– Hey this is Russell again, I want to welcome you back to part three of my interview with Tony Robins. I hope you’ve watched part one and part two. If you haven’t yet, go back to the beginning of this playlist and watch those first. Help you get all the context of the interview and now we are transitioning into the third part of the interview. Which is, for me, my favorite part. It is understanding the mastery and mastering a concept called the Epiphany Bridge. What is the Epiphany Bridge? It is the way you tell stories to get customers, to get people, to get prospects to come and become leads, become costumers to buy your products and your services. And these concepts they work in all types of businesses. In fact, during the interview, Tony asked me, well how does this work for a real business? Not a infomart, you know information business or an internet business, but a real business. And I shared a story about one of my friends whose a chiropractor. I don’t want to ruin that part of the story, you’re gonna love it. But, how he used these epiphany bridge stories to grow his practice here locally in town as well.

And so, there’s a whole bunch of cool things you can learn about storytelling, story selling, how to give people the transformations they need when their buying your products and your services. You’re gonna love this. It’s my favorite part of the whole thing, so let’s jump right in now to part three of the interview with my friend Tony Robins. – Tell us about the Epiphany Bridge and how you can use that concept to sell just about anything, without actually selling anything. – Actually, got a little white board for you to show this. I did my homework, prepared for today, so this is funny, most people if they’re trying to sell you something, they come to you and they try to pitch you logically on the thing, like why they believe in their thing. So I drew this out one day, and this has been huge for me and for everyone that goes through my coaching stuff. Is this thing called the Epiphany Bridge. What happens is like, this is us, right here, right? And we’re living our normal life, I could use this example, before I met you, before I started going to your things, life was good, I thought everything was perfect. And then I was introduced to you and I had this epiphany where it was like life is good, but I’m seeing things in black and white, now things are colorful.

For me, it was huge. So I went on this journey where I went on this big Epiphany Bridge and what happens is we come over here to this side of the bridge. What happens over here is we start studying, we start learning, we start geeking out. And so, I went to all your events, read all your books multiple times, your courses. For you, I’m in the Tony world, right? I understand your language patterns. And then I go to my wife and I’m so excited to tell her I learned all this stuff, and the first thing that we all do is we jump over here, and this says techno babble, we jump and we start trying to logically convince the people around us. Like, oh yeah, you could learn this thing, and we spew out this techno babble and they freak out. They’re like, “ugh” and they run away right? What we have to do, if we want to sell something to somebody, we have to come back to this thing. We have to remember what was the emotional experience that we had that gave us that big epiphany. If you understand an emotional experience, then that’s how you sell someone. I come back and I tell a story, when I tell that story, my goal is to get people to have the same epiphany that I had, if they have that same epiphany then I don’t have to sell them anything. They have that epiphany, they go “wow that’s true” and they’ll go sell themselves logically all day long.

I just have to come back here, remember the experience I had, and become really good at telling it. In the book, it’s not just like telling a story, I walk through like the process and the scripts, and how to control their state, and this is a huge thing I learned from you, ’cause how many people tell a story and one person tells a story and something happened, and you’re like “okay cool”, you try to explain it three or four times and finally you say, oh man, I guess you had to be there, if you were there you would’ve experienced it. The biggest thing I’ve always seen people struggle with they try to get into business, they try to sell their advice, and things like that, is they get into this used car salesman mode of trying to learn how to close people, and I’m like “no, it’s not closing” What was it that got you fired up, if you can remember that moment, and you get really good at telling that story then they’ll feel that and they’ll get fired up too, and that’s the key. And so we understand that and this book is all about that. – As you know leadership is all about transferring emotion because logic does not get us to take action, there’s not enough juice in the logic right? When will we have enough logic to justify an emotional decision?

What do think is the biggest misconception about marketing today, and what do people, if they only did one thing to change their marketing for the better, what would it be? – I think the biggest misconception is that people and this comes down to everything I learned from you, People are so tied to their significance that when they try to sell themselves their business that they try to posture themselves all the time and posturing deflects people, even though it makes you feel, I don’t know what it is, the more vulnerable you get, the better it is. We have our high end coaching programs for less, how do you sell that Russell? I’m like “I show a ten minute video of me telling my story of my wife and we’re trying to have twins, cried three or four times in it, and I tell that story, I’m super vulnerable, and people connect with me and then they follow me. It’s about connection and being vulnerable is that’s what get people to draw into you, it’s not significance or stature, its vulnerability, and that’s what gets people in. And that works for any business, I had a friend who’s a chiropractor, I was trying to help him, and it was funny, ’cause he was trying to sell like all the other chiropractors talked about their fees and all this stuff, and how the adjustment and alignment and all this technical stuff and I kept asking him, finally one day, I was like “why are you a chiropractor”, and he told me this amazing story about his wife got in a car wreck and he was in dental school at the time, and she got injured really really bad and took her to a medical doctor, a couple places and nothing helped.

Finally he took her to a chiropractor, and he adjusts her and literally changed her life and he loved it so much he dropped out of dental school, and then he went and became a chiropractor, now he loves it. And so we got a video of him telling that story, that emotional, I got chills just telling it again told that story, put it on Facebook, and his practice was struggling, as he was trying to be a salesperson, blew up overnight as he started sharing his story and becoming vulnerable with people. That’s the future market, it used to be slick sales letters, good copy, all that kind of stuff, that’s what worked before today, as people are watching your video, they’re Googling your name, and Facebooking you, doing everything, if you’re not vulnerable at all times, and being yourself all the time it’s too easy to not know and it’s all about just that connection, that’s marketing today, and that’s where it’s going. – That’s what I love about you brother, you’re the real thing, it’s so rare unfortunately, ’cause you know the more you try to prove you’re the best and try to convince people and try to be significant, the more they want to prove they’re more significant than you. – Hey everyone, this is Russell Brunson again, and I wanna welcome you back to part number two of my interview with the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Tony Robbins. If you haven’t watched the first part of the interview yet, go back up in the playlist and watch that one first, because you don’t wanna not watch that before you get to part number two. Now in the part number two, I’m excited for you because in here, we start diving deeper into the different types of businesses, and I go through two types of businesses I call ’em two expert businesses. One of ’em is where you become an expert selling your own products, like I was a potato gun expert, Tony Robbins is the personal development expert right?

So there’s that type of business, but the other side of it, which a lot of people don’t know about, is let’s say you already have a business, you’re selling physical products on Amazon or ecommerce things or you have a gym or maybe you are a chiropractor, or dentist, or financial planner like, if you have an existing business, you could also apply the expert strategies, that Tony and I are gonna talk about next, into your business. Now on top of that, you’re gonna learn a whole bunch of other things, like how do you create a tribe of people, what’re the three commonalities in every single tribe? Clickfunnels Business Success

Every mass movement that’s even been started from the beginning of time ’til now, what is a new opportunity, how do you create one, and a whole bunch of other amazing things, that you are gonna love, so with that said, let’s jump into part two of the interview with Tony Robbins. – You know in your book you talk about the two types of kind of expert businesses.

You know, the people who don’t wanna be an expert also, but just wanna grow their company, you know, how would this work for them as well? So many you can give us those differentiations so people have an understanding how to look at this. – Yeah definitely, so the first kind of expert business is one I think people are familiar with, is, I look at you like you are the king of this, right?

Like doing books and seminars and like positioning yourself as an expert, and that’s like a big piece of this, which is really really cool and I think anybody who’s got any kind of talent or specialized knowledge or something they’re passionate about can do that kind of business. And you can make great money, you can serve people.

But I know there’s a lot of people that come in my world they’re like, well, Russell, I don’t wanna do that, like I own a software company or supplement company or I’m a chiropractor or whatever those things might be, and it’s interesting like when I launched our software company, ClickFunnels, like, it’s just a, it’s a boring software company, and we’re competing against other boring software companies. And but I was able to take all these principles we teach in here and kind of attach like a person to a software company. Clickfunnels Business Success

And we took it from no members to, right now, actually today, we passed 40,000 active members inside of ClickFunnels.I think one of the fastest-growing non-VC backed startups in the world, and it’s because these principles like you take it, and it takes any kind of business and lights it on fire, in fact, I’ve got a friend who’s a financial planner and he’s, there’s how many financial planners, in Boise, Idaho, where I’m at, there’s, you know, a thousand of ’em here. But people come and they actually, they will fly over like 30 states to get to him, they’ll pay him 10 times more, and he does the exact same thing, because he’s positioned himself as this expert.

And we understand that it’s like man, like you can charge more, you’re no longer a commodity, people will come to you, you can serve people the higher level, like so many cool things come when you understand how to wrap these principles into any type of business, it doesn’t just have to be an expert business. -And I think, positioning as an expert you know, one of the things I love about what you do is you make sure the person is an expert. (laughter) So tell me, what’s the pattern that you started discovering, you talked about this in the book, that you know, every mass movement really starts with, I think it was three patterns, if I remember correctly. Yeah, it’s cool ’cause when I was creatin’ this book, and I’m just like you, like I learned this from you, I model everyone right? Clickfunnels Business Success

Look At The Best Business Experts: Clickfunnels Business Success

So I’m like okay, I’m building a software company, who do I model, who are the best out there? And I was looking at everything. Initially started the business, I look at like Apple and Steve Jobs and like, what did he do? And then I started looking at like Tesla, and Elon Musk and the I started taking a step back and I looked at politics and like, what are the people that are winning doing, versus the people that are losing, then I went and took another step back and I started studying everything from like.

The really negative like cult and how did they work and then religion, and everything in between and it was cool, as I was going deep into study, and I know you’ve done this before, you’re going through stuff and all of a sudden like, I started seeing this weird pattern. And I was in a point of immersion where I was like, for three or four weeks just geekin’ out, and it was cool as soon as I identified the pattern then I started looking at our company I was like, okay, we’re doing parts of this, or maybe one or two things, but now that I know it, how can we amplify and what are the things we can do to make it better, and so we started doing all of those pieces and then we tested them and then we’d see what would happen, and so the book’s kind of cool ’cause it gives you. And I’ll show you in a second, it shows you the strategy, here’s the three things that’ll happen, then it shows, here’s the practical application that we did inside ClickFunnels, we did these four things, and that’s what got us from, you know, 20,000 members to 30,000 within like a three month period of time, what’re those things, and so I’ll show you guys, in my books, I’m a big doodler. ‘Cause that’s how my brain works.

But like there’s tons of sketches, like this is a sketch from this so, this right here, this is the three things every mass movement from the beginning of time, all it’s had now kinda goin’ through real quickly, number one is all of ’em have some type of charismatic leader, and that’s a big thing ’cause it’s hard to connect to just a brand. Longer term you can do that, but initially, especially like, it’s a person you connect with that gets you to wanna follow.  The number two thing in the pattern is all of ’em had like a future-based cause, that they were taking people towards. And one of the coolest ways I found, I talk about this, I went through all the US elections from the one that just happened all the way back to like George Bush, or excuse me all the way back to George Washington and what’s interesting is I was able to find most of the campaign slogans on both the sides like Republican or Democrat, it didn’t matter who won, what party or whatever, but the ones that won, all the candidates had like a very future-based cause. Think about Trump was, let’s make American great again. And all the people that lost had a very present-based cause like Hillary had, I think hers, the two or three slogans of kind of hers like, I’m with her, and very present-based things.

Even back when Obama won, Obama’s all about change, and Bush wasn’t and then like, it’s interesting and so, I started realizing that and so inside of our big mass movement we were trying to create, I realized like, we need a future-based cause, like what is that, so we created one and then we figure out how to amplify it and we show all the examples of how we’ve done that, and that gets people to want to come with you. And then the third thing, and this is probably the least understood but I think the most important is every mass movement, they, the leader offered their people a new opportunity.

Which is, they didn’t come and try to just help people become better, but they were like look, this is a new opportunity I wanted to– – How would you define, so a lot of people don’t make that, I don’t sound simple, but how do you define a new opportunity if your mind? Yeah, so there– – So many people take something that currently exists, and they convert it into seemingly a new opportunity, I’m just curious, what’s your definition? – So for me I look at like, whatever customer we’re trying to serve, right, they’re coming to us and they want a result, so they have, this is the result I wanna get over here.

And usually, we’re not the first person they came to. Like usually, they’ve been trying to get this result for a while. And they’re in some vehicle, and I like visualize it as a vehicle, they’re in a car, they’re in a vehicle, they’re driving to get to that result, and so, what most people do in business success is they come and they sell what I call improvement offers, so they’ll come and like, oh that vehicle you’re in, well, it’s like, let me step back, so an example, let’s say you’re into weightloss, let’s say you wanna lose weight, so the vehicle you might be in, let’s say it’s the Atkins diet, or it could be whatever diet right?

Think of a New Opportunity: Clickfunnels Business Success

And that’s the vehicle, and they’re in that thing. And so an improvement offer’s coming back and what most people do is like hey, you’re in this thing, I’m gonna make that experience better for you, we’re gonna, whatever, they try to make it better. But the hard thing is that, someone knows what that experience is like, they’re in this vehicle, trying to get their result, and if they’re not happy like, they’re not happy, and it’s no matter how hard we try to make that process better, it’s gonna be, you’re always gonna have tons of friction.

Whereas if I come and say look, –  Compare you to them even if you’re different. – Yeah exactly, so if I come and I can create an actual new opportunity and say look, get out of the vehicle you’re in gettin’ that result, come over to this vehicle, it’s completely different it’s a new opportunity, this is what’s gonna take you over here, that’s how it cause issue changes. One of my favorites, it’s a friend you and I both have, Dave Asprey, he came in with his movement, he’s like look, you’re gonna eat high fat, put butter in your coffee, all sorts of things, and people are like what in the world? – Haven’t you ever heard of that description before? You told him he was nuts! (laughter) He’s gonna end up so genius. – Oh so brilliant, and everyone’s jumpin’ from their vehicles comin’ to here ’cause like, I don’t know what they’re doin’, but that sounds way better and they come over and he’s built a huge mass movement, huge company, supplement company, retail stores, everything based on this new opportunity he provided people and it was brilliant as you know.

– Hey everyone, my name is Russell Brunson and in a few seconds from now I’m gonna actually show you an interview recently I did with my friend Tony Robbins and I talking about how to start a business online. But before we get into the interview, in case we haven’t met yet, I just wanted to introduce myself.

My name’s Russell Brunson, I started a software company a few years ago called ClickFunnels.com, you may have heard of it. This year they did over $100 million in sales, which is kinda crazy. But this interview with Tony was all about you and how can you start a business online. And what a lot of people don’t even know is that when I got started initially, the first thing I sold, I talk about it with Tony, was a DVD teaching people how to make potato guns, yes. Potato guns like this.

And so that’s how I got started, selling things like this. So for you, it doesn’t matter what you’re selling. If you have a product, an idea, a service, something, this interview’s gonna help you understand how to actually sell your products and services online, which is exciting. Now this is the first of a three-part video series.

Each part is gonna walk through part of this interview with Tony. In the first part you’re gonna learn about how I got started and how you can get started as well. You’re gonna hear stories about people like Brandon and Kaelin Poulin who were just like you initially, didn’t have a business, but they were excited, and now they’ve launched this huge company, they sell products internationally all around the world and you’re gonna hear some of those stories during this interview, so. I’m excited for you, I hope you love this, you’re gonna learn all the tools and techniques you need to start your own business online and how I’ve done it, and you’re gonna have Tony actually interview me about the whole process, which is a ton of fun, so. With that said, let’s roll the video and check out the first part of the interview.

– I’ve known Russell for about, I think about 15 years, 14, 15 years now. I’ve got to know him really well over the last decade or so and what I love about Russell is, you know, so many people are looking for ways to maximize the business or to find a way to produce a secondary income and most of the stuff that you see online is disappointing would be the nicest word I could give for it. (laughing)

There’s just so many scams, there’s so much B.S., and what I love about Russell and the reason I wanted to introduce you two briefly today is he has a new book out called Expert Secrets. The subtitle is “Help you find your message, “build a tribe, and change the world.” You just hold that up so we can all see that. (laughs) – There it is. (laughs) – And, and it, it just, what I love about Russell is just, he’s the real thing.

Why don’t you share with my audience a little bit here about how you got started in this business and a little bit of your approach to and how it differs from so many other people out there. – Yeah, so. (laughs) I actually got started in this business, man, it’s been, feels like yesterday but it’s been, you know, 10, 15 years now. And it’s funny ’cause I, I was the same way a lot of people were, I didn’t know a lot about business, I was tryin’ different things and learning from different mentors, and, and one of the very first things I ever created, in fact I sent you the first one I made, actually, was a potato gun.

And we’re making those for fun, and we had so much fun makin’ potato guns and shooting ’em and having just like, the time of our life, and then one day, I, they did like, I wonder if anyone else besides me is interested in information about potato guns? And there was nobody out selling any plans or DVDs or anything, and so I thought, there’s my first opportunity, I’m gonna become a potato gun expert.

And we went and made a potato gun DVD, my friend and I recorded it, put it online and started selling it. And it never made me rich, but it was the first thing I sold online which started makin’, you know, 20 or 30 dollars a day and it was like, the coolest thing in the world.

And, and to see people like, take what you knew and actually do something with it. And that’s, for me it’s how it began. And, and then obviously my, I didn’t want my rest of my life to be known as a potato gun expert, (laughing) as much fun as that, that is, and I’m still into that business, or into that hobby, but. That’s how it kinda began and then I started branching out. And, and it. The kinda my next obsession, I started finding other people that were really good and I was like, “Man, these.” Like, one of my friends, I don’t know if you know Howard Berg now, world’s faster reader, we partnered with him and I was like, “You’re the world’s fastest, let’s like, “let’s create informations, like, selling what you do.”

And he, and we did projects together selling his information to other people’s and, and I started getting obsessed with like, helping other people to like, take what they knew and what they were good at and put it out there and, and sell it. And, and then out of the most recent years, obviously we’ve been teachin’ a lot of people doin’ that, we’ve got software that helps people with it, but that’s kinda the, kinda the backstory. – Well you, you, you know, you’ve grown so massively, you’ve got ’em, you’ve serviced every service, almost a million business-owners over the last 10 years?

Yeah, we’ve been over that now, yeah. – That’s amazing. And then you created ClickFunnels, we’ll talk about it as well but, tell me about how do you differentiate yourself from so many people online? Everybody on the line jumps online, everybody’s got some hook that they’re tryin’ to use to sell somebody something. You know, you’ve really differentiated yourself, I’ve found over the years. What, what do you think has separated you from the others? – I think a lot of people get into business initially ’cause they wanna make money, which is a good thing, that’s what usually start, like spurs entrepreneurship, but.

For me, what I found, I talk about this actually in the very first section of the book to kind of give people context, because then ultimately people feel guilty about that as well. But I know for me like, I was, I was learning, I was growing, and like, there came a point in my life where like no matter how much I kept learning, like, eventually you kinda stop, like it’s hard to keep progressing? Just by learning itself. And I had some big wins, I had successes, and it was like, I love celebrating ’em.

And then the first time I started, like, helping other people and it’s like, “Hey, I’m gonna, like, the stuff I’ve learned, “let me help you with it.” And, and I’d, I’d help people and they’d see their success and I, I’m sure you’re the same way, like, when you see someone else have success, it is a million times cooler than your own success. And like, for me I got addicted to that, I’m like, “Okay, “that was awesome, like, “who else can help and how else can I help?”

And, and my whole focus shifted from like, you know, how do I start a business, make money, to like, these people have messages, they’ve got things that they can, that they know that they can change other people’s lives, and I might not be the world’s fastest reader, I might not be someone who’s good at personal development or finance or any of those things, I might not be the best at it, but if I can, like, my, my gifts, my tools, if I can help them to get their message out, man, like how many more people can we, can we impact, and so that’s why I love working with entrepreneurs because it’s like, one entrepreneur can change hundreds or thousands or tens of thousands of people’s lives and it’s just, it’s so much fun. –

What’s been one of the biggest campaigns that you’ve run to give people a sense of what the economic opportunity is, and then I wanna follow up and get in to a little bit about the different types of, you know, expert businesses, but. Tell us a story of one of, what’s been one of the big surprises? I know the potato gun’s where you started, but what were the big hits you’ve got, what kind of return did you get, just to give people a sense of what’s possible and I’m, and I remember you telling me how crazy you were over several of these stories, and give me one. – So many cool ones.

So I’ll share one of, one of my favorite, they’re, they’re a younger couple, they are I think 22, 23, they just got married. Brandon and Kaelin, in fact, when you spoke at our event, she was the one that had the Prada purse that you kinda teased. – Oh, yes, I remember that, yes. (laughing) – So she’s like, the coolest couple, the newlywed couple. And the first time they met me, they messaged me and they’re like, “We’re completely broke, “we have nothing, some day we’re gonna be a success story.” I was like, “All right, cool.” And then a year later they came to our event and they came up to me and they’re like

“Hey right now we’re doin’,” I think it was 80 grand a month right now, helping women to, to, to transform their bodies through weight loss. And I was like, “That’s cool.” And then they started going deeper and deeper into this. And one of my favorite things is they did a Facebook Live two months ago, following kind of the process we teach in this book. Funnels Business Success

They did the Facebook Live and it went live and, two things, number one, that Facebook Live they did, they sold over a million dollars worth of products, 22, 23 year old couple. But number two, right now they’re adding 500 women a day are coming into their programs, and they’re taking these women’s lives and radically transforming ’em.

And the case studies are just insane, so for me it’s like, the money’s cool ’cause us entrepreneurs want to know that but like, 500 women a day, every single day, are coming like clockwork into their programs. And they are having this huge impact on people’s health that, it’s just, it’s, it’s like the coolest thing in the world to watch and to see. – Well my, the crazy thing is so many people have beautiful ideas. I knew early in my career, my biggest thing was I had these skills, these abilities and talents, certain things, you know, god gives you and certain things you develop along the way.

And, but I realized my ideas were gonna die on my lips unless I learned how to market, you know? That I was not gonna change millions of people’s lives unless I could figure out how to do that as well. And, you know, mine was so much trial-and-error and there was no internet, per se, that’s how ancient I am. – Hey, this is Russell again, hope you enjoyed the first of the three-part interview with Tony Robbins. Alright so Miles and I are about ready to head out and we’re heading down to Boise State. Miles you tell me what we’re gonna be doing a Boise State today? We’re presenting the Guinness world record plaque for the largest bubble soccer game. “It is my distinct pleasure to present the Guinness world record to Russell, Dave, Todd & the executive management team of Clickfunnels. You are officially amazing!” We’re gonna have coach Harrison there, gonna have the A.D. for Boise State, gonna have a bunch of media there, so right now we’re trying to compile this, adding up numbers and everything so, we’re cutting it close like we always do, what’s up let’s go! So these are the plaques that are actually presented here. mmm Clickfunnels Guinness World Record. Alright Miles, game on buddy are you nervous? Dude you have the plaques! Oh yeah that would be an important thing. Okay here we are Boise State Stadium on the blue it’s a big old stadium when you’re now and below it. The weirdest webinar day I’ve ever experienced

This is like the weirdest webinar day I’ve ever experienced here. Our office is like quiet, it’s really really weird but literally within hour and 15 minutes this thing’s taking off so let’s kind of figure out what’s going on. Quiet isn’t it? Calm before this storm what’s happening? The webinar’s coming! I’ve never seen this happen for it, it’s like Russell’s not gonna have to work out as powerpoints or anything else it’s like a weird feeling. Russell: “I’m done, I retired officially, Kaeline’s now in charge of being attractive character for Clickfunnels. Jamie’s bustin out trying to make sure this thing actually works, Ron is busy bat-line signal is up! It’s going on, we’re all set getting ready, getting ready glasses are on, I’m out! Miles just typing away like crazy. Look at Brett crushing it over here, this is just like I’ve never seen an office this quiet before a huge webinar, this is really really really bizarre. John sitting here making sure everything’s working and ready to go, here in an hour it’s so close. Tell me how many registrations we had? John: 7,648. Alright so we’re talking about literally the evolution of the attractive character and groundbreaking craziness that’s happening, literally less than like 45 minutes, well so we’re just talking about how there’s this common belief in like the business community that if you if you are the face of the business (like Russell is the face of clickfunnels) – if you’re that person, then you’re always going to be inextricably linked to the business and you’re never gonna be able to pull yourself out and you’re always gonna have to be the attractive character. It’s like so cool but then you get stuck.

How do you bring in other attractive characters?

So like four years ago when we launched clickfunnels, I thought about that. How do I sell clickfunnels some day? if we wanted you know not that I’m going to, but if we wanted to if Russell is clickfunnels then it’s not gonna sell. So this was the thought and I know i’d execute it. I just knew I couldn’t be the attractive character all the time I had to be the initial momentum and growth, but then how do you like bring in other attractive characters, like what’s the next level of that? And so it’s crazy the last three and a half years when training tons of people in our community to do the perfect webinar to do my webinar pitch there are their own stories, their own thing and so this is the first time we’ve done it: Kaeline basically took my offer but she’s doing the webinar with her own style and story, her own everything, but she just used my offer and she’s doing the whole webinar today and so when she does it she’s gonna crush it. So now, Russell has a presentation, Kaeline has a presentation, so that’s two people that are selling clickfunnels and then eventually we would have a third person and a fourth and a fifth and then 12. Then it’ll be cool we’ll have 12 attractive characters and I’m one of many and if I want to say like just step away, my presentation still stands, but I’m one of a whole bunch of success students so the magic is that you are the attractive character initially, but long term your clients are your attractive characters. That’s the secret and then we’ve got a whole foundation of them and that’s the magic.

Success stories of the success stories!

If you do your job right and you actually serve them and change their lives they become the attractive characters. For those who really want to get deep into marketing doctrine here, notice my language patterns over the last eight months or so, no longer I just talked about how Brandon became of my success stories. I talked about success stories of the success stories. I’m talking about how Brandon helped over 1.3 million women lose weight so the success stories of your success stories become the third level of the attractive character.

[Russell] Hey everyone! I’m officially back from Kenya, and it feels so good to be home. (laughs) So nice. Got home, and we’re going through all this stuff, and envelopes, and packages, and junk, and everything, and I got a card from somebody in the mail. It said, hey Russell, I want you on my podcast. It only takes seven minutes. Let me know if you’re in. And I read that, and I gave it to my wife. I was like, what do you think about this? She’s like, I don’t know. It sounds good. I said, do you notice in this card, he was basically telling me the benefit to him, like, hey, I really want you on my podcast. Like, that’s the benefit for him. You gave me one benefit. It was that it would only take seven minutes of my time, but he didn’t talk about what was in it for me. And I wanted everyone to understand this. When you’re asking people for anything– This is, you’re trying to sell something, whatever it is you’re trying to do, you always have to create an offer. I don’t know if I’ve talked about this on the podcast before, but when I was first getting started, There was an acronym? I don’t know. Called W, I, I, F, M. What’s, in, it, for, me. And so whenever I’m pitching somebody on something, I’m not telling them what’s in it for me. I’m telling them what’s in it for them. I want the customer thinking, or the person saying, what’s in it for me? So if I was gonna pitch Russell on a podcast, I wouldn’t say, hey, this only takes seven minutes. It’s gonna be amazing to have you on my podcast.

What’s in it for me, what’s in it for me?

‘Cause, all that you’re really doing is pitching, like, the benefits of yourself as having me on your podcast. You gotta have something out. What’s the offer I’m creating Russell, for him to take the time out of his day to be on my podcast? This is true if you’re asking to be on a podcast, an interview, asking a girl on a date, asking a boy on a date, I don’t know. Nowadays that happens, I guess, you know. Asking somebody for money, ’cause it’s always about what’s-in-it-for-them. Like what, W-I-I-F-M, thinking about it from their perspective. What’s in it for me, what’s in it for me? Like, what is it that is in it for them? I’d just say something like, hey Russell, I run a podcast, right now I’ve got x amount of down listeners. My people are entrepreneurs that are obsessed with this thing. I don’t know who you are, but I wanna get deeper, so they can understand who you are better. Do you, if you decide to do this podcast, these are things I’m gonna do: help promote it, make sure that the time you spend isn’t a waste. Number one, the first thing I’m gonna do, and I start creating an offer, right? Now, the first thing I’m gonna do, podcast will only take seven minutes. So, it’s not gonna take a ton of your time. So, it’d be really, really fast. Number two, after it’s done, I’m gonna spend up to, you know, $2,000 promoting this on Facebook to make sure that everybody hears the podcast, gets to listen to you. Number three is my entire customer list. You know maybe it’s not huge right now but I’m gonna go and I’m gonna do a big promotion for anybody who listens to the podcast to get a free copy of your book.

OUR, it’s the charity you believe in

In fact, I would love to buy a 100 copies of your book I can just give away to my listeners. Four, now I know you are a big believer in OUR, it’s the charity you believe in. What I’ll also do is, in the podcast episode I’m gonna tell everyone to go to ourfilm.org so they can watch the documentary you created, so you can spread that mission. And number five, I’ll promote that to my entire email list so that they can understand about it. That way you only spend seven minutes of your time. What’s gonna happen is, you’re gonna sell a bunch of books, you’re going to get the message about OUR out there to the world, blah blah blah blah blah, right? So now it’s like, holy cow, look at the benefit for me. Look at all these things he’s gonna do for me in exchange for my seven minutes of my time. That would have gotten me to take the card to my office. Instead I looked at it and I kind of smiled and I put it into the trash. And so, hopefully the person who sent this listens to it because it’s a good idea for them. But for all of you guys, I want you thinking about that. When you’re asking somebody for something, and it doesn’t matter how small it seems to you. Like seven minutes might seem like a small thing for you, but for me seven minutes is never seven minutes either. You know, there’s gonna be 10, 15 minutes of prep time, I have to stop whatever I’m doing to do this thing. So that means it’s almost 15, 20, maybe 30 minutes of swing time for me to do a seven minute interview, right? If I was to sell that it would be 5000 bucks or more.

Before we go to the concert we’ll go get sushi

So it’s like, hey, I gotta go make at least $5000 worth of value for Russell for him to take this time out to go and do the thing, right? So start thinking about every single time you’re asking somebody for anything it’s just coming back realizing I need to make an offer, I need to make an irresistible offer. Even though it seems like seven minutes is not that big of a deal, it’s huge for Russell. Or it’s huge for whoever you’re promoting or you’re pitching on whatever the thing is that you wanna do. It’s the same skill if you ask an affiliate, if you’re asking your an interview, if you’re asking a customer. We need to become better at creating irresistible offers, okay? I’m gonna preach that over and over and over and over and over again. In fact, we’re working on a challenge where we’re gonna be working with you guys to get your first 1000 bucks, or get you to your first million, whatever the next, the next one from aways that you’re looking for for your business. The majority of what that thing is gonna be is teaching us how to create a irresistible offer. And so you’ve really gotta start thinking about every single aspect of your life. If I was gonna ask a girl out today, I’m not gonna come out and be like, hey do you want to go on a date with me? I’m gonna say, I’ve gotta create an irresistible offer for her. I’m gonna say, hey, I don’t know if you know, but there’s this really cool band that’s coming to town. They’re one of my favorite bands in the world. What we’ll do is before we go to the concert we’ll go get sushi, ’cause that’s my– be like, what’s your favorite food? Sushi? Cool, we’re gonna go get sushi, and we’re gonna go to the concert. After the concert, a bunch of us are hiking up this mountain and we’re gonna watch the sunset or the sunrise, or something. It’s gonna be amazing, so whatever, right?

You have to make that so irresistible

So I’m gonna create a really good offer, ’cause then it’s like, then the person we’re asking on a date’s not saying okay, do I want to spend the night with this person or not? They’re saying, holy cow, if I spend the night with this person look at the benefits that come back to me. What’s in it for me? That’s what your prospect is always saying, no matter what the offer is. No matter what the pitch is. No matter if you are pitching a date, pitching a promotion, pitching an interview, pitching a sell, whatever it is they’re always thinking what’s in it for me? So you have to make that so irresistible. How do you create, how do you make a stack slide? Like go back to Expert Secrets, study the stack slide section. Making a stack slide for everything. Literally everything, your entire goal is just make the thing that you are asking them so much more valuable than the thing you’re trying to get in return, okay. We cover A LOT of ground in episode 99 as Todd comes to Boise to dole out gifts, Russell preps for Mother Funnel, the gang hits up San Diego for 2CCX and more. As Russell preps for Mother Funnel and the Spawn of Mother Funnel we see that not only does Russell present barefoot, but sometimes he needs a little rehearsal to really nail his speeches especially without a teleprompter… In an eventful trip to San Diego, Brett hosts the 2XXC event while Myles and Dave try to get some footage for Dream 100. Dave and Myles show up to an ‘exotic car rental company’ to find no cars, however, they do eventually find some Beamer, Benz, and Bentleys at O’Gara’s in La Jolla. Dave and Myles also visit Billy Gene and his company Billy Gene Is Marketing for a quick office tour, and we get a ‘face-full’ of Billy Gene. We also get a glimpse behind the scenes at the editing magic coming from Kevin Anson. Then finally, as the crew heads home they run into Stephen and Korbin as Stephen rushes home to welcome a new member to the Funnel Hacker family.

This is going to be a fun, exciting experience. And it’s really one of my favorite programs that we’ve ever launched because it really gets people from zero to six figures, and from six figures to seven figures, and from seven figures to eight figures. We just are gonna be rolling out a new piece here and that’s gonna be our One Comma Club, and that’s just going to be just killer as well. So we’re gonna get people that first thousand dollars. The Spawn of Mother Funnel

Today, everybody is pretty much gone from the office. There’s literally nobody back here because the rest of the crew is in San Diego at the 2 Comma X Coaching Program, and I’m stuck here working, meh. So, what we’re working on here is Mother Funnel, which has been, we call it Mother Funnel. First it was Super Funnel and then it kept going and going and it got so big, we decided to one day call it Mother Funnel. So Mother Funnel is almost done and then we had this stupid idea in the middle of Mother Funnel to have Mother Funnel get pregnant and we are creating what we now call, “The Spawn of Mother Funnel.” So this is what Mother Funnel looks like, which was like a six month project. And then the Spawn of Mother Funnel is born from it. It looks kind of like this and like this, and anyway, it’s been a lot of work. So Jake and Nick were here all night last night. I don’t even know, until… How long were you actually here until? (arrow dings) – 2:00-2:30. – 2:30. – [Russell] 2:30? – We stayed up ’til 12:30, we were about to pass out, and then I kicked on The Greatest Showman and- (laughing) – [Russell] We’re back. – A lot of singing, a lot of weirdness. – So now they did all the hard work and I have to go be the dancing cheerleader on stage talking about different types of funnels. You guys want to see what’s happening? I’ll take you through here, look at how dead it is in here. Alright, so take you back here into the event room and this is what’s happening. Use ClickFunnels to sell your products

Alright, so what’s happening is I’m gonna be showing different types of funnels. So lead funnels, and then sales funnels, and end funnels. Here’s my mini script I kinda wrote out for each one. Blah blah blah, I’ve got to ad-lib it ’cause Brandon won’t get me a teleprompter. So this is what’s going to be happening. So you want to use click funnels to sell your products and your services? Well, the good news is you’re in the right spot. Now, there are basically three types.. Two down, one to go. We’re obviously filming and apparently, you guys may or may not know, I started to try to lose weight again ’cause I’ve gotten fat since funnel hacking live. I have my little fit pal tracking all my macro, micros, all that kind of stuff. And then somebody today dropped off donuts. What!? Well these aren’t any donuts, these are fit donuts. They actually have in macros. I gotta figure out if I can eat any of these, or how many I can eat. Here’s the official lunch for today. We’ve got a my fit donut and a huge salad. I’m down three pounds from yesterday. So maybe three pounds a day for the next three days. That’d be awesome. (happy piano music) – [Todd] Alright, so here’s registration. Registration actually started last night, and what happened was, when they moved our tables, someone stole our tablecloth.

So we’ve been talking about this and dreaming about this and finally. Literally, we signed a contract for this space in December, not knowing if anybody would show up. Right now, we’re headed to Prestige. It’s a exotic car rental place. Gonna go do some filming for our Dream 100, and Dream 100 letter we’re sending out. Maybe you’ll get one, you’ll see. Then after that, we’re gonna go see Billy Gene Marketing. Billy Gene, he is marketing, or so he says. (laughs) – [Dave] So he says. (anticipatory piano music) – Alright, so Myles has one job. (laughs) Just kiddin’ ya, we’re here in downtown San Diego. I said we wanna go, ’cause we have that Dream 100 letter comin’ up. I said, “We gotta go find some cars we can take pictures of and drive and all that kinda stuff and he goes, “Alright, I’m on it.” So we’re here at Prestige Auto. – Here we go. Lemme show you, “What is Prestige,” you might be asking yourself. We’re here. – [Dave] What? Do you see a lotta cars in there? – [Myles] I don’t see a freakin’ one. – [Dave] Huh, let’s see. – [Myles] Oh my God. – [Dave] Oh, there’s a good sign. Prestige rentals, luxury cars, yachts, rentals.

How ya feel about this, Myles? – So embarrassed, I can’t wait ’til this airs. (Dave laughs) Aw, son of a gun. – So now we gotta go find some cars. (sustained orchestral chord) – So it’s back-story time, Kevin. – Sweet, I love back-story time! Let’s hear it, Dave. – For those of you guys who don’t know, Kevin Anson is the guy, basically, who’s doing a lot of our video editing. (symphonic dance-music) (arrow dings) (music stops, Kevin clicks teeth) – So Russell and I are out here and Todd are basically shooting cameras wherever we’re goin’. But we’re having lunch here with Tyler and Tyler goes, “Hey, I know Kevin!” – Kevin and I grew up together. Little elementary school, here in San Diego, all the way up to Rancho Bernardo High School. – So what dirt do you have on Kevin? – None, nothing. – Nothing? – I have no dirt. No dirt other than he’s got a cool course coming out. I know that much. – So Kevin, basically, was one of those behind the scenes guys in high school. So you can just kind of allude to whatever that might mean. He was behind the scenes. (symphonic dance-music) – [Dave] We’re here at Billy Gene is Marketing headquarters Inc.’s headquarters. – So what do we got? – [Dave] (gasps) Welcome! Dave Woodward and Myles Clifford. Oh, check out Myles. Seriously, where is that picture from? – [Myles] That was my wedding. – [Dave] You’re wedding. – Yeah, I think actually, that’s my Facebook profile picture, me and my wife. That was a lot of weight ago, I gotta get back there. A goal. – [Dave] That’s the goal? (laughs) – You guys are live here in San Diego, in our headquarters.

Full Tour Of Billy Gene Marketing

This is where the magic happens, this is where we create all of our crazy-ass videos and just all the crazy things that we do inside our office. This is it, I’ll give you guys a full tour. You see the sign. THat’s how you know you’re in the right place. Why do we have my big-ass head here on the sign? Guys, marketing number one: Be remembered. So every time someone drives and sees my big-ass head, that’s how you do it, it’s branding, it’s free branding. It’s on the sign, too, so… (Dave laughs) So this is kind of the main area. This is where we have all of our morning huddle-ups. And then also, this basketball is everything. So people will shoot for cash, like if you do something tight and you make a shot, you could win a hundred bucks. Or win nothing, or bet against me and I’ll win money. (music drowns out chatter) We have five people, full-time, who do nothing, but create content. Make videos, short videos, long videos, story-tell. (music drowns out chatter) This is the customer support/marketing team. (music drowns out chatter) Now this wheel, this is actually… I think every office should have it ’cause it just makes it exciting. So we do wheel spins and when anyone does something tight, or like that was a great a move, or they’re super supportive to one of our members. Come in here, this is the sales pit, or the sales turf, I should call it. – [Dave] I love it, the sales turf. – And my favorite, upstairs. (music drowns out talking) This is the Xbox lounge. So this room serves no purpose outside for me to play Xbox and to have fun. So I do about 90 percent of our teaching up here.

Come down to La Joya

(music drowns out talking) (arrow dings) (music drowns out talking) And then we just painted this one green. So when I do need to film something in outer space, I can do that. Yeah, so that’s the office, that’s the BGIM headquarters. (settling urban music) – [Dave] Alright, Myles, so where are we off to today? – We’re going to a sports car company in La Joya. This is actually gonna be a real car lot. I’ve made sure this time, at least. I think, I don’t know, I have no idea. (resonant urban music) Down here taking pictures for our Dream 100 letter of all these amazing cars. Look at these, look at this, look at this. What is your dream car? Ya know, we actually just met with someone yesterday and he would come down here. Like five years ago, he’d come, he’d look at the car just to get motivation to work towards, something to work towards. And I mean being around this type of stuff, yeah, totally, I totally see it. These are amazing vehicles. – So if you’re ever lacking motivation, come down to La Joya and this is just a crazy, crazy place. Unbelievable cars. Check some of these things out. (resonant urban music) A few of us flew home early, couple different reasons. One is I hate to stay the extra night. Myles came along with me and when Myles was sittin’ there, we thought, “Well, hey, Steven and Corbin might as well come too!” Steven, what’s going on in your life? Oh, you know, wife’s probably giving birth. Literally, any moment. – [Dave] Crazy! – I’m waitin’ on the kid now. – [Dave] So we went through Vegas, Corbin goes through Oakland, and is here at the exact same time, even though he left a half-hour later. So, you have a great product, but your sales funnel is not producing the revenue you expected? We also show you a hack to get your copy created fast! This aspect of selling online is often overlooked but it is hugely important! If you don’t have great sales copy, people are not going to engage with you and your products. If you had a physical store, you would engage with the customers and tell them why each item in it is great. The same logic applies to website copywriting. For those of you that have trouble coming up with good sales copy, you should check out Click Funnels sister software, Funnel Scripts. Last step in your initial funnel education

(thuds) – All right, welcome back, now we are moving on to the last step in your initial funnel education. And this is one of the most important, yet one that people understand the least. And it makes me laugh because, if you look at traditional selling a product or a service, like people know this, it’s how do you sell the product or service, right? We call this online, inside of our phones, we call it copywriting. It’s the words on the page, the headlines, the words in the video, the words on the webinar, like all those things, it’s the words. And it’s funny because in traditional business, let’s say you are starting a vacuum company, going door-to-door selling vacuums, right? If you come to the door and you knock on the door, and you’re like, hey, I got a vacuum, it’s 800 bucks. Nobody’s gonna give you money for that, right? Yet for some reason, in our funnels, that’s what we do. We have a picture of the thing, and we have the price, and an order button, and that is not how things are sold, right? If you want to make a lot of money selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door, you hire a really good salesperson to go in and sell the product, right? And good salespeople can make a lot of money. And so, inside of our funnels, right, we have this value ladder we’re taking people through. We have the value at each step. We have the offer at each step, but the last piece is we have to sell those things. We have to actually sell them. Just because you have a picture of a vacuum cleaner with an order button, nobody’s gonna buy it, unless you actually sell that thing.

If you haven’t read the book Expert Secrets

And that’s when the disconnects for some reason, people know offline, but they forget when they come online. A couple things I recommend, number one is if you haven’t read the book Expert Secrets, the reason why I wrote this book was because a lot of people, after they read the DotCom Secrets book, they understood, like, funnel structure. Like, okay, here’s page one and page two, and here’s the right order and those kind of things. And I watched as the Click Funnels community started building amazing funnels, but so many people would drive traffic into those funnels, and they never made any money. And they come back to me like, Russell, why is this not working? You said funnels are the greatest things in the world. And I look at their pages, and literally it’s like, glanny pages, the picture of an e-Cover with an opt-in box I’m like, what’s that? They’re like, when they give me the email, they get that. I’m like, you, like, I wouldn’t know that. Like, how’d they do? Or they have, again, they’d have their product, with a picture of their product and a $300 order button. It’s like, you need to sell the products. And so, the reason why I wrote this book was to help people understand how do you sell things, how do you position your offer, how do you make an irresistible offer, like, what are the words and the phrases, and how do you tell the stories in a way to sell your product? And so, I recommend getting this book, if nothing else, to understand, like, how to put all the words on the pages the right way. Okay? Inside this Expert Secrets book, some people think this is only, it’s only for, if you wanna be selling information products, but the concepts in here are true for whatever it is your selling.

Understanding how to tell a story in a way that sells

Understanding how to tell a story in a way that sells your product or your service. The best salespeople, online and offline, are people that are really good at telling stories. And this book walks you through how we tell stories, the story structure, all those kind of things. So if you read this, it’ll help you understand how to actually present your product in the right way without having to learn all the techy, copywriting stuff that’s, honesty, it’s really hard, it’s kind of confusing, and to be completely honest, it’s kind of boring. The Expert Secrets book will make this exciting and live for you, show you how to tell your story in a way that gets people excited about buying your vacuum cleaner, or your coaching, or your consulting, or your supplements, or whatever it is that you are selling. So that’d be number one. Get this book and study the sections on how to tell your stories. Number two, Jim Edwards is one of our partners here at Click Funnels. He went through the DotCom Seekers book and took all the sales scripts in here. He went through the Expert Secrets book and took all the sales scripts and storytelling scripts inside of here, and we created a separate company and created a software program called Funnel Scripts. What Funnel Scripts is is a really cool tool, where you’re like, hey, I need a headline for my page. You may not know what to do or like what to put in, so you answer four or five questions, you click a button, and it’s going to pop out, like, 150 of the best headlines in the world, wrapped around your product, and your service.

Copywriting is the key to make these funnels tick

If you’re like, I need a video, but I don’t know what to do, you fill a couple of pieces, you click a button, and boom, it gives you an entire video script. It does all of the scripts and the copywriting for all your pages are done in there. And, it has helped so many people save so much time and have so much success. It is an external product here, you don’t have to have it to be successful, but I recommend looking through it and getting a copy ’cause it’ll make your job so much easier. I’ve seen people, who in the past, would spend four or five weeks trying to write all the copy in their funnels. Get that process done in like an hour, hour and a half sometimes. And it’s very simple, and it’s very easy. So that is a shortcut that’ll dramatically speed up your success. But the copy is probably the most important part of the funnels. And you’re selling everywhere, you start at the ad, right? Someone sees the ad, they’re like, “What’s the copy on that, what are the words, “what are things that get people to click on the ad?” Then they come to the first page of the funnel. What are the words that get them to want this offer, so you can provide value to ’em? Then they opt-in or whatever, they go to the next page, it’s like, hey, what are the words that make them want this offer, so they get value, so they want the next thing from you, and that’s the last piece. So, it’s so vitally important, I want you guys to understand, copywriting is the key to make these funnels tick. It sort of lights them on fire, it gets people to take action when they come into your process.

You’re just one funnel away

And, you know, we have a philosophy, a motto, whatever you want to call it, here inside of ClickFunnels, we talk about it with our customers all of the time, you probably here me talk about it, but it’s the concept of you’re just one funnel away, right? And, the key to making that funnel hit is this, it’s all the pieces we just went through. It’s understanding the value ladder, creating offers, having the copy. Like, all those pieces, those are the keys. And one funnel, again, you hit one funnel, and it’ll change everything for you. And so, I want you guys to understand that.
