really know what to expect.
And I asked Dean,
and Dean was like,
“Oh, we talk about business,
“but we always talk
about business.
“Let’s leverage Tony while we
got him for a couple hours.”
– Okay.
Is Russell gonna join us too?
– Uh…
– Oh is he gonna be up–
– Yeah, he’s right there.
– Okay cool.
I think it’d be worth
taking a few moments,
a minute or two with
each, and have you tell us
where are you right
now in your life?
Where are you?
What’s great?
What’s missing?
What needs to change?
And let’s see if we
can go a little deep
so it’s not a
surface thing here.
We’re happy to answer
marketing and sales
and business
questions, of course.
But my hope for you is that we
go a little deeper because…
How many of you are
between 35 and 45?
(bleep) Virtually all of you.
So, if you’re in that
range, close to it,
every stage of life has
different opportunities
and different challenges and
I’m lucky enough to have
lived almost 60 years now
and I can look back on those
years and see each decade.
And everyone’s different,
nothing’s universal.
But, there’s certain things
that that stage of life
show up for people
pretty predictably.
And if we look at
some of those things,
we might be able to
give you even more help
than just your business,
which will help your
business as well.
So, if you’re open to
it, we’ll go there, so…
– I’d suggest going
deeper than you
even thought you were gonna be
and I also wanna give
it up for Russell,
our other partner and
friend, in helping make this.
(applause)
What a great friend
and it’s been amazing
for us to get to know you more,
and Colette it’s
been so awesome.
You guys are family now,
so without any further
ado, let’s do this.
– [Russell] In a
way, we basically did
where there’s 10 of us that were
kind of in this
little small group,
and Dean and Tony are in front,
and everyone had a chance
to introduce themselves,
talked about what they were
doing and having success,
so everyone could
celebrate together,
and then talk about what in
your business or your life
you had questions about,
or you were at a crossroads
and didn’t know what to do
and just kind of be vulnerable
and share that a little bit.
I was in the second row
so I had a little while
to sit back and just relax and
a couple hours to watch him
go deep on everybody else.
But what’s amazing about Tony,
when you watch him
do what he does,
his context of
who’s in the room.
He’ll go deep on someone,
he does an intervention.
As he’s doing it, he’s
saying things specifically
that he knows that
Russell needs to hear,
or Jenna needs to
hear, or whatever.
And he’ll say something
and he’ll mention it,
he’ll look at me direct
eye contact like,
“That was for you, Russell.”
I’m like, “Got you.
“Okay, I’m picking up
what you’re laying down.”
So I had a chance to see him
do a bunch of interventions
like Lewis Howes, and Josh
Bezoni, and Billy Gene,
and just all different
people leading up to me.
And from everyone’s
presentation,
I dot different pieces about
how to structure your life,
how to do your morning routines.
All these cool things made
me start thinking in my head
about ClickFunnels
and the future,
and what do I wanna actually do?
– [Tony] We’ve worked
with individuals,
but how many gotten something
for yourself in each one so far?
Just wanna make sure.
Okay, good.
Just wanna make sure.
– In fact, by the
time he got to me,
I was just like,
“I’m kinda good.
“I know most of the
answers I looking for.”
Hey.
– [Tony] You should
be up here talking.
What are you doing
sitting there?
(laughs)
No, I wanna be back here.
But there’s one question that
I’ve always wanted
to ask Tony about
but been really
nervous about it.
It’s kind of the
question that like
I don’t think anybody else
would ever dare to ask him
or even bring it up.
But…
– Russell, at lunch today, said,
“What I really wanna ask
Tony is how’s his breath
“always so amazing?”
– How’s what?
– How’s your breath
always so amazing?
– Your breath is insanely good
all the time.
– That’s what he said.
(laughs)
– Probably isn’t right now.
(laughs)
– [Russell] That’s
actually a real question.
You can text me the answer
to that one some time.
What’s that?
– Alkalinity.
– I literally said
it last night.
– When your breath’s
bad, you’re very acidic.
– Huh.
– Yup.
– That’s all I got.
Just kidding.
(laughs)
It’s hard to put it
as an actual question,
so I’m not really sure exactly.
It has to do with kind
of just direction.
So, obviously,
ClickFunnels turns
five years old in two weeks.
It’s been five years run–
– [Tony] Give him a
hand, that’s awesome.
(applause)
– Thank you.
It’s become bigger than we
ever, I think, dreamt initially
and it’s been a really really
fun ride as we been growing.
We’re almost 400 employees now.
We passed 95,000 active
customers last week,
we should have 100,000 by
the end of this year, so
(claps)
a lot of fun things.
– [Tony] That’s what I’m
saying, that’s not a promotion
it’s a business.
– But also, it’s…
I remember the very
first time we met
at UPW like 10 or
11 years ago, and–
– [Tony] Toronto?
– In Toronto, yeah.
And you told me, you
said the reason why
you got in this business
is because of the art.
You were doing your art and
then you built a business
because you had to do it to
be able to support your art.
And I’ve always felt like
that’s very similar to me like
I love the art of what I do,
and that’s what I’m passionate
about, that’s why I love it.
It’s all about that for me,
and as the business has grown,
I’m still in the CEO role,
and I think that’s been one
of the hard things is that
as it’s grown, my ability
to do the art has shrunk.
I have pockets of
times I could do it,
like doing events I love,
I love writing the books,
I love doing content,
but now I’m a CEO also
which, especially at this
level, there’s all the
legal compliance now which
you take my art and then
the lawyers look at it
and they try to destroy the
art before they send it out.
It’s hard and then you get
just all the
government regulations.
We processed $4 billion so
far through ClickFunnels.
Now, it’s just like
the bureaucracy,
that part of it now is…
– Yes.
– What takes up
so much of my time
and my ability to
spend time in the art
has gotten smaller and smaller.
And I think that’s kinda
been this weird spot
where I’m at where it’s like
we have an opportunity, I think,
if we wanted to
exit, we could exit.
But then I have the
fear of if I did exit,
would I lose my art,
and is there a way to
exit and keep the
art, or is it just
do I need to shift
so I can do my art
and not worry about
that part of it?
So, that’s kind of the
question coming into it,
which a lot of stuff you
said to Josh has been…
Was really good for me as well.
– Yours is different
though because
you have really
mastered that business
at a really amazing level
where you could sell it for
a billion dollars probably
on a gross multiple as
you described, right?
So, I don’t think it’s
quite the same thing there,
but I think the difference is
the art matters to
you emotionally.
That’s why I
brought it up to you
when I was talking up here.
It matters to you so much,
that if you don’t have what’s
next before you sell it,
you’re making a big mistake.
So, you either gotta decide
maybe I’ll get a
valuation slightly less,
but all my employees
will win and I’ll win
and I can just keep running
it and I’ll do my art,
I’m gonna hire
someone to be the CEO
and I’ll be the chairman.
That’s what I would do, that’s
what I am in my company.
I’m the chairman, I’m
no longer the CEO.
So, you either decide to exit
because you don’t
want those things,
and in those cases I’m
not the CEO there anyway,
someone else is
doing it, but for me
it was getting in the way
of what I wanted to do.
And the other area’s I
made myself chairman,
I hired CEOs that are really
skilled in those areas,
and then decided what I wanna
do with those businesses
’cause I wanna keep them.
So, I got enough
assets, enough benefit,
I don’t need to sell them.
You have enough assets probably
’cause you live very humbly.
This guy’s one of the
most humble people I know.
He’s like 100
million times better
than he ever projects
himself to be,
he always understates
who the (bleep) he is,
he’s a total (bleep) stud,
and he’s incredibly humble,
is he not?
And it’s incredible.
And he lives a humble life,
and he’s got five
beautiful children,
and he’s just a
great human being.
You all know that I think
if you interact with him.
So, you have all that by the
ass, so to speak, by the tail.
So, to me, it’d be like,
“Okay, I can exit, but
if I’m gonna do it,
“what am I gonna use
that for that’s gonna be
“even more fulfilling?
“Otherwise, I should keep
this and get someone else
“to do the shit I don’t wanna
do who’s even better than me,
“get back into my art.”
As your friend, you
love what you do.
You light up when you do it,
I love being around you
when you talk about it.
It’s like Jesus
has come to Earth
and is coming through his body.
It’s a beautiful
thing, you know.
So, for you to sell that is
really exciting right now.
I don’t know if it’ll be
exciting five years from now,
unless you found the
next most exciting thing
that you’re gonna build
and make happen and go do.
‘Cause the money’s not gonna
change your life, brother.
It’ll change your
life for the moment,
it’ll provide some
comforts or some securities
maybe more than you
have, but, honestly,
the lifestyle you
have, you got plenty.
I would not let the
momentum of the business
determine where my
life is gonna go.
I decide where my
life’s gonna go
and decide where the business
needs to go based on that.
‘Cause, otherwise,
everyone around you’s
gonna push you towards
it, and because
a billion dollars, like
that’s the big number
everybody wants to
hit, not everybody,
most people wanna hit
a million dollars,
but a billion dollars,
oh my god, you know.
A billion dollars’
unbelievable, but
most of your life probably
won’t change very much.
So, maybe decide
how you’re gonna get
the assets you want for
yourself and your family,
but where you could do the
art still and keep growing it
just for your own fulfillment,
and because you have so much
to give and you’re like,
how old are you now?
– 39.
– [Tony] You’re not
even (bleep) 40.
You haven’t even gone on
your (bleep) journey yet.
It’s beautiful what
you’ve accomplished.
No, I mean it, that’s
not derogatory.
It just means, “Holy
(bleep), I’m 60.”
You think about
the next 20 years,
what you can do from
where you are now.
Where I was at 39,
most people are like,
“Oh, it was unbelievable.”
It was like (bleep) nothing
compared to what I’m doing now.
So, I wouldn’t sell myself
short for the money.
Still get the money,
you should be smart.
You should take it off the
table, you built something,
you should do it.
Should help your people do it.
It’s figuring out
what your plan is
that’s gonna be more fulfilling.
That’s the most important thing,
’cause in the end,
it’s the fulfillment
that’s gonna make the
quality of life happen.
It’s not gonna be the dollars.
And you love what
you do, brother.
– [Russell] I do.
– And you’re getting pulled away
from some of it, as you
said, more and more,
so all the more reason
to sell the business,
but that’s not
really the reason.
That just means you
shouldn’t be doing that role.
Find somebody who’s so good at
the role, loves that (bleep).
– Yeah.
– [Tony] That’s who
you put in there,
that they thrive
on that (bleep).
It’s like knowing what
your greatest gifts are
and staying with
those even more.
The business wouldn’t be here
because of your CEO role.
The business is here
’cause of your vision,
and your influence,
and your passion,
and your creativity,
and your intelligence,
and your (bleep) caring,
and your ability to teach,
and your humility.
That makes everybody go, “Man,
“he really seems
like an easy guy.
“If he can do it,
I can do it too.”
You don’t seem like
superhuman and you are.
But you don’t seem like
it, which is what makes
more people be able to succeed.
I’m 6’7 so sometimes they
think I’m super (bleep) human,
and I’m not super
(bleep) human, right?
But they think I am, so
then sometimes it was like,
“Tony can do that
shit, what about me?”
But if they spend
enough time with me,
they see they don’t
have to do what I do.
They can do what they do
even better, you know?
Makes sense?
– I think, for
sure, your company,
and, obviously, you’re on
track to do great things,
but I think if you got
the right CEO in place
who loved being a CEO as
much as you love marketing,
there’s another level
of exponential growth,
’cause I know you.
You and I market, we
think a lot alike,
we have great conversations.
You’re just getting pulled
away from that genius of yours.
Your biggest growth could be
just what Tony’s talking about
is a CEO that loved
running the day-to-day
as much as you love marketing,
and you got back
into your craft.
I think there’s another
exponential growth
waiting with that decision.
– It’s also timing.
You should probably take
something off the table, right?
But still keep your vehicle
unless you’ve
found a better one.
You need to get out of
what you don’t enjoy.
‘Cause when you do what you
enjoy, you (bleep) crush it.
And you feel alive.
She knows better
than anybody, right?
There’s two types of marketing
that are sucking your energy,
external or internal marketing.
External marketing is
the time you’re spending
serving the customer
and the client,
or maybe your internal clients.
Internal marketing is
dealing with all the (bleep)
that frustrates you
and pisses you off,
and if you’re spending so much
time on internal marketing,
you have less for
external marketing,
the business will not
have the same value,
or, more importantly, even
though the business keeps going,
you aren’t feeling
the same value.
So, there’s only so much E.
I got a lot of it,
you guys do too.
E meaning pure energy,
but there is a limit
no matter who we are, no
matter how strong you are.
So, you gotta say where
is that energy gonna go?
And if there’s any mistake
I used to make, by the way,
it’s to stay with
people way too long,
’cause I’m a very loyal person,
but what I’ve learned is
if I’m not loyal to the mission,
if I’m not loyal
to the best players
by trying to stay with somebody,
if you’re gonna play
with Michael Jordan,
you better be (bleep)
ready to play.
Otherwise, go play
somewhere else.
Nothing wrong with you
not wanting to give
the same amount as I do, but
you shouldn’t be on this team.
Find somebody that loves to
deliver as much as you do
on the marketing like Dean said,
it’ll be a different
game for you.
– As a consumer of your content,
I listen to every
podcast that you release
and I can hear you
just trying your best
to squeeze in that time
on your drives to work,
or wherever it can be,
and it’s always gold.
I always do kind of
leave those episodes
thinking like, “What if
Russell just had more time
“to create, to write, to do
what, frankly, you do best?”
And so, I think that chairman
is a really interesting role
for somebody like you.
That was cool.
– [Tony] Give him a hand.

– Well, thank you both so much.
I feel like I’ve
already gotten so much.
(calm inspirational music)
– [Russell] Yeah, I think
a lot of entrepreneurs
they start their
businesses because
they’re passionate
about a thing.
I’m a great photographer,
or I’m a great
designer, whatever.
They get into because of
the passion for the thing
and then you have to
learn all these businesses
to be able to support the art.
And I think it’s interesting
how we all eventually
have to become the
CEO of our business
because we’re the ones who
are the most passionate.
We get stuck in the CEO
role because that’s where
you need to be to
drive the ship,
but a lot of times
that’s what then makes it
so you don’t even spend
time with the art.
And then you start, in
some cases, resenting it.
It shifts really quickly
from being an entrepreneur
to back to being a job.
It’s kind of the opposite reason
why most of us got
into this business.
I’m not exactly positive
what I’m gonna do.
For sure, what I’m
gonna do is I’m gonna
try to have an
inventory of myself
to really sit down
a bit and think
what are the things that I love?
If I was to design
my perfect week,
what would that look like?
If I was to design a perfect
month, a perfect year.
I think a lot of times,
we don’t focus on
architecting that
and designing it,
so instead, come to the
office everyday and it’s like,
“Ah, there’s a whole
bunch of fires.
“What fire do I put out
first, second, and third?”
Instead, it’s coming
back so, “Okay,
“who’s the person who can
be in charge of the fire?”
If I was to build this
from ground up right now
with only put
myself in spots that
they give me most passion
and fire and excitement,
like what would those be?
Almost like writing
your own job description
for your own job.
This is my job description,
I do this, I do this,
I do this, I do this.
And then make a job description
except you don’t like as much.
And take that job description,
like who’s the person
that wants this job?
‘Cause there are
people who love it.
I phone up my funnel
building team, I’m like,
“You guys are so lucky.”
I have to go have a
meeting with so-and-so and
you get to build
funnels, I love it,
I love sitting down at a
whiteboard and architecting,
and figuring out the designs,
the branding, the logos,
the hook, the author, the copy.
Like being in the
middle of that,
and when it’s done
you see the funnel
like how beautiful it is.
I love that part of it.
And the second part I love
is getting that ah-ha moment
for other people like
when they’re like,
“How would a funnel
work for me?”
And you explain it to them
all someday like they get it.
There’s something about that.
That’s the other part, so
I think it’s understanding
who are the people
that are obsessed with and
love the things that I don’t
and let’s give
those things to them
and let me just do what I love.

– The Dream 100, so
what is the Dream 100?
It’s something I
talk about a lot.
I try to get entrepreneurs to
build out a Dream 100 and to
focus on that as the core
foundation of their business.
Yet most people don’t
ever listen to it,
let alone actually apply it.
So, I wanted today
tell you guys the story
about how I used the Dream 100
to get to meet a
whole bunch of amazing
people that I wanted
to get to know.
Now, most importantly
my number one Dream 100,
who was Tony Robbins, and
how I used this strategy to
first off become his friend,
second off to getting to
promote ClickFunnels,
to promote us
and more recently to actually
become a partner with him.
And so, that’s what I’m
talking about today.
– Your reveal?
– Come on in bro!
– The reason why Tony Robbins
has been one of my Dream 100
I remember 15 years ago
when I first heard about him
and I saw him on “Shallow Hal”
and I was like, who is this guy?
– Okay.
– Now, close your eyes.
– So, I went to eBay and
I bought every single
Tony Robbins course I could
find and I plugged in,
and I would listen to Tony
talk to me every single day.
It started to slowly
shifting my mindset,
shifting my body,
shifting all the things.
As I was growing my
company I always thought,
man, it’d be so cool to
work with Tony on something.
I just said, I wanna
figure out a way
to get to know him and
get to work with him.
So, to kinda put
it in perspective
about how hard it is to get
through all the gatekeepers,
since he is a celebrity
that’s bigger than life.
Again, he’s been on movies.
More recently he’s got his
own Netflix documentary.
He speaks to
millions and millions
of people around the world.
– Tony Robbins is
one of the most
sought after seminars
in the world!
– I’d always had this thing
that I wanted to meet Tony.
– He’s about six foot nine
and he speaks like this!
– He coaches Presidents
of the United States,
runs 54 different companies,
five or six billion
dollars a year in sales.
I always think I’m the
busiest person in the world
until I look at Tony,
I’m like, me times 54.
For me the question’s
like how am I,
a 22-year-old kid
supposed to figure out
how to get access
to Tony Robbins?
Literally the biggest
person in my industry
and probably 40
different industries.
– You think he’s at
home now watching this?
– I don’t know Jay, I
don’t know where he–
– I was right here!
– So, what I did, that
built on the Dream 100,
of who are the people who may
be around Tony that I could
get access to, people a couple
of tiers down below him.
At that time my Dream 100 list
included a lot of those people.
People like Frank Kern and
John Reece and Eben Pagan.
All of them lived in
San Diego close to Tony.
And so I Dream 100
them, got to know them,
and then one day one of them had
a chance opportunity to
go and meet Tony Robbins.
When he got in there,
he talked to Tony,
and introduced Tony to all the
rest of the people
at that level.
I actually didn’t
know I was in at first
until one random day
I got a phone call
from Tony and his team to ask me
if you wanna come
and experience UPW
and then have a
chance to actually
sit down and meet
with Tony in person.
(upbeat music)
– How you doin’ out there
Toronto?
(audience cheers)
– So, I flew up to
Toronto to attend
Unleash the Power Within
and I came as attendee.
– Not consciously but
unconsciously through a problem!
– He invited me to
sit in a private
section right in the front.
(upbeat music)
And every time he’s talking
about different topics
he keeps looking at me
and keeps looking at me
and I’m like, oh my gosh,
all leading up to that night
we had a chance to do
the Fire Walk with Tony
which is what UPW is famous
for, you get to walk on fire.
– The purpose of
the Fire Walk is
just a great metaphor
for taking things
you once thought were
difficult or impossible
and showing you how
quickly you can change.
– And he came to me
and said, Russell,
so glad to have you, and
gave me this huge hug.
And he said, come on,
let’s go walk on fire.
(audience cheering and clapping)
(suspenseful music)
I remember going to bed
that night I called my wife,
I was like, oh my
gosh, I walked on fire
and I met Tony, it was crazy!
And I just I knew that that
little piece of him I got
I was like, I want more of this.
I want more for
myself, for my family.
And so, that’s kinda
where it really began.
And when Tony was in his
hotel room talking to me,
one of the first things he said,
he said that I read
about your story.
I know a little bit about you
and you got started
with potato guns, right?
I was like, how
did you know that?
He’s like, ah, I watched
this video of you.
And I’m like, ah,
so embarrassing
that you know about
my potato guns!
But when I got back
from UPW I was thinking,
what’s something
I could send him?
What’s something I can, a
man who can buy anything,
who has everything, what can
I send him that’s unique?
That’s special?
And all of a sudden
I had this idea.
I should send him a potato gun.
The actual potato
gun that we made
in the DVD “How to
Make a Potato Gun”.
And so, I waited for a
month and then two months.
And I didn’t hear anything back
and then one day I get this
email from Tony saying,
Russell, I just got
to my home and there’s
this big, huge box
on the front porch.
He told me that that
night him and Sage
and everybody went out and they
shot the potato gun
in his backyard.
I wanted to send
him a potato gun,
because I wanted
to figure out a way
that Tony’s gonna
remember my name.
And I thought, what’s
gonna be unique that he
will always associate with me?
And I thought the
most unique thing
I could possibly send him
would be a potato gun.
(phone rings)
One night I got a random call.
And I didn’t know who the
number was but I answered it.
And it was Tony
Robbins’ assistant.
They said.
– Hey, Tony wants to know
if you wanna speak in Fiji?
And Collette’s sitting
there and I was like,
Tony wants me to speak in Fiji?
And she heard that and she goes,
tell him yes, tell him yes!
I was like, when is this?
– Next week.
– You want me to speak
in Fiji next week?
And she starts jumping
on the bed like,
tell him yes, tell him
yes, mouthing that to me.
And I’m like, yes,
yes, we’ll come!
And that was 10 years ago.
We actually stayed
in this exact same
house that we’re in right now.
And the kids were
playing right here.
And the first time we got here
I’m like, what should we do?
And there’s a projector here
so that night we sat down
and we actually
watched “Shallow Hal”.
– Please stand up
and give a big hand
to Russell Brunson,
ladies and gentlemen!
– First off, I know a lot
of you guys have businesses
that are bigger than mine
that have been around longer.
But at the same time I hope
that I can bring some
value to you guys,
because I do have a skill set,
we in our company generate
a lot of leads online.
Tony sat in the back of the room
taking notes the entire time.
After the event we were
supposed to fly home
and he asked, he said, hey,
I’m creating this new product
called the New
Money Master series.
Do you wanna be on
one of the DVDs?
I was like, are you kidding me?
And so.
– Let’s get to it!
Russell, I just wanna
really thank you
for coming all the way to Fiji.
– Yeah thanks, it’s
been amazing so far!
So, all this amazing
(mumbles) and stuff happens
and there’s all this
momentum, there’s progress.
We’re moving our way in!
And then, nothing, for years.
Not just like a
year, multiple years.
Like four or five
years (chuckles).
And I got an email from
someone on his team like,
hey, do you wanna help promote
Tony’s book when it comes out?
And I knew that they
were gonna do it wrong.
And I was like, ah!
And so I messaged
Tony, I was like,
hey, I know you’re about
to launch your book.
We just launched ours,
we got a huge success.
I would love to jump
on a call with you
or someone on your team to
kind of explain what we did
’cause I think
it’ll help you sell
a lot more books if you
put it through a funnel.
And he said, I wanna
build a funnel.
Cool, we have this new
software called ClickFunnels.
We’d love to build the
whole thing for you.
And he was like, okay,
how does it work?
I’m like, oh, I need
some of your time.
And he’s like, coordinate
this with my team
and we’ll figure it out.
(phone calling tone)
we called his team
like, we need a day.
And they’re like.
– No.
– Okay, can we have half a day?
They’re like.
– No, there’s no way.
– And we’re like, well, we
have to get him on video,
talking about his book.
– I can give you an hour.
– I’m like, an hour?
– That’s all.
That’s stretching it even.
– Okay so, we flew to Vegas,
we got our own hotel room.
We rented the nicest
suite possible
’cause we needed a good
place to go film videos.
How you doin’?
– It’s been a long time!
– Okay, we got everything
set up for an hour.
We film all the videos we
needed for this funnel.
We gave it to him as a gift
and then they used that funnel
during the book launch.
– Thank you!
– In his newest book
“Money Master the Game
Seven Simple Steps”.
– And everybody here
is getting a book!
(audience applauding)
– It was on every
single news channel.
Today show, CNN, everything,
all pushing back to this
one book funnel that we’d
helped create for him.
– You gotta learn
from rich people.
He lived in a car!
He ain’t always had this book!
(Tony laughs)
– It was successful,
he was grateful.
And after that we didn’t
hear from him again.
Obviously he’s like
one of the busiest,
if not the busiest man on earth.
– He’s clearing out.
(door clicks)
– About that time is
when we had launched
our FunnelHacking Live event.
We had our first event and
we had no keynote speakers.
Our second event, right,
we should get a big
keynote speaker.
We’re like, you know what’d be
really cool is Tony Robbins.
Right?
We can’t afford Tony, let’s
just get somebody else.
As it moved in to
FunnelHacking Live number three
that’s when we’re like, okay
we should try to get Tony.
And I didn’t know
how that worked.
I don’t know what he’s
charged, I had no idea.
(gasps) But I was
like, you know what?
First off, if I wanna build
this relationship with Tony
I need to give him
access to our platform.
Number two, if I wanna
build a deeper connection
with my audience I need
to introduce them to Tony.
Tony changed my
life and I know that
he could change
their life as well.
And so, no matter how
much money it cost
we decided to go for
it and to just do it.
– Okay, go, okay go!
– Here he comes, here!
– We have Tony for the event!
– We got Tony!
(the men cheering)
– What?
No way!
(upbeat music)
– I don’t do that many talks
anymore, private talks.
I pick the ones that I wanna
do and there’s very few.
But I’m here because of Russell.
He is truly, yes,
give a hand for him.
(audience applauding)
(upbeat music)
– He went up there and
spoke for almost five hours.
And when he got off, I came
back on stage and it was crazy!
– [Audience] Russell,
Russell (clapping)!
– The entire
audience was standing
and they started
cheering my name!
– [Audience] Russell, Russell,
Russell, Russell (clapping)!
– And it was kind
of weird for me
’cause I didn’t do
anything, Tony did it.
But because I had brought Tony
to them they were so grateful.
After the event was over I knew
that Tony was in the middle
of launching his new book.
And we wanted to help
support this book as well
and so we set up
time after the event
up in the hotel room
for me to actually
go up there and interview
Tony about his book.
I’m excited ’cause I
read his original books
like 20 years ago and–
– Yeah, that’s the last time
I wrote a book (chuckles)!
– And then there
was no books forever
and then that’s when I
started going through
the courses, and the
CDs and the events, and.
And then after it got
done, him and his entourage
were cleaning up and they’re
about to head out the door.
And what he didn’t know at
the time is that in my pocket
I had the very first copy of
the “Expert Secrets” book.
And so as he was
racing out I said,
hey, really quick
Tony before you go,
I just finished my second
book and I would love
to give you a copy
of it and hopefully
you have a chance to flip
through it on your flight home.
He looked at me for a
second, to the book,
gave me a hug and then he
took off and he was gone.
(upbeat music)
Now I can fall asleep!
And we were just kinda
like, ah, crashing!
Like mission
accomplished, we did it!
We took the interview
and we promoted it
and sold a ton of
copies of his book.
Again, trying to figure out how
we can provide as much
value as possible.
So, we did that by
being an affiliate
and selling a ton of
copies of his book as well.
(suspenseful music)
I’d known him at this
point for about 10 years.
I had built book
funnels for him.
I had paid him to speak.
I’d given him access
to our platform.
I’d consult for him for
free as often as I could.
I’d try to provide
value as much as I can
and it was the first
time that I ever
went to ask Tony for anything.
And it was for the launch of
the “Expert Secrets” book.
It was coming out.
He is of all experts
the ultimate expert
in so many different
fields that I thought
if I can get Tony
to interview me
on his fan page that would be
the best thing in the world.
I was so nervous, I think a
lot of people when they pursue
a Dream 100 they’ll
do all the work
but the scary part is
asking the question.
Will you promote me?
And I had been so
nervous to do it.
Finally I said, you know what?
If I don’t ask, I’ll never know.
So, I sent him a message
and within like a minute,
Tony texts back and said,
yep, I’m in, I’ll help you.
I was like, oh my God!
– Tony Robbins is
doing a Facebook Live
with Russell tomorrow
at noon, yeah!
– Are you serious?
– No way!
– What?
So, at the time his
fan page had like
three point nine million fans.
(camera man laughs)
– The moment!
It happened today!
100%!
– This is so exciting!
– We’re clicking go and
went live on his fan page.
– There’s a new book out
called “Expert Secrets”.
The subtitles help you
define your message,
build a tribe and
change the world.
Yes, hold that up so we
all see that (laughs)!
– There it is (laughs)!
So, we’ll see the stats over
here on John’s computer.
– Hearts and love
baby, hearts and love!
The stats man!
– That video was viewed
over three million times.
Tony really opened up
his entire brand to me.
Allowing me to be able
to share my message
and my story and my
book with all of these
millions and millions of people.
And that was really the power of
building a relationship
with someone
to get exposure and access
to their entire audience.
– So, if you got my text, right?
You got my text?
– Yeah, yeah.
– Yeah, okay what
if you text me on,
I don’t have time, do I?
I have people come here in
five minutes, I apologize.
– [John] Some people’s coming
here in like five minutes.
– Well, thank you
people for waiting.
Oh!
(the guys chuckle)
– Dude, that’s awesome, my gosh!
– [John] That’s so sweet!
(suspenseful music)
– All right, so this time
ClickFunnels was growing.
We’re a little bit more
financially secure.
The next FunnelHacking Live
we’d sold over 3,500 tickets.
And so we said, you know what,
we’re at a point now when
we can book Tony again.
So, we called him back
up and booked him for
FunnelHacking Live
in Orlando as well.
And this was the
FunnelHacking Live
where we introduced Operation
Underground Railroad
which is a charity
that Tony’s part of.
Tony’s the number one donor
of Operation
Underground Railroad.
And then, after the event was
done we were breaking it down
and we had a really cool
moment behind stage.
– Congratulations,
this makes me so happy!
You’ve made a
giant contribution.
Right, you know that will save
a whole lot of kids’ lives,
that’s just amazing
and beautiful.
So, congratulations.
– I think one of
the sub-lessons here
for the Dream 100 is
that by doing that,
and it wasn’t something
we orchestrated,
it was just something where Tony
and I both share the same value.
And for him to be
able to see that
and see it wasn’t just
something we talked about
it was something we actually
did and put it into practice.
It’s just something that
builds the connection,
the friendship, the
relationship, that much closer.
And so, it’s important
to find people
that you share values with as
you’re building your Dream 100
because that’s what makes those
relationships really matter.
So, after that
FunnelHacking Live.
When I fast-forward
about six months later
I got invited by
Brendon Burchard
to go to a private
mastermind group in Wyoming
with a whole bunch
of amazing people.
And it was a private mastermind
group that nobody knew about.
We flew in helicopters
to get to this location.
Go fishing, shoot shotguns,
a whole bunch of other
cool things like that.
And on the flight home,
Dean and I were actually
sitting next to each other,
talking to each other.
We’re talking about different
projects and ideas and
we’re sitting on a plane,
both in first class,
and some guy walks
past and he’s like,
hey, I’ve read both
of you guys’ books!
And we’re like,
who’s was better?
(Dean chuckles)
And it was really–
– True story!
– And Dean starts
telling me this story.
He’s like, hey, I’m working
with Tony on this project.
And he starts going
through the whole thing.
And I was like, dude,
Tony doesn’t even do real
projects with anybody!
And he’s telling
me this whole thing
and I’m getting more
and more jealous.
– Oh, can I jump
in here one minute?
I just wanna tell you what this
guy does behind the scenes.
So, he’s like, you and
Tony are doing this thing.
Tony and I built a
software and a course
on how to extract your
knowledge and run masterminds.
– He’s like, I wanna
create a masterclass.
But for masterminds.
He said, instead
of buying a course
from Michael Jordan about
how to play basketball,
imagine going to
Michael Jordan’s house
and actually playing
basketball with him.
And he’s like, that’s
the difference.
And I was like, I get
it, and I was like,
what are you calling this thing?
And he’s like, oh, he had a
couple of different names.
I’m like, dude, you
should buy mastermind.com.
And he’s like, someone already
owns that, I can’t get it.
And I thought, oh,
that’s too bad.
That would’ve been amazing.
And then a couple of days later
I was thinking about his
idea and his project.
And I was like, I wonder
who owns mastermind.com.
So, I went to mastermind.com.
And sure enough there
was the site there.
It looked like it had
been fully developed.
And I was clicking
through the site.
I went to the About Me
page, it showed a picture of
the founders of mastermind.com.
And they we’re
literally holding a
2 Comma Club award
in their hands!
I was like, oh my gosh!
I have access to these people,
I can get a hold of ’em!
– So, here’s the cool part.
So, he tells me, you
should have mastermind.com.
It’s only a million
bucks, I’m like,
I don’t really wanna
spend a million bucks.
– I was like, no dude,
you have to have it!
Masterclass.com, mastermind.com,
you have to have that domain!
So, I’m like, Dave a
million bucks is too much.
See if you can negotiate.
So, Dave goes back to
negotiating with these guys.
And then, we had the idea.
– Do you wanna know this
guy, the way he plays?
He negotiates, buys
mastermind.com for 600 grand.
And gifts it to Tony and I.
(audience cheering)
I’m not done, I’m not done.
But he’s no fool!
Tony and I saw that reciprocity
and now we made him a partner.
(audience cheering)
Nice move!
– Dream 100 at its best!
Anyway.
It was one of those things
where it’s just like
you’re, wow, this
dream’s come true!
Something I hadn’t even
fathomed 12 years earlier,
or 10 years ago when
I was in this room.
To be not only friends
with Tony and Dean
but to be business
partners with them.
We launched mastermind.com.
It was the biggest launch in
the history of
internet marketing.
Doing over 38 million
dollars in sales
in a two week period of time.
The top 10 affiliates
is gonna fly with us in
Tony’s private plane to Fiji!
Insane!
(audience cheers)
It’s gonna be fun!
– Yeah.
– So.
– That’s why we’re
here on this trip.
That’s what we’ve been doing.
And that’s why the Dream 100
strategy is so important.
Looking back on it
it’s crazy to think
we used this strategy first
off to get in the door,
so that Tony knew who I was.
Second off to build
the relationship and
build a friendship.
And eventually to
build a partnership.
Right, it’s not necessarily
the fastest way to grow
a company, but it’s
the long-term strategy.
Tony always says.
– But most of us overestimate
what we’re gonna do in a year.
Then we get disappointed.
We underestimate what we can do
in a decade, or two, or three.
And that’s why very
few people fit there.
But I’m here, because this
young man has true integrity.
He really delivers.
I know you know that by the
passion that you have here.
The skill sets that
he gives you in there,
but also everything he
does is with integrity.
Which sounds kinda corny
and boring, but it’s rare.
So, I really wanna
acknowledge Russell,
and his lady, and his team,
for being the kind of people.
(audience cheers)

– Year number one if you
look in my Dream 100 strategy with
Tony would look like
a complete failure.
I met him for five
seconds and that was it.
Looking at it over a decade
now, it was a smashing success.
So, that’s why the Dream
100 is so important.
That’s why it’s important to
start planting those seeds now.
And if you do that now, today,
not tomorrow, not in the future,
not when you’re ready,
you start today,
you start planting those seeds,
it gives you the ability
in a year from now,
five years from now,
10 years from now,
to harvest those
seeds at a level
you never thought
was even possible.

How many walk on fire?
Great, you’re only born
with two human fears.
You were born with a
fear of loud noises.
Second fear you’re born
with is a fear of heights,
and every other fear
you have was learnt.
There’s candles on
your table right now.
You’re scared of them
’cause they’re hot,
but you learned
that fear of heat.
If you got a kid that’s
two or four years old,
they’re scared of the dark.
At under two, they’re
not scared of the dark
’cause they haven’t
learnt that yet.
At eight or 10, they’ve
unlearnt that fear.
The fears we have about am
I good enough, tall enough,
skinny enough, smart enough,
pretty enough, rich enough,
all of those fears are learnt,
but the other fear you’re
born with is fear of heights.
Everybody has it.
And so we’re gonna go
climb some poles tomorrow,
and do some cool stuff.
– [Man] All right.
– That’s all I’ve got.
– That was kinda vague on what
the poles and rope thing is.
(laughing)
– [Man] Get yourselves
in a circle,
we’re gonna conspire
to beat the other team,
to be quicker, to have more
fun, to have more energy,
to be more inspired.
Energy.
In your business, if you
bring energy and passion
to your business does
it change the game?
Yes or no?
– [Crowd] Yes.
– If you’re standing
here like “Holy (beep)”,
that’s probably not the
right energy you need
to bring to this experience.
In almost all of life, and
I learned this from Tony,
if you bring a sense
of fun and possibility
to anything you do, can you
guys make anything happen?
Yes or no?
– [Crowd] Yes.
– So get with your team.
In your team I’m gonna direct,
so get in a quick
circle right now.

– Let’s go baby, give me a jump!

– I’m so internally
petrified right now.

– Oh, one step at a
time, these are wobbly.

– Funnily enough, some people,
when they get on
top of the pole,
they see the trapeze,
and they think “Oh
what I’m supposed to do
is catch the trapeze”.
Some people in life
are chasing things
that they didn’t put
in front of them,
somebody else put
in front of them.
So if you get to
the top of the pole,
and you decide based
on where you’re at
in your life right now
that you need to stretch,
and you need to
push, and you need
to strive toward something,
great, go get the trapeze.
– Ready, alive, alert,
and enthusiastic.
(intense music)
– Okay, six and seven
should be getting geared up.
– Oh, I’m six.
– But for some of you,
you’ve already mastered
the science of achievement.
How many of you have mastered
the science of
getting (beep) done?
How many are gonna get
(beep) done, raise your hand.
So why are you here?
For some of you, the
bigger challenge will be
to climb to the top of the pole,
find your balance, do something
extraordinary, watch this,
do this, go (inhales),
look at the view,
and just take a damn
moment in your life.
Does that make sense?
For some of you
that’s your challenge.
And maybe not catch the
trapeze, but do this.

Let come up whatever
needs to come up.
There’s no right or
wrong, there’s no perfect,
there’s no do over, but
have a beautiful experience.

He’s had, Tony’s had
20 more years than me,
I don’t pretend that I’m
on the same level as Tony,
but second to Tony has not been
many people longer than me,
and done the revenue I do,
so between the two of us,
I think when we’re dead
someday and in 40 years
they’re gonna be like “Remember
when that shift happened
where people decided it was
okay not to go to college,
and it was okay to
do this”, right?
So everybody says “You
guys did that in 13 days”,
I said that last
night, it’s the truth.
It took us 60 years to
figure out how to do
40 million in two weeks.
You know?
But what I’d love to know,
and Tony asked me
this last night,
he goes “Did you ask them
‘What more could we do
for this group to help you guys
when we launch in February?'”
Cause you guys, you guys
really worked hard for us,
and we appreciate it,
and there’s a couple
things we’re doing.
This year besides Tony’s
dedicated to do more podcasts
than he’s ever done.
I’m gonna fly around the country
and do a podcast with
everybody I possibly can.
We’re also doing something,
Tony’s got the best
PR lady on the planet.
We’re gonna spend a
(beep) ton of money,
I kept talking about
omnipresent during the launch,
and we hit that just
like you wanna do
with your book launch.
We had eleven
hundred affiliates,
every feed you went on Facebook,
didn’t even matter if you,
every feed, everything
was about KBB,
every podcast that
launched was about KBB.
Every ad, it was just,
it was unbelievable.
This year we’re gonna
put in the element,
and we’re probably gonna spend
half a million bucks
on straight PR.
Get on the cover
of Fast Company,
get on the cover of Inc,
get on the cover of Success.
We’re strategizing that
right now, and the cool part,
Tony has access to all of that
and they all want it anyway.
So we’ll be on the
cover of everything,
and it’s all gonna
come out in February.
Tony’s so emotionally invested.
He’s in the Facebook
group non-stop
reading all these
positive comments,
The software, we
got, we’re spending,
I think we just got the bill,
the estimate is gonna be 620
grand on the software alone,
to build out all
these great features,
that I would want to
use for an X level.
So we’re gonna have a great
story on how we upgraded.
We’re gonna have, we’ll
be 25,000 people strong
by the time we launch.
But I just would love to know
what we could do for you guys,
if there’s anything we
could do to help you guys.
You were there for us, we
wanna give back to you.
But anyway, just remember
to keep freaking,
wherever you are just
keep pushing the notch up.
And, again, we were talking
yesterday and I meant that,
if you feel that you’re
a lifestyle entrepreneur,
it makes no difference,
sometimes I feel obsessive,
like every time I get
to a certain point,
I couldn’t spend the money I
have for the rest of my life.
I should be done, and I still,
I work like I’m a 20
year old and hungry.
I do, because I’m an
achievement based entrepreneur,
I just wanna keep
growing and achieving.
I have friends that I
love dearly that make
two and a half million
dollars a year,
and they don’t need a dollar
more, they love their life,
they golf four times
a day or they do
all the things they do.
For me, as long as I can be
a good husband, a good dad,
make an impact on the
world, the rest of my time,
I wanna just keep growing.
But maybe I’m obsessive,
maybe Tony’s obsessive.
Maybe half of you are obsessive.
Just identify either,
and if you’re a
lifestyle entrepreneur,
then do everything in
your power to anchor in
the right people, the
SOP’s, know your KPI’s,
be able to look in a glance to
be sure your company’s going,
and go travel the world.
Maybe be lifestyle entrepreneur
until you have kids,
and then you go
accomplishment based.
Just know that difference
because a lot of
this conversation
for someone like maybe
where you’re at Jenn
is like “I don’t wanna
do all that crazy (beep),
I don’t want 200 employees,
I don’t want a jet,
I just want to make 2
million bucks a year”
and that’s great, and once you
identify that then you know.

So I learned this whole process from being a stage seller. Getting on stage, traveling around the country, and doing that. And then after like three years of it, I was actually in the Boise Airport, it was like one o’clock in the morning, I was flying out somewhere and I’m sitting there in the airport, all by myself, and I was sitting there on my phone depressed. And I was like, “This sucks really bad.” I mean my wife, I just had twins at the time, like my wife, my kids are at home, I’m flying out again to go someplace with a bunch of people I don’t wanna hang out with, to go do a thing, which is fun, and then go back to the hotel room and sit there for another, you know, 18 hours before I get to fly back home.

I was like, I don’t, like I don’t want this for my life anymore. So, I texted my wife at one in the morning. I said, “I’m quitting speaking. “This is my last time.” And she wrote back, “Yeah right. “Love you, see you in a couple days.” (laughing) And so then my mind, the whole rest of that trip, was like, how do I stop speaking and traveling? I don’t wanna keep doing that. So then I start transitioning to like well how can I do this more and more online. And so, the time, teleseminars is a big thing, so they’re gonna do teleseminars, and then webinars came, and it got better and better at doing it on webinars.

But, for me, like that was only way it kind of worked was just webinars, right? And the pitch and everything went through yesterday was something that’s been evolving for the last 10 years for me, and it’s to the point where now it’s, like there’s always little things were changing, but it pretty much works. That’s why we call it The Perfect Webinar. Like, it’s perfect. In fact I’ve had probably four or five of you guys who were like, “I did The Perfect Webinar, it didn’t work.” I’m like, “Oh, why not?” And then they show me, like, “Well, I changed this and I tweaked this.”

And I’m like, “Are you telling me, I give you something “called ‘The Perfect Webinar’, it’s perfect, “and then you changed it.” Like, duh. Anyway, so it’s just perfect. It works in every market that we’ve ever tried it in. But recently over the last probably year and a half to two years or so, the first time it happened out of kind of a fluke. One of my friends, Mike Phil Sims as you guys know him, he was launching a new product, and he wanted us to promote it and I wasn’t going to, but he’s like, when I first got started, he’s like my first friend, we got started at the same time and for the last 12 years, he’s been my closest friend in this whole business, and so, he’s like, “I really need your help man.

“We’re trying to do this thing.” He said, “We’re doing a Philly contest “and the winner gets a BMW,” and this whole thing, right. And I’m like, “Mike I don’t wanna promote, I don’t have time, we’re doing all this other stuff.” And anyway, so kind of left it at that. And then, he did the launch and people were coming and there’s leaderboards and everyone’s fighting and all this stuff’s happening. And he’s like, “Man, you gotta help, you gotta help.” And I’m like, “Everyone else has already promoted. “It’s kind of too late.” And then, I think it was like three or four days left in the launch before it ended, and he’s like, “Dude, what’s it gonna take? “Like, is there something?”

And finally, I’m like, “All right, I’ll do that, “but there’s only one condition.” I was like, “I don’t really want a BMW,” but BMW costs, I think about $50,000, the one he had, I’m like, “I do want a cryosauna, which is $50,000. “If I win, will you buy me a cryosauna instead of a BMW?” He’s like, “Dude, you are so weird.” And I’m like, (laughing) He’ like, “What is it?” I’m like showing him pictures. He’s like, “So, what do you do?” I’m like, “You get in it and you freeze yourself “for like three minutes. “It’s really cool.” Anyway, he’s like, “Whatever. “If you win, I’ll give you that, fine.” I’m like, “Cool.” So then I was like, well I gotta promote this, but everyone and their dog’s been promoting this thing for the last three or four weeks.

Like, everyone I know’s already bought. Like, how am I gonna come and compete in this short period of time? I was like, “Oh, I’m gonna do a webinar.” So I had this thought, I’m write a webinar, but then I got to the office and the day went on, there’s so much stuff happening and it takes, for me, a couple of days to really do a good webinar. And finally I was like, “I don’t have time to do it.” And he kept messaging me, “You gotta help me.” Finally got down to 48 hours left. He’s like, “Come on man, help me.” Finally, I was like, (grunting).

And then I had this like pop in my head. I was like, “What if instead of doing all these slides, what if I just opened up Facebook Live and just did a webinar off the top of my head and just see what happens.” I was like, that’s the only shot I had left. So, I’m like, “Okay.” So I sat down, in front of a whiteboard, here’s a picture of it, and I was like, “Okay, what’s my one thing?” And so he was selling automated webinar software. So this is not perfect, this is with like three minutes of prep time, so it’s pretty dang good. So I’m like what’s the one thing I gotta get ’em to believe? I gotta get ’em to believe that webinars are the future. So, how to make that sexy? How to make at least eight figures a year with this new webinar model? So I’m like, “Okay.” So I wrote that on the whiteboard. “All right, that’s my one thing.”

Okay, what are my three secrets?” “Okay, what’s their fear about that?” And I wrote down secret number one and I wrote down that. “Okay, what’s their internal fears and secret number two.” I wrote that down and wrote that down. And I was like, “Okay, if they buy from me versus everyone else, what should I give ’em?” I’m like, “Okay, here’s my offer.” I wrote down this and wrote down all the things there and then I took a little piece of white paper and I covered up each of those little things. Milton’s like cutting paper and taping them in the back and we’re like taping ’em up.

And then, within like five, 10 minutes, we’re like, “Okay, we got the webinar.” And I was like, I can’t remember if it was Bret, whoever had it, we had one phone on Facebook live and one was on Periscope, and they stood there and they went click and they started it. And I was like, “Hey everybody, welcome “to this Facebook live!” And I just did the whole thing. I’m like, “I’m gonna talk about nanananana.” And I talked about that. And I’m like, “Secret number one,” and I talked about it. “Secret number two,” and I talked about it. “Secret number three, and if you sign up right now “you’re gonna get,” and I pulled off the thing, “You’re gonna get this and you’re gonna get this.” And I did the whole stack and whole everything. I think it ended up being 26 minutes and 32 seconds was my entire time.

And it ended and I was like, “Whoo.” I’m like, “Dang.” I was like, “Did anybody buy yet?” And then they’re all, “I don’t know, let’s log in.” So log in to Philly account and sales are like, “Doon, doon, doon, doon, doon, doon.” And so then John jumps on and he’s like, “Man, sales are coming like crazy.” So he started boosting it. And over the next 48 hours they had over 150, 160 thousand people watch this. We did over $250,000 in commissions, and I won a cryosauna. Which was awesome. (clapping) Yeah!

– Hey, this is Russell Brunson again. Welcome to part five of five of my exciting interview with Tai Lopez. If you’ve missed any of the past episodes, go back in the playlist and make sure you watch all of them, because this interview was really, really fun. it was exciting. It took place from 1:00 a.m. to like three or four in the morning. Some of the stuff we said, something I wouldn’t normally tell people in a normal audience. But because I was tired, I was with Tai,

I was showing off. We dropped some really good value and some cool things I think you would love. So, with that said, were about to start the fifth episode. If you have not yet, make sure you subscribe down below. I know this is the last video in the series, but we got a whole bunch of other cool series coming out. I wanna make sure you are not missing any of them. During this last of this series, we talked about a lot of really powerful things like proximity is power, how to build a team, how to surround yourself with amazing people that’ll help you get to where you want to get to.

So if you’re struggling at all and you’re like I just, I know that people are doing it but I haven’t figured out how to do it yet, I think this interview is gonna help you a ton. A lot of really cool things in here. So with that said, let’s check out this video and afterwards I’ll jump back on and kind of have some final words for you. I appreciate you watching this series and we’ll talk to you after the interview. – What is the one and only thing you must have in your business model to succeed? The foremost, most important technique in building the overall business model. Is it marketing? Is it having, you got a good business partner. That I think is super, in my opinion, business partner is huge. – Man, there’s too many important things. – Good book on that called Working Together by Micheal Eisner.

You’d be surprised how many, what percentage, large percentage of billionaires had business partners. Whether it’s, number one guy for 18 years straight was, not right now, but Bill Gates. He had Paul Allen and then he had Steve Ballmer. You have Warren Buffet, who’s been number two on and off. He had his Charlie Munger, and you just go through the list. And there’s been people who did it without a partner, but the majority of people have partners. So that’s my answer, what’s your answer? –

I think I want to double on down on that. I think it’s huge. You know, I had a lot of businesses prior to ClickFunnels that marginally did well. It wasn’t until we did ClickFunnels. And it was fun, because when we built it, Todd, who’s my co-founder, who built the software, he was working with me kind of as an employee, not really, but kind of as an employee, and we had that in for ClickFunnels, and he’s like okay I want to do this, but I want to be your partner. At first I had this fear of like, oh, but like, this is my business and my all these kind of things. – Right. And luckily I was so grateful, that I was like, you know what, I’m gonna do it.

And I opened it up and what’s so cool is that like, he then went and took that and it became his business. So it wasn’t like nine to five, it became his life. – Yes. – And then after we launch ClickFunnels, we started adding people. Instead of doing what typical people do, and they hire a bunch of employees. I think it was ’cause Avengers had just come out and I love that movie. I was like we need to build an Avenger team. We can, and I read an article, I wish I’d have kept it, because it was so cool, but it said that an A player is worth 32 hundred times more than a B player. – Oh, yeah! – That’s 32 hundred times. – [Tai] Think about a good programmer. –

Yeah so I was like, let’s just get a handful of A players and let’s put them, and that’s going to be what we do. Like your partner he asked me, he’s like, so how many developers were at ClickFunnels? And I was like, I was kind of nervous because he just told me his last company had a hundred and something developers. And I was like, we’ve got 12. – What? – There’s only 12 developers in ClickFunnels. I’m like, yeah. He’s like, how is that possible? I’m like, we only have A players. We literally, that was the whole model. Get the best in the world. And they can do, one good person can do the work of 10, 15, 20 other people.

So, that’s how we’ve done things. – With programmers, they say that one good programmer is a good 30 to 60. We have a drink game campaign coming on Indiegogo. How about people who want to use Kickstarter, Indiegogo to raise money? You worked anything, and done ClickFunnels help them at all on that, because that’s its own kind of funnel. – Yes, I haven’t personally done it, but I’ve seen some people do it where they use ClickFunnels not to sell the product, but for lead gen ahead of time. – Okay. – To try to build up tons of pressure and excitement about their things. So, they thought then to take their Indiegogo video or their Kickstarter video and put it on a ClickFunnels page and just get options, and like pre-sell it. –

Yes. – Build a huge list, build a big following, and then when their thing goes live then they have this huge following they can just push right there and get a lot more traction a lot faster. – So you can use it to generate free clients, free emails, just versus paid stuff. – Yeah. – Be honest, you can use Shopify. It has some similar things. ClickFunnels, each of them have their pros and cons. Some of you are selling on Amazon making a lot of money. And honestly, let’s talk about that for a second. So, to be unbiased here, do you think there’s a time when it makes sense to maybe be up on ClickFunnels and up on Amazon? – Our biggest growth right now on ClickFunnels is Amazon sellers. – Okay, so, tell us how those work. How is that going? – So, a couple reasons why. One is like some people get spooked, because they lose an account, or they know someone who lost an account, and they’re like, if Amazon shuts me down, my business is gone, right? –

Yes. – And so, some people will come, ’cause like I need to control my destiny and have two. And so that’s a big reason why a lot of people do, just to be able to have two places they can sell it. Another big thing people do is, a lot of time they’re using Amazon to generate customers. For example, we had a buddy who sells the cell phone cords, does like a hundred grand a day in cell phone cords things. – What? – He gets them in China for like a penny, and sells them for like 20, 30 bucks. It’s crazy. So the thing comes in the mail. – A penny? – The box comes in the mail. – [Tai] You open it up. There’s your cord, and there’s a big card in the thing that says, hey, if you want a second cord for free, go to whatever.com. It goes to that page, it’s a ClickFunnels page.

They put in their shipping address. Boom, now they’ve got their customer’s contact info from Amazon over here. And now they’re able to sell them all the other stuff they sell. They sell power banks. They sell all the other, that type of product. – Cause it’s only a penny. – Yeah. – And what do they get in? They tell them you get another cord if you sign up to the email list or something? – Yeah, you basically go to this page, fill out your address, they’ll ship you a second cord for free. – Let’s talk about email for a second. Huge thing.

What is ClickFunnels, and what do you see in the future of email marketing? I think in my business I probably make, you know, anywhere from 200,000 to a million dollars a month, just having a good email list in just one of my businesses. Do you see the same trend? Email is still important, it’s not completely replaced? – I love email. I don’t think it will ever be completely replaced. What I’m finding fascinating is, we’re doing a blend now of email and also like FaceBook bot messengers. – Yes. – But using them both together has been really powerful. It’s like you have a message here, and then the FaceBook thing that complements it. –

Walk us through that for people who don’t know. What are you saying? So, we all know, we’ve been to websites, you put your email in and you get on some newsletter list. What are you doing with bot? When we hear the word bot, Are we talking about auto bots? Are we talking about transformers? We’re talking about auto-inserting a message into their FaceBook Messenger? – [Russell] Yeah, so at ClickFunnels we’re finishing out our platform that’ll do bots. And basically, someone will fill in their email address and there’ll be a little button that’ll say, do you also want us to send you this info through Messenger, right? –

They opt into both at once? – Yes. – So, people check a box, and do most people check both? – It’s a really high percent, yeah. So, it’s interesting if you look at, so we have, I think it’s over a million person email list, and I think we have forty thousand people on our Messenger list. – Okay. – And if we broadcast both of them, we get almost the same amount of clicks from each. – [Tai] Really? From just forty thousand? – [Russell] Yes. – [Tai] So if you had a million on the other one, it would be destroying email. – So, we’re putting a lot of effort and energy into the migration of getting people from here to here, and getting them in both places.

Because I also think that it’s also scary, cause it’s all on FaceBook, all on Messenger. If Zuckerberg wakes up one day and decides he hates marketers, it’s gone. So, I’m not saying get rid of email, but I’m saying use them both together, And there’s power in that. – [Tai] The more platforms you’re on, the safer it is. What can an affiliate either to be an affiliate to ClickFunnels, or to any product, how are they–

– Let’s do it for him. How many of you guys wanna be an affiliate and make Tai Lopez more money and make you guys money in the interim? This goes back to what I talked about earlier. So, I would go to YouTube, and I would find all the coolest Tai Lopez videos you can find. There’s a bunch of them, right? Find the ones that meant the most to you, and probably theme them out.

So here’s all Tai’s thoughts on cryptocurrency, Or all Tai’s thoughts on whatever. Find the videos, and then make a page that says I’m gonna give you the top ten Tai Lopez videos about cryptocurrencies. Put your email address in here, and I will email you the top ten videos I found. They’re amazing. You’re gonna learn about this, this, all this stuff, right? And that’s step one. So, number two then– – So, you get their email address. – I go to FaceBook yet, and I target Tai’s audiences and my audience, and entrepreneur audience, and Mark Cuban’s audiences, and Tony Robbins’ audience, and I say, come to this page, and I’m gonna give you Tai Lopez’s 10 best videos on this topic, and you spend a little bit of money. People come, they opt in, and then you start building email lists, and as some come in you email them. Here’s the links to the 10 videos.

And then, by the way, did you know that Tai, every single month, curates, him and his partner curate the best books they find, and this really cool thing called Mentor Box. If you click on this link, you can get an account to Mentor Box, and not only are you gonna get all these videos, now you’re gonna get all their books, their best books, every single month, blah, blah, blah. They’ll get their affiliate link from Mentor Box, and the same link that everybody else on earth is sending, same thing that you’re promoting, same thing everyone’s promoting, and they can’t be profitable, ’cause they’re nothing unique about what they’re doing. – [Tai] Yeah, you gotta make some content. – [Russell] So you take, and what’s nice about it I tell my people, I’m like, go to my channels. I have so much stuff I put out every single day. Find the stuff you like the most. Package it. Give away at an opt in, and then you build a list. And then sell my stuff. And we all win. – So, let’s talk about this for a second. Content.

A lot of people are scared of creating a video. They don’t wanna put their face on there. What do you say to somebody who has a false belief that they can’t create something, some cool videos, cause they’re introverted or they’re nervous, or what do you say? – Probably two things, and then we can go both directions. One is like, even if you’re introverted you can do like, I’m actually super introverted. If you ask my friends at home, every time they see a Facebook Live, they’re like you talk a lot on the camera, you don’t talk in real life. I’m super introverted. You can still do it. That’s number one, don’t be afraid.

Second thing, maybe you really are in a super huge fear. I look at my company. I got some amazing people who work with me, and partners and founders and stuff, and they’re not on video all the time. But I am, so it’s like if you can’t be that person, Find the partner who’s like they wanna do that thing. They wanna be the person in there. And make that the partnership, and that can work as well. – Partner. – Todd Dickerson that coded ClickFunnels, he wouldn’t have ever wanted to be on camera talking about ClickFunnels all day. And that’s like, I can’t code, but I can do that, so we found each other, and made it work.

Most cases introverts and extroverts are the best match. So, if you’re looking for a business partnership, maybe you can partner up. If you look at Warren Buffett is extroverted. He likes to crack jokes. If you go to the Berkshire Hathaway meeting, he’s funny. And then Charlie Munger, he’ll turn to Charlie Munger, who’s an introvert and be like, Charlie, what’s your opinion? And he’ll go, I have nothing to add. Your business partner is an introvert. My business partner, Alex, is visiting, and guess where he has been all day. Locked in a guest room in my house. He’s like, I’m working on something. No one bother me with humans.

But it’s a good partnership. Let’s talk about copy writing, somebody’s asking. How can people make their website the words matter, like it needs to say something awesome. – [Russell] We created a software that helps that, because the copy writing is the hardest part. All you need is to build a page, and it make look really pretty, look nice, but people come and like the words aren’t right. – Yes. – No one’s gonna buy. That’s what it all comes down to. Like the funnel doesn’t matter without the right words, the copy that converts people to buying.

I have a partner named Jim Edwards. He went through all marketing advertisements for the last hundred plus years, and he found all the best converting headlines from all the way back from the beginning of copy writing, like Gene Schwartz, and Gary Halbert, all these people, and combined all these things, put it into software, basically you could type in your product name, and it’s like, I sell this, this is what would benefit, this is what the features you talk about, you fill in some blanks, you click a button, and it pops out like 800 headlines. – Really? – Based on the best headline templates in the world.

And you just copy– – Where do you get this? – It’s called Funnel Scripts. – [Tai] Funnelscripts.com – I have a bunch of friends who are high paid copy writers, who charge anywhere from 15 to $25,000 a letter. And they used to go and they’d give their client a huge client questionnaire, and they fill the whole thing, and they go and spend the next six weeks writing copy. Now, they use a take client questionnaire. They fill it in Funnel Scripts. They click the button, and it pops out the copy, and then they tweak it a little bit, and they send it to the client, and charge the same fees. It’s legitimately crazy – If you don’t know how to write, here’s the thing.

It’s a catch 22. If you don’t know how to write, most people don’t know how to write. You’re not going to make a lot of money. One of the best things they should have taught us in school is copy writing, how to be persuasive. So, what’s some copy writing simple thing? There’s my simple thing. A lot of you guys need to fix your website. If you’re physical location, put the hours. Put the buy button high. I remember one time I couldn’t buy something. It was a website. I wanted to buy something. I searched. I actually sent it to my assistant.

Can you find how to buy? I honestly think they– – I wanna give you money. – No, I think they forgot to put the buy button up. It was like long, and they had written in. And they forgot the buy. So, my technique is keep it simple, stupid. Find out what people want on your website. Hit them with power words. The most powerful word in the English language, they say, according to Frank Lutz, he’s a famous political consultant, he says the word imagine is a power word. Imagine if you lost 50 pounds in the next 50 days. Imagine, you know, people like to, especially in America. So, that’s my quick hack.

What’s a hack for you to be, simple things, besides using this website? – My favorite headline in the world, works for almost everything is how to blank without blank. So, it’s how to, and then you insert the thing they desire the most, without the thing that causes them the most pain. So, for example, I could be like, how to read all these books, without actually ever reading a book. And then I’d give you money, because I wanted to watch the videos and get the whole download, right? – Yep. – ‘Cause like, every market I always start with that.

Okay, what do people actually want? So, how to, and then insert what they desire the most, without the thing that they’re most scared of. – Alright, I have a course where I’ve taught over 20,000 people how to build a social media marketing agency. – [Tai] So, they’re offering social media to end clients. – To businesses, they go around to businesses. They charge one to $10,000 a month. How do they get customers using your techniques. – So, if I was going to a business owner, and I was like what do they desire most?

They want customers coming in their place. So how to get– – Let’s say doctors and dentists. – Okay. – Or restaurants. – Okay. Let’s use dentists then. So, how to get cash paying clients to come into your clinic. They call them clinics? – Dentist office, dentist office. – Without having to, or how to get yeah, how to get cash, whatever, whatever their thing is, right? – Paying. – Paying dental clients. I don’t think most dentists want to sit there on social media, so without spending time on Twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat. –

Okay. – Cause they wanna fix people’s teeth. They don’t wanna be doing these things, right? – Yes. – If you have a social media marketing agency, you make a ClickFunnel landing page. The landing page at the top says, how to get, so if it’s a dentist, how to get 17 new dental clients this year from social media. And then you put without having to ever login to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. – [Russell] That’s a great headline actually. – You like that? – Right there. – You should use that, if you don’t use it, then you hate money.

That’s the only reason. – You hate money. I gotta use that line on people. So they build it on ClickFunnels. They get the headlines up. How would you get dentists to start going to see this page? – I would go to Facebook and target dentists. Pretty easy. That’d be the first spot. The next thing, I know a little about the dental market. If I was going after dentists, I would go to dentaltown.com Dentaltown.com has an email list of like 80,000 dentists you can rent for like five grand. – Really. – I’d buy an ad. I’d pound it out, and I’d have a bunch of clients overnight. – So, you can basically rent email lists. They call it email drops.

You can do an email drop to 80,000 dentists. And you have– – Most industries have those kind of things. I just happen to know dentaltown.com does it for dentists. But most of them have those type of things where people have aggregated the industry, and you can rent ads to go out in the email box. – Thanks so much for being here. But really quick, I’ve been watching a bunch of videos on YouTube today about how many people make $100 in a day, and most of them were so bad, it was painful, and I thought if you’re watching this, trying to figure things out, you need to learn some basics fundamentals about marketing and business. And so, my buddy Jim and I, his name’s Jim, not Batman, we made really cool video.

It’s gonna show you how to make a hundred bucks in a day. So what are we doing today, Russell? – So today, we are gonna build some funnels, and um, kind of like, um, I think I’ll tell a little bit what happens, did you guys see yesterday, we launched 30days.com? – I did! – Its like, its like- – I’m coveting the hard copy of that book. – Its thirtydays.com. We had 30 two comma club members, basically map out a 30 day blueprint. If they were to lose everything today, what would they do on day 1, day 2, day 3, they map out the whole thing, so this is what the book looks like. – Dangggg. –

Its actually, this is half the book, the real, this was the sample print, the final one will be this fat though, its 550 pages, oh goodness, and you open it up, and its got everybody’s 30 day plan, like here’s Trey Wellins, like what would I do day number one? I would do this, and he’s like day number one I’d do this, then day number two, I would do this, then day number three, and he goes through all thirty days. What he would do, he’d go from zero to hero if all he had left was a ClickFunnels account.

Then you got the next person, the next person, and anyway, hard bound is gonna be amazing, so So that’s 30 days, right now its going live, well yesterday, its been selling like crazy. Karen tag teamed along with me, and she did the episodes on some app, but the home page, I’m really proud of it, so just saying. – Most people think that if you have to create an email, if you have to create a sales page, if you have to create ads, you have to create teasers, all this different stuff that each one of those is a separate thing that has to be created individually. Well, when we talk about cannibalizing copy, or hacking copy, basically Russell’s already done all the heavy lifting, and unless he loses his mind in the next 24 hours, he doesn’t care if you hack his copy that he already wrote, because you’re gonna use it to sell his product, so any headlines you need, any bullets you need, anything you need, other than your own spin, and your own bonus, are already done for you.

You can just model what Russell’s already doing. – [Russell] We already did all the hard work. We killed ourselves on this page, it’s converting insanely well too so you know it works too. – Right so your job as an affiliate is to get people over to this page as fast as you can in a way that has them set up to want to sign up, that’s the whole point of doing an affiliate bridge page. So in my mind, I don’t know if you wanna draw this out, to just kinda show people what you think, what you think you would wanna do, but if you were an affiliate promoting this page, Russell, what do you envision your page, your bridge page, would look like, just keeping it as simple as possible?

– [Russell] Okay, I’m gonna open a paintbrush here, and I’ll doodle it here, so here over here, is the 30 days page that you are promoting. – Right. – [Russell] If you don’t have an affiliate link, it’s very easy to get one. All you do is go to 30days.com, and in the very top here there’s a button that says affiliates, you click on this button right here, and then you can join our affiliate program. Oh, we need to put our video here for the affiliates – But if you’re already a ClickFunnels affiliate, you can go into your regular ClickFunnel affiliate account and grab your link there. – [Russell] Yes, very true, for every affiliate, the link is there. Alright so then what we have to do basically, like Jim said we’ve already done all the hard work, the copy stuffs here, so you’re looking at this, and okay, I’m always thinking about when I’m an affiliate, what’s the offer?

So we already know that I created a really good offer, but now you’re competing against any other affiliate you want to, so what’s the, how can you make this offer even better? What can you do on top of it? So you come back and you build a bridge page. There’s a couple way to do bridge pages, you opted and do bridge page or just straight bridge page. – On this one, honestly, I would just do straight bridge page, I know that you talk about, you wanna build the list and stuff, but in this one it just feels like to me I don’t know. You could do it either way, but my thought was just to do straight up just bridge right to it. –

Okay, cool, so heres the Facebook ad over here, right? Then you’re dragging from Facebook app over to your bridge page. So your bridge page is basically like, its a really simple thing, that I’m basically trying to figure out or tell them what it is, so here’s the hook right. I’ve already told you that the hook is what if you were suddenly to lose everything? So for you id be like how does this tie back into my world, my life, and so, some of you guys are at like at a spot where this is your reality, like I just did lose everything, I’m completely bankrupt, I’m broke, whatever, and so maybe its you saying I’m gonna be a reporter, I’m gonna go on this journey with you and say look guys there’s this things like you said you can half the stuff so they take Russell’s headline and bring it over here. You suddenly lose everything… what would you do? So you model my headline.

I wouldn’t model the headline, I’d steal that headline, and just put it at the top of the freakin’ page. – [Russell] And then I have a video here, talking about like bridging the gap, so we call this a bridge page cause you’re bridging the gap, right? Just like hey, Russell Brunson, you may have heard of him before he owns this big thing called ClickFunnel, it’s really cool, in fact recently he was number 76 on the 500, sorry I just happen to have it sitting on my desk, for ClickFunnels, he’s been helping people build all these funnels, Where’s the, is this the camera right here? – Oh, so we can tell people that now?

– Hey. This is Russell again. Welcome back to part three of five of this exciting interview with Tai Lopez, who’s doing some karate chops on me right here. This is part three of the Interview Series. Now during part three, we talked about how does a brand new beginner, a newbie, someone who’s never done this before, how do they actually get started. And I’m going to share some really cool startup stories of people who are just like you, who found out what we were doing, and because of that, they changed everything.

I mean they are a neophyte, they got one dollar in their bank account, they’ve never built a website. How do they get started? You’ve got the book that teaches it.

Sell flashlights? He got a customer sell 20 million in flashlights in two months. – Insane. The best way, and what’s fun, is you guys are all watching this process. You practice this every single day. I practice this every single day. The biggest thing is to get your phone out, and start documenting your process. What ever it is you want to do. Every single day. In this book, there’s a quote form Garrett White, I was speaking at his event today. In the book, he talked about most people are scared, because when they get started, they’re like they start this thing, I’m not going to be good at it, I’m going to suck.

And the reality is when you first start you’re going to suck. But, the whole key is that if you keep doing it, you’ll suck less and less, and eventually you’ll actually become good. And so my guess, if you went back to the Snapchat’s of yours, five years, four, when did you start this whole game? – I mean I dabbled in 2012-13- – You were pretty good in the very beginning- – 2015 – You’re very first video in the garage was amazing, so- – That wasn’t my first one though. – See that’s great to know for everybody. –

My first one didn’t do as well. – How many did you have to do before one hit? – I mean I really started in 2013, and the big hit was in 2015. – Okay. Two years. This is amazing. This is important because you guys are like this is Tai Lopez, the big mansion, and everything’s happening. A million people are listening. But it didn’t start initially, right? – No. – So one of the guys in here, that I’ve worked really close with, his name is Anthony DiClementi he’s got a site called the BiohackersGuide.com. And he wrote this book. And he wanted to get this message out. And he was trying to buy ads and stuff, and nothing’s working. It’s like what should I do? Get your phone out, and every single day I want you to make one video showing some weird biohack, and at the end of it, tell people to go buy your book.

And he was like, okay. And he was like, what should I do? Just do any weird thing you want. So he starts picking a biohack every single day. One day it was, he put on these lasers on his nose and his ears, and he talked about the biohack- – Sharks with lasers on their heads. – Laser beams. And nobody watched the video. And he posted on his fan page, and like two people, his mom and me were it. Nobody listened to it, and he was like this isn’t working And I was like, it doesn’t matter you’re learning your voice.

Do it again. So next thing he did another one. And he did another one. and he did it every day for probably 11 or 12 days, and that day, that eleventh, twelfth day, he was kind of bored, he was like, I’m going to make a video called how to biohack your vegetables. And I remember watching it go live, and I was like dude you wasted a day. There’s no lasers, no weird things. There’s no freezing tanks. Your biohack, he was like, put butter in your vegetables and that’s how you biohack it. He does this little video, and we put like $10 of ads behind it, and for some reason, that one hit. In a week, it has 1.5 million views, sells 2000 copies of his book, and he’s off to the races. And after he kept making more videos, and more videos.

He didn’t know that was the message that the market wanted. We had no idea. He just kept doing it, and doing it, until it worked. So if you guys are just getting started, get your phone out, every single day do a Facebook Live, or whatever your thing is you’re going to do. Pick a product you want to sell. It could be yours. It could be Tai’s. It could be mine. You don’t even have to have your own product nowadays. – You could be an affiliate. There are so many things you can be passionate about. Become an affiliate of MentorBox. Every time you get your box, do a video talking about it. Showing what’s inside of it.

Why you’re so excited. And just keep doing that consistently. Put $5 or $10 in ads behind it, and most of the time your messages aren’t going to hit, but every once in a while, if you do it right, the message will hit with your audience, and all of a sudden, you become an overnight success. And that’s the key. Like you were two years and all of a sudden. That was the first video that just blew up. – Yup. And went crazy. I tell people. People forget. There are very few things in this world that you do more than once that you get worse at.

So you just gotta start. You get better with progress. Meaning, put one foot in front, you shoot one target. You build one website. People are always like Tai, how can I be sure my first business is my best business? I’m like, what’s wrong with you? Why would you want your first business to be your best one? That means you have the inability to learn and get better. That means you’re basically some Benjamin Button idiot that you get stupider. You don’t get stupider, you get more experience. – All right.

Hey, this is Russell Brunson and Jim and I made a really cool video for anyone who’s trying to figure out how to get started online. How to be an affiliate and in this video we showed you how to use funnels and ClickBank to make a ton of money. A ton of affiliate commissions, creating a very simple opt-in funnels, that, basically, will help you sell products as an affiliate through ClickBank. And if you’ve ever used ClickBank before, they’re super simple and easy to use that, basically, set up a funnel, drive some traffic, make some sales, and they send you checks in the mail.
Or they can wire you money in your bank, as well. But it’s really awesome. Super simple process. Check out this video and you’ll see exactly how to do it for your business, as well. – Yeah, well, let’s explain what we’re gonna do today, okay? – All right, give us the link. – So everybody kind of knows and basically what we’re gonna do is, this is a cool idea ’cause a lot of people are like, “Well, I don’t have a product yet. “I don’t know.” (fake crying) So what we said is, you know, if you don’t have a product, one of the ways to test a market, certainly, is to sell someone else’s product as an affiliate so you can start building your tribe.
And seeing whether or not you can resonate with the people, sell, make affiliate connections, then, eventually, come out with your own product. Right? – Boom. That is- – So, what’s the biggest marketplace of affiliate offers that, basically, anybody can sell? ClickBank. – Do we have an offer we’re doing it for? – [Jim] Well, I thought we’d pick one. – Okay. Gotta be careful. – Well, I mean, I found one that’s actually the three week diet. What I was hoping we could do, also, is just talk about, Russell, ’cause I know you used to do, I used to do a ton of bridge pages.
I know you did bridge pages and stuff. So just talk about, maybe, with the whiteboard what a bridge, or you and Julie. Actually, let’s have Julie tell us on the whiteboard what a bridge page should be and do. – Okay, so a bridge page pages is, basically, so when you are selling an affiliate product, the way that it works is that you have to become the bridge between the customer and the person who’s selling the product. So, a bridge page acts, as like, your salesman. Like, if you can’t actually be there in person, to be like, “Hey, I tried this great product. “It’s amazing.” Like, “Let me tell you abut my story.” Like let’s say you’re selling, I don’t know, whatever, skin cream. And you had eczema. You would normally, in real life, tell them the story about how you had eczema and how hard it was.

And nothing worked, and then, eventually, you found a product that worked. And you would tell them this story, what would happen? They’d be like, “Oh, well let me try it.” Or, “Oh, my mom needs it.” So, online, you need to create that exact same environment, digitally. And so, the bridge page acts as your way of telling your story, giving context, creating a hook for why this product matters. So that by the time they get through the bridge page, they’re totally sold and they’re ready to go buy. – So, listening to what Julie was saying, one of the best ways to create a bridge page, is around a testimonial or case study. So, that’s one of the best ways. So if you think about the structure of a bridge page, what does, what’s it gonna need to have? It’s gotta have a headline hook. It should have a video.
– [Russell] All right, we’ll steal- So this is the ClickBank product. – [Jim] Right. – [Russell] What do we call this one? This is the three diet, three, – Three week diet. – Diet. This is the bridge page that Julie so perfectly explained. What I, what she was saying that I completely agree, is, typically I’ll do is have, like, an opt-in page first. It’s got like this really big curiosity based headline. CBH, curiosity based headline. Corey Barton Homes, that’s the big home builder in Boise. They opt-in. Then they’re taken to this. Give a good headline here. Maybe a little Brunson Box, or something, down here. With a link. Then push people to here.
The only thing I’d add, so Julie did a good job, this is like the self person. Builds the context for why you care about this and gets you excited. Other thing that I like using this page, right here, for is to up the offer. So, like, if you’re an affiliate, there’s like 500 other people all promoting the same three week diet. And so, it’s like, why would they buy from me versus everybody else. What I would do, is like, ‘kay. On the next page, the three week diet, and you can go directly buy if you want, but if you want, if you buy through my link down below, I’m going to give you something really special. What I’m going to do for you, is first thing I’m going to do, is I’m going to give you one of these amazing Superman USB drives. –
What? – With diet recipes on it. And so we’ll send you this, plus I’m going to send you some toothpicks because all the diet food is green and it gets stuck inside your teeth. And this way you can get it out of your teeth. Plus, I’m going to give you a bobble head Russell doll. You can pick from either the, this one, or the Batman one. And you can make it- – [Jim] What? – [Russell] Better. And that’s the big. – But if you buy right now, you can get the Jim Edwards bobble head, too. Three bobble heads for the price of one. – I bet a lot of people are asking, like, how do you actually, technically, pull that off. What you do is you just tell them to send you the receipt, once you’re done. – Yeah. – And then that’s how you deliver the product. – Yeah, so like, Step one, buy these things.

Step two, send me your receipt. And step three, I send you the gift. This is the secret. This is the difference between, oh (mumbles), you can make a little money or a lot. The other thing’s cool is you get their email address, then you can send them an email here. And then you can send them another email here, and another one, and another one, and you can, like, have- – Market to them. – You take away this thing, and then what happens is say they buy the three week diet, then you could be like, “Oh, what are the things that people “who are on diets like to buy?” And they’re like, “Oh, well, I like to buy,” – [Jim] Food. Ice cream. – Keto drink that’s in my Hulk cup, right?
And you’re like, I’m enjoying an MLM called Pruvit over here. So you join Pruvit MLM and then these people over here, who you know through the diet, and then you’re like, “Hey, by the way you can do the diet, “but how would you like to be in Ketones at the same time?” And then, boom, start selling this. And then all of a sudden, you’re the number one affiliate inside of Pruvit, and then you’re like, “Oh, well what about Organify? “I like green drinks.” You become an Organify affiliate. And then, you tell the people, “Being in Ketone’s good, “but drinking green’s even better.” And then, you get, and you just keep taking these people on a customer journey, to serve them at higher and higher levels. And that is how you play this game.
Yeah. – Dude, I want everybody to realize what you just got shown. This right here, what you just got shown, and explained to you somebody else would have charged you $2000 and taken three days to explain. All right? They would have called it Affiliate Marketing Lalapalooza. And you’re, I mean, it just, Russell just laid out for you how to create a real business with Click Funnels and Funnel Scripts of course. Without even having to have a website. Without having to have, you can instantly have a million dollar business, set up, your results may vary. With no product of your own.
Think about that. – Can I share one more thing I think is key? – It’s okay, as long as you’re quick. – ‘Kay, this is quick. We don’t have the next meeting place, we’re good for a few extra minutes. These are quarters.

You make 75 cents, right? Oh, this inter-marketing’s a scam. I put in a dollar and got 75 cents back out, I’m broke, ah. What happened is you have to understand, the value in any business is the customer, right? So the customer comes here, gives you the email address, this is now a customer. And this customer starts going on this journey with you. So he’s going along and maybe he buys. Maybe he’s like, “Sweet, three diets, awesome.” And he’s like, “I already bought three diet last week.” Or maybe he’s like, “Well, I don’t believe in it.” Or whatever the thing is, right? But he’s still, he’s on your list, going down this journey, until he gets this email and he’s like, “I’m not buying. “I’m not buying.” “I’m not buying.”
He comes over here and then, like, Pruvit. He’s like, “Ah, I’m not into network marketing. “I don’t want that.” Then he’s like, “Organify,” he’s like, “Oh, my gosh. “Did you see Drew’s six pack? “I want a six pack just like Drew Canole’s got.” I mean, he goes, and he buys the stuff here, right? And the next customer comes through and he’s like, boom, all three diets. And he gives you money here and that person comes. And so everyone kind of gives you money from points. What happens is that somewhere between here and the end of your customer journey, which if you treat people right, will be forever. There’s this magic spot that’s called the break even point. Break even point. Where you spend a dollar here, but you’ll keep respending dollars on these people here.
They’re already on your list, right? And so, maybe you’ll only make 75 cents by day one, and then 80 cents by day three. And by day five in your sequence you break even. And what’s cool is, everything after day five, is pure unadulterated profit. – [Jim] Free money. – All right, so. – We’re going- – Let’s go, I think Julie can do squeeze page and bridge page in 20 minutes. – [Jim] Okay. – You’re giving me the copy, right Jim? – For a dollar. (Russell and Julie laugh) – And we’re sending them to this page. This is the actual order page, right? – [Russell] Post, yep, post bridge page. – Yeah. – Okay, so the first, while you’re setting that up.
The first thing I’m going to need to do is create, actually, I’m going to need to create a headline. – Okay. – [Jim] So I think what I’m gonna be doing, so I’m showing my screen and I’m just going to be quiet a little bit while you’re working on that. ‘Cause usually Russell talks while I’m doing my magic, over here. So I’m going to let you do the same thing. So I’m actually going to use the Killer Headlines Scripts version 2.1. – All right, so I have actually only 18 minutes to build this, so you want me to start talking? (all laugh) You guys. – [Jim] Tell them what you do then. – No fair. All right, so I’m going to create the squeeze page first. This is going to have the curiosity inducing headline that Russell talked about. And then, we’re going to get their email address, and then we’re going to send them over to the bridge page. So, I’m just going to look here, at what the style is.

I mean, really when it comes to squeeze pages, you guys, you don’t really have to do anything other than what’s already in Click Funnels. If you’re really fussy and you want to change the background, I can get rid of the background here and I can make it a prettier color, or an uglier color, depending on how I am. I can change the fonts, but really, like, this is all you have to do. Now the one thing I will say, is that you just want to make sure that you’re connecting this to your email service provider or Actionetics, or whatever you’re using here, so you can just go ahead and do that in settings. And integrations, and just select where you want to go. So that’s it. You have a headline, Jim? – [Jim] Actually, I don’t have one headline for you, Julie, I have over 125 headlines. And I’m just trying to you know, sort through them a little bit. –
So, all right, so Jake just sent me a cool background banner. So let me put that background on so I can show you how to do that real fast. – [Jim] How to Melt Body Fat in As Little As 21 Days, Even if You’ve Tried Every Other Diet in the World Before, and Failed. – One of the things I want to tell you guys, here, is if you’ve got a headline like this, it helps if you take it and you make them two different sizes. You create the main headline, and then you create the sub headline. And you make it like that. But I’m going to actually move this background because it’s going right over her face.
There we go. So I just changed the setting on that background picture and now what I’m going to do is make this headline really big. Well, not that big. Make it on two lines and then pick your font. Doesn’t really matter, just something really bold, really obvious. And then, make your tag line. Jim, I think that works, as a tag line, right? – [Jim] Even if you tried ever other diet in the world before and failed, yeah, absolutely. – All right, what about a call to action on the button? – [Jim] Well, you know, it’s funny.
I’m just going through the call to action script here – [Julie] Well look at that. – [Jim] at Funnel Scripts. And I’m just one or two little variables away from coming up with some. – [Julie] Right. – [Jim] And, uh. – I’m going to underline that. So that people understand. And then, we’ll do a call to action and we’ll save this. Okay. There you go. That’s a squeeze page. I mean, that’s like, literally, all you have to do. I’m gonna probably bold that. Okay. – [Jim] Look at you. Look at you. – Whoo. All right, I’m just going to clone this funnel step so I can save my work and just keep the branding the same.

And I’m adding it to the funnel, so now I have a second page, here. And so now, this is going to be my bridge page. Okay, so we’re going to do a video. And, are we going to use the same, we’re going to use the same headline, right? – [Jim] You know, I think we should use a different headline. – [Julie] Okay. – [Jim] What do you think, Russell? Should it be a different headline? – [Russell] We do have 150 of ’em, so we might as well test – [Jim] I mean, I was thinking more like Top Weight-loss Expert Reveals How to Melt Body Fat in the Next 21 Days. – Yeah, go ahead, paste that for me.
That’s awesome. – [Jim] Well, no, top, I want you to spell it out now. Top Weight-loss Expert Reveals How to Melt Body Fat in the Next 21 Days. What I’m thinking is that, probably, this is going to be a testimonial. – New – So a sub headline would be something like, along the lines of, here’s my story. Here’s one person’s, or something, here’s one person’s weight-loss story. – I like that. All right, so, Russell’s talking about the Brunson Box. This is a Brunson Box. It’s a spoiler box. It, basically, kind of, teases what’s in the video because some people don’t like to watch a whole video.
Or they’re like, “Ah, I don’t know if it’s worth my time.” And so when they see these, like, little teaser things about what’s covered in the video, then they are more likely to stick through and watch the video. Let’s create a simple, step one, step two. So, what I like to do, is grab a headline, like this. Jim, what do you want to put under the step one and step two, and step three? What kind of copy do you want there? – Step one is, basically, go buy, go claim your copy of three week diet. Step two is, send me your receipt. And step three, I’ll send you all these cool bonuses.
What I would have under step one, would be a big fat button that took them through your affiliate link to the three week diet page. But make sure it pops in a new window so that they don’t leave this page. – And then we’ll add a button. Claim your three week diet now. Okay. – Here. – Here. All right, then what your going to do, guys, is you’re going to duplicate this whole thing. So you don’t have to do all that work. Step two is, email us your receipt, right? – Mm-hmm. – And then step three is going to be something simple, like we’ll send you, – [Russell] Send you. – We’ll send you all your cool bonuses including and then you would list them all off.
Well, and let’s talk, real quick, about what you would do to make that video and then we’ll give you amazing kudos and stuff. But what I, personally, would do, is I would use the Million Dollar Testimonials Script inside of Funnel Scripts. And you can, basically, use that to interview yourself or you can have somebody interview you. Basically, you want to tell your story about the results that you’ve got. And then, I would end the video by telling them all the stuff that you would give them as a bonus, in order for them to buy it. Because you believe in it so much, you want to make sure that everybody takes advantage of it.

So you want to sweeten the pot. That kind of way. I mean, that would be a way that you could create an amazing video that would have a real impact on people. I want you guys to really think about something there, now. Okay? Using these tools, using what she knows how to do at a basic level, under pressure. And they always say that you always revert, whenever you’re under pressure, you’re going to revert to your training. Knowing how to use Click Funnels. Knowing how to use Funnel Scripts and having to get something done, the stress that she was under is no different than you’re working a full time job. You’re trying to figure out how to create some income. It’s 1:00 in the morning and you’re trying to get something done to feel like you’re moving forward.
That same level of stress. Is exactly what she was experiencing right there. And we use the tools to create something, actually, it looks pretty darn good. – [Russell] Good. – In that 20 minutes. And I think that is amazing and Julie deserves a big round of applause. – Whoo! (Jim and Russell Clapping) I think it’s funny, though, because people always I talk to people all the time who are like, “I’ve been in Click Funnels now for a couple of months, “hoping to get something done soon.”
I’m like, “A couple months?” Like, “What are you doing?” – Yeah, that is the number one thing that stops people, is the fear of failure and perfectionism. The only way to get out of that and get over it, is to go right through it. – And think about what we did, though, as far as before we got into using Click
Funnels or using Funnel Scripts, we drew out on a piece of paper in effect, or on the whiteboard, what we needed to get done. So it wasn’t a situation of, “Hey, let me get in here “and I’ll figure it out.” It’s like, I drew out exactly what I need. And that’s all there was.
