Epiphany Bridge Marketing with Tony Robbins & Russell Brunson (Part 3)

Clickfunnels™ Epiphany Bridge – Tony Robbins And Russell Brunson Part3

Clickfunnels™ Epiphany Bridge: We are back for our final episode of the Epiphany Bridge – Tony Robbins And Russell Brunson! In this interview, the guys are talking all about how to sell anything online. Knowing how to sell is pivotal for any business and Russell shares one of his biggest sales tactics that will make selling so much easier for YOU!

Clickfunnels™ Epiphany Bridge: Marketing Strategy with Tony Robbins & Russell Brunson

– Hey this is Russell again, I want to welcome you back to part three of my interview with Tony Robins. I hope you’ve watched part one and part two. If you haven’t yet, go back to the beginning of this playlist and watch those first. Help you get all the context of the interview and now we are transitioning into the third part of the interview. Which is, for me, my favorite part. It is understanding the mastery and mastering a concept called the Epiphany Bridge. What is the Epiphany Bridge? It is the way you tell stories to get customers, to get people, to get prospects to come and become leads, become costumers to buy your products and your services.

And these concepts they work in all types of businesses. In fact, during the interview, Tony asked me, well how does this work for a real business? Not a infomart, you know information business or an internet business, but a real business. And I shared a story about one of my friends whose a chiropractor. I don’t want to ruin that part of the story, you’re gonna love it. But, how he used these epiphany bridge stories to grow his practice here locally in town as well.

And so, there’s a whole bunch of cool things you can learn about storytelling, story selling, how to give people the transformations they need when their buying your products and your services. You’re gonna love this. It’s my favorite part of the whole thing, so let’s jump right in now to part three of the interview with my friend Tony Robins. – Tell us about the Epiphany Bridge and how you can use that concept to sell just about anything, without actually selling anything. –

Actually, got a little white board for you to show this. I did my homework, prepared for today, so this is funny, most people if they’re trying to sell you something, they come to you and they try to pitch you logically on the thing, like why they believe in their thing. So I drew this out one day, and this has been huge for me and for everyone that goes through my coaching stuff. Is this thing called the Epiphany Bridge. What happens is like, this is us, right here, right? And we’re living our normal life, I could use this example, before I met you, before I started going to your things, life was good, I thought everything was perfect. And then I was introduced to you and I had this epiphany where it was like life is good, but I’m seeing things in black and white, now things are colorful.

Clickfunnels™ Epiphany Bridge

Clickfunnels™ Epiphany Bridge: Emotional experience is important

For me, it was huge. So I went on this journey where I went on this big Epiphany Bridge and what happens is we come over here to this side of the bridge. What happens over here is we start studying, we start learning, we start geeking out. And so, I went to all your events, read all your books multiple times, your courses. For you, I’m in the Tony world, right? I understand your language patterns. And then I go to my wife and I’m so excited to tell her I learned all this stuff, and the first thing that we all do is we jump over here, and this says techno babble, we jump and we start trying to logically convince the people around us. Like, oh yeah, you could learn this thing, and we spew out this techno babble and they freak out. They’re like, “ugh” and they run away right?

What we have to do, if we want to sell something to somebody, we have to come back to this thing. We have to remember what was the emotional experience that we had that gave us that big epiphany. If you understand an emotional experience, then that’s how you sell someone. I come back and I tell a story, when I tell that story, my goal is to get people to have the same epiphany that I had, if they have that same epiphany then I don’t have to sell them anything. They have that epiphany, they go “wow that’s true” and they’ll go sell themselves logically all day long.

I just have to come back here, remember the experience I had, and become really good at telling it. In the book, it’s not just like telling a story, I walk through like the process and the scripts, and how to control their state, and this is a huge thing I learned from you, ’cause how many people tell a story and one person tells a story and something happened, and you’re like “okay cool”, you try to explain it three or four times and finally you say, oh man, I guess you had to be there, if you were there you would’ve experienced it.

The biggest thing I’ve always seen people struggle with they try to get into business, they try to sell their advice, and things like that, is they get into this used car salesman mode of trying to learn how to close people, and I’m like “no, it’s not closing” What was it that got you fired up, if you can remember that moment, and you get really good at telling that story then they’ll feel that and they’ll get fired up too, and that’s the key. And so we understand that and this book is all about that. – As you know leadership is all about transferring emotion because logic does not get us to take action, there’s not enough juice in the logic right? When will we have enough logic to justify an emotional decision?

Clickfunnels™ Epiphany Bridge: Whats the biggest misconception of marketing?

What do think is the biggest misconception about marketing today, and what do people, if they only did one thing to change their marketing for the better, what would it be? – I think the biggest misconception is that people and this comes down to everything I learned from you, People are so tied to their significance that when they try to sell themselves their business that they try to posture themselves all the time and posturing deflects people, even though it makes you feel, I don’t know what it is, the more vulnerable you get, the better it is. We have our high end coaching programs for less, how do you sell that Russell? I’m like “I show a ten minute video of me telling my story of my wife and we’re trying to have twins, cried three or four times in it, and I tell that story, I’m super vulnerable, and people connect with me and then they follow me.

It’s about connection and being vulnerable is that’s what get people to draw into you, it’s not significance or stature, its vulnerability, and that’s what gets people in. And that works for any business, I had a friend who’s a chiropractor, I was trying to help him, and it was funny, ’cause he was trying to sell like all the other chiropractors talked about their fees and all this stuff, and how the adjustment and alignment and all this technical stuff and I kept asking him, finally one day, I was like “why are you a chiropractor”, and he told me this amazing story about his wife got in a car wreck and he was in dental school at the time, and she got injured really really bad and took her to a medical doctor, a couple places and nothing helped.

Finally he took her to a chiropractor, and he adjusts her and literally changed her life and he loved it so much he dropped out of dental school, and then he went and became a chiropractor, now he loves it. And so we got a video of him telling that story, that emotional, I got chills just telling it again told that story, put it on Facebook, and his practice was struggling, as he was trying to be a salesperson, blew up overnight as he started sharing his story and becoming vulnerable with people.

That’s the future market, it used to be slick sales letters, good copy, all that kind of stuff, that’s what worked before today, as people are watching your video, they’re Googling your name, and Facebooking you, doing everything, if you’re not vulnerable at all times, and being yourself all the time it’s too easy to not know and it’s all about just that connection, that’s marketing today, and that’s where it’s going. –

Clickfunnels™ Epiphany Bridge: The Expert Secret Book

That’s what I love about you brother, you’re the real thing, it’s so rare unfortunately, ’cause you know the more you try to prove you’re the best and try to convince people and try to be significant, the more they want to prove they’re more significant than you.

You’ve never done that, I love that you share openly everything, your failures, successes, but the level of succession generated is second to none, I really want people to get your book, so what’s your offer for them so they can go pick that up? – I pre-bought a whole bunch of copies of this during our launch, so I’ve already paid for the book, so I ship them to Boise, and now they’re in a warehouse in Boise, and we’ve gotta ship them to you, so I think in the US it’s $7.95 international I think it’s $14.95 but we’ll ship it out to you and basically, I want people to read this, I tell everyone, I believe this book will change your life but more importantly, it’s gonna give you the tools you need to help change other people’s lives, and that’s the gift I have for everybody. I hope you guys read this book and you love it, and I want to thank you for letting me share this with your audience, I just appreciate you, you’ve changed my life, my wife’s life and half our staff, you know, everyone here, so grateful for you.

Tony Robbins and Russell Brunson How To 10x Your Success in Any Business (Part 2)

ClickFunnels™ Business Success – 10x Your Business Success (Part 2)

ClickFunnels™ Business Success

ClickFunnels™ Business Success: Welcome to the second video in our series with Tony Robbins and Russell Brunson. In this episode, we talk about how to position yourself as an expert so you can 10X your business. This business strategy happens to be what both Tony and Russell have done to be successful and they explain how you can apply it to any business. ClickFunnels™ Business Success

Different Types of Business: ClickFunnels™ Business Success

– Hey everyone, this is Russell Brunson again, and I wanna welcome you back to part number two of my interview with the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Tony Robbins. If you haven’t watched the first part of the interview yet, go back up in the playlist and watch that one first, because you don’t wanna not watch that before you get to part number two. ClickFunnels™ Business Success

Now in the part number two, I’m excited for you because in here, we start diving deeper into the different types of businesses, and I go through two types of businesses I call ’em two expert businesses. One of ’em is where you become an expert selling your own products, like I was a potato gun expert, Tony Robbins is the personal development expert right?

So there’s that type of business, but the other side of it, which a lot of people don’t know about, is let’s say you already have a business, you’re selling physical products on Amazon or ecommerce things or you have a gym or maybe you are a chiropractor, or dentist, or financial planner like, if you have an existing business, you could also apply the expert strategies, that Tony and I are gonna talk about next, into your business. Now on top of that, you’re gonna learn a whole bunch of other things, like how do you create a tribe of people, what’re the three commonalities in every single tribe? ClickFunnels™ Business Success

Expert Secrets Book: ClickFunnels™ Business Success

Every mass movement that’s even been started from the beginning of time ’til now, what is a new opportunity, how do you create one, and a whole bunch of other amazing things, that you are gonna love, so with that said, let’s jump into part two of the interview with Tony Robbins. – You know in your book you talk about the two types of kind of expert businesses.

You know, the people who don’t wanna be an expert also, but just wanna grow their company, you know, how would this work for them as well? So many you can give us those differentiations so people have an understanding how to look at this. – Yeah definitely, so the first kind of expert business is one I think people are familiar with, is, I look at you like you are the king of this, right?

Like doing books and seminars and like positioning yourself as an expert, and that’s like a big piece of this, which is really really cool and I think anybody who’s got any kind of talent or specialized knowledge or something they’re passionate about can do that kind of business. And you can make great money, you can serve people.

Understand Business Principles: ClickFunnels™ Business Success

But I know there’s a lot of people that come in my world they’re like, well, Russell, I don’t wanna do that, like I own a software company or supplement company or I’m a chiropractor or whatever those things might be, and it’s interesting like when I launched our software company, ClickFunnels™, like, it’s just a, it’s a boring software company, and we’re competing against other boring software companies. And but I was able to take all these principles we teach in here and kind of attach like a person to a software company. ClickFunnels™ Business Success

And we took it from no members to, right now, actually today, we passed 40,000 active members inside of ClickFunnels™.I think one of the fastest-growing non-VC backed startups in the world, and it’s because these principles like you take it, and it takes any kind of business and lights it on fire, in fact, I’ve got a friend who’s a financial planner and he’s, there’s how many financial planners, in Boise, Idaho, where I’m at, there’s, you know, a thousand of ’em here. But people come and they actually, they will fly over like 30 states to get to him, they’ll pay him 10 times more, and he does the exact same thing, because he’s positioned himself as this expert.

And we understand that it’s like man, like you can charge more, you’re no longer a commodity, people will come to you, you can serve people the higher level, like so many cool things come when you understand how to wrap these principles into any type of business, it doesn’t just have to be an expert business. -And I think, positioning as an expert you know, one of the things I love about what you do is you make sure the person is an expert. (laughter) So tell me, what’s the pattern that you started discovering, you talked about this in the book, that you know, every mass movement really starts with, I think it was three patterns, if I remember correctly. Yeah, it’s cool ’cause when I was creatin’ this book, and I’m just like you, like I learned this from you, I model everyone right? ClickFunnels™ Business Success

Look At The Best Business Experts: ClickFunnels™ Business Success

So I’m like okay, I’m building a software company, who do I model, who are the best out there? And I was looking at everything. Initially started the business, I look at like Apple and Steve Jobs and like, what did he do? And then I started looking at like Tesla, and Elon Musk and the I started taking a step back and I looked at politics and like, what are the people that are winning doing, versus the people that are losing, then I went and took another step back and I started studying everything from like.

The really negative like cult and how did they work and then religion, and everything in between and it was cool, as I was going deep into study, and I know you’ve done this before, you’re going through stuff and all of a sudden like, I started seeing this weird pattern. And I was in a point of immersion where I was like, for three or four weeks just geekin’ out, and it was cool as soon as I identified the pattern then I started looking at our company I was like, okay, we’re doing parts of this, or maybe one or two things, but now that I know it, how can we amplify and what are the things we can do to make it better, and so we started doing all of those pieces and then we tested them and then we’d see what would happen, and so the book’s kind of cool ’cause it gives you. ClickFunnels™ Business Success

Business Strategy: ClickFunnels™ Business Success

And I’ll show you in a second, it shows you the strategy, here’s the three things that’ll happen, then it shows, here’s the practical application that we did inside ClickFunnels™, we did these four things, and that’s what got us from, you know, 20,000 members to 30,000 within like a three month period of time, what’re those things, and so I’ll show you guys, in my books, I’m a big doodler. ‘Cause that’s how my brain works.

But like there’s tons of sketches, like this is a sketch from this so, this right here, this is the three things every mass movement from the beginning of time, all it’s had now kinda goin’ through real quickly, number one is all of ’em have some type of charismatic leader, and that’s a big thing ’cause it’s hard to connect to just a brand. Longer term you can do that, but initially, especially like, it’s a person you connect with that gets you to wanna follow.  The number two thing in the pattern is all of ’em had like a future-based cause, that they were taking people towards. ClickFunnels™ Business Success

And one of the coolest ways I found, I talk about this, I went through all the US elections from the one that just happened all the way back to like George Bush, or excuse me all the way back to George Washington and what’s interesting is I was able to find most of the campaign slogans on both the sides like Republican or Democrat, it didn’t matter who won, what party or whatever, but the ones that won, all the candidates had like a very future-based cause. Think about Trump was, let’s make American great again. And all the people that lost had a very present-based cause like Hillary had, I think hers, the two or three slogans of kind of hers like, I’m with her, and very present-based things.

ClickFunnels™ Business Success

Expert Secrets: ClickFunnels™ Business Success

Even back when Obama won, Obama’s all about change, and Bush wasn’t and then like, it’s interesting and so, I started realizing that and so inside of our big mass movement we were trying to create, I realized like, we need a future-based cause, like what is that, so we created one and then we figure out how to amplify it and we show all the examples of how we’ve done that, and that gets people to want to come with you. And then the third thing, and this is probably the least understood but I think the most important is every mass movement, they, the leader offered their people a new opportunity.

Which is, they didn’t come and try to just help people become better, but they were like look, this is a new opportunity I wanted to– – How would you define, so a lot of people don’t make that, I don’t sound simple, but how do you define a new opportunity if your mind? ClickFunnels™ Business Success:

Yeah, so there– – So many people take something that currently exists, and they convert it into seemingly a new opportunity, I’m just curious, what’s your definition? – So for me I look at like, whatever customer we’re trying to serve, right, they’re coming to us and they want a result, so they have, this is the result I wanna get over here.

And usually, we’re not the first person they came to. Like usually, they’ve been trying to get this result for a while. And they’re in some vehicle, and I like visualize it as a vehicle, they’re in a car, they’re in a vehicle, they’re driving to get to that result, and so, what most people do in business success is they come and they sell what I call improvement offers, so they’ll come and like, oh that vehicle you’re in, well, it’s like, let me step back, so an example, let’s say you’re into weightloss, let’s say you wanna lose weight, so the vehicle you might be in, let’s say it’s the Atkins diet, or it could be whatever diet right?

Think of a New Opportunity: ClickFunnels™ Business Success

And that’s the vehicle, and they’re in that thing. And so an improvement offer’s coming back and what most people do is like hey, you’re in this thing, I’m gonna make that experience better for you, we’re gonna, whatever, they try to make it better. But the hard thing is that, someone knows what that experience is like, they’re in this vehicle, trying to get their result, and if they’re not happy like, they’re not happy, and it’s no matter how hard we try to make that process better, it’s gonna be, you’re always gonna have tons of friction.

Whereas if I come and say look, –  Compare you to them even if you’re different. – Yeah exactly, so if I come and I can create an actual new opportunity and say look, get out of the vehicle you’re in gettin’ that result, come over to this vehicle, it’s completely different it’s a new opportunity, this is what’s gonna take you over here, that’s how it cause issue changes. ClickFunnels™ Business Success

One of my favorites, it’s a friend you and I both have, Dave Asprey, he came in with his movement, he’s like look, you’re gonna eat high fat, put butter in your coffee, all sorts of things, and people are like what in the world? – Haven’t you ever heard of that description before? You told him he was nuts! (laughter) He’s gonna end up so genius. – Oh so brilliant, and everyone’s jumpin’ from their vehicles comin’ to here ’cause like, I don’t know what they’re doin’, but that sounds way better and they come over and he’s built a huge mass movement, huge company, supplement company, retail stores, everything based on this new opportunity he provided people and it was brilliant as you know.

Hey this is Russell again, thank you so much for watching part two of my interview with Tony Robbins, how crazy is it that Tony interviewed me? The One Big Takeaway From My Secret Mastermind And Dream 100 Con | FHTV Ep 111

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind – Marketing Strategies To Get Audience

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind: In this week’s episode, Russell Brunson dives a little deeper to talk about why putting out so many “hooks” is one of the key marketing strategies for your business. Set in the backdrop of Russell’s Mastermind and the Dream 100 con, Russell explains why testing your headlines allows you to see what is capturing attention in your audience. ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

(smooth guitar music) – [Russell] Good morning everybody, this is Russell Brunson. Today I’m streaming from a little cabin in the middle of nowhere. These last few days I’ve been on a top secret retreat with a whole bunch of amazing business owners, and it’s been cool, it’s been interesting.

I’m about to jump on a helicopter with this guy. – Let’s go baby! – [Russell] Are you flyin’ it? – I’m flyin’. (laughs) – [Russell] Are you flyin’? – Yeah, I’m flyin’. – [Russell] How many of these do you own at this point? – Helicopters? – [Russell] Yeah. – I want a helicopter. (laughing) – I’m slackin’ Russell. – Oh man. – [Russell] It’s interesting what you learn about yourself because I know I’m introverted by nature and I just assume that at this point in my life that I’m not.

Especially around a group of people that are in my same world. I’m like, “Oh, this is gonna be so much fun.” I don’t know, it was tough for me a lot of times. Introverted Russell kept popping out and it was knowing that about myself, I was like, “Why do I feel so awkward “in so many situations that don’t make sense?” So for any of you guys who feel that sometimes and you don’t understand.

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

You’re like, “Why do I feel awkward here? “Why do I not feel comfortable?” It still happens, even to me, even among my peer group where it’s just tough sometimes. But we proudly got through it and made some great relationships which was cool. (upbeat guitar music) We went fly fishing and then we went hiking, then we went and shot guns.

Yesterday we went to go fly fishing. It’s funny, we go down there and they get me all set up and teach me how to do the casting, which that part is kind of cool, you try to figure it out. It was interesting because I’m noticing that there’s this hook, I’ll get my pole and throw it in, then pull it out, throw it in, pull it out, throw it out, pull. And doing this over and over and over I was looking at it and I was like, “This is so much like business, right?” You guys have heard me talk about the whole hook story offer framework which is like the foundation of everything we’re teaching nowadays.

You have to create an irresistible offer then you’ve gotta have a story that amplifies the value of that offer, and then you have to have a hook that stops ’em and grabs ’em right? In our world now everyone’s so busy through social media. There’s a million things happening every second. How do you grab someone? If our hook doesn’t convince the fish that it’s a worm or a bug or whatever, they’re not gonna come and bite the line, right? I think a lot of times some of us are trying this business, putting out your first thing and nobody bites.

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

Then you’re like, “The thing doesn’t work, “it isn’t working.” It’s like, “No, your hook didn’t work, right?” You gotta keep throwing hook in after hook after hook after hook. Half of what I do in this business is figuring out hooks to grab people. Every email I send is a hook.  Every Facebook live is a hook.

Trying all these different hooks to see which things people respond to. But it’s interesting because even to me, tons of my hooks fail, and tons of the different messages I put out there do not resonate with people, they don’t do anything with them. It’s really fascinating. The good news is nobody knows when I fail because nobody sees them because we don’t put much advertising dollars behind it ’cause the first hook didn’t catch any fish, right? The same thing for you.

You’ve gotta cast out all these different messages and headlines and hooks and things until you find something that somebody grabs onto. (peaceful orchestral music) Hey Brendon, where are we en route right now? – We are jumping in helicopters and we’re going to a lake. – Secretly. – A secret lake in Jackson Hole for some kayaking. We’re helicoptering in, kayaking around, and then getting these guys on airplanes. – So this is an Illuminati meeting and he is the head of the, no just kidding. (laughing) I think it’s Walker. Who’s the head of this organization anyway?

They literally brought the helicopter directly to the place we’re staying at. (lively rock music) – Alright, we’re here. We’re off to jump on those kayaks right there and they’re taking us into the river before we actually fly home in a few minutes. So that’s what’s happening. – You know something I’m just thankful for my father gave me a love of nature when I was young. So if you’re parents out there get your kids outside. (dramatic rock music) – Alright, good morning morning.

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

So I went to bed last night, sent all those images we were doodling on my bed over here, sent all these awesome things to Vlad and woke up this morning and guess what’s done? Boom, three types of traffic.  Pretty awesome. So now we got all the presentations I need for the event today with Dana Derricks. I’m giving a new presentation I’ve never done before that is actually the framework for the new Traffic Secrets book. I have a two hour time slot so for two hours I’m gonna be teaching the framework for my book, and I’m gonna see what hits and what doesn’t. So excited to try it out and hopefully it resonates with people.

So we’ll see. (laughing) Alright, wish me luck, I’m gonna go over my slides. – [Narrator] Dream 100 Con getting going! (upbeat pop music) – Mr. Russell Brunson! (crowd cheering) (crowd clapping) – Oh, well thank you guys so much. I am excited to be here, this is so much fun. I feel like I’m with a whole bunch of my family and friends. This event’s called Dream 100 Con, it’s about Dream 100, which is like the foundation of Traffic Secrets. This is the perfect audience and opportunity for me on a small scale to test out my material.

The third type of traffic, and this is the best and the most important, is the traffic that you own. My entire goal of our business, if you look at everything we’re doing from a traffic generation standpoint, is to convert traffic I can control, traffic that I earn into traffic that I actually own. ‘Cause if you own the traffic, that’s the secret sauce right?

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

And to feel what works, what doesn’t work, cut things out, move things around, and then I’m gonna start writing the book. But notice what I’m doing right, I’m throwing hooks out on the side of the thing, just throwing hook, hook, hook, trying to see what things people resonate with, what things people are gravitating towards. Jay Abraham taught me this initially.

So look, if you’re trying to find two adventure partners, Dream 100, first you gotta figure out is where does your product, your service, fit in the timeline of your dream customer, and you gotta figure out what are all the services they need before they come to you and what are all the services they need after they come to you. (lively rock music) (clapping) So for you, I want you just thinking about that. If you’re writing your webinar page, you’re doing your thing, and you haven’t been throwing out hooks, you’re just guessing.

You’re gonna write the first version of your book and you’re gonna get it back and it may suck. It may be awesome, you may have landed the first time, but you gotta go out on the road and test your material, and you should do it through all these different means. Do it through podcast interviews. Test out your framework. Test out your concepts and see what lands and what doesn’t. And then do the same thing on Facebook live, do it on your own page, do it on other people’s page.

ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind: You’re just testing out material the whole time so you can find out what lands and what doesn’t land. Hope it helps, guys. Time to start throwing some hooks and if you do that you’re gonna have a lot of fun. Alright, I gotta bounce, I gotta get everything packed up and get outta here so they don’t leave me, ’cause if I miss the helicopter flying me back to the airport, then I am screwed. So alright, thanks everybody. Appreciate you all, thanks for listening and we’ll talk to you soon. ClickFunnels™ Secret Mastermind

ClickFunnels™ Big Fish: In today’s action-packed episode Russell Brunson goes ICO and introduces his very own bitcoin, the Russ Brun coin. Russell and the Click Funnels team also play a game of Uber Eats Roulette and check out some videos submitted by adults and babies alike as they search for someone to become the next spokesperson, or spokesbaby, for Click Funnels.  ClickFunnels™ Big Fish

He got stuck right around the rock. That’s like a fricken ham, like a whole lotta ham sandwich right here. – [Dave] Oh my gosh! Wow! – [Country Man] You gonna measure him? – I mean look at the size of that fish. Look at that kid, unbelievable. – [Dave] Dude, that’s crazy – [Man In

Scaling Webinars On The Phone – Kim Barrett – FHR #195

Scaling Webinars On The Phone – Kim Barrett – FHR #195

Why Dave Chose to Interview Kim:

Kim Barrett is one of ClickFunnels™’ Two Comma Club Winners. Kim is amazing at monetizing multiple sales paths with the same lead through one funnel. Kim’s use of the thank you page and new opt in strategies have helped him earn the coveted 2 Comma Club award. More importantly it has helped him build a very successful business providing Done For You Marketing Services. Whether you are looking to scale or looking for a funnel to hack to get in the business of serving clients you will love what Kim presents.

Tips and Tricks for You and Your Business:

-Systems results in scaling up and passed that $1,000,000 bench mark. (3:39)

-Who should we hire to lower the energy we put into tasks that aren’t compatible with our skill sets and focus more on what we’re good at? (5:32)

-How can all of us maximize our clients through our funnels? (8:14)

-Kim was able to get sales BEFORE the webinar started through the sales letter he used (12:35)

-Our “Thank You” Pages are really hot real estate for driving up our ability to influence others around us. (17:36)

-Calling is for the winners according to Kim Barrett. (20:20)

Quotable Moments:

“You can’t past that next level which is that $750K and towards the $1,000,000 unless you have a system across all of your businesses. And this is not just from the marketing standpoint but you need to develop systems to each of those new levels and new heights.”

“I think that’s the way true brilliance and true expertise lie is when you can make things simple to understand and your confident in what you do.”

“When people show us funnels and especially when we see their campaigns and stuff, they don’t give people the option to take the next step. Like well if I opt-in for something, generally speaking, I want to get an outcome. I don’t go around opting in just for fun.”

“That ‘Thank You’ Page for us is one of the most expensive pieces of real estate to just disregard.”

Other Tidbits:

There’s more than one way to skin a cat as many of us have all heard, and hopefully don’t have too much personal experience with. This concept really applies to Kim as he came to find out when it came to webinars. He saw that his skill wasn’t selling to people over the video as most extroverted people are. He instead saw that he was best at selling to people over the phone. As he realized this he began to change his model of webinars to get as many people to buy in before the webinar even started. He got this idea from his realization that he was the kind ideal target of the webinar.

Funnel Hacker Radio Episode 186 – Launching A Online Marketing Funnel With No Ad Budget

Funnel Hacker Radio Episode 186 – Launching A Online Marketing Funnel With No Ad Budget

Why Dave Chose to Interview Julie Stoian:

I get asked all of the time how to launch a funnel if I don’t have any money to spend on Facebook or other Ad platforms. Julie Stoian provides 6 different ways you can use to get free traffic to your funnel. The key is to get started asap.

Tips and Tricks for You and Your Business:

Traction Marketing, it’s kind of awesome guys. (0:58)

Dave and Julie stress the difference between a gift between a gift and a bribe. (4:54)

SEO, Search Engine Optimization, is still something you can do and Julie breaks it down for us. (8:10)

Quotable Moments:

“Usually what happens is if you go out and help 100 people, 20 or 30 of them are going to go in and click on your profile and there’s your ‘Wallbait’ sitting right there”

“If you don’t have money to send on a huge ad budget then what you do have is time. And so make sure that the time your spending is of value to you and of value to the person you’re reaching out to.”

“Again, it’s about delivering content that the platform, and the people on that platform, actually like.”

Other Tidbits:

There is a fine line between a bribe and a gift to show appreciation. Dave tells us about how somebody who had sent a handwritten letter and miniature copies of Dave’s favorite book no bigger than his thumb. This gift meant a lot to him personally and although no favors were reciprocated, he gained a lot of respect for this man. Dave then contrasts this to someone else who gave Russel a somewhat thoughtful gift and shows up the next day expecting to be able to borrow some of Russel’s time. Although Russel pulled himself away from his work for this guy, their relationship ended there as he didn’t see any reason to associate with someone who would have such an entitled persona.

Audio Clips:

(4:10-4:28) “Podcasts are a great way, email signatures…you know, it’s more slow going, if you have no ad budget it’s just more slow going. You can do things on Pinterest, we had an episode on Pinterest with blogs that lead into your funnel, you can do that.”

(11:30-11:46) “YouTube is a whole other channel that you can get traffic from. It’s very SEO driven so you’re looking to create videos with key words that people are searching for on that people are searching for on YouTube.

Http://FunnelHackingLive.com Come see Julie in Atlanta March 23rd and 24th and ask you’re your questions as she hosts one of our Round Tables

welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward hey every welcome back again to funnel hacker radio I’m your host Dave literate and again today we have the one and only Julie stone with us we’re super excited today because this is a topic that people are always asking about cuz everyone’s always it for gosh I know you can spend money on Facebook and you do all these things to drive traffic but what if I have no money and I want to be able to get free traffic or build my funnel so we brought Julie on to kind of talk about how to actually do this so what are some of the ideas and things that you have as far as idea is to make that happen yeah all right so one of my biggest ways obviously it goes without saying that spamming and but there is a kind of a cool way and I call it attraction marketing and and it’s a little bit more intensive been turning on a facebook ad but this is a legit way to do it so the first thing that you should do is get your personal Facebook profile kind of look into little business II you mean I know you’re not really supposed to use it for business but put a nice cover photo up there you know make sure your page is linked in your bio and you know just get it looking not like you’re gonna show like 8000 pictures of your cat or something all right get it looking and make sure your avatar is your face like not a cat not a dog not a cartoon like your face and then what you’re gonna do is you’re gonna go into Facebook groups but before you do that you’re gonna post on your timeline something about your webinar or your funnel or whatever you know what I mean like post something and I call this wall baked and this is like bait it’s just sitting on your personal timeline where you have complete free reign and then all you need to do is go into Facebook groups do not post just answer questions your main goal is to just answer questions and be as helpful as you can know mal-intent know promo no spam usually what happens is if you go and help a hundred people twenty or thirty of them are gonna go click on your profile and there’s your wall bait sitting right there I love that because that’s what that’s what they do your latest post right and don’t make it a weird selfie if you like make it some make it the entrance to your funnel that’s a cool idea I love wall bait or good that term I coined that that’s now trademarked wall bait so that’s like my big way like if you need to fill up a webinar need to get 20 30 people on it just help people and then help people who would probably like your webinar and put the webinar on your profile so that’s one way the second way is to put it as the signature in your email ID and your email like put a little tagline and be like hey do you want to know how to whatever you know and then put a link there so that’s another way the third ways to get on podcasts right this yes so start looking for podcasts lots of podcasters need interviewees like it’s a constant need so find podcasts where your target audience lives and make sure that you have a really easy link because it’s all audio so don’t be like go to Julie’s giant com keyword groups key word you know make it easy so that you can say it and then people can go to that link I think that’s one of the main things I obviously those guys are listening for knock already you know I have a lot of people on I always give them at the end the key here any time you’re on a podcast obviously you got to provide a massive amount of value before you start doing any self promotion or anything like that yeah but most hosts are gonna be very generous with you as far as if you just provided 20 minutes of value to their audience you have no problem saying hey you know what where could they find you where can they reach out to you exactly and keep that super super simple I guess some people or it is this huge long thing I’m like you have to understand people are either driving they’re exercising yeah they’re not gonna remember that yeah make special links for you know I was on yo fire and he was like you you know make a link that’s like your domain slash fire yeah right so do you do the same thing if you’re on Dave’s you know podcast it’s like you know Julie’s story and calm slash funnel hacker something like that yeah GLD does a great job anytime you listen to his his links always end in fire fire yeah so so podcasts are great way email signature you know it’s you have to like it’s more slow going if you have no ad budget it’s just more slow going obviously you can do things like Pinterest we had an episode on Pinterest write pinterest with blogs which lead into your funnel you can do that you can also do guest posting on other people’s sites where there’s already an audience that’s quite Ian’s guest has a blog yeah so like offering to guest post on you know somebody else’s blog where they will provide you with you know on a link and so then you can add the link to your funnel that way so obviously like traditional PR publicity can get tons of traffic like if you get a good media piece you can get a lot of traffic that way and then JV partners this is a huge one like three one hundred I’m huge believer in that yeah so we just actually I mean this is important when I favor talkin tears dream 100 it was really fun we had CRISPR boss who is commenting on a couple of my facebook lives has followed Russell he was super kind the other day and sent me a very very genuine gift I’d done a facebook live right around Christmastime about one of my favorite Christmas carols I heard the bells on Christmas Day and so my post was basically God is not dead nor doth he sleep which came from the Carroll and he actually had written a handwritten note sent me this a little tiny travel treasure chest where he opened it up and inside were two little tiny books about the size of my thumb which were picture books about to Carol and they’d bookmark that piece there as far as God is not dead nor doth he sleep and then today I walked in the office and Russell loves getting presents so if you want to get on Russell’s list send great presents to the office but it’s really cool because he sent a very personal thing to Russell as you know Russell’s him remember the Church of Jesus Christ Latter day Saints were Mormons and the first prophet was Joseph Smith and he is his brother Hyrum were both martyred and basically what happened was there was a little bronze I don’t what is three inches so like that little tiny thing but it was the thought that he put behind it and it was really cool because Chris Berg basically had taken a picture the one that he had on his desk and that was on the back of the letter and then he had enclosed that in his gift to Russell again not asking for anything it was just totally thank you so much I’ve gotten all this value from the content you’re you’re providing and my way of saying thank you to you was just by sending this and so it’s kind of cool Julian era both there as Russell opening it and it was it was touching to Russell because he put so much thought into it on the flip side we had someone who is dying to spend once an hour worth of Russell’s time wants him to film a video wants to write the foreword of his book gave a send a gift to the Austin then just shows up and like it doesn’t work that way that’s the wrong way to do it that’s called a bribe exactly yeah so like the dream 100 is like building those strategic relationships because at some point there may be a situation where you can there’s a win-win for both of you and then you can leverage their audience you know but it’s gotta be like you can’t be weird about it this is the thing it’s it’s about being thoughtful and giving value upfront at first and so one you know David on that I want to cut you off there but then the whole idea is what Julie just said I can’t stress that enough it is being thoughtful and giving value so often everyone it’s what’s in it for me what’s in it for me what’s in it for me and that especially if you don’t have money right now to spend on a huge ad budget then what you have is time right right and so make sure that that time is valuable time for you as well as for whoever you’re reaching out to exactly and you know people can smell genuinely I want to build a relationship versus I just want something from you but you know Dana Derek’s who wrote the dream 100 book he’s basically said like one dream 100 person who couldn’t who could give me a shout out is worth thousands and thousands of dollars in ad and ad money I totally agree with that yeah so there’s a couple other things you can do SEO is still something you can do we were talking about that just the other day with aural Adams here in the office yeah so you know in order to use SEO again organic traffic your content has to be it has to be like 10,000 words amazing keyword rich it’s even better if you can get on an authority domain like entrepreneur inks Forbes like that you know so that it can rank up and if you can get a link on there into your funnel you know you’ve got just free traffic all the live long day so let’s kind of talk a little more about thanks I think this is something a lot of you guys are listening could do when we’re saying keyword rich there’s a difference between keyword rich versus keyword stuffing yes so if you don’t mind kind of define the difference there in what we’re talking about yeah so Google’s release now Google used to not be smart and gone were the days you know where you could like let’s say you wanted to write an article on funnels you just write sales funnels like 8 million times right that’s not that doesn’t work anymore you do want your keyword in some strategic places you want it in the title you want it in the permalink so like the link that comes on the end you want to in your meta description of the post and you want it in an h1 tag inside the post itself and you also want it one or two times in the content ideally hyperlinked as well but that’s about it the rest of the time you need to take that keyword and think of all the other ways that you might say that keyword is that the LSI we were talking about LSI yeah latent semantic index yeah and and so you would think of other ways like maybe you would use pipeline or sales funnel versus funnel or sales pipeline or maybe you would say you know lead generation or something like that like because Google wants to see all the words that you would say like a human would say not like a machine and then make sure all of your photos and images and everything on the page are also have keywords or those LSI words that are like like that I think that’s the part a lot of people forget like images you get a lot of it’s crazy how many people click on images how many people I mean those images actually is a great place to make sure you have those keywords yeah in Google Image Search you know people search for images on Google yeah and then it leads them perfect idea yeah try to get on as authoritative as a domain as possible and you know good content will get links if you can get it on a big site like entrepreneur you don’t really need to worry about it like people will just link into it if you’re on a dinky little site that’s your site you may have to work a little harder to get some links awesome yeah any other ideas you can think of off top your head yeah Instagram Instagram is another one you get one link on Instagram but if you can get 10,000 followers you also get the swipe up feature on Instagram stories it’s again it’s about delivering content that the platform and the people on that platform naturally like you can’t try to like go into Instagram and like put weird things that instagramers don’t like you know leverage whatever’s on that platform and try to be as native to the plot as possible and in lab you can use the biolink as the entry point to your funnel I think it’s great I know shoutouts to things you can buy there also shout outs you can trade so you can actually go out to other peoples pages who have similar type of followers it’s gonna be really hard if you have 500 followers to go to a person with 50,000 right but if you’ve got 500 followers you can reach out to someone else and do a shout out for them and they’ll do the shout out for you as well is especially if it’s in the same type of niche or industry the drill yeah absolutely and you know YouTube is a whole other channel that you can get traffic from this is very SEO driven so you’re looking to create videos with keywords that people are searching for on YouTube really you know keyword rich descriptions tags and link into your funnel LinkedIn I’ve not cracked the Lincoln code but I’ve heard that it’s like any social media platform it’s about being native to the platform and really delivering the kind of content that that platform wants and likes I love that YouTube born things we use is two modal okay where you kind of go in each and look to see what what are some of the if you find another video that’s getting a lot of traffic you can basically if yours in TubeMogul or there’s other ones that do the same type thing where it’ll literally tell you the keywords that are in there what people are searching for and then you can create a video similar to that one usually obvious something a little bit better or something like that that you get that type of stuff but that’s or even reduce we’re seeing a lot of reviews on YouTube they’re getting a lot of traffic yes yep so you know obviously Facebook we talked about we talked about doing the wall bait on your personal profile Facebook lives are still really great ways to get organic reach so you know all of this takes time but if you don’t have money like you said you probably have time you know and so those are the those are the primary ways that I built traffic you know gotten traffic organically well as always we’d love having Giuliana’s been fun having her in the office this week so I stole some of the time here to get a couple episodes in yes but if you want to get more Julie come to funnel hacking live so go to phone-hacking live.com Funnel Hacker Radio 177 – 7 Online Marketing & Sales Funnel Tips; Value Bombs From Genius Network

Funnel Hacker Radio 177 – 7 Online Marketing & Sales Funnel Tips; Value Bombs From Genius Network

Why Dave chose to share about his time at Genius Network:

Dave Woodward attended Joe Polish’s Genius Network November 2017. Here he shares the value bombs he learned in the 2 days he was there.

Tips and Tricks for Marketing and Your Business:

You can’t read the label of the jar that you’re in so you’ll need to look from an outside perspective to see what situation you’re really in (3:22)

Focus is something that you do, not something you have. You have to continually work on it to maintain it (3:46)

Jason Fladlien reinvented using testimonials, content, and getting 150 “yes’” (5:56)

Randi Zuckerberg’s balance of work and life (8:26)

Tony Robbins wants you to get obsessive with finding who you’re selling to and why they would want to buy (11:10)

Fall in love with your customer, not your product (14:13)

Buying back time (16:53)

Be 100% in charge but with no control, give the control to others. Funny concept right? (19:10)

Quotable Moments:

“As you take a look at your life try and focus on what you can get exponential returns on. You’re really trying to maximize your time”

“Too often people don’t want to put themselves out there into stressful situations. You have to get out there, you have to live on that. You have to realize there’s so much left that you’ve got to give and get uncomfortable. Get use to being uncomfortable”

“It doesn’t matter if you are a [glass] half full or a [glass] half empty kind of person. It only matters if you are going to fill the glass”

Other Tidbits of the Podcast:

Dave’s favorite one-liner from Genius Network was: “Life is easy when you live it the hard way and life is hard when you live it the easy way.” Dave is a huge enthusiast of grinding through the hard times so you can enjoy the finished product so much more as you feel the accomplished feeling coursing through you.

If you’re not throwing up once a month because of how hard of the intensity you’re pushing at then you’re not trying hard enough. Just don’t take that too literally. Randi Zuckerberg, the brain behind Facebook Lives, advised this to her audience purely as a metaphor to remind us of how much we really can do.

Tony Robbins told Dave and the rest of those at the conference that a belief is a poor substitute for an experience. How many people do you know that have an abundance of beliefs but little to no actions to go along with them? These kinds of people don’t have as sound of an understanding of what it truly is they believe as much as someone who goes out and acts on their thoughts own notions.

Audio Clips:

(12:20-12:30) “I think it’s really important as you look at 2018 here that you look at how you can become a business owner instead of a business operator.”

(17:54-18:05) “A lot of times we get focused and we get so concerned about getting everything done at the same time that you don’t get ‘Focused Energy’. And without that ‘Focused Energy’ you can’t create the very best.”

welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward everybody welcome back to funnel hacker radio I’m your host Dave Woodward and this is kind of a weird episode actually I was driving other day with my son Parker and we were talking about some of the travel and everything else has been going on he’s like man dad you gotta just share with people some of the stuff that you learn while I’m out on the road and literally like 10 15 minutes later I received a an email from Julie hood who was the podcast and was kind enough basically right in this you know tell me she appreciated the show and all that and one thing she was talking about was the same thing and that is gotcha Dave you go out you meet with so many different people and you’re traveling around want to share more of the things that you’re running into some of the people you’re here and all that kind of stuff I thought you know it would be wrong of me not to at least share with you guys some of the opportunities and the things that I learned by literally having the opportunities associated with for me well who are some of the literally the greatest markers in the entire universe so I thought you know what I was at a genius network in the beginning of November 2017 and I had the opportunity of taking a ton of notes to everything else and I thought you do it well let me just kind of flip through my journal here and let’s kind of look into my journal and see some of the things and some of the quotes and things that I wrote down and hopefully it’s gonna be of use to you as you take a look at 2018 all the crazy stuff that’s going on so first of all if you’re not familiar with genius network genius network is ran by Joe polish a dear friend of mine and the guy is just an amazing marketer he’s been around for a long time started off in the carpet cleaning business huge huge history definitely take a look at it but what he’s done right now has created this group where basically it cost you twenty five thousand dollars a year to belong to it I think it’s ten or fifteen thousand dollars to go to the two-day annually mint where they have two hundred three hundred marketing Minds from all sorts of different industries it’s one of the reasons I really kind of like it the party enjoyed the most this year actually had another good buddy of mine JP Sears was there actually became the emcee and so the banter between the two of them was hilarious it brought a ton of energy excitement to the audience was this year unlike some of the other years to me at least the value that was created inside of that room was really really amazing and I thought I need to at least share with you guys some of the things so you kind of sit there on my desk basically with me and kind of dive into here some of the things that were said as I share with you some things that I took notes on so with all that said let me just dive right into this first of all when Joe starts off genius network on his annual event one of the things he loves is goes through a ton of just one-liners and quotes and all that kind of stuff I wrote down a few my thought was kind of cool and fun so I’ll share those with you first one of the things I wrote was life is easy when you when you live it the hard way and it’s hard when you try to live it the easy way it’s a teach credos quote so again life is easy when you live it the hard way and hard when you live it the easy way and I was talking to buddy of mine about that just the other day where so often people are always trying to look for the easy way out and every time you try to look for the easy way out it life just gets hard if you’ll just put in the work and do what it takes you’re gonna find that actually life gets easier but you have to pay the price second thing is you can’t read the label of the jar that you’re in and I thought it was kind of funny that actually is a cool little picture I wish I could share with you guys but so often we don’t understand the problems that we’re really dealing with because you don’t know the jar that you’re actually in and I think it’s important you take a look at this year and you reflect back on last year what were some of the problems and things you ran across what was the label that you were really dealing with and how are you gonna fix that so you don’t have to repeat that she can get out of that jar and into a new one the last one here he’s talked about is focus is something that you do not something that you have and the reason I really like this is we spot it spent a lot of time talking about the importance of focus and you have to understand that a lot of people will focus on how to do something themselves to me that’s like linear progression it’s like step after step after step after step the other focus that’s more of an exponential type of focus especially as an entrepreneur that you really need to pay attention to is the focus on how can you do something or how basically focus on who can do something for you and this is one of the things I’ve seen recently here at click balls russell’s just been an amazing app and that is trying to find ways of getting other people to do more of the stuff that he doesn’t have to do it’s not his unique skillset it’s not his superpower so often as entrepreneurs we get started business and life and everything else we get so focused on thinking I’m the only person who can do it I’m the only person who can do it as good as I know it needs to be done realize that it typically doesn’t need to be done as good as you think it does and second of all there might be someone who’s actually even better at it than you and it’s not something that you enjoy so this year as you take a look at it don’t focus on on linear type of focus as far as how to do something yourself focus on who could you actually who can you find to do something for you and for me it’s been a huge huge relief I I get real busy during the day and one of the things I hate to have to do is worry about eating it drives my wife crazy because I just don’t care but for me one of the best things is I actually have my son Parker helped me find a cook for a Russell night and it’s the great thing with a little bring food in it’s already here I bring it in every single day and I’ve got it basically for my meals are done I don’t have to think about I have to worry about that so I can focus on other types of things so you take a look at your life look at the things that you can basically get exponential returns on you’re really trying to find a way of maximizing your time let me just dive in some of these other notes here um Jason Flavian a dear friend of mine did a we’ve done webinars with him in the past he’s come out with his change webinars one things he talked about was the importance of testimonials now obviously anybody who’s done any marketing understands how important testimonials are he took it another step further and he said the hard part for a lot of entrepreneurs is and people especially on webinars is they save their testimonials to the end well Jason actually started off with was his testimonials in the beginning and found testimonials that he actually used to overcome objections and what he’s really said is what he tries to find is his very best testimonials and tries to find a way of using those testimonials at least three times throughout a webinar and it’s not the exact same testimonial typically it’s that person but it’s three different parts of it so it may be the person who and they tell you almost this of all this the first part of the testimonials where they were and then how they got through it and then how there’s life is now and so you’re actually using that person so you’re weaving them into the story of your webinar it’s done a great job with that the other thing was the importance of content and one things you talked about was you need to present things especially in a webinar setting to people more on a road map so you say you know what you don’t want to have less than three steps and you don’t want to have more than five but by telling people okay this is the third step four the fourth step or the fifth step they’re able to chronologically pay attention to it the other thing that it does is it it sets up open loops where they know they need to get five things so as you take a look at your content the whole idea there is to make sure that you’re doing it in a way that that really ties them in engaged they’re obviously Russell’s done an amazing job on his on his perfect webinar script you don’t have that by all means go to perfect webinar comm and get it but I just want to make sure that you understand the importance of using testimonials as well as a content the other thing he’s talked about was the importance of getting 150 yeses before you sell them anything now if you followed experts secrets book you see in there all the different opportunities as far as closes that you’re setting people up to get those yeses but one of the things that Jason said I really liked and that is make sure that you get a transcription of the webinar and see how many times yes is you actually get before you have to get to that close so look to try to get 150 yeses in I thought it was a really cool idea been hard he’s a great guy if you haven’t followed Betty’s he’s actually ClickFunnels™ user he’s been crushing it on medium all I’m gonna tell you right now it’s a topic I’m probably trying to get him on on a future podcast for but again just a guy who’s killing it out there one of the things Randi Zuckerberg was there she’s Mark Zuckerberg sister and she actually was the creator of Facebook live she’s now since left Facebook and is doing her own thing but it was fascinating hearing from her some of the different things that she went through and I thought what was really kind of cool about the whole idea was you know people were asked her a bunch of different questions and one of the questions they they asked her about was work-life balance and her whole thing is that there’s no way in the world to truly have a balanced work-life it just doesn’t happen and if you think it’s going to you you set yourself up for failure and frustration everything else so her secret or her tip basically was that there’s five things that she has basically these two balance she has to balance her work her sleep her family her friends and her fitness said for me I look at it and say you know what I can only pick three of those and I’m only gonna focus on getting three of those a day and that’s it and by doing that that was her way of creating balance so maybe maybe the this for today she was gonna the three she was gonna focus on would be work family and fitness well that means she’s probably not gonna get as much sleep as she wanted she if I’m not gonna have any contact with her friends but that allowed her that opportunity of getting accomplish what she needed to and then the other thing she said is to make sure that you you identify is the juice worth the squeeze in other words if what you’re going after is it really worth it and yeah that’s something that’s internal you have to decide for yourself but it was one of the things she tried to use as a guiding post for hers is the juice worth the squeeze a couple of the other things she made mention of was some business advice and then personal advice the business advice you know someone basically so ready what’s the what business buys would you give to us as entrepreneurs and she said you’re never as good as they say you are and you’re never as bad as they say you are and it kind of got a laugh out of the audience but it is really true some people who love you they’re giving you all the praise in the world and all of a sudden you think you’re this amazing super person you’re probably not as great as as they may think you are at the same time I know in my own personal life and work life I’ve been amazed at times how mean some people can be and just realize that that you’re never as bad as they as they say you are the advice that she had personally and this was kind of a getting kind of funny advice people are saying well what’s the personal advice you’d give just as entrepreneur she goes well if you’re not throwing up at least once a month due to the stress you’re not doing enough that’s not I I usually don’t try to throw up once a month but I I got the idea behind it and that is you’ve got to often people don’t want to put themselves out and get into stressful situations you gotta you gotta get there you gotta live on that you got to be able to to realize that there’s so much you have to give and and get uncomfortable and get used to being uncomfortable Tony Robbins was there always love having Tony’s always drop in value mom’s left and right a couple things he made mention of and that was start doing a weekly company video and then share testimonials of clients one things he talked about was to go from a hundred million to a billion dollars his secret there was you had to become obsessive about the ideal customer that you want you have to know in detail exactly who that person is what do they like what do they where do they live I mean just he went through a whole list of different ideas the other thing made mention up was the fact as far as don’t fall in love with your product or your service people are not loyal to products or services and realized the product lifecycle that he’s seen these days is about four to six months the other thing he said was you need to draw a line a line in the sand and become an owner not an operator and this is one of the things we’ve really looked at I’ve looked at my own business life many times and that is there is such a huge difference between being a business owner and a business operator if you’re not familiar with what I’m referring to I’m not going to take time right now you need to research that you really need to understand there’s a massive massive difference mentally as well as the activities that you actually take on when you go from operator to owner and I think it’s really important as you take a look at 2018 here try to find out what are the things that you can do to become more of the business owner instead of the business operator the last thing Tony said which I I just love it it’s just pure toning that is said you know what a belief is a poor substitute for an experience and the man that is such great advice so often people have all these crazy beliefs and things but they never actually had the experience and he talked about his travels and being around the world in different countries and everything else and he says you know people believe all these different things about different people who live in different parts of the world he goes you don’t know what it’s like until you actually experience it until you’ve actually gone out till you’ve actually travel to that place so you’ve walked in their shoes so just realize that whatever beliefs you have a belief is a poor substitute for experience so this year in 2018 try to find some ways that you can actually get more experiences in your life I’m a huge huge believe my kids always joke around about with me because gives me nothing to me experiences me in the world and other words I all spent a ton of money on experiences that I wouldn’t spend on a gift and for me I I just realize know what I learned so much more from an experience it’s something that I treasure and I look forward to it’s one of the reasons I I get so excited every single day so I’m trying to find out what new experience can I have today versus tangible things gifts they come and go the cars come and go that all that time to get on that soap opera clock to learn anyways just realize uh police a poor substitute for experience and this year trying to find a way of getting more experiences Naveen Jane was there his whole thing was on moonshots again InfoSpace moon express by ohm billionaire running three different billion dollar companies crazy crazy guy most down-to-earth humble kind the world I didn’t know who I was talking to I felt almost embarrassed but he was just the coolest guy ever but one things he was talking about is you have to fall in love with your customer and not the product which was kind of funny because it was a couple hours after so after Tony spoken but it’s so true it again me they both made the same thing that’s fall in love with your customer not your product and if you do that you’ll find that you create the very best products you’ll create the best experiences for them you’ll be you’ll have their heart and everything in mind and you’ll do what’s right for them so again fall in love your customer not the product the other thing you said is focus on the big stuff said so are you guys how many guys are are half-full vs. half-empty type of people and you know people have all over you know different hands raising up most of everyone in the group was you know half-full egos you know what it doesn’t matter if you’re half-full or half-empty what matters is do you want to fill the glass I thought that was really cool as far as you got to focus on the big step is is it doesn’t matter what your thought process they are about the jar you’re into the glass order them mindset realize is it worth filling up and if it is man overfill it just go all in on it so I love that idea a couple other things let’s see here and was his email I’m not gonna give you the email sorry I’m Peter Diamandis and Dan Sullivan both got up and they were talking a lot of their stuff was really cool they’re talking about the importance of longevity and living longer and it was just fascinating to me to see when you start associate with people who mindsets far surpass where you currently are and the thing that’s so far out of the box it’s just blows my mind because I mean for them their whole thing is longevity how long do you how long how old do you want to be and I think Dan Sullivan was you know I don’t plan on dying in some 147 and if he I think Naveen Jane was somewhere that two hundreds and it was interesting he said you know both of them wanted to live through an entire century from as a book and basically so whatever wherever they were born on one end of the century they want to have that same experience on the other end of another century the other thing they talked about is when you start thinking that way that life isn’t a 80 year life cycle or a hundred years you start planning differently you look at your finances differently you look at people differently you look at your experiences differently and so it was just really a kind of cool concept the other thing they talked about was again gratitude creates abundance and if you haven’t already read Peter commonness the book abundance or bold highly recommended great books amazing amazing content um but the whole idea behind that was understanding how important just being appreciative is there’s emotional gratitude and then what you’ll find is as you express that type of gratitude you actually have you provide higher value economically to others as well it’s a weird thing and on but I’m just a huge believer in it you’ve got to be more appreciative and express that appreciation let people know about it too often people just don’t aren’t willing to share that kind of stuff when things dan sullivan talked about was free days and buying back time she says you know buying back time for him is the most important thing I think Dan’s in his late 70s and his whole focus right now is on on how do I buy back time in other words doing those things that gave him the greatest result and the importance then of having three days a lot of us here you know hustle hustle hustle hustle hustle it says for him the most important thing is blocking time out where he literally blocks out this is a free day where I’m not doing anything this is my time and he just totally protects it it’s a three day for him from work and everything else to do whatever in the world is that he wants instead of letting other people control your time he’s like you know what for me those are my free days no one could book any time during my freedom but me the other thing was the importance of buffer days and focused days for him he says you know there times where you have you have to have a focus day where literally no one’s allowed to interrupt you your door you don’t look at email you do anything you have got to get things done deadlines are approaching it’s time to focus it says a lot of times we get focused we get so concerned I’m trying to get everything done at the same time that you don’t get focused energy without that focus energy you can’t create the very best so for him eBay is there’s there days that are blocked out as a free day there’s other days that are blocked out as focus days where there’s no interruptions no meetings nothing else I’m doing nothing else but the project that I know I need to do but then he said the other part was the importance having a buffer day and he said a lot of times people will stack ten focus days back-to-back he goes that’s just not realistic you’ve got to be able to put a buffer day in there and that buffer day is a day where you basically say you know I I realize there’s gonna be a lot of stuff I got to get done and I can’t put everything off forever so my buffer day just gives me a cushion and what he said is it actually decreases his stress because he can push things off because he knows he’s got a buffer day coming and so I highly encourage you guys take a look at your calendars and say okay schedule right now what are gonna be my free days what are gonna be my focused days where are my buffer days gonna be and tribal to at least you know at this point at least go for a month look out a month and say okay what which ones are free days buffer days and focus days and schedule those um trying to keep this concise and short but the same time wanna get us all out to you let’s see your oh the other thing he talked about was be 100% in charge but with no control give control to others and thought wow that’s kind of crazy but what I’ve seen recently and recently literally being the last today’s Friday before Christmas started on Monday we brought James Friel in the office James is amazing at systems and operations and given to the podcast a lot long time to go with him if you wanted to go check that out but one thing his whole thing’s is creating systems and I know Russell’s gonna do a podcast on this later as far as the whole bat-signal type of stuff so I’m not gonna talk about that but I do want to express to you what has happened here living in the last two or three days is so what we’re seeing is Russell’s 100% in charge but he’s pushing control out to other people and by doing that it’s increased his creativity which seems next to impossible do but it has and it’s it’s allowed him to take off some of the gas in one area and apply it to his unique ability which is actually accelerating things even faster for us so I’d really encourage you to take a look at how can you be 100% in charge with no control and how can you give control to other people Dean Graciosa was there one of my favorite things he talked about was understand that irritated oysters make pearls and I’ll leave on this note here this whole idea behind it is you have to understand that you get so frustrated times you get gosh nothing’s working it’s not going the way I want it to go realize that those little irritations those little irritations inside of the oyster that’s what makes the pearl and for you guys I promise you those you guys are listen to this realize that the little irritations that you’re focusing on is that you’re that you’re wrapping your brain around and you’re trying to get control over that little that irritation literally becomes the Pearl that you’re gonna that’s gonna be a massive value to you so with all that said have an amazing 2018 I look forward to connecting with you guys hopefully the Funnel Hacker Radio Ep. 176 w/ Julie Stoian – Becoming The Best In The World

Funnel Hacker Radio Ep. 176 w/ Julie Stoian – Becoming The Best In The World

Why Dave Chose to Interview Julie Stoian:

Julie Stoian is the FIRST female Dream Car Winner Affiliate, she’s rocking her new minivan in style. Not only was she a Dream Car Affiliate though she is also a 2 Comma Club winner and even a member of Inner Circle. She has become the best at what she does and we’re excited for her to help you learn how you can do the same in your business.

Tips and Tricks for Your Business:

You can become the best in the world at what you do, if not the best than at least better than what you already were (1:50)

There’s importance with becoming obsessed with what you do (4:16)

The greatest in the world has mastered their craft to the extent where they are able to help others get to the same level they’re at (7:16)

When you teach others what you do, you can be learning more for yourself than you’re teaching your students (9:22)

The greatest success you can have is to mentor someone to the extent where they surpass you (10:06)

Quotable Moments:

“There’s only a limited ‘Best in the World’ slots. But I think a lot of people forget if you aim high, you’ll go a lot further than if you aim low.”

“I see this happen all the time with you, with Russell, and with all the people at ClickFunnels™ is this idea of obsession. People that become the best in the world become completely 1000% obsessed with what they are doing.”

“You see that happens when people become the best at what they do, they stop focusing on the money. They know that the money comes with the value and start to focus more on their legacy.”

Other Tidbits of the Podcast:

How much are you willing to do for your business or clients?

Julie’s dentist told her a few years back about the importance of flossing, she had been told this her whole life and had little faith she could change this habit of forgetting to floss. However, she decided to take action and finally devote the time to develop the habit. Years later her she’s still flossing and she’s learned to apply this principle in her own business.

Life has more meaning as money becomes less of a focus and your legacy takes its place.

Julie has set the goal this year of becoming one of the best funnel building teachers in the world. She loves what she does and now that her dream has finally become a valid source of income she can really start to devote all her time into it.

Audio Clips:

(2:22-2:34) “Think about 2018 and what I need to do to change in my business or in my life to become the best in the world. And it’s okay if I don’t become the best in the world because I’ll become so much better just by thinking that way.”

(7:16-7:26) “If you want to become the best in the world, one of the ways to see how good you are becoming is think ‘Can I replicate this in somebody else?’”

(9:36-9:48) “You become an expert as you teach it because you realize how many things you are missing. I learn so much more every day when I go and teach it.”

welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward hey everybody welcome back to funnel hacker radio I am so so so excited this is gonna be airing probably about the first part of January 2017 1818 holy cow and the part you’re gonna love is I’m bringing on someone who’s gonna be on a regular contributor to our podcast I am so excited to introduce you – you guys already know her but this is my formal introduction to Julie stoian Julie welcome hey hey I’m so excited fun gosh I’m so excited so if you guys don’t know Julie I mean she’s got a ton of accolades all over the world but inside of our ClickFunnels™ universe basically what happens is she is one of our first the very first female dream car winner affiliate we’re super excited about that she has a beautiful minivan we have a funnel hacker TV episode you can listener on that she’s an inner circle member she’s two comma Club member she has been just crushing it everywhere she goes she’s writing a ton of content for us coaching things so bottom line is you guys are in for just value bombs dropping left and right all over the place as we kind of go into these episodes so Julie I’m so excited to have you thank you so much oh gosh I’m so excited I can’t wait so what I want to dive into here didn’t begin in 2018 you’re kind of talking about different topics that we can explore and one of the things we were talking about how to become the very best at what you do now this is a very easy thing for you only because I’ve seen seen your backstory and know kind of what’s happened a lot of people don’t but just see you truly have become the very best at what you do so you of all people are the best people to talk about that so with that let’s dive in well thank you I feel like sometimes when you talk about how to become the best in the world people are like ah well I just never mind that like I’ll never be the best in the world right there’s a very limited number of best in the world slots but I think the part that people forget is that when you aim high you go further than if you aim low right so it’s like you make these crazy go and it’s okay you can’t quite meet them because you’ll definitely always go further than if you had made a goal that was just kind of mediocre so why not think about 2018 and think like alright what are the things that I have to change in my business or in my mindset or my life to become the best in the world and it’s okay if I don’t become the best in the world because I’ll just become so much better just by thinking that way I love you know any ideas so you know shoot for the moon and you land in the stars I’m okay yeah and you know in order to be okay with that you have to be okay with failure and being imperfect because people who are perfectionist so be a failure they don’t like doing this exercise because they don’t want to set a goal as they can meet it and part of this is just like seeing how how far you can push yourself you know even if you don’t make it so I just thought it would be super fun when I joined the inner circle I just realized I was all of a sudden surrounded by the best in the world and so I started asking them like why like how do you become the best in the world and so I’m really curious like to hear what our audience thinks like what is the characteristic of someone who’s the best in the world and like what do you think like what do you think it takes to become the best in the world now I’ll tell you what I think for me I think that again a lot of it comes down to just setting high goals that motivate you I think too often people set those goals that are you know I’m gonna make it anyways but I’ll set it just so I can check it off the list yeah so for me I think to become the best you really have to have a huge dream a huge vision this grandiose idea that it literally pulls you out of bed in the morning and without that you’re never gonna get to the level of success that you really want and or that you deep down inside hope that might you might be able to do and I think too often people they just again kind of goes back to the whole ideas you know either Tony Robbins Bill Gates said years ago and that is you know people basically think they’re gonna get much more done in a year than they ever possibly can but underestimate how much they can get done in you know five or ten years I’m sure totally slaughtered the the quote but that’s the idea that yeah you really can do you know it’s funny and I see this happening all the time with you with Russell with all the people in ClickFunnels™ is his idea of obsession that the people who become the best in the world become absolutely completely 1,000 obsessed with whatever it is they’re doing there’s like you know it’s pretty trendy to be balanced right now and I’m not saying that you know self-care is not important but like the people who are the best in the world don’t usually show it kind of balance they show just like they’re just like their whole world is consumed by it and I’m not saying you know you shouldn’t have balance but but there is a level of like how deep are you gonna go on your topic like how committed are you to really understanding your customer and understanding you know what your the people that you serve to really be able to serve them at the highest level you know what I mean like Russell is a parent example he’s obsessed with marketing absolutely you know I think I’ve seen that same thing with you though one of the things I’ve seen you become very obsessive with is you are obsessive with time I yeah I know one I’ve never known anybody who gets more done when you’re given a deadline than you it’s like I remember when you were putting together the marketing secrets book that you again this is a we’re letting the secret out of the back you’re Russell sorry about that but coming Julie’s been involved in it I’ll leave it at that but again we’re thinking oh yeah we’ll get that done by the end of the year time thing and you had it done within like two weeks of like what you kidding me how can they out yeah I mean it’s like it’s a level of like ruthless discipline that you it but it only comes with practice like it’s like it’s about repetition too and sometimes I think you know we we think oh we learned something or we learned how to do time management or we learned funnels or whatever and so then we don’t have to repeat it and it’s like don’t like the best athletes in the world do the same thing for like six hours a day every single day you know they’re like never they just never stop repeating and like that very act of repetition so for me it’s like if I want to make a new habit in my life like flossing my teeth I remember I went to the dentist one year they’re like you need to floss your teeth and I was like I can’t you know and I knew that if I was like ruthlessly disciplined for like 60 to 90 days that it would become a habit but then you keep having to like revisit that habit and it’s the same way with time with marketing with with it whatever whatever you do like you can’t stop practicing you know naveen oh I told I think is I’m here talking about this two things you’ve mentioned I’m huge fan of and one is obsession you have to become obsessed about it to where you literally just feel like I have to do this there’s nothing else I no matter what it happens my life this has to get done and the other thing there is the importance of repetition too often people think I’ve done that check it off the list it’s done but actually those skills you got to go over and over and over it over again it’s crazy I appreciate you mentioning that and I think one of the things if you want to become the best in the world at what you do one of the ways to see how good you’re becoming is to see can you replicate it in somebody else and I see this idea it’s like okay you become really good Russell becomes really good at funnels and he could do it really well but now can he can he help somebody else do it can he help someone else replicate the process because what happens is when you get into that mode of teaching it and really like working with somebody else you start to see all the little things that your brain is just doing naturally and you start to really like see the process at a more like organic level like micro level and it helps you to understand it better and he said the same thing when he was writing them well podcast it was some podcast cuz I’ve listened to them all during the experts secrets book that he had to by writing the book it really forced him to like get down to the nitty gritty of what he does and then once you see those like little tiny micro steps that you do for a big step then you can perfect them and then you just get like and then you just get exponentially better I love that I think that’s what’s why so many people go into coaching as well as teaching is because that as you mentioned that’s really where you become the best yeah you should always fresh-made frustrate me when I hear people say well those who can do and those who can’t teach and I thought you know what sure maybe whatever in some places but I can tell you for the people I’ve been surrounded with the very very best are those who can simplify something in such an easy teachable manner that anybody can do it you’ve done an amazing job of that with you with your audience and just the way that you’ve been able to systemize and duplicate yourself in so many different areas to where you can actually almost leave one business and go to another because you’ve got things so automated because you’ve literally taught everyone every single step to where and a lot of people afraid that well if I do that I’m gonna have I’m gonna jeopardize my job I know there’s no other place for me I mean that scarcity mindset as far as yeah really getting good at that it’s just I think what holds a lot of people back and you know I think there’s also this like this kind of negative vibe of like well you can’t be a teacher until you’re like a true expert because there’s a lot of people that try to like fake it but I think one of the things you know we and all of us do it to some extent but but the idea is like you become an expert as you teach it because you realize how many things you’re missing like there’s I learned so much more about the processes that I do every day when I go to teach it because then I see where the gaps are where I didn’t you know what I mean and I start to understand it at a different level so it’s not about lying and like being like oh I’m an expert when I’m not but but this act of teaching and mentorship is something that that doesn’t just sharpen the person you’re helping it sharpens you to that very act of teaching so it’s about just being honest where you are but not being afraid to dive into that and I think that’s part of experts secrets is like he’s like you have to be one step ahead of somebody else he’s not saying to lie about it he’s just saying to position yourself like you’re ready to teach if you can teach somebody something that you know that they don’t know and it will help you to you know I love that so the first three things you talked about as far as we gotta become the best first thing basically was total obsession second thing there is repetition and the third thing is becoming a teacher I really like to actually the other term you just use and that’s more than mentor and I think as you become a mentor it’s you have there unlike teaching where you’re just trying to distribute information or dispersed information as a mentor you’re actually concerned about the person you’re trying to bring up to them absolutely and so I I love the idea as far as that that analogy of being a mentor to whoever you’re bringing on whether it’s people you’re you are teaching but you’re really truly mentoring them to become the very best that they can be which in turn makes you the best that you can be and you know ultimately like the greatest success of a leader is to be able to create people who can then take what they’ve taught them and even go further like I know that Russell has turned his gaze away from like just how much money I can make to like what kind of legacy I can leave and you see that happen to people who become the best at what they do is they they they stop concerning themselves with money because they know that the money comes with the value and they start to look at what kind of legacy so like it becomes almost a joy if Russell can watch people become more successful than even he is because that’s evidence that he’s really like done his mission really well and and when you start to make that shift life gets so much more fun so much more exciting so much more meaningful and the scarcity mindset disappears and then people flock to you because you’re really invested in their success and that’s the whole that little purpose right oh I totally in fact I was joking around alex mandossian while back who was one of Russell’s second or third mentor basically when he was especially learning Telus Emmet’s all that kind of stuff and Alex came out and he was actually out here boys a while back and say it is so weird for me to think that one of my students has so far surpassed me well I am now becoming a student of him and I thought that it was just such it was a tribute to Alex for me to recognize that and not being oh my gosh I can’t learn from him there’s no credit to Russell saying how important it is going back to that obsession and just repeating things over and over again so I love that idea yeah it’s just about standing on on the shoulders of the people who’ve helped you and that’s like that’s a great legacy and I think that’s the lap that would be the fourth thing I would say besides obsession and mentorship and repetition is becoming the best in the world means it’s not just about you you’re thinking about your legacy and about the impact that happens after you’re done with what you’re doing I love it so we’re getting close to wrapping things up here tell me what are some of the things you’re hoping to accomplish in 2018 to become the very best that you could be at oh my gosh I mean I put you on the spot I know you totally put me on the spot I mean part of the reason why I’m now a ClickFunnels™ is because I want to be with the best in the world period do you know what I mean and I think I love one of the things that I’m enjoying so much as I love teaching and writing these are things these are gifts and you know in the past couple years building my business I’ve had to do all kinds of other things that aren’t writing and teaching you know to keep my business afloat and now I get to really dive deep into into that art form that I just loved and so I’m really looking forward to becoming one of the best funnel building teachers in the world period that’s my goal and to be an amazing writer and just turn out massively awesome content that Russell just spews inbox or messages like tell the world you know so that’s really my big my big plan for 2018 and we all drop the mic on that one Julie congratulations I’m super excited to be a part of that working with you is so much fun for those you guys again as you’re looking at 2018 one of the things you’ve heard Julie mention is Russell’s books and things I highly recommend you guys go out start with expert secrets go to experts secrets calm it’s a free plus shipping offer if nothing else final Hackett we’re just actually today going through changing it so it’s gonna be new here by the time you listen to this but more importantly make sure you consume the content and really become obsessive about becoming that expert repeat whatever it is you’ve got to do to continue to become obsessive repetition over over over over again become that mentor and then most importantly build the legacy once again Julie thank you so much so Funnel Hacker Radio Ep. 175 w/ Ezra Firestone – Secrets to Scaling 8 Million Dollar E-Comm Business

On this episode of Funnel Hacker Radio, Dave interviews Ezra Firestone. Ezra Firestone reveals his secrets to scaling e-commerce businesses. He has been doing this for
over 12 years. He reveals what multiple you need to be at to be profitable. How to pick an industry and dive deep into a profitable niche. Most importantly he tells you step by step what you need to do to scale your business from startup to 6, 7 and even 8 figures.

He consults on multi-million- dollar e-comm acquisitions and reveals his digital marketing and e-commerce secrets in this episode.

Tips and Tricks for Your Business:

Ezra Firestone is a firm believer in focusing on your product’s multiple as opposed to its initial price point. (2:47)

We’re going to take a brief break from the value bombs of selling multiples to let you in on how Ezra got his business up to 8 figures (5:41)

Premium products is someplace that Ezra feels the most comfortable spending his time and resources (16:27)

Ezra knows that his business model is not the best one in the world, but it works for him the way that he wants it (21:15)

Sales Process, you’ve got to understand sales process if you’d like to improve the use of your ad spending (26:53)

Ezra’s last tip he wants to share with us is the importance of video marketing (28:15)

Quotable Moments:
“I lean now towards mass market. I want to be able to say this product is relative to anyone of
this gender in this age range. That’s my ideal, right, and then you niche down from there.”
“What I’m trying to do is plant seeds, water those seeds every month for four months, and
grow a mango tree that feeds my family for generations. I don’t want to just go out and spear a
bunch of fish one day.”
“More things have failed than worked”
Other Tidbits of the Podcast:
Ezra’s business may have a yearly revenue in the millions, but his heater breaks for unknown
reasons at the most inconvenient times just like the rest of us.
Ezra learned that losing money on the short run for marketing is what catapults your business
forward in the long run.

If you can sell 30 $5 ticket items that’s great, BUT Ezra wants you to think of how you’re going to pay for more ads to get other people to buy it. Will those same people come back to buy again? Not likely.
With transparency, your company can get the jump on this competition.
Ezra comes forth with his and Russel’s secret Ju-Jitsu vs. Wrestler square off they had in the
kitchen at Pirates Cove. We are potentially going to be presented with a round 2 on Funnel Hacker TV down the road. Prepare yourselves for a showdown that’ll rock the internet harder
than the release of “What Does the Fox Say” on YouTube.
Audio Clips:
(9:05-9:17) “I was like ‘Wow these companies look at marketing completely different than I look
at marketing’, and maybe that’s the reason that they are growing and I’m not. And this one difference in how I looked at my business allowed me to go to $7 million in $20 million in one
year”
(20:52-21:07) “I lean toward mass market, and I don’t think that’s for everyone. I think you can
totally lean in towards impulse buy, you can lean in towards niche specific. But Dave, I’m trying
to build multi-million dollar companies”

welcome to funnel hacker radio podcast where we go behind the scenes and uncover the tactics and strategies top entrepreneurs are using to make more sales dominate their markets and how you can get those same results here is your host Dave Woodward I’m your host Dave Woodward today you guys are in for a massive massive treat I have some dude who’s up in the middle of New York basically freezing his butt off has no idea why his heaters not working couldn’t get his computer started this morning to get Skype up and running but this guy is crushing it he is the master the genius that one-and-only ezra firestone welcome but ladies and gentlemen Wow a heck of an introduction all true all true tech failures I’m frozen over here I’m wearing a I’m wearing what’s known as a poncho as you can see it this is probably a video but that’s a legit poncho which is actually basically like you shear a sheep and then you just put it on your back it’s basically what right so I’m like wearing a sheep I’m cold I got my wife’s hat on it’s a rough morning Dave Woodward but I’m here because you know I have a lot of respect and admiration for what you guys are doing and you know obviously we’ve had a chance to hang out at Pirates Cove and some other times you know I just really like you guys what you’re up to and decided to be on your show everyone I can’t imagine you don’t know who is but my gosh this he is dear friend of mine personally an obviously of our ClickFunnels™ she’s crushing it on Shopify and he’s got his own products far as if I over there smart marker calm is his primary site definitely definitely follow him there he’s got an old pot cut mean if you want to know anything about e-commerce answer is the man the myth the legend I’m so privileged to have your show I’ve been trying to get you on forever we ran into each other Brian Moran said it last week it was like dude let’s just get our phones this counter this thing I mean it took us meeting in person and literally pulling out our calendars and saying like let the to because we were trying to schedule it with the teams it was like no let’s just do this together as men all right we’re gonna come together as men and we’re gonna schedule an appointment and it was a big deal for us actually it was like the first appointment that I’ve scheduled in a while for myself and I was I was proud of it actually well offline we were starting to talk about it so I wanted to stop her conversation cuz I mean any time you’re with her he’s dropping value bombs all day long and we started I’m like well I want to capture all this so uh real quick just understand I mean as we did about 30 million last year but one of the great things he’s doing is the whole idea as far as e-commerce and this is things we get talked about all the time I really want to dive into this with you guys right now what’s the right price point of products to sell how do you know when you’re in the right market and you start totaling like crazy so I’m just gonna just dive in where we work you ever talk as far as premium products and niches and genders and all that stuff for sure my viewpoint is that it’s less about price point and more about multiple and when I see people who try to run businesses like we run Dave which is what we’re up to we’re not these big guys with 300 million in VC funding you know we’re not these people we’re scrappy do-it-yourself entrepreneurs who are out there in the trenches running our businesses and attempting to be profitable and we are using in my in my on my side and on your side paid amplification paid amplification as as the means to fuel the business as sort of the energy that drives everything and so if you subscribe to this notion that like your business is going to be really built on the backbone of paid visibility meaning you’re going out to Facebook and you’re going out to YouTube and you’re going out to the Google Display Network um you’re going out to Pinterest and Instagram and you’re saying I want to pay to get my messaging in front of this group of people that I think I can sell a product to right so like that is like baseline what I do in business at the most fundamental level so if you’re approaching business that way which and then obviously look there story-based content there’s all this other stuff but like and we’ll get to that but it really starts with the willingness to go out there and buy visibility for your offer so if you’re doing that where most people fail is they mess up the multiple so my viewpoint is that the absolute absolute minimum and it gets you get more space as you get more towards a premium product level as I’ll explain but the absolute minimum multiple you can have is by for one and sell for three and ideally you’re buying for one and selling for four or five so here’s what that means if I buy a makeup stick for six dollars the minimum I can sell it for is 18 if I want to be profitable and ideally I’m selling it for 24 or 30 right ideally I have a buy for one ie buy for six and sell for four which is buy for six sell for 24 right now that sort of brings me to my my conversation of premium right because you look at me and I’m selling $28 cosmetic sticks okay that’s my base line front end product but my average order value is not $27 it’s 80 so how am i doing that right I’m bundling them together and pushing people towards a bundle and if you look at the bundle now look at this multiple you buy three of them 476 those three cost me let’s say 30 so I’m now under a three multiple but because I’m at a higher price point the multiple can be lower because on that seventy six I still have forty six dollars in profit which means I can go out there and spend forty six dollars to acquire a sale and the cool thing about this and we’re gonna go we’re gonna dive further into these numbers so people understand is if you’re able to do that after six months you have what’s called a repeat business so now you can go out and spend $65 even though you’re only making $45 because you have a bunch of repeat business fuelling your your your ads if that makes sense so real quick tangent to how I got to eight figures and then we’ll go back to this numbers game and what I was talking to you about gender and market and niche and things like that quick tangent that sort of expounds on this idea of repeat business being a very important thing when it comes to direct response ecommerce and how that allows you to actually go out and potentially buy sales at a loss but still be profitable and grow your business and people are thinking oh well Ezra I don’t wanna I don’t want to go out there and buy sales at self-liquidating or breakeven or even at a loss but let me let me explain to you what happened to me which is my direct response ecommerce business which is a direct-to-consumer physical product cosmetic business that I am using paid amplification as the sole means to promote I’m not on Amazon I’m not in retail stores I don’t have joint venture partners I’m not using influencers I’m straight-up using Facebook and Google and I’m doing 20 million in that one brand and I’m doing 30 million overall across other businesses as well so what I was stuck at around 7 million dollars a year and look we all say what you want about lifestyle / / business and whether you’re working too much whatever you want to say about that and I have very strong viewpoints on that is at the end of the day you’re in this game to grow your business you want to grow your business right or you wouldn’t be listening to funnel hacker radio so I was stuck at this plateau of 7 million a year for a couple years and I could not figure out why I couldn’t get past it and one of the things that I’m known for I’m like I got this name called the growth guy in these private equity and venture capital firms because right now people with billions of dollars they’re investing that money into online commerce businesses businesses that are built on ClickFunnels™ businesses that are built on Amazon businesses that are built on Shopify that’s where big money is going because these people with real money see that this is the future right so they’re looking to buy companies and these funds these venture capital private equity funds who might have 700 million in a fund or a billion in a fund where they’re doing investment they’re purchasing companies with the hopes of growing them and flipping them or purchasing companies with the hopes of rolling them all up and reselling them right so when they’re vetting deals they will come to me and say here’s a 50 million or 100 million or 300 million or even billion I’ve done a billion dollar one company that is predominantly direct-to-consumer online based will you vet the analytics vet the ad campaigns look at the lifecycle customer marketing and tell us number one would you buy this thing and number two how would you grow it so I’m essentially doing these growth plans for these multi hundred million dollar companies and what’s fascinating about that Dave is as a person who’s owned like I at this time when when this started a couple years ago I was only ever a multi-million dollar ecommerce business owner but I’m real scrappy and I’m real good at data analysis and you know I came from nothing bootstrapped I was grew up poor you know what I mean I grew up like whatnot I came from you know just like anyone else like like I didn’t even realize another conversation of going from being like identifying as poor to now being one of the richer people that I know and that’s been an interesting transition of you know you think rich people are bad but you don’t even know you do think that it’s a prejudice that you have that you don’t know you have until you become rich whole thing we could talk about that but back to this this conversation is I’d never grown a multi-hundred even an eight-figure retail now I have an eight-figure retailer but hadn’t before and looking at their data I noticed something across all of them I didn’t maybe 13 of these audio audits over two years and I’m still doing them now which is kind of it’s fun but I noticed I was like wow like these companies look at marketing completely different than the way I look at marketing and maybe that’s why I can’t grow and they are growing and so here’s was the difference of how they looked at it and this one difference in how I looked at my business is what allowed me to go from 7 million to 20 million in one year boom as soon as I changed my viewpoint on this it was literally one fundamental shift in how I was looking at the numbers that allowed me to triple the business in a year and now continue to grow so here’s what it was the way that I looked at businesses was I was a I got no cash I’m living off my wife’s yoga earnings Disney I’m no joke this needs to work I need I need to be profitable like I can’t mess around she’s gonna be upset if I go bankrupt on us you know I gotta go get another job like you know I’m 22 this ain’t working you know I’m not 22 now but so the way I looked at it was if an ad campaign is running and it’s not profitable you turn that thing off immediately right you look at Google AdWords and you got six keywords in there this is old school and two of those keywords don’t work turn them off you’re running Facebook it’s not profitable turn it off now here’s what I noticed about all these retailers is they all had one channel that I call the subsidy channel that was subsidizing the rest of their marketing so it was either email or organic traffic or Google Adwords those were the top three it was either email organic traffic or Google Adwords and then Facebook would be at the fourth one or maybe Amazon it was one of those channels it was one of those five channels where that one channel of visibility was uber profitable just crushing right and as you go in business year-over-year and this is the what I call the halo effect people don’t understand this this is why smart marketers growing Zipporah is growing boom is grunts I have this halo effect of I’ve been in business three years I have all these past customers who are repeating who are coming back organically who are coming back through emails that gives me a baseline of profit that I can spend on amplification to grow my business if that makes sense so what they were doing was they take their email revenue and then they go out to Facebook they go out to Pinterest they go out to Instagram they go out to YouTube and they lose major money buying customers right they lose money on all these other channels but all these channels are being subsidized by one profitable channel they’re out there losing money but they’re acquiring customers and then come the holiday time or come their next sale they have a much bigger pool of people to run that sale event to and they end up making way more money during that sale event because they have such a bigger pool because they were out there growing that pool over time even at a loss and man up with a much bigger company so they take a longer trajectory they’re like listen we’ve got one channel that makes a hundred grand a month in profit let’s spend ninety five thousand dollars that hundred grand a month in acquiring customers at whatever cost as smartly as we can as effectively as we can you know some of them will be breakeven some will be at a loss but let’s go out there and use that money that we have baseline to grow because just growing the operation over time grows the operation if that makes sense it’s not you with me I went from seven to eight figures is changing my viewpoint on that instead of turning off ad campaigns that didn’t perform I looked at my ones that my organic traffic my email traffic in the ad campaigns that were performing as a subsidy to support the growth on channels that weren’t performing which allowed me the freedom and flexibility to figure out how to get those channels to perform that’s the thing that you don’t understand is that most people understand is that like you need some level of resource to figure out how to get a channel to work and if you’re not investing in it you’re never gonna figure it out and so it all kind of works together and this is why businesses that I’ve been around three or four years have such a such a like sort of market preference like they have a what’s the word advantage over businesses that have been around because they have some form of Halo that they can invest in direct amplification and the big issue with business owners Dave that I see in our industry is they pull all their money out of their business they don’t reinvest in the snowball they’re afraid to lose money on paid amplification because they think they’re losing money they don’t understand that they’re actually investing in the growth of the snowball that 18 months from now is gonna be a giant snowball right so it’s it’s a fundamental shift in how you look at growing your company from a paid amplification perspective and if you have one channel and a lot of people in my industry have Amazon that’s real profitable for them and I advocate for using that profit to go out and buy sales via direct response even if you’re losing money because overall you’re going to grow the calm and it’s kind of just a different way of looking at it and ultimately now we’re way more profitable than we ever were and we’re way bigger but it’s because we changed our viewpoint on how we look at ads and numbers I think that’s the part you know most lumps when we first got started with leuh used to pay the bills and it was man I’ve got a lifestyle here I’m second all the cash out of it and you’re like I get it you’re sitting there freezing I think you know you got to build your business for winter and that is your a situation where things aren’t always gonna be as great as they are right now but if everything cycles and I think especially in the econ platform if you can be taken that and really investing and I think what I loved about what you’re saying their answer is learn use that to learn these other platforms because every single platform is so totally unique and different I think it’s just I love the term as far as paid amplification that’s super super like and you guys do that really well at ClickFunnels™ I mean I see your videos all the time on every channel you know you’re on you’re on Instagram you’re on Instagram stories you’re on YouTube you’re on Facebook I mean you guys really get paid amplification of story-based content that engages the consumer over time that when you have a sales cycle like you got a new book coming out or you got a new whatever coming out like all these people that are in your community have been seeing you over the course of the last couple months because you’re adding value through content which is my second strategy which is once you have a community you take 10 percent or 20 percent of your total ad budget and you invest it in literally just amplifying value add content to that community and we started doing this we started seeing our sale campaigns that we run every month and a half go up by about 500 percent because all these people were now engaged with us on a weekly basis seeing content that was just value add content not designed to sell anything that when we did decide to sell something worked way better because they were engaged with us now back to the back to the how to pick a market and what kind of multiple you need so I think again I my preference is towards mass-market products meaning I want to be able to pick an age range I literally if you look at boom which is 20 million I’m like women over 50 in America that’s literally that is like by the way who I also advertise to I don’t put any targeting on there I’m literally running my ads I’m spending 20 grand a day on Facebook to an audience called women over 50 that’s it because Facebook is now pretty smart and you don’t need necessarily to put targeting’s in there if you have a mask the audience now that’s not relevant for most people so so you can ignore that piece of advice but I lean now towards mass market and I want to be able to say this product offer is literally relevant towards anyone who is this gender in this age range that’s my ideal right and then you niche down from there all right I want men who are 25 to 35 who are outdoorsmen right who are interested in hunting hiking fishing whatever okay great like you can niche down from there but I prefer as mass-market as possible at this stage of the game now granted I’ve been doing this for 12 years so that is like why I’m willing to go that wide because when you go that wide you really need a compelling offer a compelling product a compelling story you have to really understand marketing or you can’t go that wide right oh you can only go that wide if you really are confident in your ability to engage that audience in a story that relates to a problem they’re having in their life and then your product is a solution to that problem so I tend towards that and I also tend towards premium because you’ll notice my average order value is 80 I’ve got about a three multiple on that and I can do that at a premium level whereas if I’m selling a twenty five or thirty five dollar product I need a five or six multiple to make the ads work does that make sense so minimum multiple is three minimum you’ve got to be buying for one and selling for three buying for ten someone for thirty and a minimum if you want this to work and you’re gonna have a much better chance of making direct response ecommerce work if you can get your average order value up over $50 meaning I actually what I was telling you before look at premium as 85 and above I think that’s where you hit premium for me and my my eyes of it but people would argue with me on this so I always try to lean towards a premium level product which is 85 and above because at the end of the day if you’re going out there you’re paying for visibility you’re engaging someone with a video that starts telling them a story that then you know relates to a problem they’re having that alludes to a solution which is your product like you might as well try to sell them an expensive product rather than a cheap product but a lot of people are doing dropship a lot of people are doing 25 $35 widgets $15 credit card knives whatever if you’re doing those those lower ticket items which is great impulse buys are great you know impulse buys the other beautiful thing one thing we need to talk about with e-commerce is the more expensive the longer the sales cycle explain that so if you have a product that’s 30 bucks or 15 bucks for 20 bucks you can literally go video and I’ll give you a perfect example of this problem solution video meaning there’s a video of a guy sitting in his car a gal sitting in her car and she drops her phone between the seat and she can’t reach it and it’s stuck and then boom transition that’s the before after in the same video 30-second video on facebook person drops their phone but now there’s a leather sleeve in between the seat and they reach down and they pull it out it’s might even be one of your guys products now they’re that little little leather sleeve that problem/solution video that says this individual this problem that you have that you can identify with you can identify with this pain point we’re showing you and here’s a solution to it that links directly to a landing page long form click funnel style landing page with a video on it and whatnot product imagery some sales copy headlines sub headlines whatever you want with an upsell or order bump or cart bump whatever you guys do but that model that’s a short sales cycle right that’s like problem/solution video to sales page that works for impulse buy products that works for lower price products the more expensive your product the longer you have to hold someone in a sales cycle because the more trust it takes to get someone to buy something for ninety bucks which means longer video on facebook my top-line awareness videos are like seven minutes long they’re not a minute long right more steps like perhaps an article that you know pre sell engagement article or advertorial that then leads to the sales page more retargeting like retargeting people who watch the video and didn’t click to the article retargeting people who click to the article but not the product page retargeting people who made to the product page but not the cart so your sales cycle is much longer for a premium level product but I still advocate and lean in that direction because it’s a lot easier to make the numbers work when you have premium level and you got enough profit to really go out there and advertise so if you’re selling a thirty dollar average order value product boy I don’t want to be buying that product for more than five or six dollars in order I need I’m gonna need that twenty six to spend on ads it’s hard to get a credit card submit for under 20 bucks legit in this day and age you’re trying to get a credit card submit you’re trying to get someone to pull out their thing pull their credit card out and submit it and boy if you can do that for under twenty bucks these days you got a real hot product you solve on a real nice problem and it’s an impulse buy that’s that’s gonna make up who’s gonna do now if you’re not if you don’t have that if you don’t have the superhot product than the impulse buying a low price point it’s gonna cost you more now and now when I first got in the game I was getting credit card submits for six dollars right but that was a long time ago now so my point being I I lean towards a premium product I lean towards a minimum of the five multiple if I’m going into a market Dave and I’m saying I’m gonna run direct response front and e-commerce on this which I’m building a new business right now another cosmetics business geared towards a younger demographic rather than the older demographic I want my I want to find multiple I want to buy my stick for seven and sell it for 35 you know what I mean just to give me the space the freedom the flexibility the ease to figure it out and I’m gonna try to bundle those I’m gonna try to get people to buy three at a time and all that kind of thing so I’m gonna be working on my average order value upsell cross-sell order bumps all that to give me that that multiple so I lean towards premium I lean towards a buy for oneself for five I lean towards mass-market I don’t think that’s for everyone I think you could totally lean in towards impulse buy you could lean in towards niche specific but like Dave I’m trying to build multi hundred million dollar companies I’m trying to build multi hundred million dollar direct-to-consumer physical product companies that are grown on the backbone of paid amplification which look for me the reason I’m doing that is because it’s I’m not not gonna come out and say that this is a better business model than someone else’s idea of what a good business model is I’m not prepared to say that but what I am prepared to say is that for who I am in the world and what I enjoy doing and the lifestyle that I want I have 70 employees they’re all virtual my businesses are pretty straightforward it’s like advertising content and then customer support you know it’s like it’s a simple model it’s easy to systematize it’s scalable infinitely scalable if you hit the right sort of if you if you hit the right point of content to market match where it really resonates with someone’s pain point and the product offering is good you have a real product that adds value I mean I just find the model now granted I’m 100% biased because I’ve been in directive consumer physical products for my whole entire adult life since I was 18 and like this is all I know and what I’ve done but boy I haven’t found a model that I like better and I have to tell you as someone who just like you sells information I sell courses on how I do this and I have an event once a year on how to do this have a mastermind four very successful sellers and I have software-as-a-service businesses right so I have other businesses that aren’t as big they are harder to run more work and I still love them and I would never give them up and I’m really enjoying them but they’re not as easy to scale and systematize as direct-to-consumer physical products and they’re also not based on my personality like like sorry director consumer physical products isn’t based on Azra Firestone whereas that other businesses kind of are really relying on me as a public figure and I really like the idea of a brand that’s not built on the backbone of a public figure even though one of my main e-commerce brands has a public figure at the helm I’m not saying don’t have people who endorse your brand influencers and things like that but that’s why I lean those directions fantastic I think the coolest thing is you’re just such a total magician at this kind of stuff that you just talk only because it’s it’s really part of your DNA I mean you’ve been doing this for so long but I think the cool thing is you’ve paid the price and I think that’s part people don’t understand this you got to go out there you got to get your nose bloody you got to be able to to go out and to many company more failure is a short term thing and it’s a it’s a long term game I love the fact you’re building a hundred multiple hundred million dollar companies that’s I’ve done it yet but I’m working on it right one of my companies right now is probably valued at around 50 million one of my other companies probably valued around 10 so I haven’t really reached the nine figure mark yet but I do agree with you that I think that a lot of people are short-sighted and they don’t understand that this is a marathon and not a sprint and you and I haven’t been in the industry as long as we have I’ve seen a lot of people fall off a lot and by the way one of the things I really respect and love about you guys is that you have been around like Russell was doing micro continuity in oh seven or something you know any man like I remember potato guns I remember him from then you know like I was around back then and he and I have seen a lot of people fall off and what happens is people are burning the candle at both ends they’re not paying attention to cash flow they are short-sighted and are just trying to make cash or not trying to build something consistently and scalable over time and like what I’m trying to do is plant seeds water those seeds every month for four years grow a mango tree that then feeds my family for generations I don’t want to just go out and spear a bunch of fish one day right look I really want a sustainable consistent ongoing business and I do I do think that like you’re gonna have failures like I’ve had more things have failed than abort for sure 100% I’ve nearly bankrupted myself a couple times you’re gonna you know I’ve been short on taxes when I needed taxes at the end of the year because I mismanaged cash flow like I’ve had all those experiences and that’s par for the course as you learn how to deal with money as you learn how to manage big sums of money as you learn how to you know it’s like you’re gonna you’re gonna have these setbacks but you can get smarter you cannot find yourself without having paid your quarterly estimates in 2011 you should have you know like or whatever you know some while back now for me but like this is where people you know they run into issues they’re not looking at their numbers they’re not looking at the cash flow they are not paying their taxes on a regular basis they’re you know yeah I hear you there’s going to be some failures everything that you do because you’re such an advocate of just diving in and just immersing yourself in it you just use your phone yeah do it yourself get in there figure out the product you’re gonna retail figure out its unique selling propositions get into ClickFunnels™ build out that page yourself have someone help you do a video for it have only someone help you do a video ad learn Facebook advertising from guys like you guys Russell you don’t click funnels me get in there and you know like it’s hard to delegate an outsource and scale something that you don’t intuitively really understand yourself like now I’m at a point where I can have a whole team running this process but like if I hadn’t done it all I wouldn’t be able to do that I wouldn’t really know what was working I wouldn’t know what to look at so I’m a big fan of the do-it-yourself entrepreneur I’m a big fan of like really getting like I think if there’s one place to get nitty-gritty its marketing process because marketing process you know someone else can get nitty-gritty on product someone else can get nitty-gritty on support someone else can get nitty-gritty on you know finance and bookkeeping but like boy if you pick one area to put your attention like I’m a big fan of it being marketing process because it’s like it’s it it is the thing that drives everything else I we joke around about that all the time you’re at the office it’s the one thing you you don’t want to outsource your lovemaking and I think that’s the key here is it’s what matters sorry for the visual there but a good way now I hear ya but drives your business it’s what grows you can outsource you can’t outsource marketing yeah that’s the one thing always tell people man get get good if you go to anything get good at that you can ask together know how to do it but you got no marketing yeah and I think one of the cool things about your community is that like what you guys really understand is sales process and like you get people who understand ads but don’t understand sales process and their hosts it’s better to understand sales process than ads because when you’re getting started you can outsource ads to an agency and see what they’re doing and learn it and you can go through some courses but like you can’t outsource sales process really I mean it’s hard to do that well to outsource sales process well and I think that’s one of the beautiful things that your tool offers ClickFunnels™ is and granted I’ve never used click funnels or been in there really I don’t know much about it but like dude you guys are the most famous sales funnel builder in the world at least in my world I mean I’m paying attention to the internet marketing world and the e-commerce world you’re definitely the most famous and like the people that I talked to who are click funnels users understand concepts that like multi hundred million dollar ecommerce retails that I talk to don’t understand and I’m like whoa you know that’s that’s kind of mind-blowing really you know that like you get these multi hundred million dollar retailers who don’t understand things like order bumps upsells bundles cross-sells long-form sales pages conversion rate best practices sales video structure I mean the stuff like it actually is it’s I think it’s one of the reasons why you guys are successful as you are because it’s like boy that stuff is is more important than almost anything else well thank you thank you very much well as we get close to wrapping things up here any other things you want to cover before we wrap it up um I think if you’re looking at 2018 the place to put your attention is video marketing video will drive and people know this already but I’m just gonna reiterate it that video will drive 80 percent of consumer based content consumption in by 2019 which means people who are gonna purchase products are watching videos about those products and about what those products mean in the world and I also think that if you’re gonna be retailing to anyone who is Gen Y or down let’s say anyone who’s 40 or under one of the things that you need to know that that market cares about is manufacturing process so one of the things that the Millennials have really brought yeah Millennials have really brought this into the limelight it’s why companies like ever Lane evey er la and E and la ne calm which is by the way my favorite e-commerce company from a marketing perspective I just am in love with these people I’m gonna try to get them to come speak at my conference in August actually companies like buck Mason they are speaking at my conference in August in Denver but um I think that one of the places to pay attention to is video content that tells the story of who you are and why you are what why are you making this product what problem does it solve and then how you’re doing it so manufacturing process transparency is a huge trend and it also what’s fascinating about that Dave is manufacturing process transparency in and of itself is product differentiation meaning you could have literally the exact same products as any other bum in the market but if you are transparent about how you’re making it and why you’re making it the way you’re making it and who’s making it you don’t even need a USP on the product does that make sense that can be your USP yeah you seen this happen in the clothing industry you’re seeing it happen in the electronics industry you’re sure you have it in the makeup industry companies are coming in and being like look here’s how we’re making the stuff we’re making and why and they’re winning just on that so I focused on video marketing as a strategy to adopt for your for your you know your paint amplification and by the way just a little shameless plug here I do happen to have what I consider to be the best course in the entire world on direct response facebook video advertising but no problem you go to smartmarketer.com click on courses and there’s one called facebook video ads mastery and i have a free four part series if you go anywhere on smartmarketer.com you’ll notice i’m gonna be trying to market you a free four-part series on facebook video ads trying to get you to go through four videos kind of like launch model style for videos of content that like teach you about facebook video ads that won’t give you value even if you don’t buy my course they’re super good and then it’ll try to sell you my course which is a way to go really in depth on that subject but I think that’s tough where do you should focus your energy and and not selfishly but just because that’s where I’m focusing my energy and it’s really working for me I look at purple mattress you guys know purple was 0-2 100 million in two years no VC funding all video marketing all YouTube Facebook video marketing no retail they’re all direct response kind of beautiful they’re actually coming down one of my events too I love those guys then the other place I would focus is on product creation transparency so like who you are why you are what you’re doing how you’re doing it and creating content in that area because that area is extremely compelling at this particular time in history and it will be for the next ten years or so we got about five to ten year window where this is kind of the thing and then what’s gonna happen is Gen Z who are like these kids were like I’d say I don’t know actually what their age ranges are but I want to say between 15 and 20 right now or 13 and 20 whatever they find themselves interested in will sort of be directing what like sort of ripples through ripples through the markets but yeah that’s what I’d say just again I don’t know why you wouldn’t be please please check him out smartmarketer.com I will have links down below again you’re such a dear friend this is a man of massive integrity what-you-see-is-what-you-get he is the real deal I can never say enough nice things about azor in fact I think it’s the funnest thing about it is you will never find anybody anywhere who ever has anything negative to say about Ezra it’s just the greatest guy in the world well maybe Russell maybe Russell who got me Russell and I had a tussle in the kitchen at Pirates Cove yeah I think he armdrag to duck under and he got me and it was like you know we’ve been sort of like texting back and forth about one day we’re gonna battle we’re gonna wrestle you know he was like a really high level college wrestler and I was just like a bum high school wrestler but I’m pretty dang good at jujitsu which is like you know martial art where you where you’re allowed submissions and you’re you know you’re allowed to do strangleholds and armbars and things like that and and we had this tussle in the kitchen at Pirates Cove and lamb it was on a concrete floor so you could only go so far but he beat me to the first he beat me to the first like he would have gotten a takedown he got behind me and he would have been able to take me down and we would have had a scramble but yeah so we got some unfinished business there Russell and I look forward to coming out to Idaho coming out to Boise one of these times and getting a match in maybe we’ll film it and put it on ClickFunnels™ love it yeah but that’d be really fun I’m actually injured my necks I’m out for a while but anyways I don’t think
