(laughs) – Best day of the year, huh? (laughs) (majestic music) – Russell is getting interviewed here for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. One of the finalist here, so lot’s going on. And it’s gonna be kind of a crazy day. – [Director] Okay, ready? Yeah just keep your eyes on the camera the entire time. Okay ready, one, two, three, go. (upbeat music) – Our company, we are obsessed with entrepreneurs, so this is a huge honor to be just apart of this group. It’s so amazing to see all these entrepreneurs and how every single one of the people here are doing their best to try to change their world in their own little way, and it’s inspiring. This quote, I think, sums it up the best. It says, here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in square holes, the ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of the rules and they have no respect for the status quo, You can quote them, you can disagree with them, you can glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them, because they change things, they push the human race forward. and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius because they are the ones who are crazy enough to think they can actually change the world, and they are the ones who do. 4 July 2018 with Russell Brunson

Guess who just got here. I think he’s excited for some fireworks. Are you ready for some fireworks? (cheers) – So there’s a reason why the reason why the Fourth of July is by far my favorite holiday. I look forward to it all year long. And the main reason is something that probably a lot of people don’t know about me and my personal life. So I have an older sister, her name is Stacy, and she was born mentally handicapped, and she actually passed away when she was 30 years old. She’s two years older than me, so when I was 28. Just one of the most amazing people on planet Earth. About a year after she passed away, there’s a really neat guy that moved into the church that I go to, and his name is Jesse Pewterbaugh. – I missed you so much. And when I first met Jesse, just instantly fell in love with him. Became my best friend and after that became even more like a brother. (bluegrass music) Spent a lot of time with Jesse, lot of holidays with Jesse. But by far the best time with Jesse is on 4th of July. ♪ Reaching to the sky, this land we love ♪ We’d always do every year is we buy a whole bunch of smoke bombs, and we blow ’em up together and it’s a ton of fun. Now as much fun as that is, my favorite things to teach Jesse about is I always tell him that some day, my goal for him is to get to heaven and to marry my sister. And then Jesse and I will be real brothers. So it’s a lot of fun, love Jesse, love the 4th of July and I love smoke bombs. Okay, they’ve been trying all night to make the snowman. The bubble soccer snowman. Hey who wants to build a snowman? I know it seems simple, it’s one page, but it’s like a billion pages behind this and 90 share funnels for funnels and I’m so proud of it. A tear coming to my eye. Anyways, it’s awesome. Coming down to the end? – Down to the wire. – [Dave] Down to the wire. – Forces of evil were conspiring against us today. What’s a movie premier without popcorn? Got Operation Underground Railroad. All right so it’s a little early, got about a half hour before we kick things off here. We’ve got people already coming in. Some are friends and family members and everything. We appreciate all you guys coming out.

Operation Underground Railroad

I am super-psyched for tonight, it’s a really special night. And I’m glad to, excited to have share with all of you guys. Assumed you guys heard about a year ago, we got contacted and were asked if we would help, to help Operation Underground Railroad to help save more children. I didn’t know what that organization was, I had no idea, ahead of time. (dramatic music) – I never dreamed that I would work in Haiti. I didn’t know anything really about Haiti. Until I learned about a little boy who was born in Utah, U.S. citizen and was kidnapped in Haiti from his church, where his father was the pastor. I read about it in the local newspaper. I thought that I could make it into a U.S. case and I couldn’t because it wasn’t. We had to leave our jobs. I had to leave my job because I just had to do something about it. We went to Haiti to look for his son. And we never found him. – People weren’t talking about human trafficking like they are now and really it’s because of the work and efforts by organizations like Operation Underground Railroad. – It’s a subject that nobody wants to think about or talk about. It’s the worst part of humanity. Look, 2 virgins, 13 and 14 years old. – Okay, wow. – And yet we gotta do something about it. – Police, get on the ground right now. – On the ground right now. – Get on the ground right now. Get on the ground, put that down, lie on the ground. – Every 30 seconds, a child is sold. They’re sold for sex, they’re sold for labor. They’re sold for organ harvesting, which is something we’re now getting into. There’s 6 million children that are forced into one of those three categories right now. And the world doesn’t know. – Not a lot of people know, but the profile for men who travel abroad to have sex with kids are American citizens. – The U.S. creates the demand, the highest producer and consumer of child pornography is right here in the United States.

If you lost one of your children to one of these evil people

– Well if you lost one of your children to one of these evil people, you’d do anything to get even and get your child back. – Had a knock on my door one day, Tim said, listen I really feel like I could do better leaving the government. (dramatic music) – I’d find a group of kids in Guatemala or Colombia and I couldn’t do anything about it because it wasn’t a U.S. case. It’s outside of the jurisdiction and I understood that. However that doesn’t mean that we couldn’t be doing more.

Tim Ballard

Tim Ballard left his law enforcement career, everything that he knew, his pension, his security, to start a nonprofit called Operation Underground Railroad. They’ve done jumps everywhere throughout the world, rescued kids and then helped them get to a safe place with their Aftercare programs. – He had a way that we could really make an impact, but they needed a million dollars to start and I said, I’m in. (dramatic music) – I like little girls – You like little girls? – We had set up this operation that looked like it went flawless. – We unfortunately got some very frustrating news. – [Jessica] The traffickers were being released and that all the girls were released. – They paid money to the right people, to the judges. The job’s not quite done, but it’s almost done because now we need to go back and we need to rearrest every single one of these traffickers. It will be a message to Haiti, to America, to the whole world that there are good people everywhere that will stand up for them.

How to Create a Sales Funnel Without A Website

Hey, for those who are just tuning in, my name is Russell Brunson and today I’m gonna be answering a whole bunch of different questions on marketing and sales and growing your company and funnels and traffic and making money and a whole bunch of stuff in between. But today’s question is one of my favorites. In fact, it might cause a little bit of a rant. The question is, websites versus funnels. And the questions says, so maybe I’m crazy, but I don’t see a difference between a website and a sales funnel. Why do I need a sales funnel?

Difference between a website and a funnel

Oh, thank you for asking that question. I’m gonna try to doodle this kinda fast so you guys don’t miss any of it. So this is a traditional website, okay? You come right here, you got your website, I’m sure you guys have seen this a billion times. Website. And on top you’ve got your logo and there’s like a navigation menu, there’s a secondary menu, then right here if they click on any of these it drops down a sub-menu with like 20 different options. You click here there’s like 20 more options. Then there’s like a section here and a section here and a section here and a section here and then, every section they click takes them somewhere else. And then it takes ’em to the secondary page and the third page and they, on page like 92 there’s like a place where we ask for money, right? I’ll make it green. This is where we finally ask for money. That’s a traditional website. What does that look like to you? Let’s you go and you give Mr. Zuckerberg some money on Facebook, he drives a whole bunch of people here. It’s literally like, let’s say you have a store, and in front of the store you had a whole bunch of people blocking people from coming into the front door, you’re like, ah, ah, but wait, hold on, do you wanna know about us? Wait, you wanna contact us? Wait, do you want my about page? Wait, do you wanna see my product page? What do you wanna see, and you’re like blocking them with all of these links. They’re coming here to get to the link right here, let’s say this is like the money link where they’re gonna give you money because of this page right here. But they gotta pass one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, there’s like 20 or 30 things they have to navigate around to get to the spot where you actually want, where they ask you do something to do give you money or to become a lead or whatever it is.

The number one rule of direct response marketing

That is your traditional website. They drive me nuts, though, right? There’s either that or the other variation. If you’re looking at these in the real world one of ’em is like, here’s your storefront, and you’ve got like armed guards out front blocking people from coming through the door. So there’s your website, that’s what a lot of you guys are doing if you got a traditional website. You’re like, don’t come in, please, I want to confuse you. The number one rule of direct response marketing is a confused mind will always say no. So you are blocking them and confusing them, they’re like, ah, I don’t know what to do, and they just leave. Or the second option is you do more like a traditional e-commerce store or Amazon. And you don’t have these guys blocking ’em, but you’re like, welcome to my store, and they walk in there’s a billion things and they walk in they’re like, I don’t know what to do. Or they walk, have you guys ever walked in the library? I wanna learn how to tie my shoe. You walk in the library and there’s like eight levels like 800 books, you’re just like, um, I don’t know what to do, and you walk out. I’m sure the answer’s somewhere in there, I just don’t know what it is. That’s what most people are doing with a website. They’re blocking everything. So now take that, let’s shift that to a funnel.

So what is a funnel?

Here is a funnel. So a funnel is like imagine this person, here’s the dude right here coming to your world, he comes into your store. Instead of blocking him or ignoring him, you meet him at the front door and you’re like, hey, what’s your name? They’re like, oh, my name is Russell. Oh Russell, great to meet you. I want to make sure you have the best experience possible so step number one, what are you actually looking for? I’m like, oh, I’m going on a camping trip this weekend. Cool, so what do you want? I’m like, I’m actually looking for a tent. He’s like, oh, you want a tent, okay. And the guy grabs me over here and takes me over to the tents. He’s like, here is the tent section, Russell. I’m like, oh, sweet, the tent is awesome. Thank you so much for the tent. And they’re like, what else do you need on this trip you’re going on? I’m like, well, I’m gonna go backpacking with my kids. Well, do you have a backpack? No. Oh, well, you should get a backpack. And the dude walks me over here and I get a backpack. And he takes me through a customized sales process specifically for me. That’s what a funnel is. When I drive somebody from Facebook and they come to a page, page number one is a very simple like usually there’s one thing, right? A confused mind always says no, so maybe I’m saying, hey, welcome to my landing page.

How do I use funnels?

In fact, if you go to ClickFunnels.com right now you’ll notice it’s like, hey, a lot of people use ClickFunnels. Tell me kind of business you’re in and I’ll tell you exactly what type of funnel you need. And so I have this like survey here. They tell me exactly what kind of funnel they have. Based on that I have 10 different pages I take them to. Just like if this dude, if I walked in and I was like, hey, I run a retail location, how do I use funnels? He wouldn’t walk me over to some other weird section, he’d take me exactly where it is. So on page one of funnels it’s very simple. I ask who they are, what they want. I take ’em specifically to a page that gets ’em exactly what they want. And then from there, I take ’em to the next page and I’m able to walk them through a very simple sales process where they only see one thing at a time, I take ’em through this process, and what happens is two things. Number one, this customer that you just paid for to get to your website or to your funnel, because he now has a customized experience, he ends up being really happy, like a lot happier, right? He’s like, wow, these guys treated me really, really well. They didn’t just like slam me into a brick wall and hope I could figure my way out. They didn’t block me and confuse me. They took me through a very systematic sales process so I understood exactly what I was doing. So your customer becomes really happy. The second thing is, you, as the shop owner, you can come down here, you become more happy because guess what happens? They end up paying you more money.

If you hate your customers, you should definitely keep using a website

So what happens is the customer has a better experience, you as the owner of the funnel makes more money so you have a better experience. Both people win. My definition of business is when both people leave fee knowing that they got a better deal. And that’s what a funnel is. If you hate your customers, you should definitely keep using a website. Keep blocking them. Confusing them to make sure they don’t know what to do. Or, if you want to like change their lives, then build a funnel and take them a systematic sales process to get ’em exactly what they want, to have the best experience possible, and you make the most money possible from every single person. Next, it’s all quiet on the Click Funnels front as the team prepares for a webinar, but this webinar day is a little different. Russell is busy prepping Kaelin Poulin from Lady Boss to lead the webinar as he starts to create new attractive characters for the Click Funnels brand. Kaelin obviously crushes the webinar pitch and Russell is now officially retired from Click Funnels…but not really. Finally, as the 100th episode winds down Dave reveals the new 2CCX box that will go out to 2CCX coaches and members.

Guinness world record plaque for the largest bubble soccer game

Alright so Miles and I are about ready to head out and we’re heading down to Boise State. Miles you tell me what we’re gonna be doing a Boise State today? We’re presenting the Guinness world record plaque for the largest bubble soccer game. “It is my distinct pleasure to present the Guinness world record to Russell, Dave, Todd & the executive management team of Clickfunnels. You are officially amazing!” We’re gonna have coach Harrison there, gonna have the A.D. for Boise State, gonna have a bunch of media there, so right now we’re trying to compile this, adding up numbers and everything so, we’re cutting it close like we always do, what’s up let’s go! So these are the plaques that are actually presented here. mmm Clickfunnels Guinness World Record. Alright Miles, game on buddy are you nervous? Dude you have the plaques! Oh yeah that would be an important thing. Okay here we are Boise State Stadium on the blue it’s a big old stadium when you’re now and below it. Alright hopefully we don’t screw this up only got one shot at it. My name’s Dave Woodward I’m the chief development officer at Clickfunnels. So we set the world record here on the blue, I want to thank coach Harrison for allowing us to use this field and most importantly Boise State for all they do for the community and I want to congratulate you thank you so much we appreciate this. The weirdest webinar day I’ve ever experienced

This is like the weirdest webinar day I’ve ever experienced here. Our office is like quiet, it’s really really weird but literally within hour and 15 minutes this thing’s taking off so let’s kind of figure out what’s going on. Quiet isn’t it? Calm before this storm what’s happening? The webinar’s coming! I’ve never seen this happen for it, it’s like Russell’s not gonna have to work out as powerpoints or anything else it’s like a weird feeling. Russell: “I’m done, I retired officially, Kaeline’s now in charge of being attractive character for Clickfunnels. Jamie’s bustin out trying to make sure this thing actually works, Ron is busy bat-line signal is up! It’s going on, we’re all set getting ready, getting ready glasses are on, I’m out! Miles just typing away like crazy. Look at Brett crushing it over here, this is just like I’ve never seen an office this quiet before a huge webinar, this is really really really bizarre. John sitting here making sure everything’s working and ready to go, here in an hour it’s so close. Tell me how many registrations we had? John: 7,648. Alright so we’re talking about literally the evolution of the attractive character and groundbreaking craziness that’s happening, literally less than like 45 minutes, well so we’re just talking about how there’s this common belief in like the business community that if you if you are the face of the business (like Russell is the face of clickfunnels) – if you’re that person, then you’re always going to be inextricably linked to the business and you’re never gonna be able to pull yourself out and you’re always gonna have to be the attractive character. It’s like so cool but then you get stuck.

How do you bring in other attractive characters?

So like four years ago when we launched clickfunnels, I thought about that. How do I sell clickfunnels some day? if we wanted you know not that I’m going to, but if we wanted to if Russell is clickfunnels then it’s not gonna sell. So this was the thought and I know i’d execute it. I just knew I couldn’t be the attractive character all the time I had to be the initial momentum and growth, but then how do you like bring in other attractive characters, like what’s the next level of that? And so it’s crazy the last three and a half years when training tons of people in our community to do the perfect webinar to do my webinar pitch there are their own stories, their own thing and so this is the first time we’ve done it: Kaeline basically took my offer but she’s doing the webinar with her own style and story, her own everything, but she just used my offer and she’s doing the whole webinar today and so when she does it she’s gonna crush it. So now, Russell has a presentation, Kaeline has a presentation, so that’s two people that are selling clickfunnels and then eventually we would have a third person and a fourth and a fifth and then 12. Then it’ll be cool we’ll have 12 attractive characters and I’m one of many and if I want to say like just step away, my presentation still stands, but I’m one of a whole bunch of success students so the magic is that you are the attractive character initially, but long term your clients are your attractive characters. How to use funnels and ClickBank to make a ton of money

Hey, this is Russell Brunson and Jim and I made a really cool video for anyone who’s trying to figure out how to get started online. How to be an affiliate and in this video we showed you how to use funnels and ClickBank to make a ton of money. A ton of affiliate commissions, creating a very simple opt-in funnels, that, basically, will help you sell products as an affiliate through ClickBank. And if you’ve ever used ClickBank before, they’re super simple and easy to use that, basically, set up a funnel, drive some traffic, make some sales, and they send you checks in the mail. Or they can wire you money in your bank, as well. But it’s really awesome. Super simple process. Check out this video and you’ll see exactly how to do it for your business, as well. – Yeah, well, let’s explain what we’re gonna do today, okay? – All right, give us the link. – So everybody kind of knows and basically what we’re gonna do is, this is a cool idea ’cause a lot of people are like, “Well, I don’t have a product yet. “I don’t know.” (fake crying) So what we said is, you know, if you don’t have a product, one of the ways to test a market, certainly, is to sell someone else’s product as an affiliate so you can start building your tribe. And seeing whether or not you can resonate with the people, sell, make affiliate connections, then, eventually, come out with your own product. Right? – Boom. That is- – So, what’s the biggest marketplace of affiliate offers that, basically, anybody can sell? ClickBank. – Do we have an offer we’re doing it for? –

Let’s have Julie tell us on the whiteboard what a bridge page should be and do

[Jim] Well, I thought we’d pick one. – Okay. Gotta be careful. – Well, I mean, I found one that’s actually the three week diet. What I was hoping we could do, also, is just talk about, Russell, ’cause I know you used to do, I used to do a ton of bridge pages. I know you did bridge pages and stuff. So just talk about, maybe, with the whiteboard what a bridge, or you and Julie. Actually, let’s have Julie tell us on the whiteboard what a bridge page should be and do. – Okay, so a bridge page pages is, basically, so when you are selling an affiliate product, the way that it works is that you have to become the bridge between the customer and the person who’s selling the product. So, a bridge page acts, as like, your salesman. Like, if you can’t actually be there in person, to be like, “Hey, I tried this great product. “It’s amazing.” Like, “Let me tell you abut my story.” Like let’s say you’re selling, I don’t know, whatever, skin cream. And you had eczema. You would normally, in real life, tell them the story about how you had eczema and how hard it was. And nothing worked, and then, eventually, you found a product that worked. And you would tell them this story, what would happen? They’d be like, “Oh, well let me try it.” Or, “Oh, my mom needs it.” So, online, you need to create that exact same environment, digitally. And so, the bridge page acts as your way of telling your story, giving context, creating a hook for why this product matters. So that by the time they get through the bridge page, they’re totally sold and they’re ready to go buy.

CBH: curiosity based headline

– So, listening to what Julie was saying, one of the best ways to create a bridge page, is around a testimonial or case study. So, that’s one of the best ways. So if you think about the structure of a bridge page, what does, what’s it gonna need to have? It’s gotta have a headline hook. It should have a video. – [Russell] All right, we’ll steal- So this is the ClickBank product. – [Jim] Right. – [Russell] What do we call this one? This is the three diet, three, – Three week diet. – Diet. This is the bridge page that Julie so perfectly explained. What I, what she was saying that I completely agree, is, typically I’ll do is have, like, an opt-in page first. It’s got like this really big curiosity based headline. CBH, curiosity based headline. Corey Barton Homes, that’s the big home builder in Boise. They opt-in. Then they’re taken to this. Give a good headline here. Maybe a little Brunson Box, or something, down here. With a link. Then push people to here. The only thing I’d add, so Julie did a good job, this is like the self person. Builds the context for why you care about this and gets you excited. Other thing that I like using this page, right here, for is to up the offer. So, like, if you’re an affiliate, there’s like 500 other people all promoting the same three week diet. And so, it’s like, why would they buy from me versus everybody else. What I would do, is like, ‘kay. On the next page, the three week diet, and you can go directly buy if you want, but if you want, if you buy through my link down below, I’m going to give you something really special.

What you do is you just tell them to send you the receipt, once you’re done. – Yeah. – And then that’s how you deliver the product. – Yeah, so like, Step one, buy these things. Step two, send me your receipt. And step three, I send you the gift. This is the secret. This is the difference between, oh (mumbles), you can make a little money or a lot. The other thing’s cool is you get their email address, then you can send them an email here. And then you can send them another email here, and another one, and another one, and you can, like, have- – Market to them. – You take away this thing, and then what happens is say they buy the three week diet, then you could be like, “Oh, what are the things that people “who are on diets like to buy?” And they’re like, “Oh, well, I like to buy,”

Affiliate Marketing Lalapalooza

– [Jim] Food. Ice cream. – Keto drink that’s in my Hulk cup, right? And you’re like, I’m enjoying an MLM called Pruvit over here. So you join Pruvit MLM and then these people over here, who you know through the diet, and then you’re like, “Hey, by the way you can do the diet, “but how would you like to be in Ketones at the same time?” And then, boom, start selling this. And then all of a sudden, you’re the number one affiliate inside of Pruvit, and then you’re like, “Oh, well what about Organify? “I like green drinks.” You become an Organify affiliate. And then, you tell the people, “Being in Ketone’s good, “but drinking green’s even better.” And then, you get, and you just keep taking these people on a customer journey, to serve them at higher and higher levels. And that is how you play this game. Yeah. – Dude, I want everybody to realize what you just got shown. This right here, what you just got shown, and explained to you somebody else would have charged you $2000 and taken three days to explain. All right? They would have called it Affiliate Marketing Lalapalooza. And you’re, I mean, it just, Russell just laid out for you how to create a real business with Click Funnels and Funnel Scripts of course. Without even having to have a website. Without having to have, you can instantly have a million dollar business, set up, your results may vary. With no product of your own. Think about that. – Can I share one more thing I think is key? – It’s okay, as long as you’re quick. – ‘Kay, this is quick. We don’t have the next meeting place, we’re good for a few extra minutes. We’re good.

Oh, my gosh. Did you see Drew’s six pack?

– [Jim] Okay. – All right, this is what people miss, you come over here, you go over here and you give Mark Zuckerberg a dollar, or two, right? And then it drives people in to here. And if you locked in, then scoot by here, and the problem with traditional affiliate marketing is that a lot of times you spend one dollar right here, and after everyone come through and see this right here, you drop out and you made like, 75 cents, right? These are quarters. You make 75 cents, right? Oh, this inter-marketing’s a scam. I put in a dollar and got 75 cents back out, I’m broke, ah. What happened is you have to understand, the value in any business is the customer, right? So the customer comes here, gives you the email address, this is now a customer. And this customer starts going on this journey with you. So he’s going along and maybe he buys. Maybe he’s like, “Sweet, three diets, awesome.” And he’s like, “I already bought three diet last week.” Or maybe he’s like, “Well, I don’t believe in it.” Or whatever the thing is, right? But he’s still, he’s on your list, going down this journey, until he gets this email and he’s like, “I’m not buying. “I’m not buying.” “I’m not buying.” He comes over here and then, like, Pruvit. He’s like, “Ah, I’m not into network marketing. “I don’t want that.” Then he’s like, “Organify,” he’s like, “Oh, my gosh. “Did you see Drew’s six pack? “I want a six pack just like Drew Canole’s got.” I mean, he goes, and he buys the stuff here, right? And the next customer comes through and he’s like, boom, all three diets.

Everything after day five, is pure unadulterated profit

And he gives you money here and that person comes. And so everyone kind of gives you money from points. What happens is that somewhere between here and the end of your customer journey, which if you treat people right, will be forever. There’s this magic spot that’s called the break even point. Break even point. Where you spend a dollar here, but you’ll keep respending dollars on these people here. They’re already on your list, right? And so, maybe you’ll only make 75 cents by day one, and then 80 cents by day three. And by day five in your sequence you break even. And what’s cool is, everything after day five, is pure unadulterated profit. – [Jim] Free money. – All right, so. – We’re going- – Let’s go, I think Julie can do squeeze page and bridge page in 20 minutes. – [Jim] Okay. – You’re giving me the copy, right Jim? – For a dollar. (Russell and Julie laugh) – And we’re sending them to this page. This is the actual order page, right? – [Russell] Post, yep, post bridge page. – Yeah. – Okay, so the first, while you’re setting that up. The first thing I’m going to need to do is create, actually, I’m going to need to create a headline. – Okay. – [Jim] So I think what I’m gonna be doing, so I’m showing my screen and I’m just going to be quiet a little bit while you’re working on that. ‘Cause usually Russell talks while I’m doing my magic, over here. So I’m going to let you do the same thing. So I’m actually going to use the Killer Headlines Scripts version 2.1. – All right, so I have actually only 18 minutes to build this, so you want me to start talking? (all laugh) You guys.

You don’t really have to do anything other than what’s already in Click Funnels

– [Jim] Tell them what you do then. – No fair. All right, so I’m going to create the squeeze page first. This is going to have the curiosity inducing headline that Russell talked about. And then, we’re going to get their email address, and then we’re going to send them over to the bridge page. So, I’m just going to look here, at what the style is. I mean, really when it comes to squeeze pages, you guys, you don’t really have to do anything other than what’s already in Click Funnels. If you’re really fussy and you want to change the background, I can get rid of the background here and I can make it a prettier color, or an uglier color, depending on how I am. I can change the fonts, but really, like, this is all you have to do. Now the one thing I will say, is that you just want to make sure that you’re connecting this to your email service provider or Actionetics, or whatever you’re using here, so you can just go ahead and do that in settings. And integrations, and just select where you want to go. So that’s it. You have a headline, Jim? – [Jim] Actually, I don’t have one headline for you, Julie, I have over 125 headlines. And I’m just trying to you know, sort through them a little bit. – So, all right, so Jake just sent me a cool background banner. So let me put that background on so I can show you how to do that real fast. – [Jim] How to Melt Body Fat in As Little As 21 Days, Even if You’ve Tried Every Other Diet in the World Before, and Failed. – One of the things I want to tell you guys, here, is if you’ve got a headline like this, it helps if you take it and you make them two different sizes.

A bit of funnel building

You create the main headline, and then you create the sub headline. And you make it like that. But I’m going to actually move this background because it’s going right over her face. There we go. So I just changed the setting on that background picture and now what I’m going to do is make this headline really big. Well, not that big. Make it on two lines and then pick your font. Doesn’t really matter, just something really bold, really obvious. And then, make your tag line. Jim, I think that works, as a tag line, right? – [Jim] Even if you tried ever other diet in the world before and failed, yeah, absolutely. – All right, what about a call to action on the button? – [Jim] Well, you know, it’s funny. I’m just going through the call to action script here – [Julie] Well look at that. – [Jim] at Funnel Scripts. And I’m just one or two little variables away from coming up with some. – [Julie] Right. – [Jim] And, uh. – I’m going to underline that. So that people understand. And then, we’ll do a call to action and we’ll save this. Okay. There you go. That’s a squeeze page. I mean, that’s like, literally, all you have to do. I’m gonna probably bold that. Okay. – [Jim] Look at you. Look at you. – Whoo. All right, I’m just going to clone this funnel step so I can save my work and just keep the branding the same. And I’m adding it to the funnel, so now I have a second page, here. And so now, this is going to be my bridge page. Okay, so we’re going to do a video. And, are we going to use the same, we’re going to use the same headline, right?

I think we should use a different headline

– [Jim] You know, I think we should use a different headline. – [Julie] Okay. – [Jim] What do you think, Russell? Should it be a different headline? – [Russell] We do have 150 of ’em, so we might as well test – [Jim] I mean, I was thinking more like Top Weight-loss Expert Reveals How to Melt Body Fat in the Next 21 Days. – Yeah, go ahead, paste that for me. That’s awesome. – [Jim] Well, no, top, I want you to spell it out now. Top Weight-loss Expert Reveals How to Melt Body Fat in the Next 21 Days. What I’m thinking is that, probably, this is going to be a testimonial. – New – So a sub headline would be something like, along the lines of, here’s my story. Here’s one person’s, or something, here’s one person’s weight-loss story. – I like that. All right, so, Russell’s talking about the Brunson Box. This is a Brunson Box. It’s a spoiler box. It, basically, kind of, teases what’s in the video because some people don’t like to watch a whole video. Or they’re like, “Ah, I don’t know if it’s worth my time.” And so when they see these, like, little teaser things about what’s covered in the video, then they are more likely to stick through and watch the video. Let’s create a simple, step one, step two. So, what I like to do, is grab a headline, like this. Jim, what do you want to put under the step one and step two, and step three? What kind of copy do you want there? – Step one is, basically, go buy, go claim your copy of three week diet. Step two is, send me your receipt. And step three, I’ll send you all these cool bonuses.

Basically, you want to tell your story about the results that you’ve got

What I would have under step one, would be a big fat button that took them through your affiliate link to the three week diet page. But make sure it pops in a new window so that they don’t leave this page. – And then we’ll add a button. Claim your three week diet now. Okay. – Here. – Here. All right, then what your going to do, guys, is you’re going to duplicate this whole thing. So you don’t have to do all that work. Step two is, email us your receipt, right? – Mm-hmm. – And then step three is going to be something simple, like we’ll send you, – [Russell] Send you. – We’ll send you all your cool bonuses including and then you would list them all off. Well, and let’s talk, real quick, about what you would do to make that video and then we’ll give you amazing kudos and stuff. But what I, personally, would do, is I would use the Million Dollar Testimonials Script inside of Funnel Scripts. And you can, basically, use that to interview yourself or you can have somebody interview you. Basically, you want to tell your story about the results that you’ve got. And then, I would end the video by telling them all the stuff that you would give them as a bonus, in order for them to buy it. Because you believe in it so much, you want to make sure that everybody takes advantage of it. So you want to sweeten the pot. That kind of way. I mean, that would be a way that you could create an amazing video that would have a real impact on people. I want you guys to really think about something there, now. Okay? Using these tools, using what she knows how to do at a basic level, under pressure.

The number one thing that stops people is the fear of failure and perfectionism

And they always say that you always revert, whenever you’re under pressure, you’re going to revert to your training. Knowing how to use Click Funnels. Knowing how to use Funnel Scripts and having to get something done, the stress that she was under is no different than you’re working a full time job. You’re trying to figure out how to create some income. It’s 1:00 in the morning and you’re trying to get something done to feel like you’re moving forward. That same level of stress. Is exactly what she was experiencing right there. And we use the tools to create something, actually, it looks pretty darn good. – [Russell] Good. – In that 20 minutes. And I think that is amazing and Julie deserves a big round of applause. – Whoo! (Jim and Russell Clapping) I think it’s funny, though, because people always I talk to people all the time who are like, “I’ve been in Click Funnels now for a couple of months, “hoping to get something done soon.” I’m like, “A couple months?” Like, “What are you doing?” – Yeah, that is the number one thing that stops people, is the fear of failure and perfectionism. The only way to get out of that and get over it, is to go right through it. – And think about what we did, though, as far as before we got into using Click Funnels or using Funnel Scripts, we drew out on a piece of paper in effect, or on the whiteboard, what we needed to get done. So it wasn’t a situation of, “Hey, let me get in here “and I’ll figure it out.” It’s like, I drew out exactly what I need. And that’s all there was. That was it. You’re done. In the entrepreneur world, we all want to have our name, business or brand show up in the top 10 spots on Google. We want to dominate the conversation in our areas of expertise. In this video, marketing expert Russell Brunson gives you his strategy so that you can reach your audience across every social platform. To reach your audience across every platform, it is pivotal to realize that the people you want to reach all have preferences on the types of social platforms that they prefer to use. There isn’t a lot of crossover and you have to find what content your audience is consuming. There is surprisingly very little crossover and there has to be a strategy behind your content.

Conversation Domination

[Russell] Hey everyone this is Russell Brunson I wanna welcome you to Marketing Secrets. Today’s show is about Conversation Domination. So there was a guy, named Howie Schwartz, when I first got started, he was big online and he had a course called Conversation Domination and it was about getting in Google and if you say typed your name into Google, all 10 spots would be you, you would dominate the conversation, right? You open up any platform, and I’m dominating the conversation. I am in your podcast feed, I am in your YouTube feed, I’m in your blog RSS feed, I wanna dominate conversation on every single platform. I think I know now why. I always wondered why nobody else is doing this, outside of Gary Vaynerchuk in our market. My business is built off email, right? So we build a big email list, we’ve had over a million entrepreneurs who’ve been on that list. I assumed, okay, I’m gonna launch in Instagram, I’ll send an email, and all of a sudden, I’ll have a million people on Instagram. I’m going to go with my blog, I’ll push them there, a million people on my blog, but with the reality, what I found is its not true. Think about this for yourself, how do you like to consume content? What’s your platform? Because everyone’s got one or two that’s their favorite. Do you like reading blogs? Maybe you’re a blog reader. Or do you like listening to podcasts? Maybe you’re a podcast person. Or do you like watching videos on YouTube, or do you check your email? What’s your platform of choice? And I thought that everyone’s on every platform, but I don’t think that’s the case. There’s a small percentage that are.

People that listen to podcasts, like to listen to podcasts.

But even if we take our Facebook list, and we write it next to our email list, and look at those side by side, our Facebook and email list, the crossover in the middle is shockingly small. We have to realize that people that read blogs, like to read blogs. People that listen to podcasts, like to listen to podcasts. That make sense? People that watch YouTube videos, they like watching YouTube videos. Think about this like, if I want people to read my blog, I don’t need to go become really good at Facebook ads to get people on my blog, you can, there’s crossover, but if I want to launch my blog in successful, who are the other people that have successful blogs that my people are already reading, that my dream clients are already reading? So I need to find those people, and get them, pay them, or partner with them, or whatever, to get them to write a blog article about me, because blog people like to read blogs, right? So if I’m reading a blog and I read a blog about someone and I go to their blog, someone’s blog needs to promote my blog. Someone’s podcast needs to promote my podcast. Somebody’s YouTube channel needs to promote my YouTube channel. If you hear me on podcast, you’ll notice here, You don’t know me, I do podcasts. “So where can we get to know more about you, Russell?” “Go to russellbrunson.com. “There’s a bunch of stuff there.” No, if I’m in a podcast, I’ll be like, “Hey if you liked listening to the podcast, “go to marketingsecrets.com. “There’s my podcast, you can subscribe.” It’s awesome, ’cause podcast people listen to podcasts. Understanding that, and again there will be a little bit of crossover, but the majority of your blog readers will come form other blogs, because blog readers read blogs.

If you wanna have Conversation Domination, the key to that is to dream 100

The majority of YouTube subscribers come from other YouTube channels, because YouTube people watch YouTube. I’d never watched a YouTube video up until 3 months ago when we launched our youtube channel. To be completely honest, I didn’t understand, and it’s so foreign to me. I get there and now I’m in this world, I’m like, okay, there’s a lot of cool stuff happening here. And people that like YouTube, they’re on YouTube all day long, all the time. People who are on Facebook, If you wanna have Conversation Domination, the key to that is to dream 100. Going back, dream 100 people, and then getting people who are bloggers to read your blog. Advertising for marketers didn’t cut it – they needed a different description – enter the “growth hacker” – someone completely focused on growth, no matter what tools or innovations they needed. Growth hacking has since taken on a job description of it’s own and these days, one of the most important job titles in the internet industry is that of a growth hacker. Modern techniques for growth hacking have changed considerably and continue to evolve. The reality is that growth hacking has existed for a long time under different guises, think “McDonalds placing a store at every highway crossroads in the 50’s” – that is a while back. Modern internet marketing still uses the same principles but the platform has changed considerably. Look at these 8 steps to implement growth hacking: 1. Make sure your product is what people want. 2. You don’t target everyone – just your core audience. 3. Figure out your method of aquisition (is it viral – get referrals, sticky – create a really awesome customer experience or paid – spend $5 to aquire a customer worth $50). 4. Activate your leads – there’s no point having high conversion rates without happy customers spreading the good news. 5. Retain your customers – repeat customers are more likely to purchase. 6. Pay attention to your revenue – warm up your customers and test different strategies to maximise revenue. 7. Get more referrals – pay close attention to whether your customers would refer you to a friend. 8. Improve your product on a continual basis – never stop innovating and improving – it’ll help your retention.
Along these lines, you can see how growth hacking is a core competency of any new internet product or service trying to make some waves.

Some major innovations have come out of the evolution of this growth hacking phenomenon. One of the major shifts has been this front-of-mind awareness the role of the “marketing funnel” in businesses, not just internet businesses but any business. In the past, the concept of marketing funnels was something marketing agencies were aware of. In the last few years however, funnels are everywhere – kids are using them, adults are using them, businesses are going wild for them. It’s mostly down to one particular software innovation, but i’ll get to that in a bit. Let’s just separate out the “Marketing Funnel” concept. OK – so what is marketing? Marketing amounts to effectively and efficiently bringing your goods and services to market. A market is a place where people buy and sell. A large proportion of the internet is dedicated to buying and selling. The internet is effectively the biggest, quickest and most efficient market in history. If any of you remember those economics classes from school where your professor was talking about the concept of a “perfect market”, this is it. Back when i was in school, this was more of an abstract concept – we were encouraged to imagine a perfect market. Now, the internet comes pretty close. You can compare prices in real time and basically get the best price in an instant. A definition from the Financial Times lexicon: “A market in which buyers and sellers have complete information about a particular product and it is easy to compare prices of products because they are the same as each other etc.” – Yeah we are getting close to that http://lexicon.ft.com/Term?term=perfect-market
The second part of this topic is the “Funnel” – so what is that? Think about the shape of a funnel. It starts wide at the top and narrows at the base. Within marketing, the funnel starts with a wide net at the top – you are marketing to a large amount of people, then reducing that to leads (people who express an interest), then reducing that to hot leads (people who are likely to purchase), then reducing that to customers (people who have at least bought one thing), then reducing that to your best and repeat customers and eventually to your raving fans who buy everything you have for sale and rave about you continuously to everyone they know. So overall the concept of a marketing funnel, is to have a process in place that allows you to maximize the opportunity for profit at every step of this marketing behaviour. Think about casting the widest net possible while spending the least amount of money. Then think about maximizing the chance of getting the attention of your leads. Then think about maximizing the chance of those leads taking action. Then think about identifying which of those leads are most likely to purchase and then maximizing the initial purchase of those leads. Then think about maximizing the chance of those initial customers buying more from you, becoming more happy with your product & service, then maximizing the chance of them becoming raving fans. So this is essentially what a marketing funnel is – it is a marketing infrastructure geared towards maximizing the impact of your marketing activities. Now, traditionally this type of marketing infrastructure has been complicated to implement and understand. Mostly, this was left to so-called “marketing geniuses” who constantly looked at the numbers, had the confidence to split-test and trial different tweaks and turns in the marketing activities. This could have been a very long process taking place over months and years, with expensive implementations and measurement and God knows, there must have been some catastrophic blunders and losses, besides some huge successes. In the last few years however, one particular guy and his team have capitalized on the power and technology of the internet and the virtually “perfect market” that exists there. Not only that, they have set it as their mission to educate and empower anyone as to how to implement a “marketing funnel” in their business. This is Russell Brunson and Clickfunnels and I am going to explain a bit more about this next.

What is Clickfunnels?

Clickfunnels contains various elements, but primarily consists of three elements. These are, in no particular order: the software, the education and the community. Let me dive into these a bit. Firstly lets have a look at the education. Behind Clickfunnels is probably one of the most charismatic guys you will encounter. Russell Brunson is undoubtedly the leader of the clickfunnels tribe and if you have encountered Clickfunnels at any stage you will most certainly have encountered Russell. Russell had passions for a few things, namely wrestling and marketing. When he was younger, he became obsessed with marketing coupons and ads in magazines, phoning up for free giveaways and writing in to the ads to claim all their free offers. Little by little, even as a young guy, he was skilling up on the principles underneath marketing funnels – how these big companies were casting their nets and how they were upselling their products and services. In some ways, it reminds me of the story of Warren Buffett walking around his neighbourhood as a young child collecting pepsi and coke cans to bring them home and count up to see who was more popular. Either way, when you encounter Russell, it’s sometimes hard to take onboard all the stuff he is teaching. The reason is that a lot of the time, he is also selling stuff. After all, his business is largely about selling, so it makes sense that he will be selling you stuff while he is educating you. In fact, a large part of his teaching revolves around selling by teaching. All that being said, if you can wade through Russell’s “attractive character” (his concept not mine), you will find an almost unending series of educational videos explaining any aspect of selling through marketing funnels. At some stage, I want to organise all the training videos I have by Russell, but it’s fairly safe to say that there are videos explaining how you approach every step in your marketing funnel, from casting your net, running your ads, converting your traffic into leads, converting your leads into customers, converting your customers into raving fans, retaining your raving fans and more. Most of this training revolves around using his software (Clickfunnels) to achieve these goals, but nonetheless, there is a huge amount of education presented within clickfunnels and surrounding it. As i said already, it’s difficult sometimes to know whether RB is educating you or selling you and I find that a bit of a drawback. If you can do a bit of homework and organise this training without getting too hyped up about joining the 2 comma club (people who’ve made a million or more in their funnel), there is a lot to be learned about the different parts of the “marketing funnel”.
The second part of Clickfunnels is the software. Overall it’s really user-friendly and really nice to use. The interface for managing your funnels is slick and easy to navigate. There is some getting used to the drag and drop page builder, but overall it’s excellent, arguably better than any other page builder out there. You can toggle between mobile and desktop view, you can add in buttons, videos, sections, even choose from a range of “conversion colours” for different elements. The email setup with the basic package, is fairly basic but if you are on the full package and get access to Actionetics, that’s a whole different ballgame – I’ll get into that a bit later. There are also a range of pre-made funnels that you can implement in a few clicks for various objectives. I’m not going into too much detail here – you can find explainers of all that stuff elsewhere or just sign up and test on a 2 week trial. I want to stay with the main point – it almost gets lost in all the hype – what is clickfunnels for and does it work? So essentially, the software gives you all the things necessary to make slick websites easily and an autoresponder you can use to fire out emails for people who opt in to your campaigns. It also hooks up with loads of other software so you can text people, send instant messages. It also allows you to split test pages and measure your conversion rates at different stages of the funnel, which after all is what a marketing funnel is supposed to be about. I think a lot of people forget that. Sure you can use clickfunnels as a website builder and marketing program, but at the end of the day a marketing funnel is supposed to be about “Maximising impact” at each stage of the funnel. How can you do that? Well that is supposed to be what clickfunnels does – it is supposed to help you measure your conversion rate at the different steps of the funnel so that you can maximise your profits. It does a pretty good job, in that you can easily see the percentages of people that convert to the next step of the funnel. Then you can split test changes to those steps in your funnel and try to improve conversion rates. OK finally you have the clickfunnels community – the “funnel hackers” – at the time of writing, there are over 170,000 people in the clickfunnels facebook group and there is a huge amount of activity there on a regular basis. You can get advice about any aspect of any funnels in any niche. It’s pretty awesome and inspiring – you can get advice as a newbie straight from a 2 comma club winner or better from someone who has made 8 figures in a single funnel, an 8 figure club award winner.

The first step in the funnel is visitors: Getting anyone to visit your website. They are visitors at this stage because they don’t belong to you yet. They haven’t opted in.
