’t be afraid.

Second thing, maybe you really are in a super huge fear. I look at my company. I got some amazing people who work with me, and partners and founders and stuff, and they’re not on video all the time. But I am, so it’s like if you can’t be that person, Find the partner who’s like they wanna do that thing. They wanna be the person in there. And make that the partnership, and that can work as well. – Partner. – Todd Dickerson that coded ClickFunnels, he wouldn’t have ever wanted to be on camera talking about ClickFunnels all day. And that’s like, I can’t code, but I can do that, so we found each other, and made it work.

Most cases introverts and extroverts are the best match. So, if you’re looking for a business partnership, maybe you can partner up. If you look at Warren Buffett is extroverted. He likes to crack jokes. If you go to the Berkshire Hathaway meeting, he’s funny. And then Charlie Munger, he’ll turn to Charlie Munger, who’s an introvert and be like, Charlie, what’s your opinion? And he’ll go, I have nothing to add. Your business partner is an introvert. My business partner, Alex, is visiting, and guess where he has been all day. Locked in a guest room in my house. He’s like, I’m working on something. No one bother me with humans.

But it’s a good partnership. Let’s talk about copy writing, somebody’s asking. How can people make their website the words matter, like it needs to say something awesome. – [Russell] We created a software that helps that, because the copy writing is the hardest part. All you need is to build a page, and it make look really pretty, look nice, but people come and like the words aren’t right. – Yes. – No one’s gonna buy. That’s what it all comes down to. Like the funnel doesn’t matter without the right words, the copy that converts people to buying.

I have a partner named Jim Edwards. He went through all marketing advertisements for the last hundred plus years, and he found all the best converting headlines from all the way back from the beginning of copy writing, like Gene Schwartz, and Gary Halbert, all these people, and combined all these things, put it into software, basically you could type in your product name, and it’s like, I sell this, this is what would benefit, this is what the features you talk about, you fill in some blanks, you click a button, and it pops out like 800 headlines. – Really? – Based on the best headline templates in the world.

And you just copy– – Where do you get this? – It’s called Funnel Scripts. – [Tai] Funnelscripts.com – I have a bunch of friends who are high paid copy writers, who charge anywhere from 15 to $25,000 a letter. And they used to go and they’d give their client a huge client questionnaire, and they fill the whole thing, and they go and spend the next six weeks writing copy. Now, they use a take client questionnaire. They fill it in Funnel Scripts. They click the button, and it pops out the copy, and then they tweak it a little bit, and they send it to the client, and charge the same fees. It’s legitimately crazy – If you don’t know how to write, here’s the thing.

It’s a catch 22. If you don’t know how to write, most people don’t know how to write. You’re not going to make a lot of money. One of the best things they should have taught us in school is copy writing, how to be persuasive. So, what’s some copy writing simple thing? There’s my simple thing. A lot of you guys need to fix your website. If you’re physical location, put the hours. Put the buy button high. I remember one time I couldn’t buy something. It was a website. I wanted to buy something. I searched. I actually sent it to my assistant.

Can you find how to buy? I honestly think they– – I wanna give you money. – No, I think they forgot to put the buy button up. It was like long, and they had written in. And they forgot the buy. So, my technique is keep it simple, stupid. Find out what people want on your website. Hit them with power words. The most powerful word in the English language, they say, according to Frank Lutz, he’s a famous political consultant, he says the word imagine is a power word. Imagine if you lost 50 pounds in the next 50 days. Imagine, you know, people like to, especially in America. So, that’s my quick hack.

What’s a hack for you to be, simple things, besides using this website? – My favorite headline in the world, works for almost everything is how to blank without blank. So, it’s how to, and then you insert the thing they desire the most, without the thing that causes them the most pain. So, for example, I could be like, how to read all these books, without actually ever reading a book. And then I’d give you money, because I wanted to watch the videos and get the whole download, right? – Yep. – ‘Cause like, every market I always start with that.

Okay, what do people actually want? So, how to, and then insert what they desire the most, without the thing that they’re most scared of. – Alright, I have a course where I’ve taught over 20,000 people how to build a social media marketing agency. – [Tai] So, they’re offering social media to end clients. – To businesses, they go around to businesses. They charge one to $10,000 a month. How do they get customers using your techniques. – So, if I was going to a business owner, and I was like what do they desire most?

They want customers coming in their place. So how to get– – Let’s say doctors and dentists. – Okay. – Or restaurants. – Okay. Let’s use dentists then. So, how to get cash paying clients to come into your clinic. They call them clinics? – Dentist office, dentist office. – Without having to, or how to get yeah, how to get cash, whatever, whatever their thing is, right? – Paying. – Paying dental clients. I don’t think most dentists want to sit there on social media, so without spending time on Twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat. –

Okay. – Cause they wanna fix people’s teeth. They don’t wanna be doing these things, right? – Yes. – If you have a social media marketing agency, you make a ClickFunnel landing page. The landing page at the top says, how to get, so if it’s a dentist, how to get 17 new dental clients this year from social media. And then you put without having to ever login to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. – [Russell] That’s a great headline actually. – You like that? – Right there. – You should use that, if you don’t use it, then you hate money.

That’s the only reason. – You hate money. I gotta use that line on people. So they build it on ClickFunnels. They get the headlines up. How would you get dentists to start going to see this page? – I would go to Facebook and target dentists. Pretty easy. That’d be the first spot. The next thing, I know a little about the dental market. If I was going after dentists, I would go to dentaltown.com Dentaltown.com has an email list of like 80,000 dentists you can rent for like five grand. – Really. – I’d buy an ad. I’d pound it out, and I’d have a bunch of clients overnight. – So, you can basically rent email lists. They call it email drops.

You can do an email drop to 80,000 dentists. And you have– – Most industries have those kind of things. I just happen to know dentaltown.com does it for dentists. But most of them have those type of things where people have aggregated the industry, and you can rent ads to go out in the email box. – Thanks so much for being here. – Hey everyone, this is Russell Bronson again. Welcome back to video number four out of five of my interview with Tai Lopez. I’m not sure if you’ve been watching this, but I counted on my fingers how many times we caught Tai picking his nose during the interview, it was super awkward. I’m just kidding, I don’t know how we caught that screen capture, but it’s pretty good.

And I know a lot of people get really nervous when we talk about selling, and how do I do it. And some people who are good at selling, they’re good at selling one-on-one, face-to-face, right? But for people like me who are super introverted, I don’t feel comfortable going to somebody and asking them for money. It feels so awkward and so weird and I hate it. So I had to learn how to sell the one to many, to the masses, doing it through webinars and teleseminars and through funnels and things like that.

And we’re gonna talk about how that actually works, because, that way, you can make money sitting behind your phone, sitting at your computer desk, without ever actually talking to a human, ever. Which, for introverts like me, is really, really nice. So, that’s what we’re gonna be talking about during this step of the interview. Jump right in and I will see you guys at the end of the video to talk about what’s going to be happening on the exciting conclusion of this amazing interview.

– Let’s jump to the most advanced technique, – Advanced. – number five. – Alright, okay. So with this one, you asked me when we were eating dinner over here, you said, how big’s your sales team? So my sales team is one person, that we use to build our team, and it’s me, I’m the only salesperson. So I didn’t build a whole sales team with thousands of sales people like a lot of big software companies do. So I had to figure out how do I sell to the masses, where it’s just me, speaking to a whole bunch of people, closing a hundred or a thousand or five thousand people at a time.

Selling one-on-one’s different, right. ‘Cause I’m selling one-on-one I have a chance to talk to you and you have a concern, I respond, we go back and forth. And so there’s a lot of good sales people that sell one-on-one. But to sell the masses, I have to be able to hit all the big problems at once, and be able to try to resolve everyone’s concern without actually resolving anyone’s concerns individually. And so, it’s a big part of this whole book I teach, but, this is the advanced strategy I want you to understand, is that, to be able to sell to the masses, to be able to convert ten or a hundred or a thousand people all at once, you have to become very, very good at understanding what people’s false beliefs are. So people have these false beliefs that keep them from buying.

Clickfunnels™ Selling To Masses – Break people’s false beliefs

There’s a reason why people aren’t gonna pick up the book and read, there’s some false belief like I’m not an expert, I don’t believe they’re– they all have something, right? There’s a reason why people aren’t signing up for MentorBox, they’re not going to an event, or whatever that thing is. They have these false beliefs that hold them back, right? And so, our job as marketers, is we have to figure out what’s the false belief that they have, and typically what happens is that most of us have that same false belief some time in our life. So what we have to do, we have to remember what was the, what happened in my life, why did I not believe that anymore? There’s a reason why I don’t do that anymore, what’s the reason, what’s the story behind it.

And we have to go back in time to remember okay, I don’t believe that anymore because of this thing, and then, when I’m speaking masses, I tell stories in a way to help break people’s false beliefs. So, for example, probably the easiest one to map this out, and I’m not into network marketing, but, it’s a really good example of this, right. So let’s say I wanted to sign up, let’s say I’m in a room and I’ve got 50 people and I want them to sign up for a network marketing program. So I’m thinking, what is the false belief most these people probably have? Like the false belief is that, if I join this company, all my friends and my family are going to leave me, right? That’s a belief that a lot of people have, okay.

So I think like, well why do that have that belief, why do they believe that if they join the company they’re gonna lose their friends and family? And I’m like, okay, well, it’s probably because one time in the past one of two things happened. Number one is that they got into a company, they got all excited they started calling their friends and their family, and they had a horrible experience, and all the people hated them. Or, number two, is they were on the receiving end of that, and they got a call from their brother, pitching them, and wouldn’t leave them alone.

And it’s because of that they’re like, if I get involved in this company I’m gonna have these people that just hate me, right? I was talking to someone that’s big in network marketing, one of the guys in our community, and, he told me the whole story– ’cause I asked him, I’m like, so that’s your audience’s false belief, why don’t you believe that? And he’s like, well I did believe that, for a long time. I was like he had the same false beliefs, so tell me why that’s no longer true. And he said well, I joined a program, I had a really bad experience, and lost my friends and all these people would stop returning my calls, so I left.

And a little while later, I had a friend, and he told me that you could generate leads online, of people that actually were interested. He’s like I put up the ads, and they raised their hand, and then they would fill out a form, then I would call them. And he said everyone I called was excited to hear from me, because they just asked me to call them, and then they sign up. He was like, I didn’t talk to a single friend or family member, ever. And so it’s like, that’s your story. Tell that story to this audience and this false belief that they’re holding onto with all their might, all of a sudden your story will shatter that false belief and then they’ll buy. –

Clickfunnels™ Selling To Masses – Figure out what are the false beliefs of the audience

Yeah. – And so for me, when we started with Clickfunnels, and I was trying to figure out how do I sell to the masses, I had to figure out what are the false beliefs of my audience. And I figured out those false beliefs, and then we put them in a presentation. – What was the main false belief? – There’s always three false beliefs that people have. The first one is false belief about the thing that you’re trying to get them into, so for me it’s funnels. So like, they’re like oh, I could use Shopify, or I could get Amazon, or I can–

That’s their false belief that they can do it a better way or some other way. So I had to break that false belief. The second false belief people always have is their internal ability to do it. Like, that’s cool, but I dunno if I, I’m not techie, and I can’t do that. So you got to break the internal belief. And then there’s always the, the third belief’s an external belief. Which, in my business, is like well, so, in my first one I convince them they need a funnel, number two is I convince them they can do it, ’cause it’s really simple, I show them Clickfunnels, like, oh, I’m an idiot, I can do it. And the third one they always freak out is well, if I don’t have a funnel I don’t know how to get people to show up. So I show ’em traffic, go oh here’s how you get traffic, and they’re like, oh my gosh. Now all their false beliefs are gone, they have to give me money, they have to sign up. And that’s like the big secret to mass selling.

That’s, the whole concept of this book is that. Like how do I sell to the masses, like how do you do it. And it’s understanding your audience’s false beliefs about the thing you’re trying to sell them, their internal ability to do the thing you’re trying to sell them, and then the external fear they have that could be like, that they could blame on, like I can’t do it because my wife won’t let me, or because I don’t have traffic, or whatever that external thing is. – And you think that’s the same in anything you’ve sold? – Everything I’ve done. – I had Wolf of Wall Street here. – Okay. – Jordan Belfort. And he kind of has a similar framework of you’ve got to number one, convince ’em that you are to be trusted, as a human.

Number two, he said you have to convince them that the company that you work for is to be trusted. And the third thing, you have to convince them that your product’s to be trusted. That’s kind of like what you’re saying. Number one, you had to convince them that Clickfunnels has things that Amazon and Shopify don’t have. Number two, you had to convince them that they could trust you that it would be simple, almost they had to trust themselves. And then the third one was the external one. You had to, that they had to learn to trust you, that they could get customers. – So let’s talk about LadyBoss.

Clickfunnels™ Selling To Masses – Telling Story is one of successful marketing strategy

LadyBoss is some of our best success stories. They were doing webinars, they were doing Facebook lives, I wish I could share their numbers, they are doing insane numbers. – Making more than a hundred dollars a year? – Yeah. – A little better. Good, success story number one. – So they’re external is like, okay, I had to convince you that you need to follow our weight loss plan, right? This is why, I come back to her, and it’s like, why do you believe this is the right product? There’s a reason why you started this company, like, tell that story. And then, it’s like you tried other things before you came into this, like, tell the story about all the stuff you tried and why this worked. And it knocks down that false belief, and it’s like now, you didn’t lose weight the very first time you tried, what were your fears, what kept you from doing it personally, and how did you break that? Tell that story.

So you tell that story and all of a sudden the next one falls down. And it’s like, now what are the external things you were blaming it on, like I can’t do it because of why? Tell that story of why you don’t believe that anymore, and those things fall down, they have to follow you. If they don’t, then they’re lying to themselves. – Yeah. – And that’s– – So the advanced technique is really, in some ways, you gotta be a master of psychology. It’s not really marketing. Marketing is, you could take the M from marketing and it’s Mass Psychology. You know, that M stands for the mass. And the marketing is just a superfluous word. It’s really mass psychology, and one of the things you’re saying is, people follow stuff when they trust it. – Welcome back, I hope you enjoyed episode number four out of five of the interview series. Now during part three, we talked about how does a brand new beginner, a newbie, someone who’s never done this before, how do they actually get started. And I’m going to share some really cool startup stories of people who are just like you, who found out what we were doing, and because of that, they changed everything.

I mean they are a neophyte, they got one dollar in their bank account, they’ve never built a website. How do they get started? You’ve got the book that teaches it.

Sell flashlights? He got a customer sell 20 million in flashlights in two months. – Insane. The best way, and what’s fun, is you guys are all watching this process. You practice this every single day. I practice this every single day. The biggest thing is to get your phone out, and start documenting your process. What ever it is you want to do. Every single day. In this book, there’s a quote form Garrett White, I was speaking at his event today. In the book, he talked about most people are scared, because when they get started, they’re like they start this thing, I’m not going to be good at it, I’m going to suck.

And the reality is when you first start you’re going to suck. But, the whole key is that if you keep doing it, you’ll suck less and less, and eventually you’ll actually become good. And so my guess, if you went back to the Snapchat’s of yours, five years, four, when did you start this whole game? – I mean I dabbled in 2012-13- – You were pretty good in the very beginning- – 2015 – You’re very first video in the garage was amazing, so- – That wasn’t my first one though. – See that’s great to know for everybody. –

My first one didn’t do as well. – How many did you have to do before one hit? – I mean I really started in 2013, and the big hit was in 2015. – Okay. Two years. This is amazing. This is important because you guys are like this is Tai Lopez, the big mansion, and everything’s happening. A million people are listening. But it didn’t start initially, right? – No. – So one of the guys in here, that I’ve worked really close with, his name is Anthony DiClementi he’s got a site called the BiohackersGuide.com. And he wrote this book. And he wanted to get this message out. And he was trying to buy ads and stuff, and nothing’s working. It’s like what should I do? Get your phone out, and every single day I want you to make one video showing some weird biohack, and at the end of it, tell people to go buy your book.

And he was like, okay. And he was like, what should I do? Just do any weird thing you want. So he starts picking a biohack every single day. One day it was, he put on these lasers on his nose and his ears, and he talked about the biohack- – Sharks with lasers on their heads. – Laser beams. And nobody watched the video. And he posted on his fan page, and like two people, his mom and me were it. Nobody listened to it, and he was like this isn’t working And I was like, it doesn’t matter you’re learning your voice.

Do it again. So next thing he did another one. And he did another one. and he did it every day for probably 11 or 12 days, and that day, that eleventh, twelfth day, he was kind of bored, he was like, I’m going to make a video called how to biohack your vegetables. And I remember watching it go live, and I was like dude you wasted a day. There’s no lasers, no weird things. There’s no freezing tanks. Your biohack, he was like, put butter in your vegetables and that’s how you biohack it. He does this little video, and we put like $10 of ads behind it, and for some reason, that one hit. In a week, it has 1.5 million views, sells 2000 copies of his book, and he’s off to the races. And after he kept making more videos, and more videos.

He didn’t know that was the message that the market wanted. We had no idea. He just kept doing it, and doing it, until it worked. So if you guys are just getting started, get your phone out, every single day do a Facebook Live, or whatever your thing is you’re going to do. Pick a product you want to sell. It could be yours. It could be Tai’s. It could be mine. You don’t even have to have your own product nowadays. – You could be an affiliate. There are so many things you can be passionate about. Become an affiliate of MentorBox. Every time you get your box, do a video talking about it. Showing what’s inside of it.

Why you’re so excited. And just keep doing that consistently. Put $5 or $10 in ads behind it, and most of the time your messages aren’t going to hit, but every once in a while, if you do it right, the message will hit with your audience, and all of a sudden, you become an overnight success. And that’s the key. Like you were two years and all of a sudden. That was the first video that just blew up. – Yup. And went crazy. I tell people. People forget. There are very few things in this world that you do more than once that you get worse at.

So you just gotta start. You get better with progress. Meaning, put one foot in front, you shoot one target. You build one website. People are always like Tai, how can I be sure my first business is my best business? I’m like, what’s wrong with you? Why would you want your first business to be your best one? That means you have the inability to learn and get better. That means you’re basically some Benjamin Button idiot that you get stupider. You don’t get stupider, you get more experience. – All right.

– Hey my name is Russell Brunson. I want to welcome you to my channel. I’m so excited to have you here. But today I’m gonna be talking about a five-part video series I’m doing right now. It was actually an interview I did with this man right here. Grrr, his head got really big. Tai Lopez and I was actually in California.

This was a couple of months ago. I was out in California and I actually messaged Tai and he said hey come on over to the Tai mansion, hanging out and we’ll do an interview. So I got there super late it was like 11:30 at night and I was like there’s no way we’re doing this interview.

And sure enough we showed up. He fed me and then about one o’clock in the morning. If you’ve every been to Tai’s house or seen it he broke out like 400 cameras. He had cell phones galore for Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, networks I’ve never even heard of and we did this interview and it turned out really, really cool and I wanted to share it with you.

So the very first part of this interview Tai’s asking about how we built ClickFunnels™ from zero to 100 million dollars and the first thing we talked about is how you actually build a movement. I talked about the movements that ClickFunnels™ has built. We talked about some of our success stories. Like LadyBoss and the movement they’ve created and a whole bunch of other stuff.

With that said let’s jump into part one of this interview series with me and Tai Lopez. (stormy thunder) – Russell, take me back three years ago you decide to launch this company, called ClickFunnels™. Are you now number one competitor with Shopify? – I think so, I don’t know anyone else that’s come close, so I’m pretty sure. – And you did this, you have five kids, you live in Idaho, for all of you to live in smaller markets. – It still works. – So what was the feeling to go from zero and three years later doing one hundred million bucks here. – That was never the goal. I mean the goal is like try to do whatever.

But it’s funny because about four years ago when we had the idea and we were like can we do this. Like a lot of people have tried it before. I even tried it before. Luckily I had a co-founder in Todd Dickerson who was technically able to build it. And he spent about a year building it and then it came back and it was just amazing. And so I’m like all right let’s sell this.

That’s my job to be the guy selling it and talking about it and trying to build the excitement behind it. It’s crazy cause it took off. At first it was kind of slow it took a while to figure out how to sell and how to get people excited about it. And then when it started working and then triggering success stories, people having success with it and more it started growing and growing and the last three years has been nuts. –

So, let’s go through this. Marketing, cause a lot of people are listening in are people who have an idea and they want to grow it. One of your secrets is not just selling a product but creating a movement. – [Russell] Yeah. – Tell me about that. Cause that’s really your number one. I asked you the number one thing you think is responsible for growth and those of you listening should emulate. You’ve written this book called Expert Secrets. You’ve got Robert Kiyosaki on the front cover recommending it and the Underground Playbook Defines your Message, Build A Tribe, and Change the World.

So why do people need to build a tribe? How do you do it? – [Russell] The market we’re going into there’s a lot of competitors, right? And all of them are like, there brands but there kind of nameless faces. There’s brands trying to do this thing right. And I remember about that time I went to a network marketing thing cause I had some friends and I wanted to see how these guys do their stuff. I show up in this room and there’s like four or five thousand people in this room and everyone’s going on stage and they’re crying and I was so confused. I’m like this is a software company, why are people crying. – (laughs) –

And person after person for two or three days and I’m so confused and finally I look over to one of my buddies and he said to me he said you know what they’re doing here? I was like I’ve got no idea but everyone’s crying, I’m confused. And he said they didn’t build a software company they created a movement. That’s why people are here. That’s why they’re coming. – So he’s saying they built a movement before they even branded this concept. –

Yeah as they were doing it. We were launching ClickFunnels™ and I was like if we’re just a software company like everybody else then we’re a commodity, right? If you’re a commodity then it’s like everyone is fighting for the lowest price and eventually you price yourself out and that’s how a lot of businesses happen. I was like we need to build something bigger where people are a part of this movement and they’re part of our tribe and they belong to this thing. And so about that time we were launching ClickFunnels™ and again at first it didn’t take off like I thought it was. I remember about two or three months into it I did a presentation about a concept we call Funnel Hacking which is like could we find somebody else as a funnel, you look at it and then you model it inside of ClickFunnels™. Our people started calling themselves funnelhackers.

I was like okay hey we’re funnelhackers. We started making T-shirts and everyone who signed up for our software make them watch a 10-minute video showing them how to use ClickFunnels™ and we mail them a T-shirt that says funnelhacker. Almost every week since we’ve launched ClickFunnels™ there’s been some the next ClickFunnels™ killer is coming out. I got emails from everyone forwarded and they’re like the competitor’s coming out. And so far I think there’s about thirty something that have come out and all of them have kind of fallen by the wayside and didn’t do much. –

You think that’s cause they weren’t movements like yours? – Yeah, well I asked some of my members how come you guys don’t try their software? Why aren’t you switching over? And they said because we’re part of this is like, this is not your company Russell. This is us, we’re funnelhackers, ClickFunnels™ are our tool, this is who we are. One guy, I remember he told me, he’s like I look at the ad long enough on my Facebook feed just long enough to laugh and then I scroll on.

Because I know that I’m a funnelhacker and I’m part of this movement. And so it’s like everyone is gonna try to beat us on pricing and things like that and it’s like no we built a community. We built a tribe of people who have a belief they’re going somewhere, there’s a vision what they’re all trying to do and that has been so huge in propelling us. they also share it We get organically about a thousand people a day that are signing up for ClickFunnels™. – And these are paid customers by the way. 55,000 paid customers. – Not free ones like most software. – Your free email list, how big is it? –

Over a million. – Over a million. – We’ve probably had about five hundred thousand or so that have actually created an account but yeah, 55,000 that are actively paying. – Paying you and it cost between what? – Between $100 and $300 a month. – 100 and 300 and then you’ve got some upgrades people can do. So, it is interesting we’re talking about this cause I was just reading this, I like to read textbooks even though I didn’t go to college. This is how I do my version of college.

So I was reading this book on, it’s just a psychology, Dr. David Russ, it’s a psychology book. He’s actually coming here tomorrow. He’s one of the most interesting guys in the world. And he’s talking about the rise of gang membership around the world. And he said it completely tracked the breakdown of the old family unit tribe. Gangs started to get big let’s say, I mean there’s always been some form of gang, but people want to belong to something. So now if you can build a business, you see that with Lady Gaga. She called her fans wasn’t it like Little Monsters or something like that?

And Justin Bieber what do they call, beliebers. – (chuckle) So one our top success stories we’re talking about in the book a lot. She’s in the weight loss space and her maiden name was Tool. She was always like Tool Time trainer. It was tough because people didn’t self identify with that. – Right. – And so she heard this for the first time, she was at an event we did and on the flight home she was like I need to change this to something that my people will associate with. It was tough for her because her business at that point had been her name. And she’s like that’s not big enough for everybody else. And so on the flight home she was thinking about ideas and all of a sudden she had this idea.

She’s like I’m gonna rebrand it as LadyBoss Weight Loss. And my winners are gonna be LadyBosses. And they went home and deleted their whole business which was doing well, rebranded it, launched this thing called LadyBosses and if you look at here movement right now they have over a hundred thousand women who have purchased their program so they’re in this thing. They do these swag drops. – Swag drops. – She’s like I’ve got my LadyBoss swag and she’ll come in and she’ll reveal it and they’ll have, so for a short period of time, and I’m not allowed to share their numbers, but they will sell so much clothing in a finite period of time to all the LadyBosses. Cause they have these shirts that say I’m a LadyBoss and they have all these quotes that people self identify with. – Yeah. –

And when they took it from a brand like from their name to this thing that’s bigger like people can identify with. – I just want to reiterate, I’ve seen this over and over. Even what I do. Knowledge Society is one of the names of one of my companies. And it’s not even something I tried to brand. And I see my employees latching on to that because you can’t latch on to being Tai Lopez, that’s just one person. But being attached to Knowledge Society is like this higher purpose and if you look at Maslow’s hierarchy of needs there’s five levels of needs. Physiological is at the base foundation.

And you have number two you have safety. And then number three you have love and number four you have status and respect. But number five is self actualization or actualization to a higher purpose. And that’s where people find god and they find, like Mahatma Gandhi and his movement to gain independence for his country. Martin Luther King Junior, Abraham Lincoln. And so what you’re doing is you’re applying those same principles to a brand. And it took you from zero to a hundred million dollars a year. –

The thing about the big brands, the ones that have done a really good job in the last generation have done that. Look at Apple. – [Tai] Biggest company in the world, Apple. – [Russell] Apple self-identify with that. Like there’s Apple users and there’s everybody else. There’s that thing, you look at shoes, you look at clothing lines, the best brands have done that. For some reason most businesses, we don’t think think about that, it’s like well I sell this or I’m a financial planner or I’m in real estate. Those who start looking at a pattern. I’m a big pattern guy. You see a pattern it’s like okay, now that I know the pattern, how can I amplify that. So when we realize this is the pattern. In the book we’ll say how to create those movements.

But you understand the pattern it’s like okay how can I do this for my business and when I became aware of it then it’s like okay now that I know what it is I can amplify it. I know that these are the pieces of how to make this movement happen and like what are all the elements of a good movement and how to be the leader of that movement. And one of the things, when you understand it you can amplify it. – Yeah. – And most of them never know, they’re like I sell this thing. This is my business. – Tell us a little more. What did you build, was it just this hacker funnel kind of idea or funnel hacks or what did you identify with? –

You know I think the majority of our members they’re small entrepreneurs, they’re people who are still involved in their business. They’ve been marketing their business and they’re passionate about that. I was our customers like five or six years ago. I had ideas, things I wanted to get out but I didn’t know how to do that. I’m not a website designer or developer or anything. So I had to hire people and it was so slow and just frustrating.

So for me it was like when we made ClickFunnel I was able to as someone who is passionate about my product or my service I could just go and put it out there really, really fast. I was talking to your partner earlier about MentorBox and he was like back in the days I had a hundred developers here to build all of our software, our things. He’s like guess how many work for our company now?

Two and they log into ClickFunnels™ and they edit stuff. Like that’s all we do. So it gives people like us who are passionate about a product, or an idea, or whatever it gives us. I was hoping it makes entrepreneurs free to share their message, not get bogged down in all the tech stuff that keeps people from doing it. And so our people, our phone hackers.

day so woke up early then we got a massage was really nice then went to watch Justin Terra hey I saw Kevin Anderson just off that we edited this in a few days then when I find my slides done then went spoke the Warriors then the charity events to McClaren and raised twenty thousand bucks versus Cheerios in a hole then you throw it a title Lopez’s house then we did Facebook live that last two hours we had to 66,000 with me all the different fillings and lights and pmf anyway maybe this hotel checked in nine to twenty nine lights out born live right now with hustle and bustle is odd that the computer didn’t work so we based on switch to my laptop so hey just about ready to go let’s do stolen for us and hopefully yeah a man I’m doing amazing I apologize that I’m a little late my hotel room and my first computer networks we boot up on another computer but we made it were here and yay [Music] just arrived at Ty’s mansion here in Beverly Hills and getting ready for the shoot for hot gas I believe let’s see what’s gonna go on use your product every day okay yeah we run mental Vox pretty much on it yeah yeah good job on that I it has how much as metropox done because I would love to get a two comma Club plaque out of mentor box oh it’s like we are over a million a month now dude that’s Russell is doing an intro on intro or clicked on the easier course and then in more advanced ones up Clanton my breaking tweet hey professor Brunson and I’m here today with the cofounders of ClickFunnels™ and I’m gonna show you guys how simple how easy it is to actually build a phone inside [Music] [Applause] [Music] you know that it costs Jeff Bezos back in 1994 when he launched a me to build a website that going rate with programmers technology Volvos $100,000 to get a website now you’re saying well click funnels now I said spending 100 G’s which makes it basically not only impossible but you can’t test new idea click funnels let’s just move to number two so number two I want to throw this at you and get your opinion because number two for me would be the ability to test new concepts that’s such a good story on this let’s here I’m so excited ok so one of our members is actually right now person his process the most monies that I could follow you guys a game in turn work my game working to be yeah we got video but the guy right now I’m not the director times trade Llewellyn and what trade did is he came in click phones and I met him right afterwards he was like he was selling t-shirts at the time threw him a t-shirt sites and he’s like I’m use click phones I don’t know what my thing is if I’m gonna launch a funnel every single week to one of them works and I was first going to put out there he launches it and just like next one put out their launch in t shirts initially was t-shirts most I’ve had it okay and try a couple other things and some cents from marginal success and one thing he tried to sell his past were these flashlights he had literally huge quad core flashlights and one week that right which we build this week is like let’s blow the flashlights funnel and so they gotta flash that stuff took pictures of them and and his buddy they were joking and like we should call they survived with flashlights but this is like a cool new thing so they put like survival flashlights and they launched the survival flashlight it was like funnel like 8 or 9 in this in this thing right launches that flashlight funnel and in like a two-month period time there’s 20 million dollars selling these survival flash two months no idea is biggest funnel we ever I got my entire life like blew up and just went went crazy so people watching because I feel like people get stuck still people are still in the old old modality of business which is think that thing through right in an elaborate business plan to raise capital higher you know a team Dottie needed a lot by the time yeah one year later go broke [Music] all right so I’m here work on my slides and before I left Boise we had our tire package all done except for the fact the stickers didn’t show up this is the test drive today I’m doing over here so what will happen is when somebody gets excited they will come back to the back and we would give them an order form for fun of all their secrets and then they will fill the order form thereby giving some money and then we will hand them this right here they’ll say here’s what you actually bought open it up inside of here there’s gonna be some stuff a letter to the spouse and then this tells not access their purchase problem is what’s a big sticker that goes here and here and other stickers here at melody so the sticker showed up yesterday to Boise Melanie had to go over an item to our hotel room in a few hours or a few minutes ago knock on the door and check it out what we got sticker little Billy’s secret stickers so now we just have 150 packets – only 300 stickers and unfortunate ease ones actually have to be on straight this can be a little crooked but he’s got a straight I hope you’re waking up – these are crooked roads everything [Music] you do not put even though this is a long sticker and you would think you would go from the top of the bottom it’ll ruin it and get wrinkles every time so it’s a sideways sticker that we basically try to line up and hopefully oh of course I’m on film this one’s gonna be off center no take it off a ball abort abort guess is you’re with me George Clooney he’s here this is Sean Roche all the best presenters I’ve ever seen my life here helping me and we are getting ready cool is that well you should take us about two or three months to build with team of seven or eight guys we do now in about power without any tech people I do myself yeah and that’s kind of flip phones is and it’s been it’s been crazy last few years we have now 55,000 and active arms using it all around the world and it’s [Music] all right so here we are heading out and who gets stopped at TSA for having rhino rush in his bag yes that’d be Russell not me so he’s sitting over there now to put away his stuff yeah I’m just waiting anyway it’s been a crazy crazy trip and we’re about ready there’s exciting this I’ll be the first non warrior to ever speak on the stage it’s gonna keep on going so this week’s been our art Miller get a script for flying live process bar stands for big and rip transformation and San David in the last three days and how do you feel I’m so sore 47 wheels yeah I can’t even like move barely it hurts so bad and rest on a plane at all time let’s go 300 hundred grams of protein a day anyway that’s the plan [Music] so I’m sitting here a warrior event the word just had their party outside and since we’re working my slides I don’t want to smoke we order room service hate that and Dave’s over here working I’m like scrolling through Facebook and worrying about Bitcoin bitcoin is going up and down every second I’m stressing out and then you say what have you just don’t use fides no get massage right now Mike I do that yeah this is calling it out so they don’t know is that Dave and I started the bar big and rip transformation workout which means we’re me being written before unlocking live which sounds really nice when you like sign up for it till you start doing it like look at my own right now that’s all I got and the most frustrating thing for me you can so I always to early on the bio hacker dudes over here and I got the bodybuilding guys over here so the bio hackers are like eat egg yolks but get rid of the whites they’re anti-nutrients they’re go okay see like you know the white throw at you do and then the bodybuilders like yolks all the fat get rid of yolk and just the egg whites like okay so I’m all confused and then you got five actors like don’t eat grades don’t eat oatmeal okay well not eat grains on me like drink butter am i okay i’m drinking butter it over here they’re like eat oatmeal every single day stop eating butter yeah good but so confusing it’s just I don’t you know what to do is about happy right now I’m a bodybuilder right so David Stern went down to the spot cuz knows answer you know I’m talking because I can’t I got them out and they’re gonna give some Seuss’s here how long do you want what kind of just touch they’re calling excuses right Oh Davis is the best person it just kidding crap done that I’ve ever met in my whole life I mostly like B I tried to call him I would answer so hung up Dave’s like screw that I went down to like woke them up had them call masseuses brief especially for us I love Dave everyone you guys need your own Dave otherwise I don’t I get stuff done what’s up everybody I’m about to run in here to our daily stand-up meeting it get the progress update on all the school nurse stuff we’re working on what’s up everybody it’s stand up time this is custom a custom to Mesa serve up the images not clothes not common global assets and this is something Ryan instead of the structure where previously with proxy and things there engine X and evening it on the customer base anyway this as a separation layer and lets people basically white label dirt and adjust oh so now we’ll be testing this it’s ready to go moving it on makes it live I just want to make sure we’ve been marketing overall it was just in case the requests QA or something selling something gather an info nurturing people doing Membership recurring stuff and then come down here we’re gonna click our different sequences we’re gonna say oh look I want the Epiphany bridge secrets sequence from Russell Brunson and here’s the sequence here’s what it looks like choose it and we’re gonna click it and you’re gonna have the entire campaign how awesome is that it’s amazing
