Hey, that’s me Russell. Now I was a regular kid from Utah was pretty terrible in school. I was inspiring wrestler and overall as fairly ADHD at the age of 6. I got my very first job working for my parents weeding the garden and picking vegetables. Now the job was good at a steady paycheck.

I got health insurance, but then I thought I hate eating beets.

What if I just sold these instead Now by age 15, I became completely obsessed with creating and selling stuff such as potato guns credit board about awesome for Russell Brunson success.

He and her friend thought it would be fun to go online and find out how to make a potato gun wasn’t long that he discovered over 18,000 people were doing the same thing as a paragraph form that has sixty five hundred registered members on there. So Russell said to himself I bet I can make a product and probably sell it to all those people that are looking for it, but it comes a time in your life when you realize a potato guns don’t really have a global market. So I thought what if I create something even better?

And also what if I was wearing a better shirt?

Well, it didn’t come quick after years of selling products and courses and events. I finally found a better way of running any business see everyone there Grandma had a website but very few actually made a difference in their business at all. There are too many options and pretty images but zero personality and no sales strategy.

So ask the people who are way smarter than me to partner up on an idea and went to war with websites that we wanted to do things differently. No VCS around tables telling us what to do instead of creating a software.

ClickFunnels 2018 Year in Review

We wanted to create a movement instead of focusing on profits went to focus on impact and Legacy.

I’m being example. It’s okay to be different.

so to do that we have to be bold loud and disruptive and we were So what happened in 2018?

Well, first of all growth clickfunnels over 70,000 active monthly users and those users built over 4 million funnels and process 2.4 billion dollars in sales that’s billion with a B. Now numbers are impressive but we realize the true importance of what we do at our annual funnel hacking live event, which Grew From 600 people over 3,500 people and we had Tony Robbins speaking in this year because he’s the man we ordered another hundred sixty-eight 2 comma Club winners which makes over 400 total plus this year. We had over 17 people who made more than 10 million dollars inside of a funnel. So because of that we created new award called 2 comma Club X becomes the bigger plaque and a funnel hacker diamond ring. This is 2 ounces of white gold four carats of diamonds and yellow gold clickfunnels logo in the middle on top of that we purchased a dream car for 16 of our Affiliates and check this out one of our Affiliates made over a million dollars in commission just by promoting clickfunnels. It’s insane.

Isn’t that amazing now? I feel easy. Extension of our team which continues to grow by the way this year we hired over 48 more full-time employees keeps growing here. So like we need another office. So we’re actually buying the land behind the office to build a super office. If you guys to the new office that we just moved in to open an office in Atlanta when in Grand Rapids, Michigan plus created a full-blown Production Studio up in Toronto not to mention the fact we went from just six to over 15 full-time developers working remotely all around the world. By the way. We’re still hiring.

This is also our first year of taking social media. Seriously.

ClickFunnels 2018 Year in Review

You’re crazy season 2 if I like or TV which got over 1.5 million views. We also grew funnel Friday’s the marketing Secrets podcast and a chance to interview tons of cool people like Tony Robbins Tai Lopez Billie, Jean and a whole bunch more which motivate us lots of crazy stuff like kayaking in a storm if you haven’t yet click a button to subscribe.

I’ve always had a goal of building my dream house, which was a mix of be super fun and also be super productive and this year. I had a chance to actually see that through nine trampolines a volleyball in the basketball court a soccer and football field flow tanka cryosauna a workout room and wrestling room at tennis court. Basically, there will never be a birthday party at any other kids house besides are so in February. We got invited to speak at Grant cardones live event with over 9,000 people here. So we had a goal with a ton of planning rule-breaking and risk and a little bit of choreography. We sold over 3.2 million dollars is now the highest paid speaker on the planet. He had basically broken a world record.

So it kind of created a lot of Buzz. So because of that we decided to create a course teaching people how to sell from stage every one of the office got a to combo cup of work and they were pretty excited.

I’m top post your own events for the chance to go attend a bunch of events as well fact. Our favorite one was went to San Francisco to the dreamforce event. And at that event had a chance here Marc benioff speed over a hundred seventy thousand business owners while we were there Silicon Valley. We had a chance to see tons of tech companies help me see the vision for what click phones is going to become in the future.

Now the next part of the story got a little bit ridiculous.

We jumped in a plane and flew to Chicago to meet Grant Cardone, but unfortunately Grant got the dates wrong. So I called my friend Brian took his private jet came and picked us up and then flew us to Miami and then me Grant Cardone with who then flows back to Chicago and in the air finger trick Grand building is very first funnel for 10x girls con which by the way this year’s have over thirty five thousand entrepreneurs in the audience and guess who’s going to be speaking Steve Harvey and me recently went to Provo Utah with Andrew Warner from mixergy to tell the clickfunnels startup story. We also invited JP Sears to come and completely roast meat at that made a video with JP Sears where he revealed he’s actually bald.

We also made a video with Brandon Carter basically this year. I’ve been in tons of experimenting with new school and influencer style marketing to grow our brand but for all my old jeans out there. Don’t worry we’re sticking to the classics. In fact this year. We did an old-school PBS style Telethon to actually sell tickets to funnel hacking live.

Top of all the other awesome marketing stuff. We’re also consistently upgrading clickfunnels to better serve you in fact recent create new plug-in where you put the thing into the funnel and it increases how much money you make and how you get more emails like this.

Thank you over the years. We’ve gotten a ton of great feedback from you guys, which is why we’ve worked hard this year to deliver over 290 updates and a few amazing features like the ability to use Facebook Messenger to notify your customers desktop notifications and an integrated email service provider platform. We know how it feels when technical hurdles can get in your way. We also know how it feels when things go smooth and you look like a rockstar.

It’s your needs your request to push us to make clickfunnels better every single day. We listened we deploy and we strive to give you the tools you need to go out and change the world and your own way.

Our photo hacker families are an extremely well, but we’re also doing a lot of good the clickfunnels mission is to liberate and educate the world because that this year we partnered with two amazing Charities the first being Village impact we gave them a check for Thousand dollars and me and a few fellow hackers actually flew to Kenya to open up our third school. We told our community all about all of you and our community wanted to help on top of that. We also funded a feature film for operation Underground Railroad today the fight against modern day slavery in less than 48 hours were able to raise over a million dollars for them at funnel hacking live.

Thank you. This couldn’t have happened without clickfunnels puddle hackers are changing the world the best part about all this is the fact that he’s been more time with our family. For example this year. I launched new coaching program. I’m coaching my kids wrestling team. It doesn’t make me emotional adult as they will take my wife to a dream concert the Kelly Clarkson concert which by the way congratulations on winning American Idol, I had a chance to spend tons of quality time by parents trying to explain to me exactly what I do. They still don’t get it but the good news is they finally stop telling me to get a real job and last I was gonna take my family to McCall Idaho to complete disconnect fact, this is the first year I’ve ever disconnected from phones and funnels that everything in fact because I felt so good to be completely disconnected.

I’m officially announcing my retirement.

Just kidding. I’m not retiring I go to work. We’re still that this year has so many other amazing moments. I’m never going to forget so get ready for Rapid Fire some additional 24,000 copies of experts Secrets plus 23,000 copies of.com Secrets and little one of them on fire and shot with potato gun when the entrepreneur of the Year award and gotta wear a suit. We shot our second infomercial with the Harmon Brothers an awkwardly got to act in that one place in the Inc 500 list of the fastest growing companies spoke to Tony Robbins event race super cars around Miami didn’t know how to work the door. You don’t drive these things. There’s the part.

Oh and I got to fly a plane run out of office space in the walls, but you call a couple words when I Safari and made out with a giraffe flew in a helicopter over Las Vegas and also Wyoming’s on Metallica live twice this year officially launched 30 days.com one fun way challenge tedx secrets and the mother funnel which leads us to hear. It’s the new year. We got 350 Footlocker’s cruising through the Caribbean.

Yeah.

So that’s all cool that this year means nothing without the lessons we’ve learned. So for me, there’s really been three major breakthroughs number one the importance of goal setting strive for the impossible the unheard of the Absurd dreams. You’ve always had and even if you don’t always hit it it’s way more fun than being realistic.

Number two, the greatest motivation and business will not come from how much money you make the stuff you own or the vacation you take it comes from seeing the results of the people you’re trying to help when you focus on their results, you’ll get all the motivation you need.

Number three in business. There isn’t any Glory without having amazing people to share it with share the ideas the struggles the late nights and the energy drinks share the ambition and when you do that you find it becomes even bigger than you ever could have imagined as a small-town kid from Utah. I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am for everything that’s happened the good and the bad this year’s pushed me and those around me to the highest degree and these highlights and experiences have just been the byproduct of the greatest reward of all, which is seeing you guys the funnel hackers The Misfits The Crazy Ones the ones who see things differently the ones who embraced our differences and went out to make a real difference in the world Building Life by Design instead of by default and encouraging others to do the same together.

We’re serving The World At Large and 2018.

We’re just getting started.

Welcome to auto webinar funnel secrets

Hey this is Russell Brunson and welcome to auto webinar funnel secrets now i want to quickly show you how to use automated webinar funnels to run online events and sell your products to the masses and then at the end this presentation i’m actually give you my top converting auto webinar funnels for free but before i do that when i walk you through what an automated webinar funnel is how it works and how it can work for your specific business now first step I want to kind of map out what this actually looks like if you’re in my office here I’m sitting in front of a whiteboard now map out the sales process so this is what an automated webinar funnel looks like it’s very simple the first page here is you get people to actually register for the event and then on the second page you have confirmation page we thank them for registering because I’m excited about what it is that’s happening on the web class and then from there you push them over to the actual webinar broadcast page this is where the webinar is happening now sometimes automated webinars are called evergreen webinars as well because this is the video presentations already been created that someone gets to come and watch on demand in case they come they watch it here on demand they watch the webinar training and then at the end of it you can then create the last page which is called the webinar replay page and this is where you send people who may have missed the webinar they may register had to leave early you can then take from the webinar page well you can watch the presentation one last time.

The attendees can listen from home

Then one other piece here I’ll talk about a little bit more detail are these indoctrination pages these are pages that you said emails to to get people excited about the presentation or if they miss the presentation to get them to go back and actually watch it and these indoctrination pages are very powerful increase sales and get people to actually show up and watch the presentation so that’s kind of what the structure of an automated webinar funnel looks like now if I was to take this kind of blueprint here and plug in pages this is what it may look like here’s my registration page my confirmation page here’s the broadcast room there’s my replay room and here’s some of my indoctrination pages down below okay all right so where did automated webinars come from or like I said we also call it an evergreen webinars where did this concept come from well in the past the weight a lot of times we tried to build our brands and sell our products in our services is that we would go and speak a lot of events in fact this is a picture in the add a live event one way that I used to always sell my products my services I would go I travel around the world I find a big seminar I this I get you know one hundred five hundred thousand ten thousand people in the room I would teach them I’ve talked to him in the end I would sell my products and my services and we’re really good except for the fact I didn’t travel away for my family and wait for my home and all sorts of things then from there we start transitioning to what we call webinars which is basically a web seminar right and so what we do is we go and instead of going traveling into someplace around the world and having all these people travel to it as well we would do it from the comfort of our homes the attendees can listen from home I can listen I can do the presentation home and that became an actual webinar.

So what does an automated webinar do?

Well it’s taking webinar presentation that’s working the works live may work at a seminar they work live online in webinar be actually automated so you’re not doing it live all the time this has really become the future of marketing over the last few years it’s creating the presentation once put into an automated webinar funnel and then letting it just convert and close sales for you 24 hours a day seven days a week like clockwork okay and that’s the magical what an automated webinar actually it’s okay so here are some examples of some automated webinar landing pages this is one that I’m Kaylen Poland it aka the lady boss helping to pro clickfunnels this is another one we did four and clickfunnels this one proning one of our software companies called funnel scripts and so like you can use automated webinar funnels to sell all sorts of things from coaching to consulting just I’ve seen people use itself supplements business business coaching weight loss coaching they pretty much everything you can think of people can sell and have sold through online webinars okay so here’s how it works step number one you have to get people to register for the actual webinar event okay so you have a landing page may look something like this September 2 then you take me to a page after they give you their email address then you thank them for registering for the actual web class so that’s page number two here you take them for registering then step number three then is you’re actually taking the page where they actually watched the streaming evergreen webinar okay that’s the third page in the funnel.

My indoctrination pages

The last pages for people who left early or they or they don’t make you for this page for some reason you have email sequences that push them back to a replay page and this is the fourth page in the funnel is the actual replay page you share after the event where you’re also streaming this presentation so that’s kind of how it works is very simple easy funnel they work super super effectively okay now there’s one other piece here and this funnel haven’t talked about yet and that’s this right here the indoctrination pages and the indoctrination pages are pages that are emailed to people athlete’s register to get them to actually show up or if they left early to get them to come watch a replay and get some exciting pree frames it so even more likely to actually show up and more likely to actually buy ok so here’s an example one of my indoctrination pages but I have videos there getting people excited about what’s gonna actually be happening during the live training and so that’s kind of what a knock donation page may look like they’re not everybody who does webinar funnels uses indoctrination pages it’s not essential but it is an amplifier it amplifies everything from getting people to show up give you people to purchase and so I like using whatever I can that’s what the indoctrination pages are here inside of this funnel okay so what kind of products or services would work well for an automated webinar well automated webinars do great at selling courses the great selling products create some software I’ve seen people use it to sell supplements to sell services like pretty much anything that you can sell you can sell through some type of an automated webinar ok?

Best practices to understand first

So here’s some best practices to understand the first thing is the registration page how do you make this pay so the most people come here I wanna make sure that our as many of those people come they actually register for the web class ok and so a couple things number one I like them to know who this is for so I might say on the page something like his is for entrepreneurs or for people who are trying to some extra way something like that ok number two I have a curiosity based headline the more curious they are the more likely they are to register and the more likely they are to actually show up okay so curiosity is the key to getting a webinar registration page to actually convert case where curiosity is the key you guys if a page isn’t converting for you and you come back and figure out how to make this how do I increase the curiosity on this page okay all right page number two now in this process is the Thank You page but make you page is a little bit different on this page first thing I do is I thank them for registering the second thing I do is not curiosity okay curiosity is the registration page the second page I focus on getting them excited the more excited they are this step more likely they are to make sure that gets on the countly make sure they show up make sure they don’t leave this page the more excitement they have the more likely they are to actually show up and then the last thing you can do and I don’t do this as often on automated webinars as I do on live webinars but you can also make them a self-liquidating offer which means you sell them some products or some service right here on the Thank You page and a lot of times that will actually cover the ad costs of of the of all the ads that you know any money you spent to get people to actually register for the webinar that’s what we call the self liquidating offer makes the ad costs free a lot times okay and that’s not required it’s more of an advanced thing that’s one idea I wanted to give those of you guys who are looking for ways to increase your automated webinar funnels okay so that’s page number two now.

Start using clickfunnels to build out entire automated webinar funnel

The third page now is the actual broadcaster where you’re broadcasting and you’re pushing out your your your presentation okay so here’s where you stream the Evergreen webinar into a broadcast room and then page number four is absolutely events over then you set up a replay page where you can post limited replay the event for evil come and watch and this is a maximize sales from any webinar event that you are doing okay now in the past if you want to create an automated webinar funnel like that what you would have to do is you have to hire a designer and a webmaster and programmers analytics people it would cost you ton of money and take a ton of time to build just a simple funnel like to want to showed you in the past the good news is for you because you’re here today you don’t have to worry about having a huge team people do this you can do it all by yourself because instead of doing this way what we have instead is you can start using clickfunnels to build out entire automated webinar funnel almost instantly in fact down below this video we have what we call share funnels this means with our top designers and programmers pre-built funnels for you funnels that convert phones that already worked and all I gotta do is go down below pick which funnel you like them will select that funnel and then what is gonna happen if you already have a clickfunnels account will take that entire photo and will push it into your clickfunnels account it’s not exciting now if you don’t have a clickfunnels account that’s ok click on the button down well pick which one looks the coolest you select that funnel and what I’ll do take you to the next page right here this is called a share funnel page we’re actually share with you well give you this funnel for free all you.

Pick the template you like the most and then go

Here’s our kind of free 14-day trial the clickfunnels and then after you create your trial we’ll give you this fun little show up inside your account and you can go there you can customize it edit it and that way you’ve got your you got your funnel up and ready to start editing and strapping fun with ok so that’s how the sheriff funnel pages work so the first step in this process is look down below and find out which one these templates down below do you like the most okay now I’m gonna show you in a second how you can customize them the first step is pick the template you like the most and then go and select it and then the second thing you do is you actually log in to clickfunnels and you edit that template now I’m gonna login really quick right now and show you how simple and easy it is to edit a page here inside of clickfunnels okay so right now I’m on the exact same page you’re at so what I’m gonna do is I’m a scroll down and find out which one these templates are like the most this example I think this one I click on select this funnel what’s happened now is that entire phones me built inside of my clickfunnels account all the pages all the images everything’s gonna be built inside my clickfunnels account so I can start using it immediately after that’s done I click on the view funnel button and there it is the entire funnel is now inside my account on the left hand side here see these are all different pages that I showed you be neat inside this funnel and so you’re gonna go through in just edit each of those pages plug in your branding plug into your words and it’s done now I’m not gonna do that right now with you but I want to show you how easy it is on this first page and click on the Edit Page button.

I can start having some fun

Inside the clickfunnels editor and now let me slide this funnel I basically come in here I can start having some fun so I click on the text I want I change it this is so much fun I click on images if I want I can grab them I can drag them and drop it move them around wherever I want to be at if I there’s the video here I click on video I put in my own video if I don’t like a logo for some example or for some reason I can change it with my logo click right here and I can you upload my own logo or Grabel it’s already here and boom the logos in there or if I don’t like I can delete it altogether but that fashion is I can edit this template exactly the way I want to look for my brandy and then click Save and then click preview and that fast my entire funnel is live online ready to start sending traffic to now if there’s something I don’t like I can come back here and I can go back and keep editing it moving things around tweaking until it’s exactly the way I want it and it matches my branding and I look at my feel when I’m done click the exit button and I’m ready to go to the next page alright is that amazing now after you’ve done that now after you’ve picked the funnel you’ve got to customize it and one thing will you notice look at these three pages they’re right here all three these pages look completely different yet they’re all based on the exact same template right I changed the colors I changed the images and they look completely different okay so it doesn’t matter what your branding looks like you can take these templates and tweak it to MIT to match your exact branding for your company okay so step two is you customize it and step three is you go out there and you launch it this is where we start driving traffic start making sales and it’s super super exciting okay and really quick I wanna share with you a video for my friend right here his name’s Garrett J white about why he uses clickfunnels to build on all the funnels for his company as opposed to doing all the other things people have tried to do in the past.

As you may know, we just opened up a brand new office right here. We love it! (techno beat music) But then, it turns out people like Funnels a lot and so Click Funnels keeps growing and growing. (laughter) – So the gap between (laughter) where we have super office and where we don’t have super office. What do we do with all these people? He’s not gonna come to work out, so– (Mario death music) We’ve got, I think Kevin Anson’s coming into town this week. He’s got filming here. (rushing drumbeats) He’s got some crazy cool stories. He and Brad are literally flying around the country right now, filming some of the stories for the Mother Funnel. those same results here is your host Dave Woodward welcome back everybody this is in a fun new years beginning its 2018 and I am so excited for some of the crazy stuff that’s gonna happen in 2018 but one of the things I want to talk about real quick is a concept that I think most people really don’t understand I was talking with Garrett white a while back about this and recently he had ended up doing him one of his daily podcasts about the topic as well I thought you know I really need to explain this in more detail to our funnel hacking audience to really make sure they understand how this concept works in their marketing and in the things that you’re actually selling so the whole idea here is what are you selling are you selling a commodity or an experience I’m a huge believer in experiences for Christmas and everything else I hate just giving normal gifts for me it’s more all about the experience so I love taking trips I love providing people experiences that they wouldn’t normally have whatever that might be just recently I ended up having back surgery and that’s topic for another day but anyways part of the experience I wanted for my boys to have was the experience of snowmobiling and so they actually end up going snowmobiling without me while I was getting surgery on that day but it was one of the things they they loved it was such an affront I’m for them the for the boys just took off and had a ton of fun just snowmobiling up in McCall Idaho where we not far from where we live and it was one things that they continued talking about all the time I love taking trips with the kids and I love going to you know foreign countries and having the experience third-world type of situations every every other year I take my boys down to Mexico and we end up going down there and while we’re there we actually end up working in a medical hospital basically I don’t have any medical experience but while we’re there my kids have had the opportunity of actually working with plastic surgeons in working with general surgeons and eye doctors everything else and helping them in provide medical services to people who normally couldn’t afford and those the type of experiences that they’ve continued to remember forever and ever and to me that’s what it’s all about unfortunate for a lot of us in our marketing we end up going just kind of the opposite direction and our product becomes very price-sensitive becomes very commoditized and I think it’s one of the things you have to really pay attention to when you’re when you’re out and really working on your product so take for example let’s talk with Garrett white while back and his podcast on thing he was talking about was he and his daughter just gone out to dinner they went to a teppanyaki Japanese grill and again he was saying you know the food wasn’t that great but what was exciting was the experience of having the chef prepare the food in front of them and after that they ended up going over to McDonald’s and got a McFlurry and he was just basically talking about no this is ice cream that you know it’s 3 4 or 5 bucks whatever it is but that same ice cream could be an experience and be you sold for a lot more so I want to talk to you a little bit about this in your marketing how that works so take for example as far as ice cream I love ice cream my youngest son Jackson is the dessert King every single night he has to have some side type of dessert and it’s all about the experience so take for example when you get ice cream you can go down to you know McDonald’s and get McFlurry for you know 3 bucks or whatever you go through drive through a Dairy Queen and get a blizzard or you can go to like if you’re in Austin one of my favorite places in Austin and go to is Amy’s ice cream Amy’s ice cream is an establishment of Austin and they’re on 6th Street and it basically there’s always a line no matter when you go and it’s because of the experience and that experience basically goes back to kind of the the whole marble slab type of ice cream where you you go in you pick what type of ice cream you want you pick good type of flavor and fix seed you want add it to that and they chopped it all up and they basically provide it to you in in a scoop basically they throw the throw it up in the air and catch it in the bowl and it’s all the experience and you spend anywhere from eight to ten dollars for this little tiny bowl of ice cream but it’s the experience and because of that Amy’s has become this huge popular place that everyone goes to in Austin to get ice cream the same thing happens in any other type of of product or service you have to think of what is the experience that I can provide for these people one of the things that they would really like or that they would talk about now take for example on high end coaching programs a lot of times it’s the experience it’s people spend a lot of money because they actually at the opportune experiencing being with the Guru and sitting in the masterminds and because of that they’re able to get a much higher price point for that kind of stuff so when you take a look at your own marketing you take a look and see what are the types of things that you can do to add to it to not make it a commodity but to make it much more of an experience it’s been one of things we’ve I’ve looked at here at clickfunnels when we have a one of our large rooms basically where we have our mastermind meetings and everything else we’ve actually toyed around with the idea of having other gurus basically be able to bring their people to click funnels headquarters and use use that conference room as part of the experience for their students and things I’ve seen the same thing to happen with gel polish and genius Network and the experience that happens down there bade Rose talking with him as far as some of his head high-end masterminds one of the things that he’s done is on his PI and masterminds where basically it’s a three-day event the first day they come in and they’re with a coach and not all of them are actually with pedro’s most of more ashley with other coaches they then have the second day where they basically come together and a group environment are taught by a couple of different people who are specialists in different areas but the third day is an experience where they then go out and if they’re if they’re in Vegas they typically go on a big hike and they hike up to one of the top peaks in that area when they’re in San Diego they go out and they go surfing with pedro’s and so it’s that ik type of an experience that Bond’s that person more to the coach or anything that they might be working with this whole idea is one of things I really encourage when you take a look at your marketing one of the types of things that you can do to provide an experience for your buyer so that it’s not just a commodity I’ve seen the same thing as far as Jason flavin has done a lot of things with in the whole Amazon ecommerce situations where they’re bundling different products where they’re no longer able to compare apples to apples Ezra Firestone does the same thing and we’re if take for example if you’re selling a product on Amazon I don’t what’s I’m looking right here I’ve got a clickfunnels water bottle from me so let’s say you’re selling a water bottle and that’s the product well you can get a water bottle four to three before bucks but if all the said you start bundling it with different products and services where a person can no longer compare it to other water bottles it now becomes an experience as far as the things they’re gonna get with that Dollar Shave Club is phenomenal at doing this here again you think you’re gonna go ahead and get Dollar Shave Club and Dollar beard Club work the exact same way and really what you’re buying into it’s the experience you think you’re getting a razor you know for a buck reality is you’re your average car value when you leave there is typically in the neighborhood of 50 to 100 dollars it’s because of all the other experiences that you can have with shaving it’s the shave balm it’s the shave it’s the shaving lotions it’s beard oil it’s beard vitamins to help your beard grow thicker and and stronger it’s all those types of things that become part of an experience even though it’s a product the person’s buying into the experience they’re gonna have with that product so as you take a look at your marketing pay attention the different types of things that you could do and look at what others are doing obviously we all used to spend a ton of time talking about funnel hacking I want you to take a look at who has some of the people leaders in your industry and are they creating the experience for their the consumer or is it just a commodity you’ll find that anybody who’s super successful especially as far as increasing average cart value the way they do that is by creating an experience for the user and sometimes it’s not a physical experience sometimes it’s actual it’s just a mental experience that they’re taking that person through it’s an emotional experience or they have this emotional buying with that product for example my wife loves Lululemon and she has an emotional connection and an experience by literally just walking into the store the way it smells the way it looks it’s it becomes this experience of shopping at Lululemon so realize that and because of that they’re able to charge you know 75 to 120 dollars for leggings that you could get on Amazon or Target for a ton less but again it’s the experience of doing that and she will go on and on about why those leggings are so much better than the ones at any other place and that’s what she prefers but it’s because of the experience and others have now caught on to that and are trying to duplicate what Lululemon has done so just realize even though you’re selling a commodity or a product you can still have an experience and try to find different things that you can do to create an experience and a lot of that’s in your marketing as far as how you’re presenting it and what you’re saying how how what is the picture that you’re painting for them so with all that again I appreciate so much all the people who listened to this podcast I would love if you wouldn’t mind going out to iTunes and giving us a and looking at my file for a week and now Julie’s here so that’s what FOMO does to you apparently y across the Boise Boise this year doubt and I was like six and I was telling I was telling James it’s like the same rental car the same flight attendants a motel room throw your back ey you just move here so and then I told Dave about this and Dave’s to some fun he’s like that’s why California the he came down FOMO and I was terrible case of FOMO there have been back surgeries everything else I’m like these guys are out working out all the time I had this fear of missing out so this morning that’s that dichotomy between the APC of the and the average cart value is like it’s just something we’ve never really experienced before so it’s a really cool learning experience to see them stretch like super excited today because this is a topic that people are always asking about cuz everyone’s always it for gosh I know you can spend money on Facebook and you do all these things to drive traffic but what if I have no money and I want to be able to get free traffic or build my funnel so we brought Julie on to kind of talk about how to actually do this so what are some of the ideas and things that you have as far as idea is to make that happen yeah all right so one of my biggest ways obviously it goes without saying that spamming and but there is a kind of a cool way and I call it attraction marketing and and it’s a little bit more intensive been turning on a facebook ad but this is a legit way to do it so the first thing that you should do is get your personal Facebook profile kind of look into little business II you mean I know you’re not really supposed to use it for business but put a nice cover photo up there you know make sure your page is linked in your bio and you know just get it looking not like you’re gonna show like 8000 pictures of your cat or something all right get it looking and make sure your avatar is your face like not a cat not a dog not a cartoon like your face and then what you’re gonna do is you’re gonna go into Facebook groups but before you do that you’re gonna post on your timeline something about your webinar or your funnel or whatever you know what I mean like post something and I call this wall baked and this is like bait it’s just sitting on your personal timeline where you have complete free reign and then all you need to do is go into Facebook groups do not post just answer questions your main goal is to just answer questions and be as helpful as you can know mal-intent know promo no spam usually what happens is if you go and help a hundred people twenty or thirty of them are gonna go click on your profile and there’s your wall bait sitting right there I love that because that’s what that’s what they do your latest post right and don’t make it a weird selfie if you like make it some make it the entrance to your funnel that’s a cool idea I love wall bait or good that term I coined that that’s now trademarked wall bait so that’s like my big way like if you need to fill up a webinar need to get 20 30 people on it just help people and then help people who would probably like your webinar and put the webinar on your profile so that’s one way the second way is to put it as the signature in your email ID and your email like put a little tagline and be like hey do you want to know how to whatever you know and then put a link there so that’s another way the third ways to get on podcasts right this yes so start looking for podcasts lots of podcasters need interviewees like it’s a constant need so find podcasts where your target audience lives and make sure that you have a really easy link because it’s all audio so don’t be like go to Julie’s giant com keyword groups key word you know make it easy so that you can say it and then people can go to that link I think that’s one of the main things I obviously those guys are listening for knock already you know I have a lot of people on I always give them at the end the key here any time you’re on a podcast obviously you got to provide a massive amount of value before you start doing any self promotion or anything like that yeah but most hosts are gonna be very generous with you as far as if you just provided 20 minutes of value to their audience you have no problem saying hey you know what where could they find you where can they reach out to you exactly and keep that super super simple I guess some people or it is this huge long thing I’m like you have to understand people are either driving they’re exercising yeah they’re not gonna remember that yeah make special links for you know I was on yo fire and he was like you you know make a link that’s like your domain slash fire yeah right so do you do the same thing if you’re on Dave’s you know podcast it’s like you know Julie’s story and calm slash funnel hacker something like that yeah GLD does a great job anytime you listen to his his links always end in fire fire yeah so so podcasts are great way email signature you know it’s you have to like it’s more slow going if you have no ad budget it’s just more slow going obviously you can do things like Pinterest we had an episode on Pinterest write pinterest with blogs which lead into your funnel you can do that you can also do guest posting on other people’s sites where there’s already an audience that’s quite Ian’s guest has a blog yeah so like offering to guest post on you know somebody else’s blog where they will provide you with you know on a link and so then you can add the link to your funnel that way so obviously like traditional PR publicity can get tons of traffic like if you get a good media piece you can get a lot of traffic that way and then JV partners this is a huge one like three one hundred I’m huge believer in that yeah so we just actually I mean this is important when I favor talkin tears dream 100 it was really fun we had CRISPR boss who is commenting on a couple of my facebook lives has followed Russell he was super kind the other day and sent me a very very genuine gift I’d done a facebook live right around Christmastime about one of my favorite Christmas carols I heard the bells on Christmas Day and so my post was basically God is not dead nor doth he sleep which came from the Carroll and he actually had written a handwritten note sent me this a little tiny travel treasure chest where he opened it up and inside were two little tiny books about the size of my thumb which were picture books about to Carol and they’d bookmark that piece there as far as God is not dead nor doth he sleep and then today I walked in the office and Russell loves getting presents so if you want to get on Russell’s list send great presents to the office but it’s really cool because he sent a very personal thing to Russell as you know Russell’s him remember the Church of Jesus Christ Latter day Saints were Mormons and the first prophet was Joseph Smith and he is his brother Hyrum were both martyred and basically what happened was there was a little bronze I don’t what is three inches so like that little tiny thing but it was the thought that he put behind it and it was really cool because Chris Berg basically had taken a picture the one that he had on his desk and that was on the back of the letter and then he had enclosed that in his gift to Russell again not asking for anything it was just totally thank you so much I’ve gotten all this value from the content you’re you’re providing and my way of saying thank you to you was just by sending this and so it’s kind of cool Julian era both there as Russell opening it and it was it was touching to Russell because he put so much thought into it on the flip side we had someone who is dying to spend once an hour worth of Russell’s time wants him to film a video wants to write the foreword of his book gave a send a gift to the Austin then just shows up and like it doesn’t work that way that’s the wrong way to do it that’s called a bribe exactly yeah so like the dream 100 is like building those strategic relationships because at some point there may be a situation where you can there’s a win-win for both of you and then you can leverage their audience you know but it’s gotta be like you can’t be weird about it this is the thing it’s it’s about being thoughtful and giving value upfront at first and so one you know David on that I want to cut you off there but then the whole idea is what Julie just said I can’t stress that enough it is being thoughtful and giving value so often everyone it’s what’s in it for me what’s in it for me what’s in it for me and that especially if you don’t have money right now to spend on a huge ad budget then what you have is time right right and so make sure that that time is valuable time for you as well as for whoever you’re reaching out to exactly and you know people can smell genuinely I want to build a relationship versus I just want something from you but you know Dana Derek’s who wrote the dream 100 book he’s basically said like one dream 100 person who couldn’t who could give me a shout out is worth thousands and thousands of dollars in ad and ad money I totally agree with that yeah so there’s a couple other things you can do SEO is still something you can do we were talking about that just the other day with aural Adams here in the office yeah so you know in order to use SEO again organic traffic your content has to be it has to be like 10,000 words amazing keyword rich it’s even better if you can get on an authority domain like entrepreneur inks Forbes like that you know so that it can rank up and if you can get a link on there into your funnel you know you’ve got just free traffic all the live long day so let’s kind of talk a little more about thanks I think this is something a lot of you guys are listening could do when we’re saying keyword rich there’s a difference between keyword rich versus keyword stuffing yes so if you don’t mind kind of define the difference there in what we’re talking about yeah so Google’s release now Google used to not be smart and gone were the days you know where you could like let’s say you wanted to write an article on funnels you just write sales funnels like 8 million times right that’s not that doesn’t work anymore you do want your keyword in some strategic places you want it in the title you want it in the permalink so like the link that comes on the end you want to in your meta description of the post and you want it in an h1 tag inside the post itself and you also want it one or two times in the content ideally hyperlinked as well but that’s about it the rest of the time you need to take that keyword and think of all the other ways that you might say that keyword is that the LSI we were talking about LSI yeah latent semantic index yeah and and so you would think of other ways like maybe you would use pipeline or sales funnel versus funnel or sales pipeline or maybe you would say you know lead generation or something like that like because Google wants to see all the words that you would say like a human would say not like a machine and then make sure all of your photos and images and everything on the page are also have keywords or those LSI words that are like like that I think that’s the part a lot of people forget like images you get a lot of it’s crazy how many people click on images how many people I mean those images actually is a great place to make sure you have those keywords yeah in Google Image Search you know people search for images on Google yeah and then it leads them perfect idea yeah try to get on as authoritative as a domain as possible and you know good content will get links if you can get it on a big site like entrepreneur you don’t really need to worry about it like people will just link into it if you’re on a dinky little site that’s your site you may have to work a little harder to get some links awesome yeah any other ideas you can think of off top your head yeah Instagram Instagram is another one you get one link on Instagram but if you can get 10,000 followers you also get the swipe up feature on Instagram stories it’s again it’s about delivering content that the platform and the people on that platform naturally like you can’t try to like go into Instagram and like put weird things that instagramers don’t like you know leverage whatever’s on that platform and try to be as native to the plot as possible and in lab you can use the biolink as the entry point to your funnel I think it’s great I know shoutouts to things you can buy there also shout outs you can trade so you can actually go out to other peoples pages who have similar type of followers it’s gonna be really hard if you have 500 followers to go to a person with 50,000 right but if you’ve got 500 followers you can reach out to someone else and do a shout out for them and they’ll do the shout out for you as well is especially if it’s in the same type of niche or industry the drill yeah absolutely and you know YouTube is a whole other channel that you can get traffic from this is very SEO driven so you’re looking to create videos with keywords that people are searching for on YouTube really you know keyword rich descriptions tags and link into your funnel LinkedIn I’ve not cracked the Lincoln code but I’ve heard that it’s like any social media platform it’s about being native to the platform and really delivering the kind of content that that platform wants and likes I love that YouTube born things we use is two modal okay where you kind of go in each and look to see what what are some of the if you find another video that’s getting a lot of traffic you can basically if yours in TubeMogul or there’s other ones that do the same type thing where it’ll literally tell you the keywords that are in there what people are searching for and then you can create a video similar to that one usually obvious something a little bit better or something like that that you get that type of stuff but that’s or even reduce we’re seeing a lot of reviews on YouTube they’re getting a lot of traffic yes yep so you know obviously Facebook we talked about we talked about doing the wall bait on your personal profile Facebook lives are still really great ways to get organic reach so you know all of this takes time but if you don’t have money like you said you probably have time you know and so those are the those are the primary ways that I built traffic you know gotten traffic organically well as always we’d love having Giuliana’s been
