ClickFunnels™ Giving Back: Village Impact

My guess is that probably half of you guys don’t even know about this part of ClickFunnels™. A big part of the mission to help you guys to get your message out, to sell your products, to make more money, but on the flip side of that, I’m hoping that throughout this whole weekend you’re seeing like the power of what you can do with money, with funnels. And so when we first launched three years ago, I’m curious how many of you guys even knew this, so, did you know that every single time any of you guys builds a funnel, we donate $1 towards an organization called World Teacher Aid. How many of you guys were aware of that? How many had no idea that was even happening? Most of the room. (laughs) Crazy. – Okay, and we’re back. Alright, here we’re in Paris. – In Minneapolis on our way to? – Nairobi, Kenya. – So you guys have actually been donating a whole bunch of money, and so we wanna kinda show you guys what’s happened over the last 12 months. So, to do that, we’ll be bringing up two of my favorite human beings on planet Earth, Stu and Amy McLaren. Will you guys come on up?

– Whether you realize it or not, ClickFunnels™ have been contributing and what we love to do is we love to show where that is actually going with ClickFunnels™ Giving Back. And in the last 12 months, a lot has happened. We wanna kinda bring you behind the scenes and show you what the ClickFunnels™ community has done. (light music) – I have been in the car forever, Colette is asleep back there, Evan’s passed out in the back. We’re talking marketing so we’re wide awake. Much needed bathroom break. Dave do you know where the bathroom is? – I do so bad. – But here’s what happened. It was actually in a mastermind with Russell, basically when Russell wants to do a family vacation he’ll invite a bunch of people to come and basically pay for the vacation and that was one of those, it was at Pirates Cove. And he encouraged me to share it with everybody and several of the people there said I’m in for a class room and before we knew it we had enough to build the whole school. – Right here, there’s Shalom, which is the first school that we came to do in 2002. I mean 2012 not 2002, I’m so bad at years. (both laughing) Hey, Colette, do you wanna watch what’s about to happen? – Oh my gosh, we’re here. Shalom. – [Russell] The kids are all lined up. – [Colette] They’re gonna welcome us with their happy greeting. – [Russell] Wow. – [Children] Karibu, Karibu! (children cheering) – On that side’s the first school and there’s the high school back there. – [Colette] Oh My Gosh! – [Evan] Look at all those classrooms. (children cheering) – How are you? All right, so then 2016, at Funnel Hacking Live everyone in the audience started to help build a school, and so we actually built this entire these two classrooms right here as a Funnel Hacking Community so check this out. This one right here, we call it the Future FunnelHackers, right there, and this is the classroom where they’re learning English, Math, and then down here is your Funnel University. (singing in foreign language) – These bring you our first school. Thank you very much, for us to sell you that idea and you bought it, and it has really materialized.

May God bless you, may God bless you, may God bless you. Many of these children that you see, many of the families are broken families. Others are the head of the families. Especially right from the background of the violence. (gun bangs) (slow dramatic music) – [Jane] I was watching when we had the post election violence. Although we were not going out you would hear a lot of shots. And then watching the news to a point where I got depressed. We were not turning on the television because of the depressing news. It was fire, people are burning, it was really bad. – [Leonard] It all began some few days before the elections, to when the general elections was delayed. Where one candidate thought the elections had been rigged. – [Jane] So they really mess with the people who are supporting them, and they tell them this is what you do. They even incite them, fight! The people who had it worst. – [Leonard] Hundreds of thousands are displaced. Most of the displaced persons were not exactly poor people, so some of them lost everything. – IDPS are people who have been relocated from their homes where they are relocated in a big chunk of land it’s in the middle of nowhere, where there are no amenities, no nothing, and basically, they are like refugees but within their own country. No school, no hospital, no nothing. So, for us we specifically focus on education. That’s our call, mission. Which is what we have found that is the most important because that’s bringing the community together. (children cheers) (singing in foreign language) – [Jane] So there is great hope in what you are doing. It shall not be forgotten even by God. God will bless you.

Between now and next year many things will have happened. – It’s been a long journey. So many people are really devoted themselves, and we really thank you guys for the good work you have done in our schools and continue in pocketing them and just making them what they are. – The gift that we’re giving them is so much bigger than he I mean, it’s a couple thousand bucks for us, it’s not that big of a deal, but for them it’s like a future and hope and they just want us to be proud of them. You realize how much it means to them. It’s cool, it’s just fun to go back to Shalom today after seeing Jane this weekend and just remembering when we we met her. The word in my mind is like hopeful, like, it’s so cool to see the transformation each time we come. From each of the communities and I’m just pumped and excited for these guys, and all you guys. (crickets chirping) (slow hopeful music) – All right so I have, we survived night one in the tent. It was a little cold last night, but now the sun’s up. It’s beautiful, we just had breakfast, and check this out, I’ll show you guys what’s happening. All right, so this is the tents that everyone’s packed. We got row of tent all the way down here, and all the way down through here. And this is the actual school right there, which is awesome. And there’s about 300 kids on the other side waiting for us to look at the school, and we’re going to head over there in a few minutes. – All right, now it’s time to go get to work.

Projects Going On ClickFunnels™ Giving Back: Village Impact

So we got painting projects, we got hole digging projects, all sorts of fun stuff. – [Russell] So we’re planting all the plants to make this place more beautiful. – Yeah, it’s going to be so gorgeous in a year. Yes, we are going to first sand the walls down, wanna clean these chips, then we’re going to clear the debris with our brush. – Painting heavy, painting heavy! They’re having us do the primer because they don’t trust us with the real coat. (laughing) And, they shouldn’t. – [Russell] Rightfully so. (children chattering) – [All] Go, go, go. (laughing) – All the kids look good with their nails painted. Men, women, kids, boys, girls, everyone, so that’s kinda fun. Let’s see, let’s see, beautiful! (children laughing) I’ll help me. We just found the bridge that we’ve been looking for. – Yeah! (slow happy music) (child laughs) – [Stu] Hi! (chomping) – Jurassic Park. Now the show must go on for the tour. Guys, this is one of their homes, the kitchen here. – Oh, wow! This is their next door neighbor, 92 years old. All right so we’re about to bring these pencil bags to our classroom. So our classroom, every year you name a classroom, but this year we want to do it for our kids’ names. – (laughs) So we mashed their names together. – The problem is, it’s like a license plate you only get X amount of characters and we’ve got five kids, we had to smoosh all their names into one supername. There’s Ellinor and Dalaidwen. (laughs)

Each of these classrooms, most of the ones here are built by the Funnel Hacking community. So this is the LadyBoss Learning Center. This is Brandon and Kaelin from LadyBoss. This Delivering WOW classroom, this is from Anissa, this is one of our Funnel Hackers. Anissa is this your classroom? – This is my classroom! – So exciting, Kim and Toby, the Two Comma Club winners, they donated and came, not only donate money they donated their time to actually come here. Morning of everybody’s second day of the camp they’re leaving the tents, and then they’re doing a big huge celebration later on today with about 1,000 people. ClickFunnels™ Giving Back: Village Impact: All the villagers are coming here to dedicate the school. – We’re bound to get the opening ceremonies started. – All the cars coming in, there’s a whole convoy of cars. The Governor’s here, here’s the convoys for the celebration. (singing in foreign language) –

Big Thanks

So just a big thank you to both of you guys for always being a huge support, and just a huge thank you to the ClickFunnels™ community, I mean you guys have been unbelievable and the more success you have, the more impact that we’re able to have as well, so keep cranking out those funnels, baby! Leonard’s Story

One other cool story we had, this guy name Leonard he’d gone to school but had to drop out because he couldn’t afford it. So we helped finish his college education we paid him, hardly anything, like a couple hundred bucks to help finish his college education. Hi, this is Leonard! – Yeah. – How’s it going? – [Russell] And when we came here this trip, he was so excited he drove three and a half hours on a little motorcycle to come and we saw him. He wanted to show us he brought his diploma so he could show us. – Really? – Yeah. (laughs) – [Leonard] Do you know I have five children? – I didn’t know you had five, I thought you had three. You do, we have five, too! – [Russell] Oh, so proud of you. – [Colette] Oh, gosh! – [Leonard] Yeah. – [Colette] Leonard! (laughs) – [Russell] He said, “You don’t understand what this did.” He said, “When I got this diploma, “I went back to the village and I kept my graduation gown on “and my whole village had a celebration. “I told all the kids that because I got a diploma, “all of you guys can get a diploma.” From one person succeeding now his whole village believes they can succeed. You look at the ripple effect from that. When you start figuring out how to give and how to serve your mind opens up the possibilities. I believe God expands your capacity because He knows that He can trust you with this, not just like, I’m making more money so I can get my new Lambo and my new Ferrari and all these things. He’s like, no, I’m going to bless this person because he’s using this increase to help somebody else. We have this thought, well, when I’m successful. then I’ll donate money. And it’s like, no, figure it out now and then your mind will be expanded to figure out how to get your own needs and other people’s needs met. And when you start looking at things that way, your mind is just opened. For me I believe it’s like revelation comes to you because it’s like I’m trying to figure out other ways to serve.

(man mumbling) That’s all it takes. (crowd laughing) I’m freaking out how bad that is. Today was a crazy day, Uber ride home and I’m taking Uber (laughs) taking Uber guy. Just got done pushing the Uber driver up the hill, car’s broken, hope’n to make it. – We are in Uber. – Now the car’s working again. (laughs) I’ve got to pack up this room, we have to get all of our garbage to fit into one bag to take to the Masai Mara to the safari so tomorrow we’re heading out, so Monday another trip tomorrow and we’ll see some lions, some zebras, bye bye. – (group talking) to jump on a safari – Check it out, these are the private planes we’re taking to the safari, hopefully we survive. We’re about to go on safari. Oh, yeah. – Hey, guys. Yay! Finally! (plane engine roars) (rhythmic music) – There’s like all these tents, tents, tents, tents they go way back there, is our amazing camp. – Hi welcome to our tent, welcome to the Masai Mara. Let me show you the tent, glamping at it’s finest. We have these cool little African Masai Mara lamps, which are pretty cool, nice little makeup station for Sam, and here oh yeah you have a fire alarm. You know it’s real camping when there’s a fire alarm, hot water, a cute little lamp, tiles. The best part of every day is I wake up with a guy who wakes us up to go to safari with ClickFunnels™ in Kenya. He doesn’t knock, he peeks his head in and goes hello hello good morning. It is so peaceful the way that he wakes us up. Last year we actually asked him to do a voice recording of him waking me up, so I’d hold the cell phone up to him and then I’d say, can you just do that thing that you wake us up in the morning? And I save that on my phone and I made it my alarm clock and it really scares people. Good morning hello, good morning hello. – Good morning, so we’re in a hire balloon and we’ll go above all the animals and see them and it’s so much fun. Are you excited? – Whoa, I’m so excited I can’t wait. – Those baskets over there – Let’s see the baskets, there they are. Air Kenya, here we go. – Air Kenya! (equipment running) (thrilling music) – Ah. (haunting music) ♪ (group sings in foreign language) ♪ (lively music) Danny you look like a lizard. (music slows) What’s up elephants? This lion he kills everything he finds, he’s just like he knows it. My friendly giraffe he is about that tall. – Man safari is the most amazing experience ever it’s all sorts of crazy stuff’ for ClickFunnels™ in Kenya – I got that on my blog again. – Oh my gosh. (exciting music) – Have to say this has been one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. This has been so magical, so much fun. – The secret to selling anything online isn’t being spiritual. It’s looking spiritual. That’s why the number one thing people want from me is this. My hair. – [Dan Usher] Crushed it. – [Sam] Crushed it, yeah. – [Man Three] Killed it! – [Dan Usher] All right, all right. – [Sam] Let’s do one more. (playful music) – I’m going into a beauty supply store to hopefully to find the perfect matching wig to match JP Sears hair.

We are shooting a commercial with him. I’m super excited ’cause this commercial is going to be hilarious. Yeah? – Oh. But you look amazing. (drum beat with Cowbell] – [Sam] It looks good? – [Dan] Actually, you should wear this for Halloween. Go as JP for Halloween. (whirring of airplane Engine] (elevator beeping) – All right, it is way to early. Like it’s, looking pretty ominous right now.

We are heading to the Dry Bar Comedy club and there’s a couple logistics happening that we’re not entirely used to. Such as, makeup artists trying to put a bald cap on a dude who has super long hair. And thick. Red. – We are here in Salt Lake City heading down to Provo, Utah to the Dry Bar Comedy club. We actually have someone here. (sighs) What do you call a person who actually handles your luggage? (laughing) – Luggage handler? – [Dave Woodward] Luggage handler. – We are at VidAngel slash Dry Bar Comedy club slash Harmon Brothers headquarters.

They produce some of the coolest infomercials you’ve ever seen. Squatty Potty, Poo Pourri. Fiber Fix. Saturday save us. (Man murmuring) (knocking) – Oh, the hell’s going on? And he didn’t see us. (knocking) I want comedy! Why can’t we get in? – This is downtown Provo, Utah. – Yeah, man.

This is where it’s happening. Fall colors, mountainous earth. – So the whole reason we’re is because JP is setting the stage for tonight. It’ll drive our comic up. We are so honored, thrilled, and excited to have him here. And then you’ve got the opportunity of basically kicking things off before Andrew Moore gets on stage with Russell. And talks about all of Click Funnel’s crazy start up stories. – Yeah, I’m excited for it.

You make it sound like the event revolves around me. – It does! – Which it doesn’t. – It totally does. – I get to come in and have some fun but it’s gonna be a great event. – Hey, you see him? – [Man] There he is! Oh. Y’all know that was a missed opportunity then. – [Dan] I have booked it. – I need backup, don’t be weird. (upbeat techno music) So this is office goals right here. Make Lily turn this space into a full out like, production studio. Dry Bar, comedy club. Like all these cool things. And it’s all separated. –

(Cameraman laughing) – He’s on the, keto anorexia diet. – So this is going to be a weird request and I have to ask her if they have his hair. JP’s hair. – [Cameraman] So I need that hair. – Exactly that, yep.

There’s an actual wig room. I’d love to have a wig room. – [Woman] Yeah, check this out! – Well I’m just trying to get dressed up as JP. To have JP lookalikes running throughout all of Provo for Halloween. That’s the idea – [Blonde Woman] I have a sister with hair that color. – Oh, you do? She sounds beautiful. (laughing) – What are you thinkin’? Nope? Not close enough. – No, not JP enough. – I’m thinkin’ I wish I wasn’t so attracted to you right now, David. (laughing) – [Blonde Woman] Well let me keep lookin’ and see if I can find a darker, a little bit deeper. But actually it’s light. – [Cameraman] I think it’s a good look for you, man. (laughing) – You look really good on me. – And then it’s just like, “Whoa!” “Which one’s the real JP?” (laughing) – The answer is I’m Dave. (laughing) (upbeat music)

It feels like my wife would stop loving me if she saw me right now. It’s weird. – [Dave] So weird. – [Cameraman] It looks pretty natural though. – It’s so weird, oh. I just wish I had this kind of hair and then I had the option of being bald. I’m just gonna be bald regardless. – And that was three hours, and solid. With Click Funnels I no longer have to do all the selling by myself. Hello army. (upbeat music) You just made me bald so that we can make me have hair, that is not my own. Instead of having my own. – [Cameraman] Rolling on sound. – Moment of truth right here, funnel hackers. Get ready for it.

You can see that shadow. – [Dave] We got shadow? – Yep. – [Dave] Look up. – See that, funnel hackers? You gotta fail before you have a success. (beep) – Hi, a little technical difficulty right now.

The flower broke. So we’re having to fix the flower. Unfortunately we don’t have a hot dry glue gun. Whatever those things are called.Hot dry, that’s not. – Right now, everybody working on me. – [Woman] There you go, perfect. (beep) – JP hair. If you’re not in my funnel, you’re dead to me. (beep) That light? You’ve gotta be kidding me! – If you’re not in my funnel. – This is crazy. Little bit of problem. We have a power surge going on in the building, and every time the generator things come on the light flashes. So, hopefully we’re gonna get this thing fixed here.

Turn off all the lights in that house, and focus just on this. – We’re getting a shot one more time? (chuckling) – And some people say the more money you make the more impact you can have. But I like to say the more money you make, the more income you have. Then to triple my profits, I add in a quick order form bump. I add in a quick order form bump to buy my headband. (groans) I just love how easy it is to try. Sounded cheesy JP, ya jerk. Now take a, take a Jeff. (Dave laughing) And what was the? – [Sam] All right, that’s a rap.

(laughing) All right, sales team listen up. We’ve gotta increase our monthly hair sales. Lance, have you sold a million dollars worth of hair this month? – No. – No. – [Tom] My name’s Tom. – So you’re selling like a Lance.

You should be ashamed of yourself. We gotta sell more hair. Success, money, income, revenue, profits. All synonyms for making me rich. ‘Cause it’s not about making me rich. (all laugh) – [Russell] Every day when you have success, there’s a story there that’s more valuable than the success. When you fail, there’s a story there that’s more valuable than the failure. It was the story you need to inspire people to sell your next product, to do your next thing, to create your movement, to calm a new segment of people into the marketplace.

Whatever it is for you, the stories the key. Keep your eyes open for stories that are happening around you. – Okay, we are packing to go to the Entrepreneur of the Year event. We’re so excited. Hey Colette, what are you doing here? – Hey hey, I’m getting ready to go over to some event, I don’t know. Some black tie event. – Oh man, you so excited? We are living out of the basement.

That’s why everything’s out here instead of in our bedroom (laughs). There you go. – Earlier this year I submitted for the Entrepreneur of the Year of our region and I won it, which was really cool. And then basically all the regions get together and do a national tournament. I was all excited to go to this national thing and compete and see if we could win the National Entrepreneur of the Year award. – Are you sad or are you happy? Mom and dad are gonna be gone. You get to play with grandma, it’ll be so fun. (woman laughs) Aww, I love you, baby. Always late, I don’t know what it is. Always late. Dave, what’s going on? – We’re late to the airport, again. – Ugh, it’s always my fault. This was kind of Dave’s fault, a little bit. –

This was so my fault. I really thought, oh, no problem, we got plenty of time. My wife’s like, “Um, doesn’t the flight leave at 1:30?” I’m like, yeah, what time is it? She goes, “It’s 1:15.” I’m like, okay, I better pack. – But this is the thing about flying private. They’re on my schedule, I’m not on theirs. So we will show up when we want to. So Dave, how you feeling about the competition this weekend? – I’m so nervous for Russ, you have no idea. Because there’s nothing more frustrating about competing when you can’t do anything. It’s the lamest type of competition you could ever have.

It’s like, we’re just gonna think about what you did and talk about it, and whoever said it, we’re gonna use their recommendation and hopefully that’s good enough. – Unless we win, then we thrash them all because we deserve it. If we lose, though, we have tons of excuses. (both laugh) I thought if we’re gonna do this, we should make an experience out of it, right?

That way we can do an episode of Funnel Hacker TV. That way it’s not just like me going somewhere on an event. I go to a lot of events and it’s just boring. So I’m like, how to make this memorable for me and for my wife, and for anyone else we want to bring? The question I have for you guys is, if ClickFunnels™ was to get its own jet, what would you think about that? [Russell] 27 minutes. – It’s like, well, we can just fly there, or what if we did it upright and rented a private plane? So we rented a private plane. (rock music) We are landing in Salt Lake right now to pick up some of my special guests. I’m excited, it’s my mom and my dad, so this is fun. My mom and dad, amazing human beings, my dad’s a great entrepreneur.

But they’ve been very frugal their entire life. They always fly coach, they always do everything. So last time we flew into Boise and I bought them a ticket. I bought them first class, and they were like, “What, we can’t do first class,” anyway. But my mom saw a video of me in a private jet, and she’s like, “You can’t fly private. Everyone dies private,” anyways, so she’s convinced it’s really, really bad. I messaged my dad a couple days ago and said, “Dad, this is the plan, we’re picking you guys up in a private jet, hope that’s okay. You job to go tell mom and convince her it’s okay.”

So her first thing is she started freaking out, I guess. Thinking it was a little puddle jumper plane. And then I write, no, it’s an actual airplane. It’s a jet, it’s gonna be alright. Flew down, picked my parents up in Salt Lake. My mom was certain she was gonna die on the plane. She read a book about someone who got in a plane wreck one time, so because of that she was convinced that certain death was the only possible outcome for this vacation.

It was really hard to convince her to go, but she agreed, finally. – We don’t even fly first class, so to get on a private plane is almost unbelievable. Incredible, we’re excited. (chill acoustic music) – Dave just talked my mom into flying the airplane. – [Man] There you go. (chill acoustic music) – [Russell] How was it, Mom, did you survive? – I’m, so far so good, thank you. – My mom just started telling these guys about what Russell’s as a little kid. Let’s here the real stories. – He would get all this mail, this junk mail, and he would just put it in his bedroom on the floor. Also, once they got to high school, or junior high, I can’t remember, I made them do their own laundry.

We do his laundry and he’d just throw that, after it was all clean, onto the floor with all his paperwork, ’cause it couldn’t be on the bed because he had to sleep in the bed. And the room just get bigger. – I was a junk mail hoarder. (acoustic music) – You would think that we would be able to be treated with the utmost respect, and unfortunately, for some reason we have all double beds.

Usually you would come here to celebrate and you would want at least a king size bed to be able to celebrate the success that you’re having. So we’re getting one that has a king size bed. It’s a Murphy bed, so it actually pulls down from the wall. – Come on, we’re gonna show you the big reveal of our sweet room.

He’s so excited. – I’m so worried about this. – [Blonde Woman] This is hilarious. Where’s the bed? (all laugh) Woo-hoo. – I’m so sorry. – [Blonde Woman] Light show and everything. – We flew private, because we want to make this a nice experience, but we don’t have a bed. (all laugh) (swing music) The night we got there, they did it right.

They had this huge dinner with this amazing buffet. It was amazing. I’ve been to a lot of buffets. This was like four steps past anything I’ve ever been to before. This dessert bar, they literally had a donut wall. Alright, this is the donut wall. Infamous. They had chocolate covered bacon. They had this thing that looked like a big ice cream bar with tons of different ice cream flavors, but it wasn’t ice cream, it was cookie dough. It was a cookie dough bar.

What in the world, what kind’d you guys get? -I got chocolate chip. – [Russell] Chocolate chip? – [Woman] Chocolate chip, chocolate chip. – [Russell] Everyone picks chocolate chip. It was insane, because they scoop out tons of cookie dough into the thing, and the desserts alone were, ah. I was just telling Dave, I feel like we’re on Pleasure Island. I’m Pinocchio, and we’re about to turn into donkeys any minute now after having cookie dough bar, donut bar, marshmallow bar, so. – I’m actually getting sick to my stomach right now. – It’s so worth it. Anyway, it was amazing.

Then there was the Kelly Clarkson concert. She did this huge show for us, a private event. ♪ Guess this means you’re sorry ♪ ♪ You’re standing at my door ♪ I’m like, for example, Jennifer Garner came and spoke. It’s funny, I tease my wife, I think everyone’s allowed to have one celebrity crush, right? She’s totally my celebrity crush.

Ever since 13 Going on 30 I was like, she is the coolest, ever. – I’m a little nervous about what she can get out of me, so it all has to stay in the room. – She was so amazing, not just from a point that I have a crush on her, right? But just insanely amazing. – Give yourself room to not be a perfect parent, to not be a perfect, but when you get the chance be perfect. (strings music) – Ready for our black tie event? – We’re ready. – You feeling good? – I don’t know. – Looking good, dang. And then I forgot my name tag. I’m surprised you never got it. – (laughs) No.

But you know what does surprise me? – What’s that? – That we’re not gonna be late. – We’re gonna be on time. – Russell Brunson on time? – Well, it’s gonna be really close. – As usual. – Look at this guy, ow ow. – Let me turn that around. You actually look a ton better than I do. – I don’t know, look at that. – [Colette] (gasps) So pretty. – Alright, so what’s happening right now, guys? What are we about to do? – About ready to go on a fun little yacht.

Actually a little dinghy, but we’ll call it a yacht. – You excited for this? – Yeah, I’m excited. Treasure moments that are special with your man. (brass music) – [Dave] Russell Brunson. (women cheer) – [Russell] Most of the companies who were there had all raised money. I think there’s probably half a dozen of us who are bootstrap entrepreneurs, and the rest were all VC -backed. It’s funny, ’cause I was talking with Dave about this ahead of time. I’m like, in the bodybuilding world, there’s two competitions. There’s one that’s the bodybuilding competition.

Everybody comes and there’s no rules. They never say, “Oh yeah, go do steroids.” but they don’t test for it, right? So because of that, that’s where you get guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno. These dudes who are insane, who you look at and you’re like, “That can’t be human.” and you’re like, “Oh, it’s because they’re not human. They’re on steroids,” right? There’s that turn, but then there’s the natural bodybuilding contest where you have to not be on steroids to qualify, and those guys look way smaller.

They look amazing, but you put them standing next to each other, it’s like, “Well, that dude’s on steroids.” There’s a difference, right? I feel like it’s the same thing here. The Entrepreneur of the Year award is all these dudes who are on steroids, who got two billion dollars in funding, and there’s people like me who are the natural ones who showed up, and you look at us by ourselves we look good, but you look standing next to somebody who received two billion dollars in funding, it’s like, how do you compete with that? It’s fascinating.

We just got done with EY Entrepreneur of the Year award. Our battery’s almost dead. We didn’t win, but we lost to that guy right there, who started Groupon and this is his new company, so that’s okay. In our category we lost to Thomas Siebel, who is Marc Benioff’s old boss. – A billionaire. – We lost to a billionaire who has given 300 million to philantrop, philampro, I can’t say the word. – Philanthropic. – We’ll take the loss, but. I lost to the billionaire, but the billionaire was all ‘roided out, so I don’t feel too bad.

And then the dude who won Entrepreneur of the Year overall in all the categories was the guy who started Groupon, which actually was really cool. Groupon was his sixth business and then he took it public, and now this is his new business, which was confusing, but it went from zero to two billion dollar valuation, or, excuse me, a billion dollar valuation in two years.

We are packing up and heading out of this place. – Heading out of Palm Springs. – What was your favorite part about the week? – Oh my gosh, actually having my wife here probably was my favorite part, but aside from that, actually being here with Russell was a ton of fun, too. – Yes, I take number two. (calm music) I didn’t win the contest, and it’s funny ’cause some people reach out and are like, “Oh, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.” It’s funny because I didn’t care.

I wasn’t going into it to do it. I’m always going into things looking for the story. What’s the story I’m gonna be able to tell because of this experience? I’m always talking about with you guys that you need to be building up your Rolodex of stories. When I do a webinar, the reason I can do webinars so fast, and I can crank ’em out and I can sell well is because I’ve got this huge Rolodex of stories I’ve been building up for over a decade that I can pull out really quick at a moment’s notice.

So I’m like, what are the stories that I can pull out of this experience that I can use in other things? When I spoke at the TedX event and I did the 3.2 million dollars in sales. Everyone’s like, “Oh my gosh, you made 3.2 million dollars in sales,” and I’m like, yeah, that was cool, but I’ve got a story now. That story will make me 10 times that 3.2 million. To be able to tell that story about how I’m the highest paid public speaker in the world. How I netted a million dollars an hour.

All those things, I will sell way more product from that than I ever did from the money that I made at the event. I’m looking for this story. For me it’s like, this whole thing happened. I didn’t win it, but for me the story is this whole thing I shared with you guys today, this natural versus unnatural. And I probably should, we are gonna be building a Bootstrap Entrepreneur of the Year award and a thing, and it’s gonna be a movement and a big thing based on this story.

The fact that I lost, I’m so grateful that I lost because now I have this story about, hey, I lost, but I was going up against people who are on steroids. It’s like bringing a gun to a knife fight. Let’s come back and let’s build the natural bodybuilding contest for entrepreneurs. Now I have a story I can share, and a reason and a purpose and a thing that’s gonna call to all of my people. It’s gonna call out to the bootstrap entrepreneurs. People I love serving are gonna here that message and be like, “Yes, that’s who I am.” They’re gonna hear my voice and they will come to me.

That’s the magic is, in the experience I’m looking for the story. Again, I respect the people who took our money, who build these companies. Some of them are curing cancer. Some of them are doing artificial, amazing things. I’m grateful for them. – Cool stuff. – But I want to celebrate entrepreneurs who didn’t do it that way. Entrepreneurs who are bootstraps, had to figure this stuff out on their own, who had to risk their own money, their own energy, their own time, having it all on the line, ’cause those are the stories that really inspired me. If so, we’re calling our shot.

– [Andrew] Did you feel like a loser  getting married at 22 and still counting on your dad for money? Did you feel like you were marrying a loser? – I’m inviting you to a very special really, really cool event with someone I have huge respect for. His name is Andrew Warner at a place called the Dry Bar Comedy club in Provo, Utah. – [Dave] We’ve got a large team coming down, and we have Click Funnels startup stories.

We’re heading on our way right now. Heading over to meet JP at D gate. So, JP’s hiding because he’s so popular he has to literally hide behind corners and what’s up? – David.  – [Russell] Yeah, thanks for coming. – Yeah, for sure. – I’m so excited. – Yeah, me too. And Dave has just been amazing and weird – Weird, yeah. – [Andrew] Good to see you. – Good to see you too. – Andrew. You need two guys following you around with cameras?

Yeah, they always follow us everywhere. – I feel at home when I’m hanging with you guys ’cause you guys are obviously children dressed up in adult bodies. So playful and I’m just like, I’m not the only one. I love it.  – We’ve got about three hours until the live show starts. And so we will throw stuff up there real quick, then we’ll go see the venue because I stress out until I see the venue. Whenever I speak at an event, I have to go and step on the stage the night before or else I’m sick in my stomach, so we’re gonna check it out.

We picked Dry Bar Comedy Club because Mormons can’t drink and this is like the dry bar, and so we thought it’d be kinda funny and people always ask us our story. You always hear the highlight of our story but I thought it’d be fun. Andrew’s a really good interviewer and he’ll go deep into the ups and the downs, and so we thought we’d just tell the whole story. –

We’re here, this is the entourage. – Oh, we walk into the Dry Bar Comedy Club! This is amazing. I’ve always seen pictures of this online that’s why we picked it but I hadn’t seen inside. Alright, we just got to Dry Bar Comedy Club and check it out, this is like, the coolest location I have ever seen. – So this is office goals right here. We are here, Tom Brothers, slash Bid Angels, slash the Dry Bar Comedy Club. –

The ambiance of this room is so cool. I saw pictures online and looked cool, this is like, a million times cooler.It’s like tighter and more, like, hanging out together. – We were to get stick figures, or something like that, or little kinda cut out poster things, and Miles actually came up with this idea. I don’t know were Miles is. Miles said, let’s go oversized. – So this, Russel hates pictures of himself.

He absolutely hates it. I don’t think he knew about this. But he always hates his chin so I kinda fixed it a little bit in Photoshop so he’s good. I’m just kidding. – We only have like 30-40 minutes left and as you can tell, there’s a whole bunch of stuff that’s gotta get done, so, hopefully, we’re gonna pull this thing off.

We’ve got tech issues, we’ve got to have press release passes printed and all that kinda stuff, so, we’re getting those printed. – I’m a little nervous, I’m not gonna lie. I hope people will show up, that’s my biggest fear. The venue holds about two hundred, or so, seats. We sold 250. If they don’t come, that’s gonna be horrible, if too many come, that’s gonna be horrible too. – Keith Yackey here, I’m actually the MC tonight, and I don’t feel any pressure at all because I just get to have fun and introduce my friends.

And it’s going to be a blast. – So you need me to do something for those 5 minutes is what you’re saying? – Yup. – Thanks for telling me now. Okay, now I’m stressed.  Man, I just held up your head for a picture. – Well, right on, I’m JP. – Oh, I know you are. – Alright, the party is starting to get started, people are coming in, starting to fill up the venue. Few weeks ago, Russell called me up and said, JP, would you be willing to come to this event and, you know, just make fun of me for a little while and talk about me? And I said, like, that doesn’t even sound narcissistic.

So I called up Infusionsoft and said, hey, do you guys need me on the 20th? Thank you guys for having fun with me, I appreciate y’all. In every industry, there’s somebody that comes along that really disrupts the industry, that really changes it and that really does something amazing for that industry. And, as we all know, that person, is Russell Brunson.

Give it up, guys! – Alright, thanks for coming, guys, this is so cool. I wanna introduce the person who’s gonna be doing the interview tonight. It’s someone I’m really excited to have here. Let’s put our hands together for Mr. Andrew Warner. – I wanna make it meaningful for you. I talked a lot of you as you were coming in here. You wanna know how they got here, what worked for ClickFunnels™, what would work for us.

So that’s my goal here, to spend the time understanding, by interviewing you about how you did it.  – So, what we learned tonight was that Russell went to an amusement park when he was just a little kid. And his favorite food was a funnel cake. – Click funnels started as a food truck. – So they started with funnel cakes, and then it morphed on into funnels, it was great. –

I was a little embarrassed for him, that they would have to lie about it for so long and not tell anyone and that’s the origin story. – It was really weird to walk in and see Russell sipping on Patron tequila. – Nobody saw it coming and it’s like… – Nobody revealed to us that he was a hypnotist. I looked around, it was like, half the audience had their pants down, it was insane, it was insane.

Such a good event. – The most awkward part was when Russell started to cry. – Why is he crying? – Curled up in a fetus position on stage, in front of 260 people for a half hour. That blew my mind. – Yeah, so, everything else was good minus the lies. – Alright, let’s start with the very first business. What’s this one? This is called Sublimenet. How many of you remember Sublimenet out there? – I don’t know, I wanted to sell software, so I was like, what kinda name my company, so I figured out, exciting software .

So I went by Exciteware.com but it wasn’t for sale. And so I buy Exciteware.net and Colette was working at the time and she came home and I was so excited, we have our first website, we’re gonna be rich! And I told her the name, I was like, Exciteware.net, and she looked at me with this look like, are we selling underwear or what is, and I’m like, no, it’s software.

And then she’s like, I’m not gonna tell my mom that you bought that, you have to think of another name. And I was like, crap! And that was the next best name I came with, Sublimenet, like the band, Sublime. – And I was gonna ask you what it was, but it was lots of different things. Every screenshot on there is a whole other business under the same name.

What are the businesses, do you remember? – There’s website hosting, there’s affiliate sites, there were, I remember, the first thing I have ever sold, it was an affiliate product, I made 20 bucks on it, in my PayPal account. I remember that night, I do remember I celebrated, went out to dinner and had a PayPal credit card and then we bought dinner with 20 bucks.

And then the guy refunded like the next day. So sad. – And then you started something I never heard about but, this is the call center. The call center got to how many employees, a hundred? – We had about 60 full time sales people, 20 full time coaches, about 20 people doing the marketing sales, about 100 people the whole company in. – A hundred people. What happened, why did that close down? – Oh man, a lot of things, a lot of bad mistakes.

A lot of first time growing company stuff. Again, we just woke up one day and felt like we’re in this huge office, huge overhead and about that time it was about like ’90, ’99, something like that and there was, the merchant account, me, most of the people doing the market at the time, we all use the same merchant account and they got hit by Visa, Mastercard and they freaked out, they shut down.

I think, four or five hundred merchant accounts overnight. And we had nine different merch accounts with that company, all of them got shut down instantly. And, I remember, ’cause everything was fine, we’re going through the day, it was like 1 o’clock in the afternoon on a Friday they came in like, hey the cards won’t process. And finally, someone on the phone they said, oh yeah, you got shut down along with everybody, along with all the other scammers, and then she hung up on me.

And I was like, I don’t know what to do right now. I’ve got a hundred plus people and payroll’s not small and we didn’t have a ton of cash in the bank. It was just like, it was more of a cash flow business. I remember Avatar just came out so everyone was going to the movie Avatar and I remember sitting there during the longest movie of all time.  And I don’t remember anything, other than like, the sick feeling in my stomach and I was texting everyone, trying to see, like, if anyone knew what to do, and everyone we knew was like, we got shut down too, everyone got shut down.

We came back, the next day I called everyone up and we were trying to figure how to save this and Brent and John and everyone, we came back to my house, and I was like, okay, what ideas have we got. And we sat there for the next five or six hours trying to figure stuff out and then we went to work and I wish I could say everything turned around, but 2 or 3 years of us firing 30 people, firing 20 people, closing things down, moving down offices, just shrinking for a long long time.

The peak of it was, I got an email from my dad who was helping with the books at the time, he said, hey I got really bad news for you I looked through the books and it turns out your assistant who was supposed to be doing payroll taxes haven’t paid payroll in over a year. It’s like, you owe IRS over a 170,000 dollars and if you don’t pay this , you’re probably gonna go to jail. And I was like, Gosh. Every penny I earned up to that point was gone.

Everything was done, we lost everything and I was just like, I don’t know how to fight this battle but if I don’t fight it, like, I go to jail apparently and I remember, that’s a really crappy feeling. And I remember going back then, I laid in bed and I was just like, I wish that I had a boss that could fire me ’cause I don’t know what to do or how to do it and that was definitely the low spot for me. – And you stuck with him? I’ve talked to a few of your people because they’re so good. Why do you work for Russell?

What is it that let’s you be second to Russell who’s getting all the attention?And I’ve got some answers and would you mind coming up here and- Back then when it wasn’t going so well, give me an example of something that he did that let you know this is a guy who’s going to figure it out eventually and I could possibly go down, watch him go to jail, but I believe that it’s going to go up? –

Well, at the time when things are crashing the income stopped and I asked if I could talk to him and sat down and pretty much told him, I can’t keep doing this. I can’t keep watching you every month pull in the money you’ve saved for your family to try to keep jobs for other people. I said, “I’ll leave if that helps you.” The fact that he stuck with people and some people call it faith or belief.

He has this inherent belief that he can truly change people’s lives. That’s it. – [Friend 2] Even when he wasn’t fully in control of his own. It was the fact that we were bootstrapped. We didn’t have money to just throw out there. We had to make sure that we were earning enough money to cover our ads, right? And Russell had all the trust in the world in me.

I don’t know why he did, but he did. And he’s just like, “Spend money and just try to make it self-liquidated.” And I’m like, “Okay,” right? So we just had to spend money and hope that we got enough back to keep spending money. – And self-liquidate means by an ad today and make sure that we make money from that ad right away, and then software. – [John] Yeah. – And then softwares going to pay over time.

That’s our legacy. that’s our thing. What’s your ad budget now? – We spend about half a million a month. – Half a million a month? – Yeah. Yeah. Don’t tell the accountants. – And you’re a partner too. – Yeah. – Wow. You’ve got a piece of that? – Yes. Do I? – Yeah. – [Dave] Just checking. – [Andrew] How’d you support yourself while this was not working? – I didn’t. My beautiful wife did. She had two jobs at the time to support me while I was wrestling and doing these things and she was the one that made it possible to be able to gamble and risk and try crazy things.

[Audience applause] – What did you see in him back then that let you say, “I’m gonna work extra hard and pay for what he’s not doing?” -What did I see in him? It was actually his energy, his spirit was always positive and we had the same goals. – [Andrew] That’s the thing I noticed too. The positivity.

How did you cut up your credit cards? What was that day like? – Hard.  Yeah, hard because those of you don’t know- that know that I’m a little bit older than Russell and so I’ve always had this independency to go do and buy and do these things.

And then all of a sudden I’m like, “Oh, step back sista.  “Gotta take care of this young man so we can get to where we’re at.”  Anyway, but now… yeah. – Now things are good. – Now things are amazing.  – [Andrew] I stopped asking about religion but I get this sense that you believe that- is any of this, does it feel divinely inspired to you?

Be honest. – I believe that that God gives us talents and gifts and abilities and then watches what we do with it. And if we do good, he increases our capacity to more. We definitely, especially inside the office we talk about this a lot. We definitely feel what we do is a spiritual mission. Like it’s- – [Andrew] You do? – Hundred percent. Yeah, I don’t- I don’t think that it’s just like we’re lucky. I think the way that the people have come.

The partnerships like how it was created is super inspired. – [Andrew] You know what? A lot of us are selling things that are software, PDF, guide, this, that. It’s really hard to find the bigger mission in it. You’re finding the bigger mission in funnels. What is that bigger mission? Really, how do you connect with it?

Because you’re right. If you can find that bigger meaning, then the work becomes more meaningful and the people you’re working with become- It’s more exciting to work with and more meaningful to do it. How’d you find it in funnels? What is the meaning? – [Russell] So right now, as of today I think we had 68 thousand members in Click Funnels, which is like the big number we all brag about but for me it’s like that’s 68 thousand entrepreneurs.

Each one has a gift, right?And so I think about- one member I’ll mention his name. It’s Chris Wark. He runs Chrisbeatcancer.com and Chris was someone who came down with cancer, and given the death sentence and instead of going through chemotherapy decided, “I’m gonna see if I can heal myself.” And he did.

Cleared himself of cancer and then instead of just like, “Cool” and go back into work he was like, “Man, I need to help other people.” So he started a blog, started doing some things. When I got done wrestling, I didn’t work out for like, eight years, I gained a bunch of weight and I didn’t believe that it affected performance. You know that brain fog you get sometimes? I used to get it all the time. When I finally started to try to get back in shape, lost some weight, it’s amazing how much clearer things were.

It’s easier to focus. the more your body is running optimally, the more your mind runs optimally. Eventually, Alex Charfen talked about this, he said, if you had a million dollar race horse, what would you do with it? And say, oh well you’d feed it the best food, give it the best supplements, you’d take care of it, all these kinds of things, And he’s like, so then how can you bring a multimillion dollar year business, when you treat yourself like a race horse. (upbeat music) If you wanna be at peak performance all the time, it’s not just your mind, it’s your body.

They go hand in hand. (upbeat music). – You want the truth? The truth is, I’m a huge believe in having a trainer. Many times when I come to the gym and just basically lift weights and do nothing, and having a trainer actually keeps you accountable. You just have to have a coach in life in every aspect. – This right here, this is Mark Schultz, and he was my wrestling coach at BYU. My roommate and I were sitting in our dorm room and all of a sudden we heard this knock on the door.

We open the door an it’s coach Shultz. He’s an olympic champ, he went to the UFC, and probably one of the toughest human beings on this planet. – [Announcer] Too much blood even for the ref. – [Russell] He hands me this VHS video tape, it says total violence on it, and he’s like, this is all my best wrestling mat moves. He’s like, watch this every day and you’ll become a better wrestler.

I was like okay, and he’s like, wait hold on. Go get your wallet. I hand it to him, he opens it up, looks at my money, takes it all out of this wallet, puts it in his pocket, and hands me back an empty wallet. Coach, what’s going on? Why’d you take my money? And he’s like, I’m gonna teach you a lesson right now, that’ll serve you for the rest of your life. He’s like, if I gave you that tape, he’s like, you’ll never watch it.

But now that you’ve invested everything you have, all the money you have in it, because you invested everything, he’s like, you’ll… you’re gonna use it, your gonna watch it, you’re gonna pay attention and you’ll become a better wrestler because of it. I learned the moves, I became a better wrestler, all because I invested in my education. So as soon as we get done lifting today, we’re gonna crafts on it and freeze, because that would get our brain at optimal performance.

Alright, so what’s gonna happen, we turned it on, it’s gonna drop to about negative 140 degrees Celsius. – Geeze it’s so cold.   The entire thing will fill up with like, liquid nitrogen and we’ll jump in and you stay in for about three minutes. It feels like we’re sitting on an iceberg! [Videographer] – Now for men, is this gonna cause permanent shrinkage at all? – And then after that we’ll be heading in. The team is already there early this morning getting everything set up.

They’re setting up an actual telethon. – [Mark Schultz] You have never gone through the experience of paying for information. How can you sell the idea someone should pay for information? And I’ve found that if they’ve never done it, I don’t want them as a speaker, the obstacle is too hard for me to overcome, but if someone is adept, I took every penny and every dollar in my wallet to get information I needed.

When you told me that story long ago, it resonated with me. That’s exactly why you’re good at this, because you know what it feels like to give up everything in your wallet to get something that you know is gonna make a difference to you. (music beat) – Yeah I think of all the things that we do, I think the Funnel Hacking Live is probably the most important, most valuable thing that we produce and put on.

It costs us over a million dollars to put on the event. And I want every entrepreneur to be there. But the problem is, is also of everything we sell, it’s by far the hardest thing to sell. You think about software information products, it’s like an impulse buy, right? With this, it’s not impulse buy because someone’s gotta go and they have to get work off, and they have to convince their spouse, and they have to find babysitters for their kids, and they gotta flight and hotels and tickets are selling really well and consistently, but we need more tickets.

We need to do some big things to sell tickets. We had a meeting probably two or three weeks ago, and we’re just like, okay, what can we do to sell tickets and we’re brainstorming a bunch of ideas and all of a sudden in my head, I have no idea how it popped into my head but I started remembering PBS and little telethons that I used to watch as a little kid. – [TV Host] Call in and use credit cards.

[Russell Brunson] They show you a movie like Wizard of Oz, and so the whole family watching the Wizard of Oz and then in the middle it would stop and hey, really quick before we keep you from watching the show, the way we are able to stay on T.V. as a network is, we raise funds, and they had the host and behind the host was all these people who were taking calls, and like, call this number and donate some money to keep us on air.

And all of a sudden I was like, what if we did a telethon? I don’t know, what if we just did a fun show, I just tell stories and then we got people behind me answering calls and trying to get people to call in and then, when are we doing it, we’re like, oh, in a week and a half from now. (upbeat music) – This is one of those things that could be like the most brilliant marketing idea in the history of marketing as we know it. Or it could be the biggest train wreck we know. – [Announcer] Five, four, three, two, one, we’re live! – [Russell Brunson] We’re actually live? – [Announcer] We’re live! – Ah we’re live! And so we saw PBS telethon, we do webinars all the time so, like partially this webinar pitch, but it’s also infomercial.

If you watch an infomercial you know that people are flipping the channels all the time, so infomercials for like a 26 and a half minute infomercial they will repeat the call action three times.  This is the same thing as some people’s Facebook feeds, or YouTube feeds, and right away we’re jumping in, so we have to make the entire sale argument. Every, about 10 minutes we start from the beginning and re-tell it, hook people in, give them your side, and have the sales again, so it kept happening. That’s the whole game of marketing, right? It’s like hook, story, offer, and grab them and get the attention long enough to be able to make your message. – So I already showed you guys the video from our very first Funnel Hacking Live ever where we had over 600 people. The second Funnel Hacking Live was where we had 1200 people there. Third one was in Dallas, 1500 people and this was the first year that Tony Robbins came. (energizing music) This is from our last Funnel Hacking Live where we raise over a million dollars for Operation Underground Railroad.

(clapping) Yeah, so it’s weird because we have no idea what what’s the goal, like, I don’t know, say 100 or 500, we have no idea. I think when we left last night, it was like 160 or so tickets had been sold.

Which one thing is exciting, but the second thing is by the time I left yesterday, over 17,000 people had viewed the telethon which is cool because that means 17,000 people who didn’t buy, are the ones right now talking to their spouse, talking to their kids, trying to see if the dates will work, trying to get work off, and so, it will linger for the next, probably, three or four weeks afterwards.

And then now that it’s done and it’s live on Facebook and on YouTube, and now we’re buying ads to it so, so we’ll continue to keep seeing this for the next couple of weeks. You have the overhead camera and what’s the overhead light for? – So the overhead light actually separates Russell, ’cause if you can see, we’re shooting on a black background and Russell kind of has dark hair and so without that light, he would kind of fall away, I guess, so this actually separates him from the background. – Very cool, and what’s this light back here for? – It’s these two lights, actually, these are the side lights and these will actually light up the whiteboard.

The idea is to have it evenly lit, so that’s why we have two, they’re both at the same height. – [Cameraman] So I write stuff right here and you see this is what’s gonna show up on the camera right there. Oh yeah. – And then we’ve got, what I absolutely love is the Keynote Flow Celeb 200, that is an expensive light only for Russell Brunson, – Just for surprise. – who is a celebrity, as you all know. – A celeb. So this one lights this direction and this one lights this direction to get rid of all the glare. – Correct. And then this one is what creates like a nice glint in the eye, which I absolutely love. And if you don’t know, pay attention to anything of Russell’s videos, he always has a glint in his eye ’cause if he doesn’t, then I haven’t done my job. –

(jazzy music) – We’re waiting for John. John’s got the magic numbers about ready to come out here. Telling people exactly where does the bullpen sit. – Okay, alright, ready for this? – No. – Oh man. – Some AdSense has been turned off, camera. –

So why would you turn something off? – Over-perform and we can’t keep up. (laughs) This was one of those scenarios, you know, Stephen Larsey used to tell this story. He’d go in, he’d build a funnel for somebody and they’d say “Oh my gosh, this is awesome” and then the next day, they’d say “Turn it off, turn it off!” Almost bankrupt them, ’cause there’s so many sales coming through, the exact same thing happened with me with my hook, so, mine was turned off because it was doing too well. – [Dave] John, does that sound… –

Well the almost bankrupting part’s true, it just didn’t make any sales (laughter) – [Dave] Alright, JP, what do we got? – Josh is in first place. – What? – Pulling ahead even more of Nick – What? – by about a dollar and… No, 98 cents. (clapping) – Way to go! – [John] In second place is Nick. Next place comes in Karen pulled up to third place. – Oh no! – Kevin comes in fourth place. Jake is in fifth place. – [Cameraman] And this two (mumbles) stuff is getting insane.

So, as you can see here, this wall, all filled up. We’re gonna have to like move light switches and thermostats and everything else. It’s even behind the door here, it’s over the top of the door, it’s coming down the side. We’re running out of wall space because, on the other walls, we have our eight figure award, the big “X”. Ten million dollars. Due to the light, you can’t see it very well, but show you on this side here. Basically, we’ve got six of them there, we’ve got 12, so basically that’s 18, 19.

We actually have four more and they’re filling in this. We’re probably gonna have to move this painting. I don’t know what we’re gonna do. We have more awards than we have wall space right now. So, we’re actually gonna be, actually out here there’s dirt. We’re buying this lot, right back here, to build another building, just so we can have wall space.

What are these? Alright, so they’re asking what’s the story behind it, so I’m gonna tell you my side of the story, then Dave’s got his side of the story, ’cause this is a good story. So Dan Kennedy has a course called The Brass Balls Factor.

It’s a copyrighting course teaching you that if you wanna be like a really expensive, highly paid copyrighter, the big secret is you have to be able to quote your prices with a straight face. And then, he was telling the story about how like the first time he quoted a guy like, I don’t know, like 50 thousand dollars for a sales letter, the guy’s like “whoa!” He’s like “Where’s your wheelbarrow?” And he goes “What do you mean?” He’s like “The wheelbarrow you used to wheel in those brass balls. He’s like how did you quote me 50 thousand dollars for a letter?”

Anyway, so the whole course called Brass Ball Factor and like how to actually charge what you’re worth. So that was kind of a funny thing. So then, fast forward a couple years later, after we listen to that course, we had our sales floor and we were selling everything for like 25 hundred bucks, trying to get the sales guys to sell for five grand or ten grand but they’re all scared of it ’cause they’re like (mumbles) “it’s only worth 25 hundred” I’m like “No, dude  it’s  worth way more,”

So we bought these initially and we had the brass balls award for whoever could pitchand close the highest deal of the week got the brass balls on their desk for the entire week and it was so scary to find one guy sold it for five grand and was like “Oh!” And he got brass balls and everybody else wanted them, so they started selling five grand and then started going to six and then seven and then it became the award that got put on the desk of whoever pitched the highest deal.

Then, fast forward to… – Affiliate challenge. But I was so excited. One of my very first, I had just met Russell, I was so excited to find a way of actually selling his products, and I thought, if I could sell his products, maybe he would become my friend. (laughs) – That’s the secret, by the way, just sell my products. I’m just kidding. – It’s the world, it always works that way. And so I tried as hard as I could, and I built a list and I had thought, you know what, all the prizes out there, the one I want is this, the brass balls.

Because I have four boys, and with four boys in the house, there’s a ton of testosterone going on and I thought, this would be one of the best lessons I could ever teach my kids. And I remembered Dan Kennedy’s story, ’cause when I followed Dan, I thought, I want my kids to grow up with this ability to be able to ask for anything and get it. And so I thought that would be like the best token. So I did everything I could and I forget how many I sold, but I got it, and I was so excited. So they sat up on my shelf and my kids were like “What is that?” And so they were, brass balls became the big thing in the Woodward household, anytime anyone did something really cool, it was like “dude, you got brass balls.”

The old set is very worn. – Those aren’t brass anymore. – These aren’t brass because these actually got thrown in our pool (laughs) because they’re boys, so they, they were throwing them at each other, they became shot puts, these were very well used and so I’m sitting there thinking, we have this amazing contest coming up and I want it to be something really super cool. So I was listening to Dan Derek’s course, and he reminded me, you have to have something for every tier, and I thought, we need to have a tier where people get the brass balls. So I asked Myles to order, to see if they still made them and that’s – Oh, they still got them. –

What’s more is that it can be extremely difficult to get to that person. – Okay, so Jack just asked a question. “How do you get past the gatekeepers to the decision makers?” Alright, so this is something to understand. So here is any office on planet Earth, right? Here’s the front door of that office and somehow, and then out front there’s like, usually there’s, this is like chess, like think about playing chess. Right, outside there’s like the first guard, and there’s usually a table or something.

They’re like, “Hello, how can I help you?” right? And then somehow you pass that guard, then there’s like, all the other people here, right, you have to get through, then back here is like, the person you’re trying to get to. Here’s the decision maker. Like, “I must get to this person, and if I get to them, all my wildest dreams come true,” right? And usually next to the decision person there’s another guard that’s blocking him, right? ‘Kay. So here’s what you have to understand.

This is like, how it all works. So, if you try coming in the front door, you’re gonna get stopped right here at the first person, and they’re gonna come back, and be like, “There’s some crazy person at the front door.” Now I’m only saying that ’cause this happens all the time, in front of my office here. Just so you guys are fully aware, ‘kay? And I’m like, and they come back, there’s some crazy person, I’m like “Ah, get ’em away,” ’cause I don’t know who they are, and they show up with a gun, who knows?

Funnels Sales Strategy: Gatekeeper?

You never know, right? And so you don’t wanna be that crazy person. So, this is the strategy you have to think through, ‘kay? This person is the decision maker that you are trying to get to. The problem is that they’re making so many decisions, they don’t make the initial set of decisions. This person next to ’em? This is the gatekeeper. This is the person you care about, ‘kay?

Now this person can be the assistant, it could be a spouse, it could be a lot of things. One of the number one mistakes I see people having all the time, when my wife and I are flying, almost every time we fly now, we get approached by somebody, and they’ll come up and be like, “Ah Russell,” and they’re so excited to meet me, they’re like, “Ah Russell,” and my wife’s sitting there, and I’m like, “Hey it’s my wife Collette,” and then they’re like, “Oh hi.” They look back at me, and they totally blow my wife off, right?

Guess what happens. Instantly my wife’s like, “I don’t like that person,” and then I see my wife, I always see her all the time, she’ll be like, she’ll ask a specific question, like, someone will say something, and she’ll like, oh, and she’ll say something to that person, and then that person will like, blow her off or ignore her, or whatever, and then, and I’m very aware of it, she’s very aware of it, and the person is usually so excited they don’t even notice it, but they offended the decision maker, ‘kay?

Funnels Sales Strategy: Get A Meeting With Anyone

Now I don’t care how cool you are in the future, you’re never gonna get past all the gatekeepers, because my wife will be like, “Oh that’s the person that blew me off in the airport,” or, “That’s the person who didn’t give me the time of day. “That’s the …” You know what I mean? Same thing with my assistant, Melanie. Same thing with my assistant Melanie, like, all my decisions will go through her initially, right, and if she’s been treated good, like, there’s people that treat her really good, that know her, and then they get through the gatekeeper. So like, I look at it like, how do I do Dream 100 to the decision maker?

How do I appeal to this person, because this is the person that actually matters, because if it doesn’t get past that person, it’ll never get to you as a whole. And so for me, it’s all about figuring it out, like who are the people? There’s a big person I was trying to get ahold of, and I actually got some of that person’s time, and so what I did is I sent the spouse of that person a gift, and the person called me the next day, like in tears, and was like, “No one in my 20 years of doing business has ever thanked my wife for my time, and the fact that you did that, now we’ll be friends and partners for life.”

We’ve got tons of deals together because of that, right? ‘Cause I was very aware of the person supporting the decision maker. Other times when I’m like, “I need to get the decision maker,” I’m like, “Okay, who’s the person supporting the decision maker? “How can I make their life better? “What can I send them? “Can I send them gifts? “Can I contact them? “How do I build a relationship with them when I’m at an event?”

And don’t try to bombard this person who’s already got a million people talking to ’em, and going crazy, and like, I just know from my personal standpoint, every time I go to an event, I get 50 thousand people asking me questions, and I’m so overwhelmed I don’t even know what’s happening, the smart ones walk over to my assistant, or walk over to my partners, and they talk to them, and that person then comes back to me later, like, “Oh did you meet so and so?

Funnels Sales Strategy: This person’s awesome,” and that’s how you get around, is by befriending the gatekeeper. So it’s not, “How do I get past the gatekeeper?” How do you build a relationship with the gatekeeper? ‘Cause they are the gatekeeper. So there’s the big secret for those who were wondering. – Russell, you were mentioning yesterday in your talk that oftentimes you’re mistaken for like, oh I look 11 years old. Oh, poor Russell, looks like he’s 11, awww. (audience laughing) You know Russell, have you considered my friend, maybe the fact that you made a product on how to build potato guns might have made people think you were 11? I dunno, I’m just, just a theory.

Just a theory. – My name is Russell Brunson and I’m part of an underground group of entrepreneurs that you’ve probably never even heard of before. We don’t rely on cash from venture capitalists to get started and we don’t even have goals to go public either.

In fact, our motivation is the exact opposite. You see, we have products and services and things that we know change people’s lives. Because we’re fighting against the big brands, people with literally unlimited budgets, we have to do things differently.

We have to do things smarter. We don’t have financial safety nets, because every test we take is with our own money. We have to be profitable from day number one. So how do we do that? How’s that even possible? If you ask the MBAs or look in your college text books they will tell you that what we are doing is impossible, yet it’s happening every single day. And it’s happening through an art and a science that we call Funnel Hacking. It’s not really something that I can explain to you, it’s something I have to show you.

(energetic music) Every year people ask me, how do I pick the speaker for Funnel Hacking Live?

When I first met Sean Stephenson for the first time, I knew within half a second, it’s like I want Sean on our stage. Now, I had no idea that he was going to spend the first like 15 minutes of the presentation roasting me and making fun of me, but it was really really cool for a couple reasons. One, it was cool to see how it tied the audience and bonded it them to him. Which was really cool.

And second off, it was just always funny to hear what people really think about you. – You’re so clean and good. How many people, deep down inside have a little bit of the feeling that I have, you would just love to see Russell like in sweatpants with like Cheetos whipped on ’em and like, and you know, he’s like angry, and his hair’s all messed up, and he’s like cussing like a sailor.

How many people? Am I the only one that fantasizes about this? (audience laughing) (audience applauding) – Every Funnel Hacking Live we’re trying to build a storyline of like, of what are… the community as a whole, what are they struggling with? Where are they stuck?

What are they trying to figure out? And so many people in our community are trying to get their message, trying to get their voice, trying to get things out. And they get frustrated and struggle by the fact that they’re trying to help all these people. And a lot of times, no matter how many people you try to help, a lot of times you just can’t help them.

A lot of times it’s family members or friends or people that you’re trying to figure out, how can I change that person’s life? But they won’t come and listen to your product or your service or the thing that you’re trying to sell. And one of my favorite parts of Sean’s presentation is when he talked about that.

Talked about how do you know who to save? How do you know who to help first? And so I actually wanna show you guys that clip from Funnel Hackering Live, ’cause it’s one of my favorite from clips from all the speakers ever inside of Funnel Hacking Live was this part of the presentation that Sean gave. –

How many people have ever made a video on YouTube or Facebook and it only had like 10 to 30 or 100 views, and you kinda were pissed? Oh! I wish I had more visibility. Well these 15 souls needed what you just sent. When the Coast Guard goes out on a stormy night to rescue a boat that has capsized. They bring their helicopter and they hover over top of the boat and they realize, there’s more people in the water than there’s space in the helicopter. Who do they save?

You know what their motto is? We can only save the people who swim toward us. I can only help those that swim toward me. You will go nuts if you try to help people that do not want your help, but claim that they do. The moment you try to help somebody and they push you back and push you back, you have to say look, you know what? I love you, I’m gonna be over there. Hopefully you’ll swim toward me at some point. If you don’t, this helicopter’s leaving.

The quickest way for you to drown is to try to help somebody that’s flailing around in the water. Or that’s swimming away from you, when there’s all these people that are actually wanting to swim toward you. You know those 15 likes on that YouTube video of yours? They’re the ones swimming toward you. (water sloshing) – As you can tell from that clip, Sean’s entire presentation was amazing. But that was definitely the part that was most impactful for me. Understanding that we can’t help and save everybody, but we can start working towards helping those people who are swimming towards us.

And a lot of times inside of our community, people ask me, how do I get my message out? How do I find the people and get them to come to me? And I think at first it takes you learning your voice and finding it, practicing. Doing Facebook Lives, doing podcasts, doing things to kind of figure out what your message is. And as you start doing those things, people will start resonating with you which is magical.

But then the second piece is like, how do you capture that story in a way that’s really gonna be impactful for people? Because Sean gave us such an amazing gift at Funnel Hacking Live, we wanted to give him a gift as well, so we decided to jump in a plane, both Brandon Fisher and I, and fly to Arizona to help capture Sean’s story in a way that he could use to bring more people to him. – [Sean] (voice drowned out by music) bacon, try that. – (chuckles) Oh yeah.

What we got Sean? – [Sean] All right, let’s get going. – [Russell] All right Sean, what does Snoop Dogg wash his clothes with? – Bleaaach. (upbeat music) – Now when we first came to Arizona, we were planning on making one core video, but after spending time with Sean and the white board mapping a bunch of things out, we decided that it wasn’t just one video we needed.

We actually needed probably about three or four different indoctrination videos to take somebody on a journey, help them understand who Sean was and build a connection with him, build rapport and make them want to be working closer with him. And so that’s what we kinda decided. And so we went and actually went and filmed these videos capturing Sean’s story and I wanna show you just one of ’em right now. – People are always curious about like, have I always been this positive?

Have I always had a good outlook on life and I said, you know, it really all stems back to one moment. I was having challenges growing up with broken bones with my condition and people would stare at me. And I’ve dealt with a lot of challenges living in this container. And my favorite day of the year was Halloween. I loved Halloween. And most kids like Halloween ’cause the costumes and the party and the candy. But I loved it because it was the one day out of the year that everybody got dressed up, and I could finally blend in. And it was like a magical day where I didn’t have a disability in people’s eyes.

And my mom was in the kitchen and she was packing up our lunches and she was getting everything out to the minivan and I was laying on the floor and I was rolling around. And I catch my left leg on the corner of the door and I bent it back and I snapped it at the femur. And in that moment, there’s a bit of a time delay between hearing the sound of a snap and feeling the pain.

But it’s like an eternity because you know what’s coming. And I was just so angry, because I knew I was gonna miss the party and I knew I was gonna miss that one day where I got to feel normal. And my mom comes running in the room and she kneels down beside me.

See, she could just calm me down, there’s nothing really she could do for me medically, because my bones couldn’t be set like somebody else’s, taken to the hospital. And so my mom just had to keep me immobilized for four to six weeks whenever I would break a bone.And she would play this game with me, as any parent who would wanna take their children away from pain, she said, what was your favorite part about our last vacation? But that day, I was so angry. And she could see that anger in my eyes. So she leaned back and she formulated another question. And then she

asked me, Sean, is this going to be a gift or a burden in your life? And I’m thinking is she crazy? A gift. And something magical happened though, before I could respond. It’s like I got clarity on my life. And I realized that she was basically saying, are you going to use this as an excuse the rest of your life as why you’re not happy and why you’re not gonna take a positive outlook? Or are you gonna use this as an example for yourself and others to love your life amidst your pain, ’cause we all fracture.

We all have fractures in our marriage or fractures in our business or fractures in raising our children. And when you find that there’s a purpose to your pain, it doesn’t make the pain go away. It just gives you the fuel to keep going through it and know that it’s not gonna be there forever. And it really just shifted my whole attitude about life. I realized that you have control over what you make things mean and how you interpret things. And was in that moment I really honestly started to see myself as on a mission here in this container.

The purpose of this whole club is to bring together a group of people who wanna support each other and empower each other to win. You have to have a tribe. You cannot succeed alone in life. It’s hard to go through life by yourself and try to be the only person that is picking yourself back up. It’s good to be in a space where you have people that are not just your cheerleaders, but giving you good suggestions on how you can handle those challenges, so it’s something I’m really excited about because this is where people can go to get their mind and their heart on the same page. –

As you can tell, Sean’s got an amazing story. But people always ask me like Russell, how do I do videos like that? And they think that they need emotional videos, like they think that they need to be crying. And they record a video and they don’t cry and they’ll try again, be like, I didn’t cry. It’s not emotional. But you don’t understand, emotion’s not just crying. Like there’s a time and a place for that.

But emotion is excitement, it’s energy, it’s showing how you actually feel. If you watch any of my videos, watch this video, I’m excited right now as you can probably tell from my eyes and my voice and my, my voice fluctuations, and people are attracted to energy. So the more emotion you can show could be, it could be emotional crying, it could be sad, it could be happy, it could be joy, it could be just energy, it could be excitement. Like that’s the key to really making a video that people are gonna emotionally connect with, it’s actually showing your true emotion about how you feel.

I know that sometimes when you put a camera on, you get nervous and you get awkward. But the key is is really getting, coming back to a state and remembering what it was that got you so excited and then telling people that story from that state. If you do that, they’re gonna feel exactly what you felt when you were in that state the first time it actually happened to you. Want more marketing secrets? And if you remember the episode a little while ago, the 24 episode where we built that three or four funnels in a 24 hour period of time. One of the funnels we built was for a product called WakeShake. And the WakeShake video, if I’m completely honest, when all was said and done, we weren’t very happy with it. And we wanted to redo it. We wanted to make something that was funnier, something that caused emotion and we got people to laugh. But also something that placed a seed of doubt.

One of the most powerful selling mechanisms we have, one of the most powerful tools is to place a seed of doubt inside the mind of the customer for all the other alternatives besides your product and your service. And so from this video, we wanted to place a seed of doubt showing that whey is the thing that causes the problems. Everyone around you will be happy you did. – So the important lesson in what you learned from this is that every time you put a video out there, it’s not always gonna work the first time. Sometimes you have to do it over and over and over again. But have fun with the process, make it enjoyable. Like all of us are literally running our own little mini ad agencies which is so exciting to think about. And so have some fun with the creative and figure out how to capture the stories in a video that’s gonna get somebody to move and take action.

Now, next video I wanna share with you guys that we created was one for a friend named Tim Larkin. Now Tim runs a business teaching people self defense, but not normal self defense. This is basically, if somebody comes and attacks you, how do you, how do you put them out? How do you pop their eyeball out? How do you kill them by karate chopping them in the throat before they have a chance to attack you? And he’s told me that for a long time and he wanted some help with the funnel. I said, okay, this is the deal.

I would love to help you with the video for your funnel, but first off, I want you to come to Boise and to actually train me and train my team so that way if somebody meets me in the street, I can pop their eye out or choke them out, whatever it is we needed to do. And so lucky for us, Tim and his entire team flew out and gave us a two day training in my wrestling room, showing us how to defend ourselves in case of an attack. (man grunting) – Strike.

First or second knuckle, we want all five of them to be wet. And I do this. (man grunting) There, if I’ve done that correctly, coming off the wall with my body weight. And the eyes available to me. Hit high sternum, it goes right up into the neck every time. It’s gonna resist for a second, and then break. And what we’re doing is we wanna compress and crush the bone. Find the target, strike the target.

When you’re throwing something with body weight… Finding targets. Without doing anything, I’d much rather be here. Everything I need right now is here and that’s back there. Come through. (man grunting) (man yelling) Want that eye. (energetic music) (man screaming) – All right, and after Tim spent two days with us training us, which we had so much fun, we started looking at his funnel to figure out why it wasn’t working as well as they wanted to.

One of the biggest problems was the ads they were using were all showing tons and tons of violence. Which worked good through emails and through banner ads, but when you started trying to go to Facebook and other platforms, they just don’t allow violence in their video ads and things like that. I said, you know, Tim your story’s amazing, let’s try to capture it in a way that’s not violent, showing people attacking each other, but it’s finding a way that’s emotional.

Actually telling your story like why you do what you do, why you’re so passionate about it. And so we set up a camera and we had a chance to capture this story of Tim telling his story about why he does what he does. – One of the presentations I did, they took us all on a really nice cruise. And they had asked me at one point, that a lot of the girls were going off to college in the next year, and everybody’s concerned about their self protection. And would I do an extra class where the dads and the daughters could come and they could go through a training.

I had one girl that came in, and she truly, if you’ve seen the movie Legally Blonde, this was the Reese Witherspoon character in life. I mean totally had the L.A. talk down and she was not happy that Dad had her come and take away two days basically, of the cruise. She went through the course and she did, she did everything. And about two and a half years later, she came in unannounced to one of my New York seminars. And she knew right away, she looked at me, she goes, “Oh you haven’t heard what happened.” I don’t know, what happened?

She had gone to college that following year. She had a dorm room on the first floor of a dorm, they constantly left their door and their windows open. The the guy that attacked her had been casing the place for about two weeks. And he got their patterns down. And he understood that her roommate would spend at least two to three nights a week with her boyfriend in another part of the campus. And one night she woke up literally to a guy on top of her. You know, he was a 230 pound male. And the first thing that popped into her head was the training that she had with us. And she understood that bigger, faster, stronger threat, he’s on top of me, I can’t change this. But I also know, I only have that one chance.

She was able to draw him in, he adjusted and when he did that, he brought his head closer. And that’s when she was able to reach around and attack his eye. And she knew to hold on to him, ’cause he’s much bigger, stronger, because she knew that people violently react away from that type of an injury. So much so, that he pulled her up off the bed and then went down, hit the hardwood floor. When they hit the hardwood floor, she kinda felt his body just kinda relax (inhales deeply) go like that, and that gave her her opportunity to run down the hall and start screaming for help. By the time they came back, the rapist had asphyxiated and died.

They later found out this guy had been going for the last six years to various campuses and doing this type of sexual assaults on women. When I hear from somebody like this girl, or I’ve had various doctors, people that are there just trying to help people who are just completely innocent, it makes it all worth while to do that. Because oftentimes you’re not sure. You know like with her, I didn’t think I reached her at all. I’m gonna literally show you how to injure the human body, break a structure or sensory system in the human body to save your life.

And you’re gonna know physiologically what happens to the body and why you need to be able to do that. And what the ramifications are. And the idea is if the brain has not gone there before, it won’t be there for you. And the perfect example is in sexual assaults. Oftentimes with women, the perpetrator, when they catch him, he’ll have scratches all down his face, all down his face. So you know that she had the ability to reach to there.

All that did was put his skin underneath her fingernails. Now that helps solve her murder. Whereas if she just understood that if she just penetrated the plane into the eye, that would affected a real injury that would have given her a much better chance of surviving that situation. Unfortunately, to get people there and to have them train correctly, I have to give them physical training of how to actually protect themselves when they have no choice. And that involves using the tool of violence. –

Now the last video we’re gonna dive into today was a really fun project we had. It was a product we created called Funnel Graffiti, which was basically these little stickers, you could go and you could put it on a window or on a mirror and map out your funnels before you build them inside of click funnels. And so, we have the product, we’re trying to figure out what’s a fun, exciting way we can make a video for this?

So I called up Brandon, had him come over. I called Jared and Nicole, we sat down, we started brainstorming like, how can we make something fun and exciting to get people to wanna buy this product? And so we started brainstorming like, what are all the different ways people build funnels right now? And one of our, it was kinda funny was, maybe in the shower you’re mapping it out in the shower. And then we kinda took it to the next level, like what if you use the wife’s lipstick and actually mapped it out with lipstick in the shower?

What if the couple’s out to lunch or out to dinner and they’re making it inside their food? We talked about, there’s this place in downtown Boise called Freak Alley which is this big, huge graffiti street. And they rent out different spots, different local artists to come and do new graffiti. And we thought how cool would it be if we could actually like graffiti us doing a funnel there as well.

And it’s kind of a funny story, ’cause we called them up and it just turned out, it happened to be that they, once a year they bring in new artists to go and do graffiti here in Freak Alley, and it was just during that time when they’re about to have new artists come in. They said, well, you can come in, but you got like a one day window. You have to get the whole thing done today, because day the new artist’s coming in with all the new graffiti. And so I called up my buddy Rob and if you haven’t met Rob yet, Rob did all the graffiti design painting in my wrestling room.

He’s done tons of logo design art for us. He’s one of the most amazing, talented designers I’ve ever met in my life. I call him, I said, Rob, I wanna fly you to Boise to come do Funnel Graffiti and literally spray paint funnels on the side of a wall. And obviously he was in. We flew him down and went to Freak Alley to go and create some of the footage for the Funnel Graffiti video. (electronic music) – Okay, I’m ready to hit start. – [Man] Okay. – [Camera Man] Ready to run with this if he’s ready. – [Brandon] All right, so we got the time lapse set up.

We got a bunch of Kessler gear goin’. And then we’ve got other time lapses going. We’re just time lapsing time lapses that are time lapsing those time lapses. It’s getting pretty crazy. (gentle music) (spray can hissing) (spray can hissing) – What my dad would think. Whatever. – That’d be dope. (Russell mumbling) (paint mixers rattling) (Nicole hissing) (Jared yelling) – One of the other things I really wanted to do is I wanted a cop car, thought that’d be really really funny. But apparently it’s harder to get a cop to come and just flip the sirens on than we thought. So, Brandon figured out a way to make that possible. And so we had these cop car lights. (siren wailing) Anyway, it’s amazing and so I’m gonna show you guys the video for the Funnel Graffiti right now. (Nicole yawning) (water splashing) – Jared! – Honey, this is my book funnel.

All right, that project was a ton of fun, it was a lot of work, but it turned out really really cool and sold a ton of Funnel Graffiti for us. And so if you felt like even during this episode, watching these different videos, seeing what we did with Sean, seeing what we did with WakeShake, seeing what we did with Funnel Graffiti, any of these things, wanna understand that this is the type of artisticness that you gotta put into your funnels.

Funnels are very much like the science, like page one, page two, page three. But it’s the art that gets people to buy. It’s thinking like an ad agent, saying what are the videos that are gonna hook people? Make ’em laugh, make ’em cry, get them to wanna move forward and move towards you. And that’s really the goal of this entire episode we wanted to share with you is have some fun while creating your videos and your messaging because that’s what gets people to come towards you.
