(smooth guitar music) – [Russell] Good morning everybody, this is Russell Brunson. Today I’m streaming from a little cabin in the middle of nowhere. These last few days I’ve been on a top secret retreat with a whole bunch of amazing business owners, and it’s been cool, it’s been interesting.

I’m about to jump on a helicopter with this guy. – Let’s go baby! – [Russell] Are you flyin’ it? – I’m flyin’. (laughs) – [Russell] Are you flyin’? – Yeah, I’m flyin’. – [Russell] How many of these do you own at this point? – Helicopters? – [Russell] Yeah. – I want a helicopter. (laughing) – I’m slackin’ Russell. – Oh man. – [Russell] It’s interesting what you learn about yourself because I know I’m introverted by nature and I just assume that at this point in my life that I’m not.

Especially around a group of people that are in my same world. I’m like, “Oh, this is gonna be so much fun.” I don’t know, it was tough for me a lot of times. Introverted Russell kept popping out and it was knowing that about myself, I was like, “Why do I feel so awkward “in so many situations that don’t make sense?” So for any of you guys who feel that sometimes and you don’t understand.

You’re like, “Why do I feel awkward here? “Why do I not feel comfortable?” It still happens, even to me, even among my peer group where it’s just tough sometimes. But we proudly got through it and made some great relationships which was cool. (upbeat guitar music) We went fly fishing and then we went hiking, then we went and shot guns.

Yesterday we went to go fly fishing. It’s funny, we go down there and they get me all set up and teach me how to do the casting, which that part is kind of cool, you try to figure it out. It was interesting because I’m noticing that there’s this hook, I’ll get my pole and throw it in, then pull it out, throw it in, pull it out, throw it out, pull. And doing this over and over and over I was looking at it and I was like, “This is so much like business, right?” You guys have heard me talk about the whole hook story offer framework which is like the foundation of everything we’re teaching nowadays.

You have to create an irresistible offer then you’ve gotta have a story that amplifies the value of that offer, and then you have to have a hook that stops ’em and grabs ’em right? In our world now everyone’s so busy through social media. There’s a million things happening every second. How do you grab someone? If our hook doesn’t convince the fish that it’s a worm or a bug or whatever, they’re not gonna come and bite the line, right? I think a lot of times some of us are trying this business, putting out your first thing and nobody bites.

Then you’re like, “The thing doesn’t work, “it isn’t working.” It’s like, “No, your hook didn’t work, right?” You gotta keep throwing hook in after hook after hook after hook. Half of what I do in this business is figuring out hooks to grab people. Every email I send is a hook.  Every Facebook live is a hook.

Trying all these different hooks to see which things people respond to. But it’s interesting because even to me, tons of my hooks fail, and tons of the different messages I put out there do not resonate with people, they don’t do anything with them. It’s really fascinating. The good news is nobody knows when I fail because nobody sees them because we don’t put much advertising dollars behind it ’cause the first hook didn’t catch any fish, right? The same thing for you.

You’ve gotta cast out all these different messages and headlines and hooks and things until you find something that somebody grabs onto. (peaceful orchestral music) Hey Brendon, where are we en route right now? – We are jumping in helicopters and we’re going to a lake. – Secretly. – A secret lake in Jackson Hole for some kayaking. We’re helicoptering in, kayaking around, and then getting these guys on airplanes. – So this is an Illuminati meeting and he is the head of the, no just kidding. (laughing) I think it’s Walker. Who’s the head of this organization anyway?

They literally brought the helicopter directly to the place we’re staying at. (lively rock music) – Alright, we’re here. We’re off to jump on those kayaks right there and they’re taking us into the river before we actually fly home in a few minutes. So that’s what’s happening. – You know something I’m just thankful for my father gave me a love of nature when I was young. So if you’re parents out there get your kids outside. So I went to bed last night, sent all those images we were doodling on my bed over here, sent all these awesome things to Vlad and woke up this morning and guess what’s done? Boom, three types of traffic.  Pretty awesome. So now we got all the presentations I need for the event today with Dana Derricks. I’m giving a new presentation I’ve never done before that is actually the framework for the new Traffic Secrets book. I have a two hour time slot so for two hours I’m gonna be teaching the framework for my book, and I’m gonna see what hits and what doesn’t. So excited to try it out and hopefully it resonates with people.

And to feel what works, what doesn’t work, cut things out, move things around, and then I’m gonna start writing the book. But notice what I’m doing right, I’m throwing hooks out on the side of the thing, just throwing hook, hook, hook, trying to see what things people resonate with, what things people are gravitating towards. Jay Abraham taught me this initially.

So look, if you’re trying to find two adventure partners, Dream 100, first you gotta figure out is where does your product, your service, fit in the timeline of your dream customer, and you gotta figure out what are all the services they need before they come to you and what are all the services they need after they come to you. (lively rock music) (clapping) So for you, I want you just thinking about that. If you’re writing your webinar page, you’re doing your thing, and you haven’t been throwing out hooks, you’re just guessing.

You’re gonna write the first version of your book and you’re gonna get it back and it may suck. It may be awesome, you may have landed the first time, but you gotta go out on the road and test your material, and you should do it through all these different means. Do it through podcast interviews. Test out your framework. Test out your concepts and see what lands and what doesn’t. And then do the same thing on Facebook live, do it on your own page, do it on other people’s page.

– [Russell Brunson] Hey, this is Russell Brunson and welcome to Webinar Funnel Secrets. Now, I wanna quickly show you how to use webinar funnels to run online events and to sell your products to the masses. And then, at the end of this video, I’m actually gonna give you my top converting webinar funnels for free. But before we do that, I wanna explain where webinar funnels came from, how they work, and how you can use them in your specific business. So, to show you initially, I wanna kinda walk you through the layout of what a webinar funnel looks like. Now, it’s a very simple process.

There’s a webinar registration page where you get somebody to register for the webinar, then there’s a confirmation page, where you thank them for being registered to the webinar. And with the webinar funnel, typically you’re integrating with some third part webinar software, like GoToWebinar or Zoom are the two most popular within the Click Funnels community.

So then, the webinar actually happens over there on the other platform, but what’s nice is, because you can control the registration process and the confirmation process, you’re able to get higher conversions and a lot of times, sell other products and services before people even come to the webinar, as I’ll show you here in a minute.

And as somebody registers for the webinar, and before the webinar starts, what we do is we send them emails and take them to what we call indoctrination pages, where each of these pages gives them a video or some kind of training to get them more excited about what’s gonna be happening on the web class. And we’ll have anywhere from one to three confirmation pages, typically, in a normal webinar funnel. And then after the webinar’s over, then we usually set up a webinar replay page where we post the webinar replay and then we send emails to the people who registered for the webinar to go watch the replay before we take it down. And so, that’s kinda what a basic webinar funnel looks like.

Now, if we were to take this and plug in some actual pages, this is kinda what it would look like. First page, they register, then the confirmation page, here’s the indoctrination page as we send them videos, getting them excited about what’s happening, and then the replay page happens at the end. Okay, so the first question I wanna answer is where do webinars actually come from?

A lot of people have never even heard that word before they get into Click Funnels. And so, a webinar is basically like a web class. It’s like a seminar that’s happening on the internet. Now, in the past, the way that I used to sell a lot of products and services is that I would go to live events like this, I’d stand in front of 1000 or 10000 people and I would teach them something, and then at the end, I would sell my products or my services, and that’s how I made my living for almost a decade.

But then, fast forward to technology started catching up and making things easier, and now I do most of my business, I do it through webinars where I’m actually at my home or sitting here in my office, and there might be 1000, or 2000, 5000 people registered who are watching from all around the world, I do my same webinar presentation, I teach and I train them, and at the end of it, then I can sell them a product or a service. And so, that’s kinda what a webinar is is a live event, but it’s happening on the internet.

And what’s cool about it is that you can do these and make as much money as you would normally from the comfort of your home, as opposed to having to travel, and get hotels, and all sorts of things that go into a traditional live event, okay? Now, some examples of some webinar funnels. These are just some layouts of some of the ones we’ve done in the past, this one where Kaelin, the Lady Boss, talked about Click Funnels.

This is another one of our webinar registration pages, and here’s another one selling, these are all selling software, or trainings, or other things. Webinars have been used to sell pretty much everything on planet Earth, from supplements, training courses, to consulting, to coaching, webinars work good to sell almost any type of product you can think of. So here is how it works.

Okay, the first page, the first step here is to get them to register for the web class, okay? So that’s what the first page in the funnel does. Then the second page after they’ve registered for the web class, then you basically thank them for registering. Sometimes you may make them a special offer, and I’ll talk about that here in a minute. But basically you’re thanking them, and then the last page here inside this funnel is where you post the actual replay, so that’s kinda how a webinar funnel works. It’s very simple and very easy. Okay, so again, here’s the layout, and then there’s one more piece here to talk about, the indoctrination pages.

So, indoctrination pages, these are pages we create that, usually for me, they have videos, or I’m getting people excited about what’s happening in the training, and indoctrinating them, getting them excited. Some people call these presuasion pages, where you’re getting them excited before they actually show up to the web class. So, this is an example of what an indoctrination page may look like.

Now, a lot of people do webinars without these, it just helps to kinda increase show up rate, and it actually increases the people buying something at the end of the webinar because they’ve been indoctrinated from you through these videos here in the sequence, okay? So, what are the products and services that work for webinar funnels? Like I said, all sorts of things. You can use it to sell courses, to sell products, to sell software, I’ve seen people use it to sell supplements, high-end coaching, business practices, services.

Pretty much everything you can dream of can be sold on an actual webinar, okay? So, here’s some of the best practices on how webinar funnel works. So, the first page here, some of the core, most important things. First step, I like to call out, like, who is this webinar actually for? So, you notice in this one it says, “Attention: Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners, “Online Marketers, and Marketing Agencies,” so they know, like, this is who it’s for. The second step is like having a curiosity-based headline.

The more curiosity you have, the more like someone is to register, the more likely they are to actually show up. In fact, when I have a webinar page that’s not converting very well, the biggest thing I do is I come back and try to increase the curiosity to get people excited. Okay, so curiosity is the key on a registration page. The second page is where we thank them. Now, on the thank you page, we’re not using curiosity nearly as much as a couple other things. The first thing is, we’re thanking them for registering.

The second thing is, whereas the first page is all curiosity, the thank you page is all about excitement, getting them excited for what they’re about to experience. If you get them excited here, they’re more likely to make sure they show up, to put it on their calendar, to make sure they don’t sleep in or forget about it. The more excited you get them here, the more likely they are to show up and participate in the event that you’re putting on. And then the last thing, this isn’t necessary, but a lot of times, what I do on this page is I give them, I make them an offer. We call this a self-liquidating offer.

This is where we tell them, like, hey, in this example here I say, go get a free trial of Click Funnel. Sometimes I might sell a book, or I push ’em into one of my other funnels where I’m selling a lower ticket product. Now, a lot of times, this self-liquidating offer here will actually cover the entire cost of my advertising cost to get people to register for the web class.

Now, that’s kind of a more advanced thing and it’s not necessary, but I wanted to kinda put it out there for those of you guys who may wanna do something like that on your thank you pages. Now, the next page, obviously at this point, like we said before, is that that webinar now is gonna happen in some third party service like GoToWebinar or Zoom, and then after you get the recording of that presentation back, then you can create a replay page, and usually we’ll post that replay page up for 24 to 48 hours, we’ll send emails to everybody who registered and tell them now go watch this video before it disappears, and that gets people to actually go and watch and consume your presentation.

Okay, now, in the past, if you wanted to create a webinar funnel like that, it was complicated, right? You had to get designers, and then webmasters, and programmers, and analytics people, and a whole bunch more. But the good news is that now, because you’re here today here on Click Funnels, you no longer have to do that. We have a better way, we have a faster way. So, instead of doing all that, instead, what you can do is you can just use our share funnels. In fact, that’s step number two now, is to customize your template. So, I’m gonna log into Click Funnels real quick right now and show you how easy it is to actually customize any of these webinar pages. All right, now I’m on the exact same page you’re on, so I come right here, I can scroll around, I can look at all the different templates till I find the one that I like the best. So I’m gonna click on this one right now, I click on Select This Funnel button. Now it’s gonna take that entire funnel, it’s gonna copy it into my Click Funnels account, build all the pages, and have ’em all set up there so I can start working on it immediately.

Then I click right here on the View Funnel button. And that fast, you guys, this funnel’s ready for me to start building. On the left hand side here, you’ll see here’s all the different pages we talked about earlier, and so we can go through and edit all these pages and make ’em match my brand. For right now, I’m gonna edit just one to show you how simple and easy it is. I click on edit page. This is gonna take me inside the Click Funnels editor, and this is where the fun begins. I click right here, I pick a word, I can start typing things and editing that fast. Hey, how are you doing? I can go right here and let’s say I don’t like this image.

I can click on the settings, I can change the image for one of my own, I can upload it really quickly or just grab one from here, and boom, that fast, the page is changed. If I don’t like something, I can grab something, I can move it around, I can drag and drop things really easily, if I wanna change the colors, I can. But this is how easy Click Funnels is, you guys. You don’t have to be technical. If you can drag and drop, you can build a funnel here inside of Click Funnels. That’s how simple and how easy it is. When I’m done with that, I can click on the save button, and then I can preview it, and that fast, my funnel is live.

Do you see how simple and how easy this really is? Now, if for some reason I don’t like something, I can come back in here and same thing, I can come back, I can drag things around, I can move ’em around to my heart’s content until the funnel looks exactly the way I want it to, and when I’m done, I click exit and I am done. Okay, so that was step number two, how to customize it. Now, one thing you’ll notice is that each of these pages right here, all three of these three pages that I’m showing you, this is all based on the same template.

All it is is I changed the image, I changed the headline, I changed the color, and that quick, I can make each of these look and match the look and the feel of whatever your brand is. Okay, so the better you get at Click Funnels, the easier it is to customize these things and really make them amazing. Okay, and then the third step is you go out there and you actually launch your webinar funnel, which is the most exciting thing. The question is Russell, my sales funnel won’t convert, what are the common problems that prevent funnels you see from converting. Okay, I’m glad you asked this, ’cause this is like so much fun.

Alright so if you look at any funnel, right, there’s different pieces of it. So part of it’s figuring out which piece it is, right. So over here you have like the ad. So let’s say this is Facebook and you have the news feed and here’s your friend, there’s your mom, and then all of a sudden there’s the ad in the middle. And then there’s other stuff here, and the stuff here.

Then over here you’ve got a landing page. I’ll put L.P. And over here you have a sales page, S.P. And this is your funnel, which is like the most important work in marketing is sales funnel, okay. Alright, so then the question is, my sales funnel’s not converting, what are the common problems that prevent funnels you see from converting? It always comes down to one of three things.

Number one, it’s a problem with your hook, okay. So what’s the hook? The hook is the thing, like someone’s on your phone right here, and they’re scrolling through like crazy, right, looking at stories from their friends, and their mom, and their grandma, and al of a sudden they see your ad and they keep…

The hook is anything that gets them to stop they what was that. It stops them from scrolling, grabs them and like says I need your attention. Okay, so your hook. If your hook is horrible here, if nobody’s clicking your ad. Or the hook is horrible here if nobody’s giving you their email address. Or the hook is horrible here if nobody’s giving you money. So first problem’s always the hook problem.

Number two is a story problem, okay. After you grab somebody you have their attention for five seconds, then you tell them the story about why they should click on your ad, why they should give you their email address, why you should… It’s always the second step is the story, right. After you have their attention, you tell them story about why. Why are they clicking on this ad? Why are they giving you email? Why are they giving you money? Okay, that’s your story.

Now if you’ve read the Expert’s Secrets book, in Expert Secrets I show you guys through story structure. I talk about epiphany bridge stories and a whole bunch of other things like that. If you haven’t read this yet, go find the sections here on story, how to tell your story the right way. Okay, and then the third is your offer. If your funnel’s not converting, the third reason why not is ’cause your offer just sucks. That’s why people aren’t giving you money. That’s it, it’s pretty simple.

So if your offer sucks, make a better offer. If nobody’s clicking your ad, it means you’re not giving them enough reason. Like, what’s the offer? Why am I clicking on your ad? I gotta keep scrolling through looking at cat pictures and weird stuff like that. Why should I stop and click on your button? What’s the offer? Well if you click on this button I’m gonna show you a case study about blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Oh cool, that’s a good offer I’m gonna click on that.

Then you come over here and I’m gonna give you my email address, I’m gonna give you this report, and if nobody gives you anything, it means nobody wants a report, the offer’s no good. So change it, maybe instead of a report, you have a video. You know give ’em these two or three things. Maybe I’ve gotta find something that’s sexier, right. You’re figuring out something, you gotta make a better offer. Or if they’re not giving you money, same reason.

The offer’s no good. Make better offer. If you make a better offer, people are more likely to actually give you money. It’s always one of those three things, either hook, story, offer. Now what’s important to understand is that every page in this process there’s a hook, a story, and a offer. There’s a hook on your ad.

There’s a story in your ad. There’s an offer on your ad. On the landing page, hook, story, offer. On your sales page, hook, story, offer. Everything that’s happening inside your funnel, and outside your funnel. Every piece, every email you get, there’s a hook, a story, an offer. In fact, you wanna see what works, go back to your email, go back to gmail whatever, scroll through, look at what emails you actually clicked on, and you’ll realize that there was a hook.

The subject line was a hook. Like, what was it that made you click on that subject line? And then open the email and look, did you click on the link? ‘Cause there’s some story in the email, and if you clicked on it then that hook and that story in the email got you there, and then look at the page, did you give ’em money? Did you give ’em your email address? If so, what was the hook, the story, offer on that page?

– Hey, this is Russell Brunson. I want to welcome you to, High Ticket Funnel Secrets. Now, during this training I’m going to show you how to use high ticket application funnels to generate pre-qualified application leads. And then at the end of this video, I’m actually going to give you my top converting application funnels for free. But, before I do that I want to show you exactly what an application funnel is, how it works, and how it can work for your specific business. So, with that said lets jump right in. So, the first thing I want to show you is kinda the diagram of what a High Ticket Funnel looks like. It looks like this. It’s very simple, its just three core pages plus a pop-up.

So, page number one is what we call a reverse squeeze page. This is where you give them some kinda case study, or some kinda information about what it’s like to actually work with you. And they click on the button, and then the next page here on the pop-up then asks, um, they give you their email address. Then, the page after that, your taking they uh, you take them to a spot, where they can actually go apply to work directly with you. And the last page, you thank them for the application, and tell them what’s going to be happening next. It’s a very simple funnel, its super easy to create, and very powerful. Now, this is what it might look like if you were to create one here inside of Click Funnels. Page number 1, you got a case study, and there is a pop-up, for the email address.

Number three, is the application page, where they apply to work with you. And, then number four is the thank you page, where you explain what’s going to be happening next. Okay, so where did application funnels come from? And, these work really good if your in any kind of coaching, or consulting, or selling high ticketed, and expensive things, where typically you get somebody on the phone. Now, in a earlier business that I use to have, we made all of our money, by actually calling all of our leads. And in fact, we built the entire call center, we had 60 full-time sales people who were calling every single lead that came in. Talking to them, qualifying them, trying to figure out who’s a good fit.

Then we would sell them our high ticket products and services, and coaching and consulting. And, it worked well, but it was a lot of overhead, it was a lot of stress, and if anyone has ever worked with 60 full time sales people, you know that, um, that can be kinda stressful. And, so what we did eventually, I ended up shutting down that company down, but I missed selling the really expensive high ticket consulting and coaching, and things like that, that we were doing. And, I tried to figure out how do we change this around and make it easier.

And, so what we did, instead of going in outbound calling every single lead that ever came in, we built these applications funnels, to qualify all of the people, all of the leads, to find out who was the cream of the crop, and then we would only talk to them. And, so we shifted around, these 60 full time sales people, to where we shifted it to using an application funnel. Went down to having just one salesperson. Yes, just one salesperson doing the same amount, of net revenue as 60 full time salespeople where doing before. And, so I’m going to walk you through exactly how this process works, because it will give you so much less stress, so much less anxiety, and the same amount of money as having a huge team of salespeople working for you. Okay, so here is how it actually works.

Step number one, is the very first page in your funnel, you create a case study. Now, a case study about what its like to actually work with you. A success story, um what you do with the results you get for somebody, and you share this success story on the very first page After someone watches that, they think, “Hey man, I want that same case study in my business or my life,” or whatever it is you are selling. And, then the second step in the process then is to have them apply, to actually work directly with you.

Now, what this does is it takes it from you outbound calling and trying to sell every single person, every single leads you have, to which flips it on it’s side, were we do now, it’s a takeaway sell. They’re now presenting and trying to explain to you, through this application, why you should choose them as a client. And, then on the third page, then you tell them what to expect next. Now, for me it was hey, in the next 24 hours, someone is going to call you from my office, we are going to review the application to see if you are a good fit, and that way they know what’s going to happen.

You are going to call them on the phone. And, then you can sell them the product, the service, the coaching, the consulting, whatever it is you’re going to be selling on the phone anyway. Now, like I said, is what this does is it qualifies, it pre-schedules, it gets everybody ready to be able to work with you directly, and it makes your life so much easier. So, next question is like, well, how would you use an application funnel inside of your specific business? Now, every business is different, but there are so many different applications, for ways you can use it. Now, if you are selling coaching or consulting, this model, this funnel has been proven, it’s processed hundreds of millions of dollars, for me and other clients as well.

So this works really well if you’re doing coaching or high end consulting. We’re sure give any kind of high ticket services. Um, if your selling something that is ten, twenty, thirty, fifty, one hundred thousand dollars or more? Um, it works, really well there as well. And, any kind of professional services, mortgages, finances, anything where there typically needs to be a phone call involved in selling the product, or the service, usually because it’s either very specialized, or very expensive, the high ticketed application funnel will work for you.

In fact, almost any business who comes to me saying, “Russell, funnels don’t work for me because you know, I’m selling some of this fifty thousand dollars, nobody’s gonna be able to buy that through a funnel.” I tell them, yes they will. Use a high ticket application funnel, qualify them, and figure out who is the best leads. Have them, have them apply, and tell them why they should be using your product, your services, and then you call and just sign up those people, it makes your job so much easier, and so much better. So, here’s some of the best practices inside of a high ticket application funnel.

Number one, um on the home page, you wanna have some kinda free case study, showing what’s possible if somebody wants to actually work with you, or buy your product, or buy your service. Number two, the goal of this again is to share the case studies so they can see what it’s like to actually work with you. Like, that’s the magic of this, it gives them a glimpse of what it would be like if they had a chance to be, um, to have you as an actually client. And it shows them proof, proof proof. How much proof that you have, um about why, what it is you do, will work for them. Okay, number two, then looks at that, they click on the button and then we have a pop-up that comes up. This pop-up is where we start the application process, where you try to get their email address.

Now, I like having more proof, because as you can see here, one of mine, I have more proof of what it’s like to work with me. Then, at the call to action, give me your email address, to start the application right now. And this way, if they don’t finish the application later, I can send emails and follow up with them, until they actually finish the application, okay. Now, move on to page number three. Now, on this page, guess what I do? I provide more proof. Yes, I want them to understand that working with me, is the greatest decision ever made in their life. So I give them more proof, I have another video here, more success stories, more testimonials, more proof.

Then in that application where I ask them to fill out this form, to tell me why I should, um, why I should work with you. Notice the shift in um, in perspective, here. Instead of, me outbound calling leads, trying to convince them to buy my product, my service. These people were filling out an application. They seen all the proof. They seen these case studies. They seen all these things, now they are trying to tell me, why they should work with me. It changes the entire sales process for you. And then, the last page after they fill out the application. Again, then you tell them, what to expect next. You know, whatever it is, tell them what to expect, and that’s the last step here inside of an high application funnel. Funnels Tripwire Secrets: How to use Tripwire Funnels

– Hey, this is Russell Brunson and welcome to Tripwire Funnel Secrets. Now, during this presentation, I’m going to show you how to use simple Tripwire Funnels to get people to actually pay you to become a customer. And then at the end of this presentation, I’ll actually give you my top converting Tripwire Funnels for free. But first, I want to explain to you what a Tripwire Funnel is, how it works, and how it can work for your specific business.

Now, the first step here I want to show you kind of the layout of what a Tripwire Funnel looks like. It looks kind of like this. This is kind of a wireframe of what it looks like. The first page is what we call Two Step Sales Page. What that means is, usually with the Tripwire product, as you’ll see here in a moment, is usually a lower ticket product. Something that’s not very expensive, so it doesn’t need a lot of explaining to be able to sell it.

So, here on this page we have either video or some text or something to explain what the offer is. And then the order form is right there. And it’s a two step order form, where Step One we ask where to ship the product and then Step Number Two is then we ask for their credit card. After someone buys them, we take them to the second page, which is called an ‘OTO’ page, or a One Time Offer. Here we make them a special offer.

They’re able to click a button, do a 1-click upsell, so they don’t have to re-put in their credit card they just click a button, it’ll bill their card again and then they are taken to a thank you page or Offer Wall Page where you thank them for their order you give them access to it and then you can push them to other funnels other products or services if you have them, as well. So, that’s kind of the layout of what the page looks like. If you plug in an actual template it may look something kind of like this. So, that’s what a basic two-step Tripwire Funnel looks like.

how a Tripwire Funnel works: Where did Tripwire Funnels come from?

Now, the question a lot of people ask me is ‘Where did Tripwire Funnels come from?’ ‘What does that mean?’ ‘Where did that word even come from? It sounds so weird?’ And the term was kind of coined by one of my friends his name is Perry Belcher. And Perry runs a lot of really successful companies and a little while ago I was actually having a discussion with him and he talked to me and he said, “Russell, I figured out a new way where I can actually get people to pay me to become my customers.” And I was like, that sounds amazing.

How do you do that? And he said, “Well, if you think back in the past, there’s a company called Columbia House I think most people have been, you know, have lived at least twenty years on this Earth remember Columbia House. They used to have these offers where you get eight CDs or twelve cassettes for a penny. And this was a Tripwire offer where the offer is so good, so irresistible, the people have to buy it. And then, afterwards they’re more likely to become customers if you give them a good experience.

With Columbia House, you’d buy this and afterwards they start billing you thirty dollars a month, or whatever, for a CD of the month. And so that’s kind of how it worked back in the day. Now, Perry had a company at the time that was selling a survival membership site. And as they tried to sell access to the survival membership site, they did okay but nothing great until they created a Tripwire Funnel. And this was the very first Tripwire Funnel that I was aware. And what they did is they started making these really cool credit card knives. It was the knife that looked like a credit card that you could hide in your wallet and you could pull it out and you could fold it up and turn it into an actual knife. And so they started selling this card for free they just charged people shipping and handling. Right?

So, you come here, you pay like, I can’t remember, $2.95 or $3.95 shipping and handling to buy the product, okay? And again, this is is the Tripwire offer. It’s such a good offer you have to buy it. And then after you buy it, then the next page is you have the upsell where you sell the thing you’re actually trying to sell. Okay? So, with Perry, they were trying to sell access to the membership site and so after you ask them to buy a credit card the upsell said ‘Hey, I’ll give you another cool knife if you join my membership site.’ And I think they charge $10 a month to have access to the membership site. And so they’ll click the button and then they automatically are billed the second thing.

Funnels Tripwire Secrets: How a Tripwire Funnel works?

Okay? And so, the power behind a Tripwire is you create an offer that’s so good on the first step and usually that step is where they are actually putting their credit card in and that’s the hardest most difficult decision you make an offer that’s a complete no brainer they put in their credit card, they buy that thing and then the next page, which is usually a more difficult sell or more expensive product or something like that, but they don’t have to go and retype in their credit card and remake a big commitment, they just have to click yes and it’ll bill their credit card.And that’s how you can sell the things on the backend.

So, that’s kind of how a Tripwire Funnel works. And I’ll show you some more examples here as we go through it. So, here’s how it works. Step number 1, you have to create an irresistible Tripwire offer and I’ll show you a couple of ideas here in a second. But an offer that is so good that it is a no brainer where someone says ‘I’m gonna go find my wallet, grab my credit card because I need to have this thing.’ Okay.

Then after someone’s bought that, then the next step you upgrade them with the core offer the main thing you do wanna actually sell. Okay, so the example I was selling $197 training course my Tripwire here was the free book, they just cover the shipping and handling and then the upsell was $197 training course. And then the thank you page, thank them for buying and give them access to whatever they bought. Okay? So, that’s basically how a Tripwire Funnel works. It’s very simple and very easy. Here’s a couple examples on the left hand side. It says paying June, he did a free book offer similar to mine.

On the right hand side is a company called FiberFix we helped do a Tripwire Funnel for and theirs wasn’t a free plus shipping but it was a severely discounted price on their core product, FiberFix. Same kind of thing, you get somebody in there to say yes on the no brainer offer and then the upsell becomes a lot easier to get. Okay? So, what do you have inside of your company that you can use as a Tripwire Funnel? Okay? There’s a whole bunch of different things a lot of people use books and they use product samples. You have supplements you can use samples or supplements.

You can use CDs you can use DVDs you can do USB drives, you could do white papers. There’s a whole bunch of different things you can do. Just think about inside of your company what’s something you could sell that’s such a no brainer that someone’s gonna buy it. And then, you know, if someone buys that, they’re more likely to buy the next thing. Perry Belcher, the guy I told you about earlier, he actually used to own a suit company where he sold custom suits that were 2, 3, 4, 5 thousand dollars or more and it was hardest to go and sell custom suits so he thought, okay, someone who is buying this suit, what else would they want?

He said, well, people that wear suits, they also wear cuff links. So, he made these really good, these really cool cuff links, had them for low ticket and those became the Tripwire and everybody bought the cuff links and they up-sold them the custom suits. Okay? So, you just kind of have to reverse engineer your company. What is something your dream customer would actually want and then you create that as the Tripwire product you’re gonna sell through a Tripwire Funnel. Okay? Alright. So, here’s some of the best practices of the Tripwire Funnel. First page, you need to make them a low ticket Tripwire offer.

Something that is so irresistible. And it doesn’t have to be free but a lot of times we do make them free and we charge shipping. Or, you can make them, you know, a paid product with free shipping. Or it can just be an irresistible offer that’s so good that people have to buy it. Right? A lot of times, in fact, most times you don’t typically make money on this offer, but what’s happening is you’re getting somebody to go and find their wallet and pull their credit card out which is the hardest part about online marketing. And they’ve done that, they bought it.

That’s kind of the first step. If you look at the two-step order form here on the page Step number 1, they put in their shipping address. Then in Step 2, it asks for their credit card information and this two-step shipping process is something that we kind of customized here inside of ClickFunnels™ makes it so easy to do. So, I gave them a really good offer on this page, okay? So, I make them a special offer, and the power behind this is what we call one-click upsell. As soon as someone clicks on that button, it automatically bills their credit card.

They don’t have to go retype it in. They just have to say, you know what, yes, I do want that, they click on that button, bills their credit card and it take them to the next page inside the funnel. Then the third page is just the thank you page. You thank them for buying. If it’s something that is digitally bought, you give them access to it. If not, you can tell them what to expect, when it’s gonna come out and those type of things. And that’s how those pages work. Okay? Again, you give them access to the program.

– Alright, for everyone who’s tuning in, my name is Russell Brunson and right now I’m going to be covering another really cool question about how to grow your company, how to do funnels, and today’s question is called Funnel Profits. “Russell, what can I do to 10x my Sales Funnels’ profit?” Okay, so I’m going to begin by doodling out a sales funnel now, obviously every sales funnel is different.

Ever since we launched the company Click Funnels, people have been able to create all sorts of sales funnels so you can do simple ones, complex ones, there’s a bunch of variations but most sales funnels aren’t that complicated, right? Unless you are using really confusing software, then some people get really confusing but I like to keep it simple. So, most of mine are going to be like a landing page where my goal is to get somebody’s email address. So it’s going to be an email form and a button.

Then from there I go to a sales page, or maybe there’s a video and then there’s a button where somebody gives me money and then the next page, maybe there’s a page where there’s another video here and then there’s an upsell where they click a button and there’s an upsell. So, like, that’s a basic funnel, right? And so the coolest thing about what we do as funnel builders inside of Click Funnels and if you’ve read the Dotcom Secrets book or any of my books, I go deep into how these things work like step one, step two and that a whole bunch of different funnel types but what people understand is that the reason why this is so magical and the reason why I’m making really simple funnels is because I can test something, right? So let’s say I create the funnel the best I can, I don’t know if it’s going to work or not, then I go over and I talk to Mr. Zuckerberg over at Facebook and I say I’m going to buy some ads.

Right, so I go and I buy some ads and I drive traffic into this. Now what’s cool about this is I can go and I can buy some ads and some people, depending on your budget might be like 10 dollars, or 50 dollars, or 100 or 1,000 or something but I usually put some money in and I sit back and I just wait and I watch it and what’s going to happen is the ads, the market is going to show me exactly what’s working, what’s not working. Okay? So what’ll happen is like, let’s say I spent 1,000 bucks, right.

So say I spent 1,000 bucks let’s say it cost me a dollar per click just to make the numbers easier, right. 1,000 people end up showing up on this landing page. So then I look at, okay, of the 1,000 people ending up on the landing page, how many people gave me their email address? And I’ll look at that number and say, okay, looks like we had 378 people gave me their email address so, the conversion of step one and step two is with 378.

They also, okay, from 378 people gave me their email address how many actually purchased? And I’ll say okay, well, we ended up having, say, 10 people that actually purchased, and say, okay, how many people took the upsell? From the upsell we say, okay, we had one person take the upsell, right? So now I look at these numbers and I say, okay, what is, like, 1,000 people came, and I got 1,000 dollars so that means the ad, it means I’m spending about a dollar per click which is actually really, really good, right?

So I know that the ad over here, so this is Facebook and I’m placing the ad, okay, I know that that worked, that was good so I’m not going to touch the ad, because the ad’s perfect. And I come over here, 1,000 people hit, 378 so that means that 37% opt in, right, which is pretty good, that’s not horrible, it’s not the best but it’s pretty good. Okay, so that means if I draw a little number here, it means 37.8% of the people opted in on this page. So this page is a winner winner chicken dinner.

I’m not going to touch it but I’m going to be very excited about it, right. So now 378 came to this page and 10 bought so what’s the math on that for all our mathematicians at home. Let’s see, it means, what, 3.7%, I believe. Am I right on that? Anyone check my math? (laugh) Bought off this thing here, and 1/10 means 10% bought here. So I’m looking at all these things, so 37%, 3.7%, 10%. So if I’m looking at this funnel and I’m coaching somebody, I’m going to say, okay, what’s broken? The ads are doing awesome, a buck per click, winner, that’s awesome.

Funnels 10x Sales Profit: What should be the upsell rate?

Number two, 37% opt-in rate, that’s cool, we’re not going to worry about this. 3% sales rate, that’s, depending on the price point here, that’s not too bad, and then 10% upsell rate, 10%, like that’s, maybe that’s really really low, right? And again, I can shift these numbers, let’s say I shift these numbers and I go from 378 to let’s say we only get 78 people to opt-in, right? And then all of a sudden these numbers start shifting so now it’s like oh, crap, in this funnel we only had 7.8% opt-in rate.

Now I’m looking at that and I’m like there’s your issue, that’s the problem. That’s a horrible opt-in rate. So what do we know? It means I didn’t use enough curiosity on the landing page. It means my landing page was too flashy, it was confusing people, whatever it is. So I’ve got to change that, right, so I come in there and we call these funnel audibles, I come in there, I call them audible, I need to tweak this page a little bit. I make some tweaks, some changes, and hopefully this goes from 7% to 17%.

And we keep tweaking it, and now it’s 27%, now it’s 37%, we make the changes, and then eventually this goes back to green where we’re like sweet, that number’s awesome, I’m really happy at 37% that opted in. And now, you know I put a dollar into ads now, maybe back here two dollars pop back out. Which that’s all marketing is, it’s all funnels are is how do I build a funnel where I put a dollar in advertising in and get two dollars back out. Okay, if you had a slot machine where you put a dollar in and every time it popped out two dollars, how many times would you put a dollar in? You’d put in a dollar every single day as often as fast as you could, right? So same thing, so we’re building the slot machine where you put a dollar in, get two dollars back out.

That’s all we’re playing with this game, it’s super fun. And so, all I’m looking at is okay, I put the dollar in, I get two dollars back out, if not, which one of these numbers is skewed. And then I figure out, okay, opt-in rate is awesome but this is only converting it at a 0.5%? That’s the red one, this is the one, something’s not right here. And my video’s not right, or the offer’s not right, or something’s not right, so I’m going to tweak some stuff, change some things, spend a little bit more money and see what happens.

And then I’m going to make some tweaks, some changes, spend some more money, and keep going with that process until it works and I have a funnel where I can put a dollar in advertising in and get two dollars back out. So that’s how we 10x our Sales Funnels’ profits. If you look at anybody in my inner circle, people I coach directly, my own funnels, this is the game we play. We create our best version we possibly can, we go spend some money on ads, and then we sit back and watch, see what happens, and then we come back and say oh, our guess on this page was wrong. Or this was awesome, that’s awesome, this is doing bad.

Or these three are doing awesome but our ad costs we’re paying like 22 dollars per click maybe our ad’s horrible, let’s change the ad around. And you just make a couple adjustments and tweaks until it works, and as soon as it works you’ve got something you can put a dollar in and get two dollars back out. Then you just dump in as many dollars as you can and every once in a while, not all the time but every once in a while you build a funnel that’s so good where instead of putting a dollar in and getting two out, you put a dollar in and you get three out, or five out, or 10 out, and this is like the big paydays you’re looking for.

But we don’t know which ones this is going to be which is why it’s so much fun building funnels inside of Click Funnels. You try one, test it out, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Then you try another one, sometimes it works, it doesn’t. Try another one, make some tweaks, make some changes until boom, something hits and then it’s off to the races. So, that is how you 10x your sales profit it’s just by watching the numbers and doing basic, simple math, making simple adjustments, trying again, and keep doing that until you have something that actually works. Funnels Finding Grant: We are back for another episode of Funnel Hacker TV! Just as we finished up Dreamforce in San Francisco, we are flying by the seat of our pants (literally!) around the country to meet up with Grant Cardone. As you’ll see, things don’t always work out the way you plan!

(expressive drum music) – I am out right now, in San Francisco at Salesforce’s big event, it’s called Dreamforce. With that said I’m gonna get some sushi, and then we’re heading to Metallica. – Alright, so right now we’re headed to the Metallica concert and we’re not leaving until they play my favorite song. (muffled music in distance) (starry keyboard music) (people laughing) (powerful electronic music) (cars engines idling) – So we’re Metallica, we tried to get to the front we got stuck.

Someone dumped a beer on Todd. – Covered in beer, yeah. – And then we snuck out, finally, and we are late. So now we’re in the Uber heading back to the hotel to pack our bags to head to the airport, because our flight leaves in like three hours. (Todd and Russell speak over eachother) Six minutes from now we gotta be back in the lobby with our stuff. (feverish muffled house music) (elevator dings) – Alright dude, we’ve got like two minutes here. Hurry bud, we’ll see you real soon, please? Hurry! – [Camerman] Hopefully. – I hope! – [Dave] Russell! (deep electric guitar music) –

We made it. I thought we were going to be missing this flight. (plane engine roaring) Alright, so we just landed in Chicago O’Hare. It was a rough night, Dave had 57 minutes. Dan, holding you right now, had zero. I did the best I think, I feel guiltly now. Oh my gosh, ‘kay hold on. Flashback with me. So 20 years ago, I was on this escalator with my dad my senior year in high school, I was going the high school nationals, and we were going down the runway with these lights. Take second in the country, became an All-American, which changed the whole direction of my life forever. Which got me the ability to go to a Division 1 rep college to wrestle in. Which is why I end up in Boise, which is why, ClickFunnels™ got built everything because of the trip with my dad, right here.

Get some rest! (dial beeps) (phone receiver clatters) – [Dan] Okay, what? (chuckles) (phone beeps) – [Dan] Okay? (luggage clattering) – Another Lincoln Navigator. We seem to be doing all exclusive Lincoln Navigators this trip. –

Alright, today me and Nick stole Russell’s camera. – That’s right. – Well let’s give a little bit of a backstory so, today we were supposed to meet with Grant Cardone, (banister clangs) that’s not stable. (Nick and Jack laugh) We were supposed to meet with Grant Cardone today and he actually isn’t even here, so he’s down in Florida and we have nothing to do, so the plan was to get on his private jet to fly back to Boise to build him a funnel. So what we’re actually going to be doing today is just gonna go hang out Chicago and we’ll check out the sights. Let’s go! – So the situation with Grant is he was supposed to be in Miami right now, but he had this opportunity to go fly up to Orlando, go take a look at some real estate. – We know that because on Instagram he goes live, and we’re watching like, “Oh, he’s in the plane he’s coming here.” and he’s like– – Orlando, coming to see you. – Thank you Instagram live for letting us know your plans. –

Brian Underwood the owner of Pruvit is supposed to flying to Boise in his private plane tomorrow, ’cause I have an important meeting with him. So he rerouted his private plane to land here in Chicago. Right now, we’re on like seven hours of sleep in the last like three days. Craziest thing, ’cause we’re flying to Palm Beach to be in Miami, we have not confirmed yet that Greg actually flies from Miami back to Chicago tomorrow. We’re just hoping and praying that somehow some miracle will open up and we will end up back here tomorrow morning at nine, with him. – Sup dude. – He’s talking to Grant to figure out if we could actually get back too. – Alright let me see what I can do. (laughing) Alright. – ‘

Kay this is the update, this is the live update of what’s happening. – So yeah, they actually can get us back, but now what they want is they want Nick and Jake to fly down and they wanna film it on the leg from Miami to Chicago. (Russell sighs) – Okay so, crazy things happening around here. So we thought we had a full day here in Chicago, but now, we might be flying to Miami. So we had to turn our Uber around and come back to the hotel. – Things change. – Yeah, wish we had a funnel for that. Good job. Life water. (rising electronic noise) (Dan catches breath) (woeful alternative-rock music) – Alright ya’ll ready? – We’re ready guys. – Awesome, let’s rock. – Alright, so we’re here now.

There’s Brian the owner of Pruvit and we’re jumping on his plane. He’s got three now, which makes total sense, so… (woeful alternative-rock music) – We did this really cool trip to Dubai, and so like we skydived over Dubai, we did dune-racing on these big ATVs going down like 300 foot sand dunes. And then we played polo on camels. And so, My wife fell in love with the camels, and so for Christmas I surprised her with two camels. – Surprise, you have a camel! – Yeah. – Hank and Merle. – [Dave] Hank and Merle? – Yeah, for the country singers. Merle Haggard and Hank Williams. –

Do ya’ll want to experiment with something? – Why not? – Uh, yes. – So this is an actual ketone ester. That’s like massive mental clarity. I mean I’m super, super tired, but I’m like, “I can go!” Let’s go. Let’s go! – I feel like I’m at my house, my seatbelts not even on, I didn’t even go through security we could be a bomb right now. I just said bomb in a plane and nobody cares.

Alright so for somebody who has a vision of someday owning one, or two, or four jets what would be the biggest takeaway or aha you had in the last couple years to get somebody from wherever they’re at to the next level. – I think always stretch yourself. And I think the best way to stretch yourself is to put yourself in environments that you don’t feel comfortable in, or around people that you can learn from. I find, and this is just me personally, like, when I’m with you I get inspired, right? Because you’re stretching yourself, you’re in the hunt, so to speak.

And I think proximity is power. I think being around the right people is super important. As you start having success, go back to scratch, go back to where it all started. You have a very keen awareness of what it’s all about, where your family is, where you started. And I think you stay grounded in those roots. So as cliche as it may sound, business is just like life, is embrace the journey, embrace the process. And just keep moving forward. –

What I think is interesting too, think about this, Tony Robbins says this a lot. We always overestimate what we’ve done in a year, and underestimate what we’ve done in ten years. And it’s like five years ago we were in a company together that literally made zero dollars. And we spent like, I spent six months in all. You just probably spent a year, year and a half of your life. – Those who are just tuning in, my name’s Russel Brunson. Right now we are answering a whole bunch of amazing questions about how to grow your companies, internet marketing, personal development, all sorts of stuff. And right now, the question for today is landing page Secrets. So I’m gonna tell you guys a story, I learned from Daegan Smith, and it’s brilliant. So, Daegan was telling me this story, I’m not the best doodler, but I’m gonna do my best, okay? Alright, in fact if you read either of my books, Dotcom Secrets book or Expert Secrets book, I doodle everything. So I mean, I’m a doodler, ’cause I visually see things, but I’m not the best drawer. So here we go. So for this doodle, I need a tree. So here’s my blue tree, K. So there’s the blue tree and in front of the tree, there’s like this lake, which is also blue.

There’s some fish in the lake. And over in the bushes, there is this deer that’s coming. Okay, this is a deer. And the deer is like, I need a drink of water. Now the deer represents your customer and the lake represents your landing page. Now I’ve seen a bunch of your landing pages. I’ve seen most of ’em. Now as the owner of Click Funnels, right now we have over 65 thousand members who are in there using our software every single day and so I see most of your landing pages, okay? And this is the mistake you’re making. I got a green marker now, thank you everybody.

Now we got a green tree, it’s a lot better. So this is the problem, you guys are creating this landing page. You’re like, oh my gosh, we need to attract all these customers. So because of that, we’re gonna do some crazy things. You’re sitting out here and like you’re dancing and your juggling and then you got a dude over here shooting off fireworks. It’s all exciting and you’re like, ah come over here to our lake. Now what does that do to your customers?

This deer over here, who’s meeting you and your brand for the very first time ever. K, they see that and their like, oh my gosh and it’s like a twig snapping and this deer runs away and is gone forever. But that’s what we all do because we’re so excited about our new customers coming in. K, now if you want to make a landing page work, we have to understand that anything you do that’s out of the ordinary, that’s crazy, is gonna pull people away.

Funnels Double Sales: Make it simple and clear

Okay, there’s two things on a landing page that are essential to it being successful. Number one is it’s gotta be simple. If you look at any of my landing pages, they are simple, there’s not a lot happening. It’s just very much like, okay this is what you want, you want this free book, you want this free video. Here’s the headline about what it’s about. It’s just very simple and easy. There’s not distracting images and buttons and a whole bunch of stuff, it’s very simple and easy.

The cleaner, the better, okay? Notice my landing pages. Notice just how simple they are. Most of the time when people ask me to do website critiques, I log into their Click Funnels account and delete like 90% of the stuff on the page. Like, okay does that feel more simple? Like do I feel like my customer can now come to the lake and not get freaked out? And then number two, and this is the key, I want you guys to understand this, number two is curiosity. Curiosity is the key, okay? I have some members of my inner circle, Mike and AJ, and they’re awesome.

They had this webinar. I wish I had the stats in front of me right now, but they had this webinar registration page and it was costing them like $23, $24 to get somebody to register for the webinar. And I remember looking at the page and the page was simple, so they did that right, but I remember looking at the message and the headline explained exactly what was happening in the webinar. It was like, register for our webinar to find out how to do local reviews for a company. And it cost ’em like $21, $22 per lead on Facebook, which is insane, like way too much. And they’re like, what should we do? And I looked at it and I said, I know exactly where the problem is.

The problem is there’s no curiosity. When I look at that page, I know exactly what’s happening in the webinar. So because of that, the registration rate is gonna be low and the show up rate’s gonna be even lower. Because I can kinda guess, oh I think he’s talking about, blah. If someone looks at you’re page and they can answer the question in their mind, they’re not gonna give you their contact information, they’re not gonna go to the next step, they’re not gonna show up to your webinar, they’re gonna opt in for your free gift, or whatever that thing is for you.

You have to have curiosity. So for them, all we did is we changed it. Instead of saying, find out how to do local reviews, it was, find out how to get clients, whatever it said, and by the way this is not by doing Facebook Ads, it’s not by doing Google Ads, it’s not by doing all the things that people might think, but people didn’t know what it was. And people were like, oh my gosh what is it? I need to find out. They had so much curiosity, they had to put in the email address, they had to show up. And his registration rate from like, $21, $22 per registrant down to like $3 or $4 per registrant. And they’re show up rate went from like, 14-15% to like 30%, all by increasing the curiosity.

So if you want you’re landing pages to get better, higher converting landing pages, make them simple and add tons of curiosity. This deer coming to the water’s curious, like what’s that water look like? What’s it gonna taste like? Like what’s the process, what’s the experience gonna be? So that’s why they’re tip toeing over, just like you’re customer is. And you make it simple, get rid of all the flashy stuff around it, and then make it as curiosity based as possible.

You’re gonna come in and they’re gonna take you up on your offer. So that is my, probably my number one landing page secret. Hey, for those who are just tuning in, my name is Russell Brunson and today I’m gonna be answering a whole bunch of different questions on marketing and sales and growing your company and funnels and traffic and making money and a whole bunch of stuff in between. But today’s question is one of my favorites. In fact, it might cause a little bit of a rant. The question is, websites versus funnels. And the questions says, so maybe I’m crazy, but I don’t see a difference between a website and a sales funnel. Why do I need a sales funnel? Oh, thank you for asking that question. I’m gonna try to doodle this kinda fast so you guys don’t miss any of it. So this is a traditional website, okay? You come right here, you got your website, I’m sure you guys have seen this a billion times. Website. And on top you’ve got your logo and there’s like a navigation menu, there’s a secondary menu, then right here if they click on any of these it drops down a sub-menu with like 20 different options. You click here there’s like 20 more options. Then there’s like a section here and a section here and a section here and a section here and then, every section they click takes them somewhere else.

And then it takes ’em to the secondary page and the third page and they, on page like 92 there’s like a place where we ask for money, right? I’ll make it green. This is where we finally ask for money. That’s a traditional website. What does that look like to you? Let’s you go and you give Mr. Zuckerberg some money on Facebook, he drives a whole bunch of people here. It’s literally like, let’s say you have a store, and in front of the store you had a whole bunch of people blocking people from coming into the front door, you’re like, ah, ah, but wait, hold on, do you wanna know about us? Wait, you wanna contact us? Wait, do you want my about page? Wait, do you wanna see my product page? What do you wanna see, and you’re like blocking them with all of these links. They’re coming here to get to the link right here, let’s say this is like the money link where they’re gonna give you money because of this page right here. But they gotta pass one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, there’s like 20 or 30 things they have to navigate around to get to the spot where you actually want, where they ask you do something to do give you money or to become a lead or whatever it is.

That is your traditional website. They drive me nuts, though, right? There’s either that or the other variation. If you’re looking at these in the real world one of ’em is like, here’s your storefront, and you’ve got like armed guards out front blocking people from coming through the door. So there’s your website, that’s what a lot of you guys are doing if you got a tradiational website. You’re like, don’t come in, please, I want to confuse you. The number one rule of direct response marketing is a confused mind will always say no. So you are blocking them and confusing them, they’re like, ah, I don’t know what to do, and they just leave. Or the second option is you do more like a traditional e-commerce store or Amazon. And you don’t have these guys blocking ’em, but you’re like, welcome to my store, and they walk in there’s a billion things and they walk in they’re like, I don’t know what to do. Or they walk, have you guys ever walked in the library? I wanna learn how to tie my shoe.

You walk in the library and there’s like eight levels like 800 books, you’re just like, um, I don’t know what to do, and you walk out. I’m sure the answer’s somewhere in there, I just don’t know what it is. That’s what most people are doing with a website. They’re blocking everything. So now take that, let’s shift that to a funnel. So what is a funnel?Here is a funnel. So a funnel is like imagine this person, here’s the dude right here coming to your world, he comes into your store. Instead of blocking him or ignoring him, you meet him at the front door and you’re like, hey, what’s your name? They’re like, oh, my name is Russell. Oh Russell, great to meet you. I want to make sure you have the

best experience possible so step number one, what are you actually looking for? I’m like, oh, I’m going on a camping trip this weekend. Cool, so what do you want? I’m like, I’m actually looking for a tent. He’s like, oh, you want a tent, okay. And the guy grabs me over here and takes me over to the tents. He’s like, here is the tent section, Russell. I’m like, oh, sweet, the tent is awesome. Thank you so much for the tent. And they’re like, what else do you need on this trip you’re going on? I’m like, well, I’m gonna go backpacking with my kids. Well, do you have a backpack? No. Oh, well, you should get a backpack. And the dude walks me over here and I get a backpack. And he takes me through a customized sales process specifically for me.

That’s what a funnel is. When I drive somebody from Facebook and they come to a page, page number one is a very simple like usually there’s one thing, right? A confused mind always says no, so maybe I’m saying, hey, welcome to my landing page. In fact, if you go to ClickFunnels.com right now you’ll notice it’s like, hey, a lot of people use ClickFunnels™. Tell me kind of business you’re in and I’ll tell you exactly what type of funnel you need. And so I have this like survey here. They tell me exactly what kind of funnel they have. Based on that I have 10 different pages I take them to. Just like if this dude, if I walked in and I was like, hey, I run a retail location, how do I use

funnels? He wouldn’t walk me over to some other weird section, he’d take me exactly where it is. So on page one of funnels it’s very simple. I ask who they are, what they want. I take ’em specifically to a page that gets ’em exactly what they want. And then from there, I take ’em to the next page and I’m able to walk them through a very simple sales process where they only see one thing at a time, I take ’em through this process, and what happens is two things. Number one, this customer that you just paid for to get to your website or to your funnel, because he now has a customized experience, he ends up being really happy, like a lot happier, right? He’s like, wow, these guys treated me really, really well. They didn’t just like slam me into a brick wall and hope I could figure my way out. They didn’t block me and confuse me.

They took me through a very systematic sales process so I understood exactly what I was doing. So your customer becomes really happy. The second thing is, you, as the shop owner, you can come down here, you become more happy because guess what happens? They end up paying you more money. So what happens is the customer has a better experience, you as the owner of the funnel makes more money so you have a better experience. Both people win. My definition of business is when both people leave fee knowing that they got a better deal. And that’s what a funnel is. If you hate your customers, you should definitely keep using a website. Keep blocking them.
