It all starts when John Parkes issued a “hook” challenge in the bullpen. The premise of the challenge was that everyone had the same pictures and ad content for Russell Brunson’s Dotcom Secrets book, except each person was responsible for changing the hook at the top. The goal was to see who could “hook” the most customers with the best copy.

Meanwhile, Russell had a clickfunnel’s affiliate challenge in which the top ten sellers got a prize of brass balls. The story behind these balls goes back to Russell’s mentor, Dan Kennedy. However, Both Dave Woodward and Russell have their own funny stories behind these legendary brass balls.

You don’t need to go on Shark Tank to get your idea heard. To be able to reach the decision maker you need to know how to get past the “gatekeeper”. The gatekeeper is the person that stands in front of or around the “decision maker”. This person could be a spouse, a business partner, an assistant or a secretary. The trick to knowing how to get a meeting with anyone is by showing respect to the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper has influence over the decision maker and you have a better chance of seeing the decision maker if you show them honor.

We all want our ideas to get heard, but you have to think in terms of serving. How can you serve the community you want to be a part of and how can you serve the person I hope to gain support from. Trust us, showing the gatekeeper support will take you much further than ignoring them.

One of the big takeaways Sean gave us during Funnel Hacking Live is that you can only help the people that are swimming towards you. In the next video we shot, we promoted a product called Wakeshake. Initially, we were through some of the key video production for this product but felt it was lacking.
