you started exercising but make sure you’re doing it too before right after your morning prayers and I think it’s again it’s neat to see I get that being a Mormon I’ve obviously been very strong in my faith as well and I think that it’s fun for me to see others who are strong in the faith and able to get out there and basically as they talk about it to to use it as a part of their business as well not from a leverage standpoint but really as a legacy to really help those who who may not know so well yes I’ve right into this I think um from a Facebook standpoint this you’ve really kind of become a huge facebook marketing expert tell me a little bit about how what are some of the things you’re paying attention to right now from Facebook and for those people who might need help with it would be some tips and tricks you tell them they should be focusing on as far as Facebook Ads yeah I think the first thing is have a vision so it will sauce up with your vision my vision is to build pioneers on a bit more leaders we can get out there make money and have a big impact and before I came on to the whole Facebook stuff I did a whole blue ocean strategy like you know eight years ago also how do i dominate this industry which no one’s really starting out on and it’s all about looking at what’s going to come up in the next couple of years so I think as I virtual reality augmented reality facebook Messenger BOTS in a mixing artificial intelligence with your facebook marketing and a facebook ads which are like 360 degrees and you have like your running Facebook ads on to them and then things like Holograms you know I saw Tony Robbins do an event I think it’s an Australia where he was like a hologram and he could appear in different locations and so it’s about looking ahead and innovating a more I’m a big believer of innovation and even that there’s a lot of Facebook marketing experts I a post yesterday I was lying for Facebook marketing in the Muslim space even though I charged you know ten times more than anyone else you know still people come to me and even if you have a program that’s 10 times unit cheaper I guarantee that people are still going to come to me because of my success stories my track record and my legacy message so it’s about being really confident in your brand message your story and not worrying about competition and just getting started you know you’re not going to make a million dollars in your first couple of days it’s no hype in air being honest you have to work hard they need a mentor you want to do Facebook ads it’s such a great skill to you know learn you know I can run Facebook ads and I could go on holiday and you know have an automated system where my sales guy is converting you know the cells on the backend and you know your honor your honor work on your business and not just exciting you know but you don’t to be a slave of the system another you so I know you said about Facebook marketing and Facebook ads but I believe is a whole mindset is the whole psychology the whole science behind your productivity so you know waking up in the morning you know doing your prayers and you know going to the gym and I start my work usually in the morning because that’s when I’m most productive and if you can have that same mindset on Facebook then I measure Facebook marketing much more powerful much more influential you can dominate your industry and be a leader as though and I I even thought about doing this in a mainstream and I think I can even take the same Muslim branding into the mainstream and inspire people like even my ClickFunnels™ post the other day with my mum you know over 500 lights and so many comments my friend was buzzing like it was in my pocket I build all that wow this is just so much love and so many people were sending me family crest they wanted to you know wanted me to mentor them and I just overwhelm with so much love by in and non-muslims and my whole focus is the humanity you know it’s not just one particular face I love different face you know what about love and peace and being authentic and you know being the best version of myself and you know I don’t know I don’t have a this podcast just happiness and fluffy and you know love and peace we’re going to get into some practical you know Facebook marketing strategies but this is the whole foundation that you know you can build on as well I love that I think it’s as you mentioned that’s the foundation you need to come from and I think once you’ve got that foundation laid at that point you can really start to really grow and build your business so I congratulate you on how you’ve done that thank you so much so let’s talk a little bit about the ideas for our Facebook bots I know that’s you know many Chad is one that we’ve used quite a bit what yeah what are you seeing with the messenger box how are you using them and what’s working what’s not yes set up a messenger bot where I did a 42 speaker a Muslim business online event last year I had 43 speakers then it was like within like three to five days I had all 40-plus speakers booked it was amazing I just reached out said you want to speak on my event and it’s kind of evergreen as well so set up a facebook messenger bar and I use many chat as well I look to other ones but many chance more user friendly and email marketing is kind of going on a decline you know people are getting bombarded with hundreds of emails like every day but it could be a pioneer you can you know differentiate yourself get many chat look at the Help section you know reach out to me set up a facebook Messenger bot and it automates your Facebook messages in a way where you can build another list you can build a brand asset like you know I was able to do seven figure cells of an email list of like nine thousand subscribers you know you don’t need a big demolish you need a higher hyper targeted segmented list so that you can reach out to them and face the message your boss is all about intimacy it’s all about connecting on a much deeper level using the power of segmentation and quizzes so you can really get your message out there and connect with people on a one-to-one level by a small language it’s more scalable and yeah facebook Messenger bot if you’re not going to use them now then you’re crazy you need to jump on this ASAP you know sign up for many chat get a pro version and then look at you know growth tools I set up a Facebook post okay use an image as well give ass-kisser free valuable content like a video or PDF get people to comment on your post get them to say yes or you know I’m in or I’m interested and you send them an automated message from your mess Jabar you start building your messenger list and you can send them messages just like your email list and we can build up your subscriber list on space but I think it’s so powerful because I’m CIPA is like 90 percent and click-through rates of over 30% to my facebook Messenger bot list whereas my email marketing is like 20% you know five percent click-through rate so the opportunity is huge we have you know facebook Messenger bots so let’s talk about this the mechanic this year so obviously and go to minute they can set that up they can get pro version and so some of the main things that we take a look at I know from ours so basically they set that up they then go ahead they create a post and then in the post if a person makes a comment by making a comment whatever you can actually trigger it so whatever the word is they get a separate message correct yeah yeah set per message and then one you send them the message they have to reply back to confirm this is a qualified subscriber and then you can send them an autoresponder by a facebook messenger bot where it’s like are you earning under six figures are you making five figures okay based on you know your your awareness level which is in a marketing is getting a whole new dilation nice there’s no one-size-fits-all it’s about awareness levels it’s about looking at where what the pain points are what’s the process what solution they want and it’s about putting them into buckets you know if you put them into different buckets based on the income level based on their their interest in your brand that’s what makes Facebook Messenger but it’s really powerful I think that’s the part that a lot of people have missed recently as I’ve seen a lot of people just communicate their audience as a whole but the main thing that we’re seeing and using a lot of messenger BOTS for is yeah it’s really segment your list to play on buckets so you can identify those are certain niche they’re going after are they more focused on online or offline are they are they wanting to learn more they wanted someone to do it for them I mean there’s whole bunch a different things I get on the income levels another one so I’m yeah love what you deal with that kind of thats super super cool yeah and then Facebook groups so I wanted to build a community an ecosystem where people can network and I saw what dish the marketers and I saw what click photos has done they build a tribe a coach so I built my own Facebook group of you know we’ve got over 23,000 members in there just on Facebook group alone I’ve been able to do six-figure sales and I took Jeff Walker’s product launch formula and I try to do that on a Facebook group so deep reframing you get people excited and then with a limited time window you get them to opt in to your email list or you get you take them to an offer just on Facebook groups alone you can make money you can give great content and the Facebook groups are so powerful you know you want to have a Facebook group that’s a must have going to build a tribe going to build an ecosystem you want to build a network of like-minded people and just recently Facebook groups they’ve got segmentation where you can people have people have to fill out a certain questions before they join your group house you know we click funnels where before people join the group they have to fill out certain questions that we’ve seen that as well oh yes of course yeah it’ll actually work really powerful you gives gets people more serious and the more segmented someone is the more serious they are the better prospect they are and that’s the future you know having artificial intelligence you know robots dominate your face – marketing – backup of data numbers of statistics they could do things in the most scalable way and then you have a Facebook group of tribal community and ecosystem where you’re giving them great content and yeah just viously group insights came about have you seen that a little bit tell me more about what you’re finding are using it it’s amazing group insights I’m seeing where people are forum or posts are getting the most views I didn’t realize I was getting down much engagement is like you know we’ve got thousands of active people in the group you know facet of views coming you know every month size of engagement as reactions as engagement it breaks the debates it down by demographic it breaks it down by gender by 50 it tells you who your top members are that’s data that you can use on your group to run marketing campaigns and I finding people between 23 and 35 across UK and us Muslim based that’s my idea audiences there’s really powerful because then I can I can use that data and run the Facebook Ads to them and I could be retargeting under it’s amazing how to do the detailed Facebook goes into you there I’m day yeah can you hear me yeah you broke up with your second affection I wanted not sure no I agree as far as the insights are amazing and I think the key for a lot of us is is many people I sent talk to get so much data come in they don’t know what to do with it so what are some of the main things that you’re paying attention to in the insights what as you’re building the legs your legacy build a brand were some of the key insights that you’re looking for I mean the key data is how people communicate what language patterns are they’re using one of their frustrations whether they’re pain point when people leave a comment when people leave you know a message what’s the biggest frustration what’s the biggest solution that they’re looking for and then you know what’s the income level like what is stuck on that specific income level what is it that mainly drives them what is it that you know mainly influences them what’s their buying patterns like how much are they purchasing per month what are they investing in these are things you can use and put into your marketing campaign you know you can use surveys you can be posed and that becomes really powerful once you do that data you can customize your marketing campaign on the front end you can segment people out into you know who’s go you know who’s just starting out who’s got a six-figure business who’s got a seven-figure business you can map how funnel based on the different segmentation levels and face a messenger bots are great for that also in having a Facebook group is really powerful for that as well so tell me when you’re looking at what complaints we’ve heard from some people with regard to the messenger BOTS and that is feeling like they’re not that they lose the connection with the people or the people feel like it’s not really them responding I know for for our team here one of things we’ve struggled with with Russell is a lot of these people want to actually communicate it’s when they think it’s Russell talking they think oh my gosh that’s actually russell brunson versus apps a bot so how do you how do you do things to to make sure they understand that it may not be you but at the same time it’s worth their paid attention to yeah really good question and you want to have different forms of communication so you can have video you have images just constantly sending them in a one form of communication like in a text after text they’re going to be that always another you know messenger ball it’s not really us though it’s just automated message not really going to care versus a video if it’s an image which you can do by many chat as more intimacy as more connection and then it will be like oh wow you know this may be you know an automated message but because it’s a short sharp video then they’re going to respond to that and I think that’s the way forward you know having sure sharp you know communication message which change the state if you can change the state of your audience who you know messenger BOTS that’s what’s going to make it more effective and I mean it really is the best way or even an audio message saying hey I’m Ursula hey I’m a cube you know here’s what I have a question for you what’s your biggest challenge or what would you like to learn message me back and I promise you I will read your message so things like that can really bump up the the credibility of messenger boss and make them more exciting as well I keep that awesome I love that idea now it’s a mighty cool approach more books I thought that underscores us that’s pretty good I’m sorry we’re also going to start using that though I think it’s fantastic I think the main thing is again we got to joke around earlier about this whole you know the VR type of stuff and you know using a lot of the robotic things and I think what people really want is they want to be able to feel like they’re connecting with you that they’re that’s authentic that’s a real connection so I think again audios and videos things like that that you can add into your your messenger box that’s fantastic well yeah what other ideas do you have as far as anything else on the bots that we need to be aware of I believe that innovation is the combination of two industries coming together and I’m always even a lot of people are doing Facebook marketing I believe that innovation is what drives you know Facebook marketing forward so where you have chocolate and you have cake you bring it together becomes chocolate cake when you have chicken and you have ice they come together to becomes the chicken dish that’s that’s innovation on a simple level when you take the concept from two different industries and bring it together that makes it really pop so when it comes to say teasing messenger bot artificial intelligence back to a facebook marketing is what’s going to drive you know this new innovative form of Facebook marketing you know moving forward people just need to jump on it start testing start testing start asking questions I mean I reach out to me are more than happy to help you give you some advice give some guidance and just got to take action you know a lot of people listed podcasts a lot of people listened to you know content but it on take action okay one form of action everyday making a commitment to wake up early in the morning to you know start your work and the B legacy focused as well I think that’s fantastic well Cuba’s we kind of get close to wrapping things up your anything else you wanna make sure his listeners or followers understand with regard to Facebook Ads or groups are bots yeah I think that we face because you want to have a funnel you know obviously sign up for click funnels quick shout-out to click funders for you wanna hear my link to dollars three dollars back in sales I found Facebook marketing campaigns well for every one dollar you know I put interface because we’re getting like seventy dollars back you know in sales you know it’s crazy and it’s all about a psychology understanding your audience the pain points and just getting started the whole purpose of this podcast now is not to bombard you have lots of information and I’m sure you’ve heard some of this information before but take action on the one piece time giving you you know go to many chair set up Facebook Messenger BOTS and they just get serious about this take one form of action and also start working you know early in the morning you know start your day is early at like you know five six o’clock in the morning and you just feel much more productive and you want to leave that legacy behind when you die what are you going to be remembered for what legacy you’re going to leave behind your honor be remembered as the you know song who made a difference so I’m who you know help families become happy who left a legacy behind as Facebook such a powerful tool because back in the days people have to pay so much money to just get on TV and radio and it wasn’t you can even you couldn’t even track it you know you’re going on TV reaching so many people but it wasn’t trackable you know doing their demographics there were no you know interest levels but on Facebook it goes it goes right down to even income levels so if you have you know Facebook marketing dialed in there’s a demographic you know psychographics based on you know lots of different data points then it becomes much more powerful and the Facebook ad do look like audience you know upload your email list as a custom audience and those such as recently faces got a new – we can you know match your customers based like lifetime audience you can be seen that it’s like a lifetime audience tool as well that’s awesome yeah that’s all good just come out recently yeah it’s really possibly when I leverage all of these tools and set up your Pig so I just take action even though I fell on campaigns I mess up but it’s about testing and you know being able to failure and just test a five ten dollars a day and just take action don’t be a sheep just take action and get on with it because a lot of people that consume information and nothing information is pointless what’s up everybody this is Russell and welcome to today’s episode of marketing secrets is in the rain here in Kauai so the big question is yes how are entrepreneurs like us you didn’t cheat and take on venture capital we’re spending money from our own pocket how do we mark it in a way the left-half see our products and our services and the things we believe in out to the world and yet still remain profitable that is the question in this podcast we’ll give you the answers my name is Russell Brunson and welcome to marketing speaker alright everybody so unwelcome yesterday’s episode marketing secrets it is raining on me right now and if you see that over here if you’re watching the video version but it’s beautiful here and I wanted to do it episode oh man this is really really good I like to come and hide into the bush or something ah anyway I’m just gonna say here we go wet anymore fun this way alright so uh we’ve been in a whi for almost a week now on my 15 year anniversary which is amazing being married to my beautiful wife Colette’s this long and I’m trying to get her to do an episode with you guys hopefully on the flight home or something that was like living with Samia married to an entrepreneur at our we’re trying to pick our keynote speaker for this year’s pinaki live and it’s funny because we had tons and tons of people voting for everybody and someone posted Oprah and some Russell’s wife and my wife got more votes than Oprah which is pretty exciting so try to get her at least to jump on the podcast that’s the that’s the goal in the game plan but I’m sure with you guys today um has I’ve been Oh wouldn’t why the rains gone that fast although just there’s a bird’s-eye view anyway so uh my phone off real quick alright so what I wanted to share to you guys I’ve been listening to a whole bunch of cool marketing stuff between like the long drives around the island all kind of the cool stuff we’re doing and the course I was listening to was PJ roll letter TJ no TJ he’s like one of the legends in our business he is the one of the Direct Mail kings he’s in the biz op world and he teaches become a friend came to speak one of our events a while ago which was amazing and what’s interesting is at the course listening to it’s like how to become super rich in the opportunity market me teach people how to make money in the like heaps of people how to get rich market but was interesting as I was listening to it if you read the expert secrets book and I talked about those three core things do you got to do to have build a mass movement right number one number one yet have the attractive character the charismatic leader number two to have a future based cause number three it’s have a new opportunity what’s interesting as I was listening to this he’s talking about like how to sell opportunities like basically if you’re doing a mass movement we’re talking about like it’s always a new opportunity like it’s like if he’s talking about the opportunities the way he kind of positions where like how to get rich how to make money house like here’s the opportunity market as he calls it but in my mind every markets the opportunity market so I’m going to see if I can interview T Jane at dig deep neck and the stuff was brilliant it was all targeted towards telling people stuff like how to make money how to make money but if you look at through the lens of X or seekers book then it kind of works for all of them right because every single opportunity everything you’re selling should be a new opportunity and it was anyway so I’m going to try to see if I can do that plus TJ so like this is he monsters company he lives out in Kansas and he actually bought a hospital and renovated the whole thing and that’s where he on that’s where he runs so company have an old hospital which is kind of cool I kind of want to go down there see his ville operations so it may come to an episode of fun rocket TV soon where I go down there and tour his hospital and see his his whole organization the last 10 years they sent out nine like ninety five hundred different direct mail campaigns which is crazy he says some people will get on his list and they may get between two and three hundred letters in the mail per year depending on what sequence they take what offers to say yes to and notes and all sorts of stuff so anyway it’s super inspiring but what I want to talk about is couple of core things I learned from him that he were really good for all you guys effect the first was actually not from TJ it was from Bill Glaser thing I was listening to so bill was partners Dan Kennedy at Glacier Kennedy and he was like my my marketing dad four and five or six years I was inner circle and one things was cool as studying from Bill this week Bill’s talking about how they have like the very in the year they know that they’re big things wrestle ated to events here they did info summit and super conference for me I do fall hacking lives like that’s my big king and they said they they categorized all the promotions based on the important so number one were there two events number two was this number three and then they have it all mapped out and then they mapped out the entire month or shooting the entire year the promotional schedule begin a year to make sure they fill the events and all the other things kind of fit in there now see that like what about you guys but I’m not super good at mapping out my promotional calendar and schedule and things like that I kind of just like go week by week month by month and do stuff and what bill does in this course again this is an old of course but he maps it out and then they do fit everything and so I started thinking about this one of our inner circle meetings Justin Williams was talking about with his with his step now is you guys know if you’ve been listening to our podcast for any length of time you know the two magic things that marketers have or urgency and scarcity so he started in his he really launched different courses throughout the year and they’d opened him and closed him right so they can have the urgency and scarcity close that’s where most of the cells always come in is during the closing of the thing also if you listen to in Stu launch try he’s talking about Michael Hyatt when they launched his membership site the big speaker they had was like opening and closing so the twice a year they opened up memberships items close I start think about that magnet like right now most of our programs are open all the time which is good but the urgency and scarcity is not there so I was like I think what I’m going to do is I’m gonna start calendaring it out we’re twice a year are things are available so twice a year people can buy CF can buy our certification program twice a year people can join formal University twice a year then get so your funnel twice you so I all of our core offers are only open two twice during the year and they’re closed down other than that which is kind of fun because they’ll have urgency and scarcity and build up the hype and the buzz and it just needs month something to focus on this month is funnel you month okay we’re going to open it and close it the next month is this is going to open it and close in all content all things can be related back to that that one thing so that was the first thing I kind of sorry thinking through on runs listen to Bill glacier talk about how they structured the promotion around their events I was that’s first cool thing now with TJ a couple cool things that he does I think man was just good for me to hear again I think it’s good for all you guys to hear again so TJ again he’s in the business opportunity market mostly through direct mail and so he has 50,000 letters emails every single week week in and week out just consistently they know 50,000 letters go out every single week all for new customer acquisition that’s it new customer acquisition 50,000 letters every single week and that’s just that’s the schedule and I think for a lot of us we get in this thing where like we have a friend and funnels our breakeven songs were moving people into me of our monetization funnels I think a lot of us we create one really good webinar funnel it’s a and then that becomes our focus and that’s it and we’re driving traffic and and that’s like the business right and tjp look at this again he’s got his front end lead gen offers and he’s the only 50,000 pieces a week and I said it at his peak you sell him he was selling $50 course from his front end lead gen stuff he said he would spend up to five hundred dollars to sell $50 course and then from there they go to all the back end funnels right and the back end things he was selling but had this consistency 50,000 pieces every single week I start thinking about that like man he’s milling 50,000 new names every single week but what’s the what’s the equivalent for my business okay I need to make sure that I have something consistently doing that every sin week to one front offer and he talked about one of the big things also is like he’s not mailing two different things or three things that 50 thousands like they’ve one offer the hottest converting one and that’s what drive all their energy all their money all everything and so for us I think all of us we have our hot offer we need to be spending as much as we can to get people into that thing consistently every somebody just knowing I spend 50 grand a week at 10 grand a week go thousand bucks a week whatever it is for you into that front end thing right if you break if you think about this if you break it down there’s kind of two sides of this there’s or three sides if you find how deep you want to get with we talked about this this upcoming funnel hacking live but there’s a process there’s basically kind of three types of enols there’s acquisition funnel so getting people in there’s Ascension funnels of sending them up within your your your membership and there’s monetization funnels but for this argument for today I’m going talk about – so there’s acquisition funnels right so so what is your one acquisition funnel you can consistently do X with right so for me might be I need to make sure I sell at least a thousand books a week or and you spend 10 grand a week or whatever that thing is for you right you snow that you get you have to do it consistently and we have still thousand books weekend that we should build a whole team people at entire gold sell thousand books a week or five thousand books whatever that numbers for you background I call center that’s how was we had free plus shipping leads and we had to get things eight thousand leads a month to get enough leads for ourselves floor if that became the focus of the business okay and so for you it’s like think about TJ right like what is the front end offers consistently bring people in cab and then from TJ like so crazy I hope and I can go down there and film his operation for us I want to see it too but like I said sue someone gets the front end then he’s got all these direct mail campaigns that go out offering to step things so he’ll send out a letter for free CD about whatever to these existing customers K so the only say that people who already had already bought his fifty dollar saying then I put them onto a sequence that says he gets free city if they if they respond to the free CD they put them a sequence to sell the things that free CD upsells to then he put sends out the next offer in the next offer and he’s putting out always front end lead gen I guess it gets like their acquisition or modernization letters to the buyers of it’s $50,000 weakening rights fifty thousand or a week ever since bringing people in and after they come and they bought $50 saying then you start sending these letters trying to get them to raise your hand about specific opportunities that he’s going to sell them and they if they respond on those then they go into a whole nother sequence they might get ten fifteen twenty letters to sell like a two or three or five thousand dollar course on the back end and that’s kind of this process that he does over and over and over and over again and so for me what I’m looking at what I want my focus to be is somebody comes in to my world and again I’m focusing way more effort consistently on this on this you know I’m gonna I’m going to call it the fifty thousand letters a week but you know for us we’re not doing direct mail right now so it’s not that but you know that that’s the concept the front-end league acquisition and then if they come in then we’re taking our core courses and we’re opening them and closing and opening and closing them opening and closing them throughout the year so those are our monetization funnels after people come in and so that’s kind of kind of the game and I’m really excited for so that’s the game I’m gonna be playing and I hope you guys model model that the other cool thing we’ll be doing and think a lot about this for last two weeks started scout campus and I might even here as we’ve been in this beach house is is having like one really good follow-up funnel sequence that takes people through my offers in a very strategic way so we have ignite ignite your funnel comm which is right now we’re using something pleat different let me change that to where this is an opt-in form believe people opt-in to and then it’s can take them through sequence where and I haven’t quite mapped whole thing out but firstly I want them to buy is what my business firstly was funded by his extra secret something they have a video me explaining why they need expert secrets and wise to step number one actually set them step back step in one’s not cutting the book someone is going to be on the podcast she has heard a little while ago the the two episodes on your one funnel and I’m going to show that video to build connection with people immediately after they opt-in and then from there I’ll film get expert secrets book and then from there say what they need next now logically build out a really long sequence it’s going to be this this ascension funnel that takes them up through our core offers in the middle and then the big thing that our teams can be focusing on is our KPI it’s how many opt-ins a day are we getting inside of the about your funnel funnel ignite your funnel ascension funnel so send them through all of our offers right and I’m pretending I was hoping all works together it might be when someone opts in the very first time they go through this Ascension funnel that all those offers will be open to them open and close like like an evergreen format and then after the bump up to monetization funnels or mud it you know like our longer-term email sequences which then they’ll be on when we open and close them each each month not positive yet on that so figuring out all details just but it’s fun to think through it right anyway so that’s kind of game plan so those are some fun things I learned and thinking about well I’ve been here having some fun in Kauai on my 15 year anniversary so I hope that gives you guys some ideas and some things to think about so kind of recap the important things number one is focusing on consistent just consistently bringing new blood into your business okay fifty thousand letters a week rule let’s call that fifty thousand letters a week rule consistently bringing new blood in okay i’m eric garrett white last funnel hacking lot to talk about people can make it rain the rainmakers are the ones who this world in this business so you’ll be focusing on making it rain if you want to learn how to make it rain right now the program is number one then number two is in as they come in then what’s the monetization so maybe number two is the ascensions funnel which is for me than that ignite your phone takes them through our offers in a chronological order of where I want them to see things opening and closing on like an evergreen format and then that then put them into our monetization team – Jason funnels which would then be taking our course six offers and opening closing them twice a year and that’s going to be the business that gets me really excited really really excited so anyway that’s the game plan guys I’m glad I had a chance talks out to you guys it’s making it clear clear in my mind so I hope you guys got something some value that – like I said I don’t practice I don’t just talk about kinda stuff I practice what I preach so you’ll see me implementing these things in the very near future and hopefully as I see them and you’ll enjoy them and you will model them and funnel hacking for it you guys are gym coz I know this that’s going to be amazing so that’s why I got you guys anyway here’s one last view this is the beach house we’ve been staying in it was an Airbnb we’re gonna get a hotel and we looked at Airbnb and we found this every beer VR be our cameras won the states like 5000 square feet my wife and I are up here brent amber are over here there’s all open space and there’s even like huge guest house we’re here we got massages in the other day that’s crazy and then we’re literally this was like this is our Beach it’s just ours and it’s crazy I was flying the quadcopter today I learned how to find a class quadcopter check it out over everything so if you’re watching put on a TV hopefully you are you’ll have a chance to see above this place and beyond but it’s it’s insane it’s probably a little expensive but for 15 and verse 3 you go all out right look at that that’s our beach we rented these paddle boards to I guess be listening on the podcast you can’t see this but a welcome hey dude thanks for having me it’s a pleasure I am so so excited to have you on this is one of those things we you and I first met and actually a sense of time together phone hacking live and as you were as we awarded you the two comma Club slack and I heard your story I was so so excited for you because you’re a man who does never ever quit and never ever gives up and I thought you know what people need to see what it takes at times to succeed when you literally have absolutely you burned all the bridges and you make sure that no matter what I’m going to make this thing happen so real quick I want you to die then it’s kind of tell you to tell the story you told me at frontal hacking life about how you basically went from being a homeless to one of our two comma Club winners he had a super emotional is awesome I remember texting my mom and I was just like you know I was just kind of reminding of the story I mean yes I was wasn’t take a step back you know in my life I feel that life is composed of different orbs right like you have your spiritual health you have your physical health you have your relationship health and you have like what you do on a day to day basis like your why like your job um for me in my life all of those orbs were like not even crushed they were like pulverized right I was super unhealthy I was like 60 pounds overweight I was this toxic relationship wasn’t very like spiritual or like you know the meditation stuff and I hated what I did for a living so it’s just not it’s not like one thing was wrong like I was driving a four-song their car maybe one cylinder is bad but I was driving for you know Ryan’s on this and the gas tank was full of like you know water um so I just honestly I got to power I broke as a person I literally broke I I ended up I literally ended up at the hospital um and I frankly I should have died to be honest with you not to get graphic but I really should have I feel like I would say I feel like there was divine intervention and I feel I was saved immediately I took very serious advantage of that I dropped kind of all my bad habits and I started fixing all these orbs I started getting healthy I lost 50 pounds I moved on to a much much healthier relationship I started like meditating be more spiritual arm and you know praying and stuff and everything was going well now I’m like well on the road to recovery but you know what was still like messed up is I hated what I did for a living at the time I was in our retail and I hate retail I call it mainly it honestly I heard some handmade prints because you’re stuck in this box or they’re nothing but angry customers all the thought of it are customers to think that they’re right so every day every day I’m searching searching and matter of fact I was searching on Craigslist every single day I wanted something to do something different finally I bumped into some online offering it was like a like an online franchise I suppose I guess in the realm of like network marketing but not not so much and it was about selling digital products online and the second I saw that day honestly I felt like the dude um Keanu Reeves from like the matrix right I just saw everything clearly like for the first time in my life you know I saw like a big red call-to-action and like I know why that’s red I know why that’s there and I saw this big testimony in like I know I that’s there I know why that person smiling in that picture like I can just si no experience in the stuff that I just saw and I’m like this is what I want to do I have to be involved in this um but I was like you know I’m just recovering from almost dying in Oscars I have nothing to my name um and I literally only have one eye I would have nothing to my name but this time I had left everything right and I went to and I migrated West to California and I was looking for an office oddly enough I had no money for an office I don’t have no idea why I was looking for an also season end up in dislike back road you know industrial building in some weird area in the off skirts of San Francisco and she’s giving me the tour of the building I’m like I have no idea why I’m even on this tour and at the end of the tour it’s like it was like a movie there was like this dark corner there I hate and like this door I’m like what’s that over there and she’s looking at me weird like what she’s like that’s the electrical room that’s where we house the wires for all the phones in the building and I said can I see it and she’s looking at me like what like ok so I guess so she takes me in there it’s a size like a decent walk-in closet you know like that someone will have in their home there’s all wires everywhere exposed vents no windows look it looked like a jail from a third-world country and I was like ELISA and I just told him I stretch to listen I have no money I had to pick oh I’m looking for a fresh light can I live here and lucky for me she was like this old school hippie and she looked at me weird she’s like I’m sure obsession oh she felt for me she’s like sure there’s a hundred it like a hot like around $100 a month utilities included so no windows no showers no bathroom to shave or to wash my face I had to take a hot plate put a pot of water eat it up and kind of wash up and kind of you know use like some reflection of something as a bird of I had a cardboard box as like coffee that’s how I was living you know and yeah so then I discovered this I wanted to be on I wanted to get online I want to start my online business but as you know Dave you need a little bit of seed money to start right but I’m not Here I am in a shoe closet you know with no windows not any money I have one asset to my name a beat-up 1986 I mean real beat-up old Mercedes and it’s not nearly as awesome at that sound okay it was what I was worth $2,000 and I sold it and and people are telling I’m crazy because I at this point don’t have a job I don’t have any money like you need a car to get around try to like interview for jobs and you know try to make it happen I was because you know I was living like the middle of Noah and I did I just burnt the bridge I just literally burnt the ship down as well you know what they call and I said no I’m all-in and I went in with this mentality day but you know I’m all-in and I’m just going to make this have been in a fight and there’s no fail here like I’m just I’m cashing in all my chips and I took that $2,000 Dave and um you know I I got into that business and guess what my first month on the phone every single day on every single day talking to potential clients every single day not a single sale not a single cell for a whole month for a whole month and this is where I am witnessing day there were 99 10 people just as a matter of fact probably that the first week so they just they just give up and they go back to the job or whatever it is or they always try something else but and that was me but I I’ve failed and my business is way before you know before and I love that was me but this time I mentality my mindset was totally different so I said to myself date you know what the phone’s ringing I can Gary’s online daily I’m just not closing so it’s not the system that’s wrong and I find most people blaming the system it’s something I’m doing something wrong because I’m getting the least I’m just not closing so guess what I tweaked my closing my my script I tweaked my script and guess what ah I closed my first sale and I remember as I always did hi tickets of embers 500 ollars and then next month I closed to sales and then I made a thousand a month and then 2001 three thousand a book then 10 then 20 to 30 to get book all fed up it up and here we are today and it all goes back to selling that receeded that living in that closet it’s been a while journey I feel very blessed to refer to it you know I am I was so so excited when we were sitting there in Dallas and you showed me your phone and I saw the text to your mom and I just I got so emotional because I’m the father of four boys and a beautiful wife and I can only imagine how your mom must have felt knowing where you come from and just the excitement of seeing you holding up picture of a – comical plaque and having gone literally from homeless in a closet yeah basically getting those kind of numbers I I felt so much compassionate excitement and love just for you as an individual I thought you know what your monsters got to be so so proud yeah a lot of tears flow a lot of tears okay well congratulations and it gives everyone else I highly highly recommend that you guys just follow our example and just make it happen just go for it again this is we’re going to wrap this episode up here as far as our internet marketing gurus and then most importantly has figured out anything and everything there is to do with email autoresponders so Dave MS welcome to the show thanks for having me dance I appreciate it I am so excited this is uh one of those crazy things where you were introduced to me through a mutual friend I know we’ve kind of both been in space for a long-ass time across and I’m so excited to kind of find out more about your story kind of what you’ve been doing I know that we were talking earlier offline basically here as far as getting autoresponder analytics

I know it’s your company up and running connected with quick funnels but in the mean time I know a lot of people would love to know kind of your story especially since you started off kind of as the web designer for a lot of these internet marketing gurus if you don’t mind helping a little about your backstory and how it relates to them as far as other quintals users sure sure sure sure so um you know I think my story kind of relates similar to you know pretty much everybody that’s using ClickFunnels™ or every internet marketer you know like I was in a really crappy job

and I’m gonna try to keep this PG as PG as possible just for because I know Russell so uh you know I I was in a really crappy job the year was it’s like 99 early 2000 like 1999 and I was working have you ever seen the movie wolf of Wall Street ah I haven’t seen it but I’ve heard a lot about it yeah so you know most people know the movie so I used to do that for work in my early 20s that’s like my gosh so like yeah like what you see in the movie like I actually lived it and experienced it and I was like 21 at the time 22 and I you know I didn’t know what I was doing I kind of just got swept up into it and it was amazing I got the best sales education I could ever ask for but I hated my job you

Know like some ones that make good money some months I wouldn’t you know and when if you see the movie there are certain scenes where you know like people lose all their money and you know the brokers are like hiding under the desks Hido yeah and yeah those days were not fun so I got out of that to do internet stuff you know this is like when the dot-com boom was starting like 99 2000 I was like okay I’m going to make websites and I literally like walked into the office the next day and told the bosses I’m going to quitting like a six-figure job to uh those make.

Websites and they looked at me like I was not and so yes I started doing that and I started started building websites I started learning how to do that and I ended up going to advertising school and um you know one thing led to another and I just started going down this rabbit hole of how to make money on the internet you know and you know back then I don’t know if you can relate to this but like I’m real big into sports and when I first started on the computer on. the internet I didn’t know what to do I was like where do you go what do you do you know this is like mm back then.

I would just go to like espn.com and you know one thing led to another and I started just finding out stuff about making money on the internet but I had no idea how I was going to do it you know I wasn’t an expert at anything I was just building websites so I started you know just posting on these marketing forums and stuff and I started getting clients I had no idea who they were but it turned out that some of them were really big you know internet marketers guys like Armand Morin alex mandossian Mark Victor Hansen I did some work for Mark Joyner Rick Schaffer and I started doing work for all these internet marketers and I was like I would literally bug these guys like night after night especially armand morin because he was like a night owl so I just bugged the hell out of this guy asking them a million question.

I you know I didn’t know how they were making all this money I wasn’t great at writing copy I wasn’t good at driving traffic or any of that stuff you know I was just gonna you know designing cool stuff so I said okay like I was spending a lot of time on the computer and you know like we mentioned earlier I was 28 or 29 at the time and I was spending a lot of time on the computer and I was single so I started doing online dating this is like early 2000 2001 and I did it for a few years and I ended up getting real really good at it to the point where I was never able to see my friends because I always had to dig fun and one thing led to another.

I said you know what I’m gonna make a product about this you know and I never thought in a million years I’d make a product about dating you know I always thought I was going to be expert in the dating niche oh yeah yeah so I was doing like online dating matcom and stuff like that and you know obviously it’s all through email so I got really really good at you know figuring out how to get people to do things to email how to make women to respond through email.

How to get them curious how to get them to want to go out with me how do you know send me their phone numbers all these things that guys were usually having problems with I figured out and I started feeling a course on it so it was like 2005 early 2005 I had met a guy online in one of these marketing groups and it turns out he was working for somebody that was in the dating niche this guy that was doing 20 million dollars a year evident aegon sure knowwho Evan so he had this 20 million dollar dating business.

He said I’m going to you know I’m going to hook you up with an interview he wants the interview because I told them what you were doing so long story short we do this interview and they say okay we’ll let you know when it’s going to come out probably out in a couple of months so like two or three weeks go by it’s a Saturday morning I hop on my computer with a big hangover and there’s like 800 emails and they all say the same thing basically in one form another like we went to that we heard the interview went  to the site there’s nothing there.

I emailed these guys back I’m like what interview what web sites remember I’ve got like two more three months of you know time I could make this product so you know but it was basically they released this interview without telling me a couple weeks later so I had all these emails I had no website so I spent the whole weekend putting this website together and now I had this email list so I was getting these emails not a lot I mean maybe like a thousand or you know I think at when I launched I had seventeen hundred and eighty-eight emails so not like a ton of emails.

But I had nothing to sell them and I had a Mac and this is like 2005 there was no Camtasia for Mac there was no ScreenFlow so I had to borrow a friend’s computer who had a PC he was out partying all weekend and I would record these you know videos I made this product but the whole time I had to stall this list I said if I don’t send many emails you know the solicitors going to get cold and then I’m going to ruin this real good opportunity so mind you I had $2,000 to my name at that point I was living upstairs for my folks trying different things you know nothing was really working.

Uh you know this was kind of like do-or-die time at that point Cory knows either like go get a job or you know this is going to work so I put the put the site up I wrote the sales letter myself because I only had two grand you know to my name at that point I couldn’t afford a copywriter so I put it up and lo and behold it went absolutely nuts the first day I did like 38 grand before stay showing one DVD is awesome and I remember going downstairs to my parents and like my parents were home that day and I remember going I’m like that I just made my 5 grand didn’t flinch and went back upstairs came back you know couple hours like I’m at what 12 grand didn’t flinch came back to when I hit like 18 grand that’s kind of like when he started like taking notice he’s like what are we doing and you know like people don’t know what we do and it you know like intermembrane.

Okay like it was like in one ear out the other ear totally didn’t get it and you know like for somebody that’s never experienced that before I’m sure some people that are watching this or listening to this have some people haven’t you know at this point you know I went from 2 grand to 38 grand in my account in like one day and I knew it that’s what my life was never going to be the same you know it’s it’s crazy it’s like a life-changing moment and you’re like.

Russell says you’re literally just one fun all the way you know it’s not like a like I will Ryan it’s really really true so for the first 5 years that business did about nine hundred and thirty thousand dollars with no ad spend that was all profit which was really really awesome I mean crazy I’m a million you know I was a millionaire within 5 years you know which is nuts now it sounds great but that was like probably about 200 maybe 200 250 grand a year which is a good.

Income you know it’s a good good living so it’s not like I was sitting there making a million dollars a year you know little bit of little bit of very different context but three weeks after I launched that site my dad got sick with that Liz stage four cancer so for everybody that’s listening you want to talk about the highest of highs and the lowest of lows I mean you really don’t get yeah I mean and you know it’s just a life lesson you know sometimes things happen in life and you really can’t control them.

So I literally went from having this raging monster of a website of an offer that was making money like hand over fist to I don’t have the desire or time or energy or like mental capacity to you know to grow it or deal with it because I’ve got like you know the most important person in my life my dad you know so that was like a really stressful time and I really had to figure out ways to make money with the business while not having to be there because we were literally like fighting for my dad life it was really really serious so you know I really.

Made all my money through email I had to figure out ways to like set it and forget it or you know because I was in the hospital all day I was at you know doctors this treatment that was nuts so it did really well but you know obviously I’m you know I’m on two different extremes here three three years after my dad passed well my dad passed away two years after that in 2007 – three years after that my mom got breast cancer in 2007 gosh yeah and luckily knock on wood they prodded early and you know and she’s okay but you know within a five-year period to lose my dad to cancer it was perfectly healthy before and then having my mom get it it was you know it’s crazy crazy crazy time you.

Know probably not in a good way but you know um the whole time I really made all of my money through email I suck at paid traffic I I tried SEO and I got my site banned in 2011 so I gave up with that because it was too slow I wasn’t getting any results so out of all these years of email marketing what what’s that boil down to what I mean you’ve got I mean you’re crashing it being able to work I mean just hard tile because your take care of every else so oh my god yeah yeah so I figured out there was like five kinds of emails that I was sending out like five very specific.

Styles of emos that it was kind of sending that I didn’t really see too many people were sending and I kind of figured okay these are the five styles like I was doing QA emails so I got that from one guy that I was following and I would send out like weekly Kuna emails I would collect all the emails that my subscribers were sending me and instead of messaging them privately I would just send them like a whole like a long Q&A email this was really good because it’slike social proof you know like I’m hoping them answering their questions.

I’m giving them value and at the end I have a little pitch for my stuff and I would send these out every week and these would work really good and then in between there I would send out these like really short curiosity based emails so you wouldn’t have a you wouldn’t really know what they were or what it was about but you’d click through and so I started adding in all these different styles of emails because I think what happens is for most people is they get stuck doing the same style of email.

When your subscribers catch on to what you’re doing so to speak that that era of mystery is gone that mystique is gone and when you lose that you lose kind of the the mojo if you will so you always want to keep your subscribers kind of like on their toes not knowing what to expect I love that idea curiosity has always been one of the main things for us as and anything we’ve ever built curiosity is by far the the headline to get to open the most it’s going to ages people the most and I love that idea well here’s to rip off of that so if I was doing that for a while.

What I noticed is I was probably hitting a certain segment of my list and I was missing other segments in my list you see like people you know they talk about different modalities like people respond differently based on the modalities some people do they respond better when they seat on something right like a video example some people do better when they hear it and other people when they read it and experience it well kind of feel like people are like that as well as far as their emails some people respond better to curiosity based messages other people I found respond better to fact-based messages other people respond better to story based messages and other people respond better to urgency.

Scarcity based messages so you’re really hitting different like I wouldn’t even call it modalities but different segments of your market okay like maybe there’s people that are very analytical the engineers the scientists the doctors on your lists well they don’t maybe they don’t respond well to urgency they don’t respond well to curiosity but when you hit them with a fact-based email they can’t dispute it and they’re there you know they buy in droves so when you’re starting your list buy that kind of stuff or not numbers I’m actually not I’m kind of ghetto with that maybe you know I’m not as technical as I probably need to be with that but you know I’m sure most people are like that as well but I just.

Write different styles of emails so like if I’m doing a like a promotion campaign first email I’ll do like a real curiosity based email the next email I’ll do more of a fact-based email and then from the relative scarcity or story scarcity Bergin see tip you know to end the campaign and it just kind of gives you like a framework of kind of what – how to write the email you know so it’s not like what to write it’s okay I’ve got to write an email based on you know to sell ClickFunnels™ but it’s all based on facts so you’re going to talk about oh you’re saving time you’re saving this you.

know all the specific things you know and if this works amazing amazing I can’t tell you that the difference you know that that this made and again it’s all giving your stuff any of your teeth though so those people are listening to hear one more time sighs what breakdown as far as what the different styles are again so the one of them will do is curiosity based the second email I’ll send out would be fact-based then I’ll send out one story based and then a scarcity and then urgency – to end the campaign love that I’m looking at like five emails in a campaign you know you

Can send this out Monday through Friday boom you have your week affiliate promotion or product promotion or whatnot and uh yeah I mean it works works amazingly well fantastic so tell me with all the obviously them blowing millions of emails by now or some any other conversion types of things that are tips and tricks that our listeners listening to be implementing their business so like this is going to be so basic but I mean this literally like was a game changer for me but was really mailing my list more often okay and I found so so Allison I go because that’s I.

Always say you know for years I was always doing like two or three a week because I didn’t want to like overload them I don’t want to bother them and then there was a period of time after my dad was sick and my mom was you know kind of wishy washy with everything and I didn’t email my list for a few months and it was almost like they forgot about me and like we always we always think like are they always remember us and they care and they don’t really care you know if you look at your Gmail box right now in two days the whole page is going to be completely different and you’re probably going to forget about any of those emails that were on that page today.

So your Prospects are like this too you know we think that they care as marketers but they you know they you know they’re overwhelmed or just like we are so right you have to mail frequently okay I’m a lever II day every single day sometimes I mail twice a day when I started emailing every day my revenues went up probably like 2 or 3 X just for mailing every day and it’s so stupid I have got friends of a niche I’ve got one friend who I mean this guy’s the king of sending emails I mean it blows me away I think he sent two or three a day maybe four sometimes every day they’re

Still in the dating niche yeah so it’s still in a dating niche however I needed to get some legitimacy because I’m married and still you know I just wanted to not tell people that I was imitating bitch anymore so that’s in like 12 years already so I started a golf offer like two two years ago and I’ve got an old friend of mine from high school that found me on Facebook saw me on some internet marketing DVDs and couldn’t sell this golf product so we rebranded it rebuilt it put a whole email system kind of like what I’m talking to you now and yeah I mean it’s crushing I think it’s.

Like the number one offer on Clickbank for for golf crazy so how often you email a golf list the golfing is it you know believe it or not it’s completely automated it completely at this point so it’s got like a 30-day sequence for non-buyers and and then if they don’t buy they get moved into a different sequence where they’re getting a mix of content video you know YouTube videos and offers affiliate offers and then once they buy there’s a another 30-day sequence which so the more stuff gets them to consume the product give them more bonuses etc so to that business literally.

For me is hands-free at this point it’s just all split testing the funnel and Facebook ads that’s fantastic so I know you with autoresponder analytics when did you start that well I got the idea a few years ago is that a seminar if you got you know the guys mind valley.com of course I’m sure I’m sure you know they’re like a huge like eight figure your company so I was at a marketing seminar and I the guy from mind values ition he’s the the CEO he was on stage.

Speaking and he was talking about how they keep track of their emails and I was like my ears perked up at this point because you know anything email so he you know they had it slide with an Excel spreadsheet like I should like a graphic and he’s like this is how we keep track of all of our emails I have like my virtual assistants they spend like two or three hours a day going between all these different systems and they put it on his spreadsheet I’m thinking like are you crazy like these guys are doing like eight figures a year there’s got to be some kind of software that does

This and I asked I asked him afterwards and he said no there’s nothing we haven’t found anything that did it and uh oh my god I was in spreadsheet hell as well I had v A’s doing the same thing they were doing I hired guys off of Elance and up work to make these like complex spreadsheets but I had no clue how to use and I tried $500 a month software you know that they would charge you to like do like an onboarding thing so it was not it was horrible so you know I had this idea I did this you know I bought this domain name and I never did anything with it kind of like

Everybody does like most people do right so I was at a mastermind I this guy at another marketing seminar again you’ll hear the constant theme marketing seminars yeah go to as many marketing seminars as possible you have to you have to if you’re serious about this business you have to that will two or three extra business by going to events so I met this guy in the hallway at one of the events turns out he was a speaker at the event I was at and he shared his story how he went from like nothing to making like 500 million dollars and this guy’s like 33 years old so we

Struck up a friendship and we kept in touch and I mean for me by far I mean like by far I come from a very blook my dad was a mechanic my mom worked in the department store so I’m very very middle-class family for me to meet somebody like that was that was like life-altering to me you know awesome like I mean that was like so amazing and I think people think people come into your life for different reasons things everything happens you know in life for different different reasons you know like my dad passed away I don’t know why it happened but it helped bring me

Closer to my mom and my sister so that’s the that’s the benefit that was the blessing from that right with this guy I don’t know why he was brought into my life but at this mastermind he asked me what are you working on and I told him this idea that I just told you about this you know this stem seminar that I had I saw on my frustrations with emails and stuff and he I told him out the software idea I had and he said this is a really good idea you know the market needs it you need to build it I was like really cuz you know if you have your ideas and he wants it in and you know

You just have like you’re crazy ten o’clock at night serious idea but to hear confirmation from a guy to Swartz five hundred million dollars that’s done this before and saying it gets build it so I’d never built software in my life before and uh sketched it all out on my journal and took pictures of my iPhone and I started sending them to different developers I was interviewing and I found one group of developers that really got it and understood it and that was two years ago so it it literally took two years to build yeah that’s awesome congratulations thank you thank you it’s been a long long crazy crazy rift well that’s awesome well I note where the process you guys you look at some

Eric’s aka copywriting professor or the my favorite actually is the world’s wealthiest goat farmer so Dana welcome to the show excited to have you thank you Dave I’m so so excited to just join a fellow goat farmer and have a great discussion about goats that’s the whole purpose of this podcast hopefully by the end of this podcast more people will be farming goats so that’s the whole reason this is Dana is one of those guys in fact I don’t I’d love to have you talk more about it but I got to brag about two here real quick and that is we had the opportunity out of Dana at our inner circle meeting in and he was up there talking about the ability to sell a two thousand dollar book which we’re going to get to in just a minute but before we go there you didn’t start talking about well if you guys would help me with this and just basically send out a Facebook message to a lot of our inner circles that just put in you love goats and all of a sudden what happened is I started getting all these crazy things in the mail which we’re going to dive in and talk about here in just a few minutes but all that’s a privilege what we’re to discuss first of all Dana help people understand who you are and give us some background story on you awesome so I in a previous lifetime was born with a gift to of writing so for a number of years I did copywriting for hire and then got into goat farming made a bunch of money and then now I’m and then I got introduced into a guy named Russell Brunson I read every single thing and I listened everything he said and then all of a sudden I made a bunch of money and now and then I came up to Boise like the craziest coolest experience I’ve ever had in my life and I got to hang out with guys like Dave and the whole team and things are just exploding for me now so and I’m here so you guys have to understand data is by far one of the best copywriters I see I mean I’ve met a lot of great coffee writers and Duffing taking away from Russell but I could tell your coffee is amazing and I think you totally have a gift for it so real quick help people understand why coffee is so important so uh no matter what like no matter how marketing evolves copy and like words are always going to be there whether so for a long time you know it was long-form sales letters that’s what like got people to buy stuff and now is transitioning into like video right so what’s happening while you’re still reading for the most part you’re still using words from a script or you know just words in general so words and copy like are always going to be what gets people to do things and what gets people to do things is what’s going to make you money and get you successful so the sooner you can adopt investing in copy whether that’s words or written or spoken the sooner you’re going to have a lot of success that at least that’s what I’ve found and let me just kind of quantify what type of success that we’re talking about here I know anybody out there who has sold a book at a higher price point than you have and that’s what amazing they want to help people understand is because of your copywriting skills and your 3/100 skills by far some of the coolest ream 100 stuff I’ve ever seen what gets you in just a second help people understand what price point you’re selling a book act okay so my one of my boats sells for $2,500 a copy I can got a rake sure if people understood what you just said that’s $2,500 for one book that’s correct but shipping is free [Laughter] now see you guys different you get $500 versus a free book with 795 shipping an amp so exactly so help people understand how does that funnel work how do you how do you sell a twenty five hundred dollar book great question so um I’m gonna I’ll try to make this as quick as possible but it’s hard because there’s like here’s the thing a sale of any sort is not everyone thinks it’s a single event it’s not like it’s like marriage okay so a $2,500 book is a lot like getting married okay so you don’t just on the first date drop on your knee and propose and then expect to have a pretty good conversion rate on you know however many women you’re asking versus how many say yes that’s the same thing as a twenty five hundred books so what you have to do you have to date them for a long time you have to get engaged and then you have to like stay sane and like make sure that they still like you by the time the day the wedding comes and then once they’ve inked a deal for the marriage that’s when the twenty five hundred our book actually is sold and you get the money and then you send it so what I do is there’s a lot of build up to that so there’s a pretty long runway so I sell them cheaper stuff along the way so I don’t try to go from zero to twenty five hundred because that’s really really difficult that takes a lot of like effort in a lot of say selling I prefer to give them like a four hundred dollar book first that kind of touches on it and then they love it don’t but stick it in our dollar book ya know but it’s well it’s reasonable isn’t it I don’t know I wonder and then I get them a thousand dollar book and they get an ROI from that and they freaking love it and then they’re like dude I want more like give me the next thing and then I’m like oh sure here there’s a twenty five hundred dollar one and then and then I stopped at that point but I think I could probably go higher so I really want to make sure if you guys who are listening here understand this the funnel here is a four hundred dollar book a one thousand dollar book any $2,500 book these for a lot of you guys are mostly guys request size you know high ticket type of secrets and things and Danny you are the master excel in this kind of stuff so if you my drops of value Bob’s here for people as far as how what’s involved in that type of a funnel totally appreciate the analogy as far as getting married the dating aspect the first kiss the engagement all that kind stuff help people understand more detail what type of stuff do they really need to be thinking about when they’re looking to sell high ticket stuff awesome question so the first thing is you got to have the mindset right okay so the people that I sell to right now like they got a lot of money right so I don’t try and sell this stuff to broke people and then number two like the people that I’m selling to they put their pants on the same way that I do or that you do or anybody else so what gets these people my people that are buying my stuff to buy my stuff is the same stuff to get you and your people to buy your stuff like it’s literally no different just because there’s a zero or two behind my prices all the selling and all everything else is the exact same I promise you okay so get out of your own way raise your prices if you think this if you think this stuff is expensive then you are selling yourself too short that’s the first thing the second thing is you have to be really really intentional about it Kay so just because somebody lands on your page and doesn’t buy it that doesn’t mean that that’s the end of the road right remember it’s a process so you have to follow up with them right these are leads that you’re like spending money for in time on on there was one time I read the average you get like I think seven or eight knows before you get a yes right so when they’re telling you no I’m not saying you have to pound them and and you know you know browbeat them but I’m just saying sometimes when they object it’s not because they’re not interested it’s just because they’re not totally convinced yet that what you have is what they need so what I do is I really really really make sure that they fully understand what it is that the value that I’m parlaying to them and what they’re getting out of my books before they turn around and walk away from them right because Russell talks about this you guys like it is our duty and obligation like our moral obligation if we know what we have is good we’ll help them we have to make sure that they understand that and that they give it a chance so I literally just follow Russell’s lead and I take that mentality and I just deploy it and follow up pretty well and that’s about it I love it I can tell you that it’s fascinating for me I remember back to the old Dan Kennedy days sitting there basically his idea was so you could the whole object afar so anything high-ticket is if you can do without without a lot of smiling or laughing if you keep a straight face when you’re asking it but obviously the most important thing is you have to have value and your content is crazy cool I mean you can’t sell crap at a high ticket price and think that you’re going to get anything it’s every to last and have happy customers your constants amazing love your books and it’s just so detailed and so many action steps that little bit the person’s going through it and the way you write your books have been fan chat we’re really selling through the book as well to the next next opportunity and again goes back a lot of things we talked about at the very beginning gain and that is gear to again you’re the copywriting professor you have little years of great copy your headlines in your chapter headlines are just spent so engaging I remember I think it was on your book I think as chapter 13 or something as far as the your dream 100 where I was just so captivated by I don’t shouldn’t just have copy here but it was one of those things where I was like oh my gosh this is just exactly what I wanted to see and I’d really skip all the way to that chapter that’s the chapter one and it just soul beyond the rest of the book so amazing copy thank you I really appreciate that but with that I want to talk a little bit about how you have deployed this dream 100 strategy because this is one of things I get so much crap about from so many people say well gosh you guys always talk about dream 100 it’s not a good traffic strategy can’t really make money off that you got to do space book I’m like dude if you guys understand the dream 100 and how it really works and you by far fact I think the last copy I just got from you was you basically sold 82 or 88 of the 100 this and again Russell’s inner circle is limited to 100 so I mean it was a perfect your dream 100 was Russell’s inner circle and I think he sold 82 or 88 of us that inner circle yeah I got a couple more I gotta finish off what worked very well like I guess so I will just clear the air completely and I hope you’re okay with me giving away literally probably my biggest nugget of all time when it comes a dream 100 I love it okay so this changed my life so who I got to give all the credit first to Russell Brunson the person that introduced me to the concept and then I read through Chet Holmes like who I think invented it and then I was like yeah that’s cool but I like Russell’s were like version way better and then I just thought about it and it’s like okay think of so I listed out literally my dream 100 and it was like dream 300 in end up being but I just looked at the top 10 and I looked at the number one so this is what I want anybody listening to this to do right now list out the top five okay that come to mind like literally the top 5 not like five really good ones but like the top best five that you could possibly partner with and then let’s look at number one how much this what you have to ask yourself how much money I’m dropping the biggest value bomb ever right here how much money is it worth to land a deal with that person okay for me personally if I were to land let’s just I’ll just throw this out there I’ll do a little pre framing if I were to land to deal with Russell Brunson that’s got to be worth at least one two three million dollars at least so here’s why that’s important I can spend up to 1 million dollars to acquire Russell Brunson as a dream 100 affiliate and still be profitable do you know how much crap I can send them in the mail and still be profitable like I’ve never seen a better ROI ever on anything ever I love it I absolutely love it the best thing is so I’ve got ugly Russell down at the same office here and so it’s funny for me to compare my the letters I get from you and the letters that Russell gets from you because they’re a little bit different and I think it’s it’s really cool to see how you customize your dream 100 letters because a lot of us are send out the exact same letter to everybody but you’ve done an amazing job of really customizing how you actually send those dream 100 so if you mine at what kind of these go through the goat farmer mentality here as far as you dream 100 for your book if you’re okay with that absolutely absolutely so correct me if I’m wrong but I think it started off on a Facebook challenge to the inner circle is that right yep yep so once you kind of fill it in to tell us step by step what happened okay so it started off with I created like some demand for my core product okay which for for in this example was my 2500 odd book that teaches people how to sell their books for what they’re actually worth right so I created a demand for it and then I basically went into the Facebook group for the Russell’s inner circle and I’m like hey if anybody wants a copy of my 2500 dollar book you gotta just post in here that you love goats comment on it and all of a sudden bang like 60 plus people started confessing their love for goats on that post and it just kind of like spread like crazy so that was step one so going to yep just keep going through and I’m excited to find my goat while you do it I’m going oh man oh man okay so step that was step one step two now when the this is when the fun begins because I’m sending everything in the mail now so step two they so they requested a book they’re expecting a book to show up right well guess what I didn’t send them a book at least not yet the first package I sent out contained so everything has a letter accompanying it right so the letter explains what the wacky thing inside the box is why it’s relevant and then the secret sauce is that the letter also kind of nonchalantly pushes them toward where that where I want them to go next so the first package Dave did you want to spoil that one yes I would I want to throw everything out here so people understand how cool yourself with okay so um so the first box did not contain the book that they thought they were getting it contained a little mr. miyagi action figure and a copy of The Karate Kid DVD and basically the gist so that was like the whole wax on wax off thing like that’s what the books going to do so like the book is going to be mr. Miyagi and then you are the Karate Kid so when the book tells you to wax on and wax off you better do it right just like The Karate Kid so that was just kind of building some suspense like holy crap like I didn’t like what is this stuff and then they’re like oh wow like I’m going to check my mailbox every single day now because I’m really really really looking for this book which I thought was really cool because you actually said hey I’m sending you something next it wasn’t just dusty it yeah so you said I’m going to send you something that so what was the next thing you sent out yes so then they got the book but in its and it’s kind of funny the way like we package things we really were intentional about it like we want it like we always before we send it we open it ourselves and see okay this is what I would look at first so the next thing was on top of the book the book was in this one so it’s a bigger box but it was on the way bottom on top of the book was a book light okay so like not another crappy like dollar store one but in like a pretty decent one and so they pull out the book light and they’re okay they’re like what is this I didn’t order book light and then they pull off the like brown paper and they see the book and it’s like whoa and then in the letter then you always have to reference the wacky thing so in the letter I’m basically saying like here’s a book light because I want to follow up with you in a week and you better have read this book because guess what I’m not going to like like saying that you had to sleep or anything it’s not going to be a good enough excuse like here’s a book light for you and you can sleep when you’re dead I want you to rehab this book read by next week and I think the coolest part about it is every part of the copy that you were writing was to take action and you’re training people to take action you’re training people with the Karate Kid mr. Miyagi listen you’re going to act on you’re going to wax off but it’s going to teach you how to do that the very next package as soon as you get it listen there’s no excuse there’s absolutely none in fact here’s the book like so you can literally start right now and don’t stop go all night long if you need you the batteries are there it’ll keep you going you look and read throughout the night so you can finish this book and so you’re teaching people the whole time through your team 100 of taking massive action so what’s the International yeah so and then the cool thing too about that is like if they don’t take the action they’re going to feel like kind of a a jerk because look at what I’ve already done for them you know so um they’re they’re kind of already invested and then so the books already got there that’s what they thought they’re getting and now the fun really really begins because now they get a third package that they weren’t they really weren’t expecting because they already got the book right so the third package and this is a little bit crazy but um it’s so I got this idea because like my dad lives in Texas I live in Wisconsin and one like when it’s winter here it’s still summer there I’m really jealous so like one time I wanted to send them this like like garden utensil thing in the mail and I showed up to the post office without a box and I’m like how do I send this and like yeah we can just throw a label on it and send it just like that and I’m like just picture a shovel being sent in the mail with just a label like that’s what I sent him and after ever since then I’m like oh god like the possibilities are endless so this is what I did this is what the third package was so I playing off the whole gold farmer thing like I’m for those you that don’t know I am the world’s wealthiest goat farmer so here’s what I sent I freaking bought like every single um walking stick like like like weird like kind of rustic walking stick off of Amazon and then I basically like zip tied a wizard hat on top of it and then sent it in the mail just like that so picture a walking stick without a box there’s no box a walking stick with a wizard hat zip tied to the top with a letter inside a little bag inside of the Hat and it shows up just like that at the mailbox that’s the third thing and then the in the letter now I’m now I’m getting what I want out of the deal right so I’ve given them all the stuff they wanted now I’m kind of sort of recruiting them to become an affiliate and then getting what I want out of it which is really cool I what I got mine I just got a cane the walking stick there was no wizard hat or anything else to it I’m like what the heck is this why I’m like yeah so I was like what’s going on it did a fortune in the office and I saw the Facebook page people are talking about oh my gosh what did you see this did you see that I was like ah now it makes a connection but it was it was so cool because I end up getting the next package afterwards which actually reference that one as well and I thought ah that was from Dana so totally made a ton of sense and made connecting all the dots for me so it was super cool so I guess there’s more there was another package I forgot so um after I get what I want then I keep sending them because so I think what the last one day if you got was a little mini goat the screaming goat yeah I plan on having all these things here with me but unfortunate my kids have it all the house so what I got look don’t worry I’ve got mine right here not when I haven’t take it home right there Oh perfect so I said here’s how the letter came Dave thank you so much and again I got this crazy holy crap you did it congratulations and the copy in here is just awesome I love the font you guys probably can’t see this but I’m going to put it up to you anyway since this is the font is awesome little hands take it to the bottom and the best part is it’s all it talks about the entire thing as far as you go so I’m going to I’ll read this real fast we don’t get okay I don’t want steal your chest okay I’ll send you a bill Dave thanks a million for taking the wild crazy journey with me the video you gave me is going to help a ton of authors experts and creative minds to get paid what they deserve for their works so let me tell you a little backstory here one thing that said Dana asked for then was basically a testimonial from us posting on Facebook or on YouTube they sent in the link of what we thought of his book brilliant idea because now that said you’re getting testimonials from your dream 100 which was super cool and then I can’t in this campaign without a goat but according to my cage research shipping the live goat is going to require semi truck so here’s the next best thing open the screaming goat box now and then continue reading so this basically is the screaming goat you guys can’t see this I’m going to see if I can that actually probably bailed make this down but it takes scope and this boat basically has you push the bottom or the base in here and see if I can put stuff to my mic here that’s the crazy sound it makes it’s a screaming goat and you go through the rest of things yes goats really do see out just like that thank you I guess you could say it’s a little creepy when I lock my ghosts up at night their pets and all you hear is those screams coming from the near woods my neighbors haven’t called the cops yet so I’m good last thing if you ever need to help with anything just let me know I’m happy to do whatever I can and lend a hand in any way I’m just a simple-minded confused inbred goat farmer but if you’re super desperate I’m always here and he goes off for a couple of things the coolest thing about it is you’re actually so the psychology behind this is fantastic you’ve now asked them to do something to you and you’re reciprocating saying hey listen if there’s anything I can do for you I’m always here for you and I think one of the biggest problems I have with most people when I I mean we get a ton of people asked us to promote and all this kind of stuff I rarely get put up someone’s 3/100 there’s been two this year you and then will be from Australia a 15 year old kid is basically doing $500,000 and affiliations from stages crazy numbers for being 15 years old but it’s been amazing to me to see the psychology and really the thought that you put into this kind of stuff and I think that’s the part I really want people to understand what you said earlier gain is so true and that is listen if if Russell’s worth a million to three millions to you why would you I don’t care maybe you want to be cheap spend only ten percent of it my gosh whatever it might be but realize that your dream 100 has such value that you can let me sell anything you want as you get their attention the main thing is it’s really it’s a ton of fun here in our office because we get people all the time sending stuff to Russell just trying to get his attention and most of time if you send a letter it’s never going to get there he will never see email he’s not going to see a Facebook post but if you send a package I can guarantee if he’s on a webinar if he’s not doing anything when when Melanie gets that package it breaks to him first thing everything stops because only cares about seeing with the packages and it’s just an amazing interrupt and your packages are just killer cool coming to white box I love the whole thing so amazing job super super just love which done well thank you man I appreciate that it’s like it’s kind of like a your when you’re a kid and like it’s like getting a present you know yo yeah but it totally is and I think the funniest thing is we’ve been talking about 3/100 or gosh six seven eight years now and rarely do people actually implement it like you have and I’m just so proud of yet data seriously just so proud of the success that you’ve had with this and maybe before cuz you take massive action it’s just massive action super super cool but I know one of the things that you’ve gotten extremely good at and that is selling high ticket stuff I mean 2500 aa log books I take the record now I don’t anybody is sold a book that expensive so if people want to connect I know you’ve got stuff as far as how to sell high ticket stuff what’s the best way for people to get all to you um so I’m tough to get ahold of because we got like three gatekeepers one of them’s ago Tom’s but uh I do have if anyone is interested in like any of all of my secrets that I’ve laid out like the book that dave has read and that he’s been referring to and that pretty much everyone’s going crazy over that basically takes anybody that has a book or wants to write a book and puts the power into their hands to actually sell it for what it’s worth like I do for four hundred dollars a thousand dollars twenty five hundred dollars a copy profit margins are pretty good I’m not gonna lie still costs same five bucks to print it um so I’ve got um I’ve got an entire video presentation that lays out how that all started what that means how you can do it it’s at if you go to take our industry back calm you can watch it and see the whole story for yourself super cool again take our industry back calm definitely recommend you guys go take a look at it see it Dana you’re such a giving person and I appreciate just how open you bid with your strategies and how it’s worth to dream 100 and all that kind of stuff anything else you want to share with our audience before we wrap things up um so
